Pros: Friendly host and staff! Great breakfast! Real relaxing stay!
Pros: I don't think there is space or time to write all my compliments for this property. The overall feel was zen like, but still warm and welcoming. The Japanese beds were extremely comfortable. The hosts were extremely gracious and helpful. And breakfast each morning was healthy and colorful, featuring locally grown produce and house made specialties.
Cons: I can't think of a single thing not to like! Everyone in our group plans to come back again, some within just a few weeks!
Pros: The room is clean and the view is perfect, the house design is also modern and relaxing, and above all the owner is really nice
Pros: Amazing panorama views, huge room, very modern and clean, kind friendly hosts, amazing breakfast with eggs, bacon, vegetables and fresh fruits. Peaceful quiet remote location (probably best to have your own car) with easy parking. We walked 7 minutes to a nearby tea house restaurant for dinner where we ate well and enjoyed a tea tasting with locally grown tea. There isn’t much else nearby but if you want a restful place in the countryside for a night it’s perfect
Pros: Very nice host and warm welcome. The breakfast is very very special and good! The rooms and place are exceptionally good!

Pros: Cute B&B conveniently located when travelling along Highway 9. The room was super clean, nicely decorated, and the bed comfortable. The host was also really helpful in advising us for a place to go to for dinner. Staying there is definitely a much better option than Taitung if you are doing Highway 9.

Cons: The location is not convenient, there is no food store or convenient stall within walking distance. Cab is the only choice if without car, and transport cost not cheap.
Pros: The staff here was very friendly. The owner even drove one of us to the store instead of us paying for a cab. Breakfast was good and rooms are very nice.
Pros: The hostess was very kind and helpfull. She explained a lot e.g. about the community. The community is a social commumity: they help the children with their school homewerk.
Cons: The Wifi was slowly.

Pros: Very friendly and generous owner couple. We had a pleasant chat after dinner outdoor in the yard, with good tea, fresh air and scent of trees, and a cleat starry night. A lot of sharing about how the local residents live and the past of the tribe.
Cons: basically nothing. the facility is located in a farm in a mountain area. We arrived in a summer season. So, when sunset time, there were insects flying around. Better to carry some repellent sprays with you just in case.

Cons: I did not like the breakfast
Pros: Everyone is super friendly and easy-going. Met a few very interesting bunk mates too and chit chat about one another's travel experuence. Good place to mingle around at night.
Cons: Personally my partner and myself find the bed a little too hard but thats just our preference.
Pros: The guesthouse was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The whole house is beautifully decorated. The host and staff there were very friendly and gave us useful information on what to do in the Luye region.
Pros: Jamie was a very attentive host, and she helped us enormously when we were there. Also, the breakfasts she made were delicious.

Pros: The host was really friendly, responsive and helpful. Stay was a comfortable one, room was very spacious and had a cozy feeling. There was a dog too!!! :)) Large common area and kitchen is well equipped.
Cons: House was quite far from the train station(30mins walk) and the eateries are near the train station.
Pros: Jamie is a wonderful host, and she and her friends suggested lots of things to do in the area and made sure I was comfortable. She made delicious food for all the guests and provided free bikes which was a great way to explore the area. I would love to stay again when the weather is warmer.
Pros: Love that everything was homemade. The community like kind of atmosphere (breakfast, dinner) is one of a kind. A very home-y experience. Note: You can rent electric scooters (no need for helmet/international license), just ask!
Cons: Just a bit hard to get to by foot/public transport. That said, its cheap to just get a taxi for about TWD 100.
Pros: Jamie was a great host. She called a number of friends who were hikers, and the national park office, to help me arrange permits for the Walami Trail. When I arrived the house smelled of bagels in the oven and the breakfast was delicious. Lovely wooden lounge to relax in.

Pros: The staff is incredibly accommodating and recommended a taxi driver for us as well. I enjoyed the clean and simple room without much furnishings. I like it's located somewhat close to Guanshan Station as well. There's a lot of food around the main street -- He Ping Street.
Cons: The staff didn't know too much about Jiaming Lake and made some incorrect assumptions.

Located in Luye, Lu Ding Ji B&B is within a 5-minute drive of Lu Yeh High Land and Xiazhongli. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: First impression of the entrance is misleading. In fact this used to be tea farm. The young couple that took over the business of their parents are very friendly. The rooms are very clean! Airo, Tv, hot shower everything functions. As you enter you feel at home with a cup of tea. The breakfast is freshly made and tastes delicious. We got lots of info on where to go dining etc... This young couple speaks english, which cannot be said of most hotel owners in the area. Grandma lives nextdoor. If you like a quiet place to relax, this is the right spot.
Cons: The place is easy to reach but it is not obvious to find it. Google maps gives a false location. The gps coordinates however are correct. The hotel owner should place a signpost in english alfabeth so it is easier to recognize.

Pros: It was one of the best hospitality I ever experienced, far better than 5 star hotel. The host upgraded us when we arrived to a bigger room and provided free bikes. The rooms are renovated, big and super clean. In the evening the host offered to take us by car to a restaurant with the best rice in Taiwan. And the next day we got a breakfast to our door. It was super sweet because the host had to ride a scooter for 30 minutes just to jet us the best egg pancakes in the region. I highly recommend this place. Also the nature around is magnificent.
Pros: Nice and helpful staff. Free bicycles for those who'd like to ride the beautiful bike path that passes near the hotel. Nicely furnished rooms.
Cons: I think a more thorough cleaning would go a long way. Lots of dust under the furniture and in the corners. The wi-fi was incredibly slow in my room. I didn't stream movies, just wanted to check the emails. The breakfast starts late (for me), but they brought me a bag with some food in it.
Pros: Donglifang is a nice guesthouse. It's not luxurious but our room was spacious, reasonably comfortable, and clean. The owner is really nice and speaks English. We really enjoyed riding the bikes around town; it was wonderful. The owner stored our bags for us after checkout, we rode the bikes until early afternoon, and when we came back he offered us a ride to the station. That's hospitality.
Pros: The owner-manager of the B&B was very kind, friendly and helpful. The location was very good, just a 5-minute walk from the train station and shops (including convenience stores) in one direction, and a 5-minute walk from Guanshan Waterfront Park and the bicycle trail in the other direction.
Cons: I had a room facing the road, and found the noise of passing traffic quite disturbing. I would want a quieter room at the back if I stayed there again.
Pros: The manager at Donglifang B&B went the extra mile and accommodate my last minute requests for a room on the ground floor as I hurt my leg. He also brought us to a restaurant with his car which I am most appreciative of.

Pros: Kids really enjoyed the stay in this hotel. good pool and great valloon experience.
Cons: Breakfast and dinner are not very good. Cheap products and not really nice buffet. Public bath are only for adults... very disappointing when you just booked this expensive hotel for the baths and you can’t go!!! Terrible value for money.
Pros: The private hot spring bath
Cons: The blinds for the toilet are not fully covered.
Cons: swimming pool is a little bit muddy, the public spring pool is very humble. the night time event beside the swimming pool is not so fun.
Pros: The breakfast offers lots of homemade and organic food. Service and food from low-carbon restaurant was reslly good.
Cons: The buffet dinner restaurant (same as breakfast restaurant) was closed during our stay for 2 nights and we weren’t informed when check-in. We walked in to low-carbon restaurant and the staff told us that we need reservation to dine in there, which was informed either when check-in, wasn’t really happy about the situation considering we just want food and most of the closeby restaurants are almost closed. Luckily, the staff at the front desk helped us to communicate with the restaurant and we finally had great food there!
Pros: Beautiful room and bathroom with vue on mountain
Cons: Acoustic isolation of the door, the alley open to a huge lobby = resonance The restaurant closing at 08.30 pm even on new years evening
Pros: The hotspring tub in the room was nice.
Cons: I called the front desk but no one ever answered. Had to go down to front desk 3 times and each time I got a different answer: front desk was too busy. I was supposed to dial 9 before dialing front desk. But nowhere on the phone says that! If you have a button on the phone marked "front desk", aren't you supposed to just press that button to connect?!
Pros: The private hot spring pool in the hotel room was nice.
Cons: Huuuge hotel. Not worth the money, totally overpriced. (We went between Christmas and New Year, so it was even more expensive.) The rooms look much nicer in the pictures than in reality. Dinner at the restaurant was a buffet for 700 TWD per person. All kinds of food, but mostly cold and not very tasteful.
Pros: Room is not very clean, but the breakfast and dinner buffets are beyond the expectations.
Pros: Spacious rooms. Spa in room. Nice balcony.
Cons: - Breakfast buffet is only Chinese. There are no western choises! - Swimmingpool is closed from 10 to 15.30 every day. - Swimmingpool is closed every tuesday for cleaning since they empty all water from the pool. This important information does not say on booking.com. - The hot air balloon experience cost 1,100 TWD per person but will only give you access to the balloon for 5-10 minutes while the balloon has been fixed to the ground. - There was a very bad smell of garbage in front og our room (236). - All rooms have a kettle but they don’t provide coffee but only tea. - Only one employee speaks english. Very disappointed about the hotel and I honestly don’t think it deserves 5 Stars!

Pros: Feel like home Thank you David for everything Hope can see you soon
Pros: First impression, it was like Dracula’s lair in the movies so it might not suit everyone but it’s something different for me and i found it to be interesting. It’s a huge old property with an empty Swimming pool. Macro Photographers, this area near the pool u can spot damselflies, dragonflies, butterflies, moths and larvae in the comfort of shade as the weather could get pretty hot. David, the caretaker took care of my stay. He was Super! We used Google translate to communicate. He helped to pick me up from Luye Gaotai to the hotel as there were no buses available. He also brought me to some nearby attractions the next day and back to Luye Station.
Pros: quiet and nice stay here, little far away from downtown, but still highly recommend if you are looking for a traditional housing to spend for few days. Bus station just few mins walk away for you to go downtown or even Taitung city, staff there all very nice and willing to help. Just one thing to remind, if you need cup noodles, snacks or drinks, please bring together with you before you goto hotel, as they have a drinks machine with few choice only, otherwise, you have to go back to downtown for shopping.
Pros: The location was good and the scenery beautiful. The service from staff was good.
Cons: The property is old and needs a renovation. Our bathroom smelled of sewage, the kettle was dirty, the swimming pool was empty and the breakfast wasn’t good.
Pros: Very helpful and friendly manager, truly went advice and beyond. It's a quirky property that is a bit like a Studio Ghibli film setting, wood everything. Quiet and peaceful at night. The people in this entire region are so friendly. Each apartment was huge. Great for a family or larger group looking to save some money.
Cons: The location was less than great. If you have a car no problem. But it's about $150 TWD by taxi from Luye station and nothing but farms around. Everything if note begins about a nice flat walk of 20 minutes. Also, you might need to resort to Family Mart meals for some evenings. We're not sure they had a dinner service, though there was a breakfast buffet.
Pros: Nice service!
Cons: A bit expensive and no bath towel. Use disposable towel only!
Pros: Thanks to Jimmy and the rest of the staff we had a wonderful experience in Lyue at the hot air ballon festival. As we were lost and abandoned by our taxi, somebody from the staff came to pick us up and later Jimmy drove us to the train station. They are kind and more than adorable people.
