Pros: First class fitness center, comfortable rooms, excellent service by staff. Like the layout of the restaurant. My go to place from now on when I am visiting the area.
Pros: with club sport connection - good facilities for excercise/relaxation
clean, well-tended facility
Cons: only valet parking - or try to find something out on the street and walk...
Pros: This hotel has functionally become my second home. My husband and I are both from the bay area and this is the perfect spot central to all of the grandparents. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The service is excellent.
By far, my favorite thing about this hotel is that it has an amazing gym with everything you could possible want. The kids world, made my children want to move to Walnut Creek, they loved it and want to know when we are coming back!. Cant say enough about this place, we love it!

Pros: Great rooms for a family. Nice accommodations. My kids love the breakfast.
Pros: The rooms were clean, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and an extra blanket provided. Everything I used in the kitchen and living areas worked well, and the room was efficiently designed. The front desk staff was extremely pleasant, the made-to-order omelets were very good. I liked the close proximity to eateries and easy freeway access. Ample parking. Key card readers at all exterior doors worked well (not always the case, so happy to see).
Cons: My room had an extremely noisy bathroom fan and the shower did not drain properly, so I would stand in 3 inches of water at the end. There was no ice when I got in, so I turned on the ice-maker, which was very loud the first night. The noise from the adjacent rooms shower was a very high pitched squeal (they showered at 5am).
Pros: Our room was fantastic. We paid a little over $100 and we were put in a room with a nice chaise lounge, a comfortable King bed, and (to our surprise) a kitchenette larger than the one in my first apartment! It comes stocked with all of the dishes, utensils, pots and pans you need to cook full meals! The staff was helpful, and they had no problem accommodating my request for no down pillows (I'm allergic). Overall, it was a fantastic stay at what felt like a luxurious hotel. We will be looking to stay here again when we come back to San Francisco.
Pros: The room was very spacious. Liked the full kitchen, it's very helpful when traveling with children. Very quiet and relaxing at night, complimentary breakfast was great, convenient location with shops, theaters and restaurants within walking distance. The room was spot clean, overall a great experience.
Cons: The shampoo and conditioner didn't work for me and it would have been nice to see a little more color in the room(my personal preference).
Pros: The gym and breakfast was the best. It was also great to be so close to dinning and the freeway.
Cons: Maid service never came. Was a little disappointing.

Pros: comfortable bed. Great shower and bathroom. clean. The front desk people were very pleasant.
Cons: Only one sink. no refrigerator. for two nights our phone didn't work and after 2 calls they brought a new one that did work. The cheapened it up a bit. No longer have a free breakfast like they did a year or two ago. Bunch of noisy teenagers with a ball team on Saturday night. Not as good as when we stayed a year ago. Breakfast with eggs was $14--no thanks. Still a decent place but not 5 star
Pros: Staff very friendly
Cons: No fridge in standard room
No usb outlets
Very hard, lumpy uncomfortable bed
No separate recycling bins in room
Pros: Courteous staff. Ice machines. Dining area.
Cons: Would have liked a small refrigerator in room. Would have liked free snack, fruit and yogurt with coffee in the morning. Would have liked block out curtains between the exercise area and the bar/entry area. Would have liked exercise bikes facing out, so that athlete doesn't have to face wall, having people watch her backside bounce on the treadmill.
Pros: What did you like?
You were one of the only hotels with an indoor pool in the area. We booked two rooms next to each other for our family and a group of teen-age friends. With the door open the rooms felt like one contiguous room; it was easy to go back and forth. The outside patio was very nice and no one else was using it. The front desk staff were very nice. We liked the lobby; it had several areas, including a fireplace that felt homey. The housekeepers were very courteous.
Cons: What didn't you like?
Pros: Clean with friendly staff easy walking distance for myself which is hard being disabled.
Cons: So close to the freeway our view was of traffic all day n night
Pros: Very clean
Super comfy bed
Very close to fwy
Cons: Room was a bit small

Cons: First, had to move rooms, heat not working in the first. Second room, some TV channels not working. The place is newly renovated but the work is marginal in places, for example, in my room the composite floor planks (no carpet) had gaps to the subfloor. Been at this hotel a number of times, not sure its the same.
Pros: Hardwood floors, bath amenities
Cons: noisy room, clicking sound all night, I was in a room located behind the elevators so I heard them running THE ENTIRE NIGHT. Updated hotel but I doubt I'd stay there again.
Pros: I love staying at the Walnut Creek Marriott! Every time I stay there the staff shows the most gracious hospitality. I always feel like I'm visiting friends every time I'm there. I am very particular about the hotels I stay in, and this is by far my favorite one. My room is always clean, and the area is always quiet. I can't think of a problem I've had that the Marriott staff resolved without issue because I've never had a problem with any of my reservations, room service orders, or special accommodations. Oh! I can remember that my most recent stay was the result of an unfortunate situation, and the staff gave me a complimentary $10 credit for a drink at the bar. I know it's small, but the gesture was nice; they acknowledged how upset I was and made an effort to brighten my day... that drink definitely helped! They new I needed it hahaha
In any case, Walnut Creek Marriott is and will always be my first choice.
Cons: Price of breakfast
Pros: Good location to freeway. Decent rooms. A bit overpriced for what you get, but in range for the area.
Cons: Valet parking only @ $21 for one night. What they didn't make obvious is that there is free parking nearby.
Pros: The service was outstanding
Cons: The rooms could use updating

Cons: I was quoted a rate of $189 for tow rooms--I confirmed the rate when I checked in --When I checked out the first night was 189 but the next three were $193 --I know its only a $24 difference but it's the sort of experience that sticks with you --
Pros: I really liked the breakfast, the fact that there was two separate rooms with a pull out coach was amazing too. Really pretty pond through out the hotel.
Pros: Excellent service
Cons: Room a bit warm on 8th floor

Pros: To be fair I'm a Marriott person and the Walnut Creek Marriott was full. This hotel isn't bad at all, it's just not the Marriott! ; ). Clean and kept, just if you are a light sleeper, make sure you don't get a room facing the freeway.
Pros: Great prices, clean, excellent buffett breakfast, good location, and parking garage! Loved our stay!
Pros: extensive breakfast, plenty of food
afternoon cookies, a nice touch
free parking, a real plus
room clean except for carpet near bed :(((
the building is a little 'old'
Cons: see comments on other side
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very patient with us sorting out the various family names, who got what rooms that multiple bookings thru hotels.com caused.
Cons: Key card glitches. Seemed like every time we left our rooms someone's key cards weren't working when we returned. Also, rooms could use a little updating, starting to look a little worn.
Pros: The lobby obviously had been renovated. The breakfast was a cut above for that kind of establishment.
Cons: When checking in I was told that I wouldn't get any IHG Rewards points for my stay. Apparently, if the reservation is made through Hotels.com, there are no rewards points given to the guest--the very person who is paying the bill and to whom the points should be given!
I don't care through whom I book a hotel room; I don't even think about it. Hotel rooms are booked through some sort of intermediary all the time. That's how the hotels fill their rooms: they use booking agents to get their rooms in front of the biggest audience of potential customers--duh!
The most irksome thing about this is I purposely chose the Holiday Inn Express OUT OF LOYALTY. Why would I ever chose an IHG property again when they don't count every stay I make, every dollar I give them?
Pros: Everybody was very polite and made us feel welcome. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a pleasant stay.
Pros: Location is convenient.
Cons: Check-in staff has as much personality as a cardboard box. Hotel isn't super clean and lighting fairly dismal.
Pros: We were thoroughly pleased with our stay. From the breakfast and lovely grounds, to the extra friendly staff, our time there was very enjoyable.

Pros: Updated furnishings inside the room (queen bed, microwave and frig, Jacuzzi bathtub) with exception of two old, worn arm chairs. very good bathroom facilities.
Cons: No noise insulation, small, tight parking lot, other guests warming up their diesel pickups for 15 minutes at 5:30 am. No complimentary breakfast. Inconsistent maid service. No cable TV guide in room.
Muir Lodge Motel puts you within a 15-minute drive of Waterworld California. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and freebies like WiFi, self parking, and wired Internet are added perks. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves.
Cons: Small, noisiest motel, might have had flees and lousy TV with cramped screen images.
When you stay at Diablo Mountain Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Waterworld California. Guests looking to stay active can check out the nearby hiking/biking trails and mountain biking, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 7:30 AM and 10 AM. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: They had complimentary cookies and popcorn at check in. Our room was very spacious and clean.
Cons: On the first try our key card didn't work, then after our key was reprogrammed we were not able to get in, the bathroom door blocked the entry way. The staff was super busy with checking people in and there was no sense of urgency to get us in our room.
Pros: Fairly good location.
Cons: 1) Ant infestation in room.
2) Small bathroom sink. No room to put toilet items.
3) Breakfast was terrible. Watery scrambled eggs, cold potatoes, same menu every day. Low quality selections.
4) Asked for quiet location and was put into one of the busiest areas on first floor near employee area, laundry and renovations. They completely ignored the request.
5) Was there over a year ago where they were replacing carpets on 3rd floor. The project was still not completed on all floors.
6) Was able to open a window to get fresh air, but there is no screen installed on the window.
7) Heard a story that a local inspector was threatening to shut them down unless they quickly implemented corrective actions. One gets the impression that the owners are cheap on preventive maintenance and only respond when forced to. The hotel seems busy, and so I speculate that they are making money and could afford renovations on an ongoing basis if they wanted to do them.
8) Very limited selections on TV.
Cons: No iron in the room, but there was an ironing board.
Smelled a bit.
Sketchy dudes hanging out in the lobby from 8pm until at least 11:30 when I went to bed. Not sure if they were undercover security or if watching Netflix on their phones from the lobby is better than being in their own rooms.
Pros: friendly staff, very clean and good access to local restaurants
Cons: smoking room, I am surprised there is smoking allowed in a CA hotel?
Cons: the Saturday day clerk was indifferent to another customer and myself during interactions
Cons: Poor wifi remote to tv didn't work tv screen kept jumping towels smell
Pros: Nothing didn't stay after seeing room conditions.
Cons: Stains on the sheets and strong smoke smell made us leave after we saw our room. Building was falling apart. Worst hotel I've ever been to glad I didn't stay the night. Wouldn't recommend.
It's always a great time to visit our fabulous Martinez hotel in sunny California, where fine dining, shopping, the Amtrak Station, and downtown are right down the street. Hotels in Martinez strive to reach the bar set by our accommodations. Named after John Muir, the first naturalist who started Yosemite and Yellowstone National Parks, we're all about embracing nature. Hiking and biking trails abound near this Martinez hotel. However, we're also close to the marina for great fishing. John Muir Martinez led this area when it came to celebrating natural beauty, but we don't skimp on pampering. Martinis on the Plaza is an annual event. This favorite cocktail drink was invented here. The annual King of the Country BBQ and Music Festival is a classic. Bass fishing tournaments are fierce in this neck of the woods. If you're in the mood for some cultural treats, check out the national historical site that features the John Muir Association, his home and park. The friendly staff of this Martinez hotel are happy to help guests plan the ideal getaway. No other hotel in the Concord area boasts this kind of attention to detail. This Martinez hotel hosts numerous business travelers who are looking to add a dash of adventure to their trip. Employees of Contra Costa County, Shell Oil Company, Kaiser Permanente and the Veterans Health Administration call us home while they're on (and off) the clock. Complimentary full breakfast is served daily. There's no better start to your day. Book your next trip at the Best Western John Muir Inn and enjoy a vacation that blends nature with nurture!
Pros: The room was great! Nice and clean. Nice tv and good location.
Cons: The staff when we checked in was a bit rude but the man who checked us out was very nice
Pros: The pillows were ok, so was the shower.
Cons: Just don't stay here, unless you have to for maybe $50

Pros: Rooms have been updated sometime in the last few years, it appeared. My room was reasonably comfortable and included both a mini-refrigerator and a microwave.
Cons: The price of my room was very high for this grade of motel. Some items showed signs of wear, although overall the room seemed reasonably well-maintained.
Located only 30 minutes from San Francisco. Minutes from Marine World/Six Flags, Napa Wineries and John Muir History House and Antique Shops. Complimentary SuperStart Breakfast, Wireless High Speed Internet Access, micro/fridges, 27 Inch cable TV w/HBO, ESPN and free parking.
Pros: just a plain room, nothing extra to to worry about........
Cons: was concerned about police showing up so much......
Motel 6 Walnut Creek is within walking distance to area restaurants. Waterworld USA or Walnut Creek Golf Course are within 5 miles. Enjoy our pet friendly environment and outdoor pool. Wi-Fi is available in all of our modern rooms for a small fee.
Cons: Bugs in the bathroom, people smoking outside the Windows, loud mini fridge right by bed
Pros: Nothing to write home about.
Cons: Careful driving out of premises, right turn only, lots of parked cars...hard to see oncoming traffic. Older facility. Mishmash family owned establishment (Indian owner). Travel Lodge soap, best Western shampoo...whatever can be foraged.
Cons: Comically bad, especially for the nightly rate. You name it: stained carpets, cigarette burned duvet covers, a soiled desk chair, all from the late 70s/early 80s. It's like they're going out of their way not to update/upgrade their facility and rooms.
Compared to the surrounding hotel offerings, this place is twilight zone-ish. Can't imagine anyone returning.
Pros: Convenient, cheap, and clean
Cons: One of the staff was always on his cell phone.
Pleasant Hill Inn puts you just a 5-minute drive from Waterworld California. Guests can take a dip in the indoor pool, and free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves, along with room service and free wired Internet.
Cons: The room was dirty and dank and completely run-down. I asked the front desk for coffee and a coffee pot, and she said she could give me the coffee pot but they were out of coffee. (Funny, huh?) There was no breakfast offered -- even Motel 6 has packaged bear claws and coffee in the morning. This was a terrible value for the money. I would never stay here again.
Cons: It smelled like a bowling ally, there was lots of hair all over the bathroom, things were broken everywhere. It just needs to be tore down and rebuilt.
Cons: This place was disgusting. The staff not friendly or helpful. I would recommend it to anyone regardless of circumstances.
Pros: The pros-the night staff was courteous, except (Andre) who was less equipped to manage his position. The site manager was also accommodating to the situation at hand.
Cons: The lacking or delay in systems, that caused me to be turned away from checking in at a acceptable hour. As well as the custodial employees that should at the mimimum be able to respect the do not disturb sigh clearly posted outside our room.
Cons: My room stunk of stale cigarettes. I tried changing rooms and the next room smelled worse. Avoid this dump like the plague.
Extended Stay America Pleasant Hill - Buskirk Avenue puts you within a 10-minute drive of Waterworld California. Free perks include WiFi and self parking. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators, refrigerators, and microwaves.
