Great location in fun area. Front desk staff was pleasant when we arrived. Patio outside the room. Very run down facilities. Black mold around the air vent, peeling paint in the room. Seemed dingy overall. They didn't tell us about the $7 parking fee until we checked out. Very overpriced for the condition and quality of the hotel. (We paid $121)
The historic site was really interesting. Loved seeing the old trains and the depot. Dinner in the pizza rail car was fun. Very unique setup! Breakfast buffet closed one hour earlier than published on their website. Normal room prices are too high...wouldn't have stayed without the deal through Kayak. They charge an extra $7 per day for parking, which always bugs me at a hotel...they know you have to park so it really shouldn't be an extra charge in my opinion.
Staff was quick and efficient checking us in and giving directions. The Terminal brewery next door was a great stop.
The pizza made-to-order and great.... we took it into the bar and had a beverage with it there !! There was history all around. Not enough time to see what was offered on site
The grounds were a sight to see, especially decked out for Christmas -- pretty gardens, ice skating, beautiful main building with its restored foyer -- all near Warehouse Row and right beside the free electric shuttle buses. The non-train-car rooms were outdated, with extremely thin doors and walls, and the hardest beds I've ever slept on - the floor would at least have been supportive while being just as hard. No complementary breakfast; the breakfast buffet, while open, is $10/person plus beverages and tip.
Location. Easy to get on the bus and get anywhere It was like staying in a motel. The beds were awful....We woke up early just to get out of there. Pimple juice on the mirror from a previous guest...everything seemed to be falling apart...just needs a face lift...Wish I had spent the extra 30 bucks to stay somewhere else but since the wedding we were attending was in the hotel seemed like the best option.
Location and music venue It was really rundown And the Front desk was not very helpful.
Price was decent and the location was good being I was going to be in downtown the entire trip. Staff was nice and helpful. Standard room had a strange smell to it, like mildew or something. Random, cheap pictures of train related images on the walls. I bought a candy bar from the machine and just the heat from the machine itself made the bar melt and not really worth eating.
We liked the trains, but thought there would be a model train display or more train themed decorations. The walls were very thin and the staff was not friendly.
Great location in Chattanooga and beautiful gardens and hotel facilities. The buffet breakfast was very poor. The food was slightly cold and tasted stale with very little variety for a "buffet".
Nice location. Nice landscaping Rooms are old and dirty. The shower had hair sitting in the bottom of the drain upon our arrival. The bed was very uncomfortable. The room walls must be made of paper because noise carries very well, and the other guests were loud. My wife and I were barely able to get any sleep as people were running through the halls until 2am. The Choo Choo is interesting, and the location is nice, but I would not stay here again if it was the only hotel in town.
The location and concert venues It was very rundown and overpriced for what it was. The front desk was very unhelpful
I don't believe after paying over $200 a night, we should have to also pay $8 a day to park our vehicle. The air conditioning in the room wasn't working very well.
Great facilities and excellent staff. Indoor pool was key for Spring Break. Was not very close to main attractions in the city and not in a very good part of the neighborhood. Not the best place to walk with young children.
The room was clean Small rooms for the price...... Paying to park...
Location Overpriced. Pictures make it look much nicer than it is. Average at best.
Its a standard mainstream hotel. It was really expensive (150 for one night) and didnt even include parking which was another 8 dollars per day. Didnt realize their was a hostel in town in a better location and much cheaper.
The room was very nice and the beds were comfortable. Having the sauna, steam room and pool/hot tub included with the stay made the price of the hotel worth it. Live music and a fireplace in the lobby made the evening relaxing. The cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. The staff at the spa was not up to par. I have a medical condition and called a week in advance to ask about setting up a spa package that would accommodate my needs. None of my three calls were returned. As for the hotel's restaurant, The Broad Street Grille, was overpriced and the wait staff was terrible. We walked out before ordering because we waiteds so long for service.
Friendly staff, a number of good restaurants nearby, convenient to battlefields
Very clean. Friendly staff. Being charged for parking.
This was a nice hotel, very beautiful on the inside. Great music in the bar room. Valet was super nice. Our shower had very low water pressure and as a female with long hair, this took forever And was very comfortable . also the shower was clogged so we took showers in a filled bath. When they said they would come fix it right away I thought they meant within the hour, but instead it took about 3-4 hours for the person to show up. By this time we had gone out to eat, and have drinks, go back to the room and start getting ready for bed by the time he showed. The hotel said they couldn't do anything for us because we had gone through price line to get our room, which I have never heard that one before. Room rates were overpriced in my opinion, stayed at a cheap motel that has been the same if not better.
Attractive Hotel Good Location Very expensive for the small room we had. Very loud facility - room right by elevators and ice machine and constant foot traffic and loud staff members. The entire hotel was filled with a conference and we were placed in amongst them - many of the facilities were used by the conference. After a late night with lots of loud disturbances we were awoken just after 5 am and forced to evacuate the building. After standing outside for a half hour we were given no explanation on why we had to evacuate other than the 6 fire engines that pulled up - then left shortly after. I'm sure it's a fine hotel - but we just didn't have a good experience.
Room was clean and in good shape. Good size tub and shower. Attractive fire pit outside. Door staff was friendly. The garage's lighting was either mostly lacking or not working when we were there. Coffee in the room was poor.
Lobby and rooms were well decorated. The hotel is in close proximity to Warehouse Row and about a mile from the Aquarium and arts district. Kids loved the indoor pool even if it was small. The hotel could have been somewhat cheaper. We didn't eat here because the prices were just as high or more than top restaurants in town. The shower pressure was obnoxiously strong. We stood in a pool of water because it couldn't drain fast enough. Rooms are nice but a bit tight for a whole family.
the pillows suck
The bedding, the pool area didn't overwhelm with a chlorine smell. Modern interior. The mini fridge in the room was unplugged, not sure how long, so it stunk pretty bad.
Friendly staff, comfortable furniture "Cotton candy" pillows that disappear when you put your head on them.
They upgraded our room without us asking. They were very helpful with recommendations for breakfast. The pool and fitness center were clean and a nice amenity for the hotel. I would absolutely return. The bathroom was small but clean. It is to be expected from a historic hotel.
Excellent friendly staff. room was small
Everything, the hotel was great. Felt like I was in the 1930s.
The decor and carved wood is remarkable!
The room was nice and clean but the heat would not go above 68 degrees. We froze considering it was snowing and in the 30's outside!
Location/Pillows/Check-in staff Poor service from valet staff. Constantly locked out of room. Hair on bed/pillows. Dated decor.
Bathroom could use some detail attention, especially the bathtub. Parking is pricey.
The hotel was beautiful, extremely friendly and helpful staff.
I was getting engaged and the staff did absolutely nothing to make it special or give me their time of day to help with improving my moment. Definitely don't expect anything more than a room key from the staff or their attention. I would have expected the staff to be a little more accommodating, but they are definitely not a 4star staff. This hotel has all the potential to be a better hotel, but the staff and no fridge in the room makes it 3 stars.
It's a beautiful historic place. It's difficult to get around the separate towers. The pool area should be promoted more.
Charming interior and comfortable bed, but not very clean and shows its age.
location downtown was great for our weekend to see and do things around Chattanooga. We saw 2 outdoor concerts in the evening and really enjoy the atmosphere of downtown. No mini refrigerator in the room. Other than that the room, staff and hotel was excellent.
The look from the outside Wrong room. Then then rooming booked was sold out AC didn't work so they had a bring us a box fan. The bath tub would get clogged up and we would be up to our ankles when taking a shower. A nice hotel for the price, then you have to pay for the breakfast. Will not be going back
Seaff. The Shower. Chairs too low in restraint.
Friendly staff Room smelled funny, pool deck falling apart, bathroom dirty.
comfortable, quiet, and clean. Very friendly staff.
The staff and crew were nice. I do not like that the bathrooms didn't have a ventilation duct.
Great hotel, soft comfortable beds Towels are not big enough for the average person
Met my needs, location was good, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was missing some items
The clerk who checked us in wasn't friendly, but other staff was friendly. Room was clean for the most part. Breakfast was okay. I would stay again for the price we paid through Kayak Check in clerk and cheap towels
The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was bare minimum.
Cheep non caring breakfast.
The bed was comfy. For the price, I guess it ain't so bad. Ok first of all, we stayed on the second floor and it felt like it was moving like crazy. The bathtub and tile looked dirty and outdated. The breakfast sucked and if u look behind the front desk, the back where the cleaning crew comes in and out is outragesly dirty. It's horrible. The owner should do something about that.
nice staff, pool poor breakfast, older rooms that need some work, small bath rooms
We were driving from Austin to New York and stopped here for the night. It was very clean and comfortable. Staff was great and friendly. The breakfast area didn't have that many options, however, it was better then others I have stayed at that cost more. We will be staying here on our way back!
Very close to several great restaurants.
Great value for the cost. Very clean, and quite. The outdoor access to the rooms allows for smoking on the balcony. I'm not a smoker, and didn't like having to walk through other peoples smoke.
Nothing No pool chairs....dogs everywhere
Pretty clean for being pet-friendly. The staff was great. Local delivery places that deliver to the door. (we got there late after traveling) Guy at the front desk was very helpful, even had menus for local places. Very pet-friendly(which is why we stay here anyway, most places charge at least 20 bucks for a pet) Just some noise from the hallway when a crowd or a family or any guest walks down the hallway. It kept driving my dog crazy, which drove me crazy, but for the money really no other complaints.
Easy check-in/check out. The desk staff was very accommodating and friendly. Cleaning staff kept knocking on our door trying to come in, even though we had Do Not Disturb sign up and a later check out time. One staff member was snappy to me while eating breakfast.
I like how close its to everything. Les than 10 minutes from Rock city an downtown. The bed an the pillows were really uncomfortable. We were in room 414 an there was a noise like if a dishwasher was on in the other room, we stayed for 3 nights an the noise never stopped.
Staff was rude and seemed bothered we were checking in and didn't even give us directions to the nearest elevator. Room was OK except for pillows were too soft and not enough towels. When we asked for more, again they seemed bothered. And breakfast was a joke. Cold boiled eggs that had instructions to "warm them up by putting them in a cup of hot water", no forks or Condiments, most juice and milk dispensers were out, and when asked if there were any more forks anywhere, again they seemed bothered.
The location. I didn't like how slow the process was to check in and then when I checked in they told me my room wasn't ready. They did do a good job at finding me another one, it took longer than it should have but they did find me a new one, but once I got up to my room it happen to be near the room I was suppose to get and I then realized why my room wasn't ready. It was because the maids were too busy taken selfies of themselves in the room I was suppose to get. Here's another reason why this process frustrated me. It was the night before my wedding and I was needed to get to the venue and I was late due to my room not being ready and I really couldn't help but feel my room would have been ready if the maids weren't goofing off and taking selfies of themselves. My experience wasn't pleasant as I had hoped.
Breakfast was decent. Construction was going on the whole time I was there, so sleeping past 6am wasn't possible. The room wasn't stocked properly and getting clean towels took an act of Congress. Just a miserable experience.
Room was very big, very spacious and clean. Bed was very comfortable!
The staff was friendly, the room was clean and the breakfast buffet was excellent even at 9:30 am. The beds were quite firm.
Across the street from the Children's Museum, walking distance to the Aquarium, close to restaurants and shops. Great views from the rooms. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. The pool heater broke the day we arrived. My children were most excited about swimming! They allowed us to swim in their sister hotel down the street which was very nice. It could not be helped but it was disappointing not being able to use the pool in our own hotel.
Everything!! First stay here but not the last. Love the restaurant that is there and the room was wonderful. Lots to do nearby and plenty of shopping. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful hotel loved our room. The free breakfast was much better then any hotel I've ever stayed at. Checkout isn't until 12 so you don't have to rush to checkout by 10. The indoor pool wasn't heated. What's the point of an indoor pool if it's too cold to get in and enjoy. No Jacuzzi. A Jacuzzi in a embassy suite should be a must!
Just about everything The bar and pool close way to early.
Location to downtown was great Staff complained to each other in front of guests, room was small and even though it was a corner room, it only had 1 window. Only 2 elevators for 15 floors and its shared by the staff (no freight elevators) so wait times were bad. Check-in time was 3pm but room was not ready until 3:45pm. Overall it was "ok" but not what I expect from a DoubleTree.
Staff and cleanliness were above average! The fact I could hear everything happening in the hallway including to kids playing some game at 7:30 am on a Sunday and one guest continually knocking on another guests door while saying housekeeping at least 20 times in two morning.
Payal at the front desk. All the staff was friendly to my family and pets. Gave us an upgrade. Room was clean. Would definitely stay there again! It is time for new mattresses. Otherwise I would have trouble finding anything else wrong. A few more choices on the free breakfast bar?
Close to many activities. No linen or towel refresh.
pool was nice bed was comfortable bathroom was very small
Pleasant place to stay. Clean room. We had to change rooms because the first one smelled like smoke, but they did it without a problem. Nothing
It was not a bad hotel, the staff was friendly and the rooms were small but clean. It's not bad if your just staying for a night or two. Would not recommend for a long stay. Wish the beds would of been a little more comfortable, they need to update there beds. The bathroom is very small. Need to refresh the rooms better.
House keeping left a giant hair ball in the tub and it didn't smell clean. Very small rooms and beds... even smaller bathrooms.
Non-smoking floor Moldy, musty odor coming from the ventilation system; low-quality bedding - thin sheets, skimpy blanket, and comforter with holes from cigarette burns
Very nice room - no complaints breakfast was disappointing. Orange juice was made from powder, no coffee or hot water for tea, a typically poor quality motel offering
I wanted to find zero hairs on the pillows and sheets and towels, but instead I found at least 10 and stopped counting. There was mystery stains all over the comforter; red and white... There were spots on the towels and the floor was sticky. It obviously had not been cleaned between guests and there's no way those sheets had been changed. The room had clearly been recently "remodeled" but it still felt dirty. Despite the remodeling the overall feel of the hotel and the room was unsettling. My friend and I stayed there for about 6 hours total and that was more than enough. We did bond over our mutual hatred of the room, so if you're looking to get closer to the person you're staying with, this is a good place to go.
Indoor pool area was nice and roomy, good area and value Bathroom area very small, breakfast area small and poor quality of food, room walls are thin, easy to hear your neighbors
Overall the hotel was nice. My only issue, of which is minor, was that they charge you to park on hotel property. Thought that was just a nickel and dime fee. Besides that, no complaints. Great hotel.
Breakfast was great - a lot of options! And Jeffrey at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful! Bed was just ok, not the most comfortable.
In making a reservation, you expect not to have to wait to get the room you reserved. I had to wait over an hour and a half past check-in time for the room to be cleaned.
Room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was good. Close to downtown so we were able to walk to most locations for dinner and drinks which was very nice. Close to aquarium, ballpark. Had to tell the maid to service the room. Elevator made weird noises so we took the stairs.
The staff was very helpful. Room was very clean and quiet. Breakfast was excellent.
Great location if you have a scheduled event at the convention center. Good amenities. Bed was uncomfortable. Man at check in was working on computer and told me to what a minute. After several minutes (5-7), when a supervisor came out of the back and asked if I needed help, he then stopped what he was doing to help me.
Air conditioning worked great. First night there was a major fight outside our room. Loud cursing and due to fight, people hitting up against the wall and door (we were in a corner room). When the fight escalated to the point of our actually being concerned for our safety, I called the desk downstairs. It rang and rang, no answer. Police came. Needless to say, many hours before getting back to sleep. Next day, after asking about it, we were advised that it was guests (under a corporate account) and police had escorted them out that night. Also advised, fight had involved furniture being thrown in hallway. We were away from hotel next morning 8-11:15. Husband was in room from 11:15 until 1:00. We both left at 1 and when we returned later the room had not been cleaned. After calling the desk, a very rude desk clerk advised that a sign had been on the door when they came to clean the room and no one could clean the room or change the sheets because they left at 1:00. (Don't know why they didn't come earlier or knock on the door to check about cleaning.) We asked for clean towels at least and got the run around. The clerk even responded after my husband told her how unhappy we were with our stay that, "I hope you won't report this to Corporate." We went to our dinner appointment and when we returned, no towels. I went down to the desk and picked them up myself. Next day, when checking out, we expressed our displeasure with the hotel and service. No apology, no anything. There are several hotels in that area. This is not the service you would expect from a Wyndham, and I can assure you that our business will be going to someone else in the future. (I am contacting Wyndham Corporate.)
We were disappointed that the hot tub was broken. (Only reason we picked this location)
The price and location were great. The hotel staff was friendly. It was clean. The workout room was cramped and had a thermostat locked at 75 degrees.
We appreciated the continental breakfast. I was surprised by the lack of cleanliness. It was so humid in the hotel that all the carpets felt wet. There was also pink and black mildew all around the mat in the tub.
Everything was great except the shower pressure was non existent!
Nice, new and very modern hotel..really deserves a higher star rating! Hotel was good BUT had to get a cab to go to the local bars...AND Chattanooga pd is VERY unprofessional when it comes to handling minor situations, they are quick to become over agressive..stay at the HOTEL plenty of good people there to stay entertained!
My husband and I appreciated the spacious suite and easy walk to downtown attractions. Our kids enjoyed the pool and free lollipops. We'll definitely be back.
The room was wonderful and spacious! Loved the walk in shower! Close to everything and with a view! Nothing

Funky design and layout. Riverfront was nice, but very limited views. Happy hour in the lobby was great. Poor location, not near downtown at all. No shuttle to the downtown area. Very odd room layout. Impossible for one of us to get up early and use facilities without disturbing others. Wifi was almost useless, even though there was a great wifi signal
The rooms were clean & beds super comfortable. The complementary hot breakfast was very good. My kids loved the pool. Most of the staff was friendly.
Very clean facility in a great location. The staff were at tentative. There was a great breakfast. Nice safe location close to restaurants and shops No hesitation recommending this hotel.
Pool was nice and warm for the kids, the location was awesome- right next to the museum and a very short wall to the aquarium. The staff was helpful and the breakfast was nice ($10 per adult, kids 6 and under free). We used roomservice one night for dinner because our infant was too tired to go out. Very convenient and very good. The staff was always SO helpful Parking was $8 per day, and the overflow lot was across the street in a parking garage. The first room we checked in to was nice, but someone had used the restroom and CLOGGED THE TOILET (gross!!!!) before we even got in there. The front desk was going to send someone to clean it right away, but 30 mns later we gave up waiting and asked for another room. Overall the room was 'clean-ish'. But when I check into a hotel, I really expect it to be VERY CLEAN.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, good location. Bar area had no atmosphere.
Excellent service and close to everything downtown
The location was really great. 2 Blocks to the aquarium and great restaurants. The room was mediocre. The 'king' bed was small. Bathroom was also just mediocre. Did not seem work the rate we paid.
The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly! Our room was cleaned every day and we were given plenty of towels. The location of the hotel is perfect if you are planning on taking advantage of all downtown has to offer. We were not traveling with children but it would be the perfect location to stay with kids. The hotel had a pool, fitness center and steps away from the aquarium, discovery center, rock climbing, and river. We plan to come back to visit Chattanooga and stay at the Hilton. Extra bonus- parking was included! We parked our car at check in and never used it until we left. The AC unit was loud and they did not have a safe in the room.
The sink worked Whirlpool nasty / walkin shower did not work / I took my wife on a date once a month we do something different, suite w/ balcony hotel was very disappointing , an pricee, Marriott next time . Cleaning lady should have know shower was broke / filled the whirlpool up cut it on black dirt came out of jets,
The convenient location to the Riverwalk, Acquarium and UTC made the decision easy to stay Hilton. The staff honored my request for a balcony room on the sixth floor and it was wonderful for relaxing in the early morning or at night!
Great location within walking distance of good food, the aquarium and some shops. Extremely clean, room even smelled new. I would definitely stay here again. Nothing, we liked everything.
Great clean place to stay. Everything was new and the staff was very friendly and nice. I was not informed that valet parking was the only option at this hotel. It is expensive (14 bucks a night).
