A large comfortable beach resort built in a grand style years ago but well maintained and operated. Decent breakfast. A short walk to Jelsa with many restaurants and also to a small bay that is a huge sandy beach. Close enough to Hvar town (1/2 hour by car) for a day trip. lease write at least 15 words
Leaving was the highlight The hotel was outdated (I felt like I was in the hotel from the shining). It smelt horrible. The breakfast was very poor. The shower curtain was disgusting. Consequently this hotel was overpriced.
situated beside a beautiful clear water beach, locals were friendly, room was cleaned every day which was lovely. There is a beauty parlor in the hotel which was very reasonable for masage and pedicures! staff were quite unfriendly, the pool bar man was so rude and ignorant if he worked in Ireland hotel he would be sacked! food is gross in hotel but you can eat cheap down in the village so go there. area is very quiet no night life unless you enjoy swaping ur drink for an ice cream!!
The small, shallow lagoon next to the hotel.
Proximity to the beach, fitness facilities, provision of half board No hot water in the morning
very delisious food no
The hotel views were incredible. Very secluded and relaxing environment. Access from the east (not Split) after a brief car ferry ride was via a very primitive 35 mile blacktop-nolines-no guard rails) ride. Be prepared. The ride was worth it but difficult.
The location is great. Breakfast was very good. Free parking place. No ac, no internet... But did not miss it so much
Hotel was difficulty to find. It appears that hotel may have changed name. Maps had another name on it. No signs from street. Needed to walk up steps to hotel to see name. Then needed to walk up to the next floor to find reception. There were no signs.
Nice location. Considerable facilities for the price, however during our stay the internet was not working and the pool being filled. During our stay the internet was not working and the pool being filled.
A beautiful area with access directly to the promanade and beach area. Pool area are delicate and well maintained.
I loved the gymnasium and spa facilities. The bowling alley with the pool tables was good entertainment for the evening and the nightclub although quite was nice to have on your doorstep particularly as you could not hear the music even fromt he lobby. Situated just on the promanade made it quite romantic and also gave me a great place to do some running without looking too hard for suitable area. The beds were extremely comfortable and large and it was fantastic that we could defer the room cleaning until later in the day so we could relax and not have to rush out of our room As i pesonally like to run before breakfast i would love it if the hotel breakfast ran until eleven in the morning to allow me to do this and eat afterwards, but no problem. I would also like the wifi in the bedrooms to give me privacy to skype
Fabulous beach Zlatni Rat - 500m away. There is also a beach next to hotel. Not in the city center, but quite close. No wireless internet in the room, only at the lobby
absolutely loved the layout of the hotel and its location. Loved the bowling. The staff were very rude. I kindly asked for some cutlery to be brought up to my room but was rudely told to come down to reception to get it myself. Then had it delivered to my room anyway. When checking out I asked for the total cost of room instead of a break down and was rudely spoken to very unprofessional. Staff definately need more training on customer service because its a great hotel in a fabulous location. Thank you.
Excellent hotel facilities such as indoor and outdoor swimming pool, very close to the famous Bol beach. Hidden charge: there was a fridge in our room inside which were few drinks; water and wine. I assumed they were included in our room since there was no sign of extra charge. You see free drinks in some hotels and I assumed it was like them. At the end, I was asked to pay for the drinks I had from that "mini bar" in our room! Finally I paid extra 85 Kuna.
I enjoyed staying at Hotel Elaphusa. In fact, this was one of those vacations where I just wasn't ready to return home. I appreciated the affordability of the hotel. I thought the rates I found through booking.com were very fair considering that this hotel has a lot of amenities. We were very close to the beach and not far from Zlahtni Rat Beach. My husband really enjoyed the hotel gym, saying there was quality equiptment to use. I enjoyed the spa, indulging in a pedicure and a massage. We also used the Kids Club to have some time alone during our stay. The staff is great with kids and my daughter loved it. I wish the kids program was longer than 1 and a half hours, but it is free of charge. Best of all, we really enjoyed the hotel dinner. The buffet was really big with a huge variety to chose from. We knew that breakfast was included in the price of our stay, but we were not charged for dinner either. Breakfast is decent, but not as elaborate as dinner. Overall, I feel like our family really enjoyed this hotel stay and we would most definetly stay here again. We didn't like the way the air conditioning in our room worked. You had to have the sliding balcony door closed in just the right way or the air conditioning would switch off. I can't tell you how many times my husband got up and had to try and fix it. He was very frustrated by it. The beds were the typical two doubles pushed together. I'm not sure if they had wheels or if they just slid on the floor, but they kept sliding apart, making it difficult to snuggle. I also felt like the staff at the front desk was a bit rude during check-in and check-out. Perhaps it was the language barrier.
We had a great stay. The rooms were really spacious & the bathrooms great. We have absolutely nothing to complain about. Only wishing that we could stay longer than 1 night.
location, rooms, cleanliness reception staff were a bit rude at times and didnt fully understand what we were saying which made it difficult
The location is perfect, and the hotel has everything you could want for a relaxing holiday as a family or a couple. The staff are very freindly and helpful.
Good location close to the sea, many tennis courts, friendly staff. The standard double room is a bit small.
both location and facilities -
Good location, close to the beach and walking distance from the port area and Zlatni Rat. Rooms are a bit dated, but we didn't spend much time in them. My only complaint is that our bathroom had a strange, unpleasant smell.
The cleanlyness of the blue matresses on the sunbeds were not done! Colud be a lot better.
Fantastic hotel with fantastic setting. Very friendly staff. Near beach. Very good food. Lovely apartments. Very relaxing and quiet in comparison with the mainland hotels. A lot of stone steps wich was a bit dangerous for our toddler and the mattresses were a bit too soft. Ferry was very busy so we had to wait for the next one to get to the island.
Location excellent, the hotel staff very helpfull, hotel very clean, the standard of food excellent and the childrens reps friendly. Nothing I didnt like.
The hotel is good but the food is excellent.
Staff were excellent, hotel is very clean and comfortable, pool area was very nice. Very close to beach and only 10 minute walk to the town centre. Free internet access was a bonus.
Our Apartment was smaller as expected and a bit old fahioned. Apart from that we had some fun at the pool and the service was good. The Entertainment Crew does a really good job!
The hotel staff was very helpful, people at the reception were very nice and spoke English, Italian and German very well, so there were no comunication problems. The rooms were OK, not very large but large enough for our expectations, and they were extremely clean. The food in the hotel retaurant was excellent, there was also a very good restaurant on the beach near the hotel. The surroundings were lovely - the hotel is situated in a wonderful garden and is very close to the beach. We've only stayed for 5 days but it was a great experience, especially as we learned wind-surfing - there are at least 2 places where we could rent the boards (with instructor) on the beach near the hotel.
Perfect location for beach and short walk along promenade into town for evening dining. Good choice.
have to walk 5-10 minutes to Bol but uts a nice walk. the see is half a minute away and there is a kids friendly pool at the hotel
Nice views Very pooor service, breakfast below standard, this hotel makes it a habit to sell the clients a double room with seaview and when you arrive they will tell you that they are overbooked and try to put you in an apartment. We heard from the staff that is a normal procedure. Rooms very bare and absolutly not 4 star! Never again.
The location of the hotel is good. The view from the room with the sea view is wonderful. Good beach not far from the hotel. Good restaurant. The shampoo and soap have not been replaced when they've run out. There is some fish smell from the sardine factory.
Excellent hotel, right on the cliffs by the water. Nice breakfast, nice design, good service. I recommend renting the hotel rental car and go around the island, was fun. In the midmorning you can feel the smell from the sardine factory near the hotel, not too disturbing, rather pretty funny.
Beautiful hotel, lovely location in a small seaside town away from center of activity at Supertar. Great staff My friend and I treserved 2 double rooms, but the hotel did not honor our reservation. We shared a room. We were OK with that, but wanted the hotel to compensate us, since we did not get what we reserved. The hotel made no compensation, and actually charged us more for the room on a per-person basis thatn we would have paid had we gotten our individual rooms! We were very disappointed and in all honesty, feel that we were deceived.
Very comfortable accomodation.
Wonderful location overlooking the harbour, friendly staff who went out of their way to be helpful, spacious room, excellent food. Postira itself is delightfully 'untouristy' even in the middle of August.
The staff was really exceptional. The serving staff for meals greeted us the first day and quickly learned our preferences. The would provide the things we usually asked for at meals without our asking after a couple of days. The staff really worked hard to make us feel like 'honored guests'. The room was excellent and very well maintained. We would have liked more comfortable chairs in our room, especially on the patio. Both of us had to do some work during our stay and the metal chairs were difficult to sit in for long periods of time during the day. The couch was nice, but not the kind you can really relax into as it is just a bit short (not in length, but in width).
This is the 5th time I have been in Croatia, and the Lipa made this (among other factors) the best oliday so far. The staff are extremely hard working, attentive and pleasant. We want to and will go back. I have already recommended to others. The sofa in the bedroom is a bit too short.
The Fontana is rebadged now as the Adriatiq Resort and actually consists of 3 separate hotels that are now under one management. We stopped in what used to be Hotel Jadran, nearest the town (3 minutes to the harbour) - the Jadran looks like a communist-era housing block so didn't look promising but the room was fine if a little worn. No air conditioning though (fan provided). Breakfast OK but uninspiring. Got bitten a lot (not sure if because of the many trees around the site). Reception very badly signed - just keep going up the hill to the road at the top.
Jelsa town - beautiful, lots of lovely restaurants and very picturesque. A massive disappointment this resort - room was dark and dingy, no light in the main room, knobs on cooker missing, no kettle, parasol broke. Round the pool (salt water pool), beds broke, parasols broke, and loose tiles making it dangerous for children. I did complain about the standard of the room, but noone came back to me. I would go to Hvar again, but not to this resort.
The staff were nice The room was horrible, very small, ants in the bed, terrible catering facilities, paint falling off the walls and doors. We stayed one night and cancelled the last 4 nights and got a place in Hvar (much nicer town) for less than half the price. **Do not stay here***
Our apartment was specious and very comfortable...we were very happy with it. The location of the hotel is perfect, close to the sea and not far from a romantic town of Jelsa. We enjoyed our stay very much. Very simple breakfast, the same bread and chease every day, I lacked fruit and better jogurt selection. The restaurant would need renovation and more baby chairs (they had only 2). As well the staff should clean baby chairs time-to-time.
We had a very good price-offer so it was perfect, we had a little studio close by the sea and Jelsa is lovely a perfect place to stay!! the hotel is not really special, but it was comfortable and if you don´t need anything luxery it is perfect, next to the little village and the beaches.
The new rooms and the short distance to Jelsa. We had one very old and dirty room the first night, wich didn´t represent the rooms from the webside. The new room we got instead was good. We can´t recommend the old rooms!
The accommodation was good for the price and was well situated very close to the sea. Lots of steps to get to accommodation - not suitable for anybody in a wheelchair or elderly. Map to find accommodation could have been a bit clearer, especially as we arrived at 1am and it took us approx 20-25 minutes to find our chalet/room. More sun loungers required around the pool area.
swimming in the Adriatic, pilates class, proximity to town & transportation by boat
excellent location, great views, spacious apartment breakfast - 8 euros per person, I would say 'very modest, if not poor breakfast', guests are left on their own upon arrival to search for their apartment and carry their bags, no car access allowed - no paid neither free service offered to help upon arrival with the luggage , not even a luggage cart
the view and access to the swimming the rooms were in need of modernisation
The room was very nice, with a balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel was fairly quiet and we had the whole pool area to ourselves. The hotel was about 10 minutes walk to the main town and about 10 minutes (in the other direction) to the Zlatni Rat. The air conditioning was rubbish and so the room was quite hot. Also the breakfast wasn't great.
the swimming pool and the location the breakfst was not up to standards with other hotels on Hvar, Cres or other hotels in Croatia
great location very helpful staff close to zlatni rat
room was clean and comfortable, swimming pool small but fine Breakfast could be better, would be good if fruit and yoghurt was offered
Room was kept very clean and air conditioned.
Lovely room & bathroom
tha balcony was very good tha breakfast is simple in comparison with other hotels of similar characteristic.
Excellent overall... nice location, nice little pool, silence, clean, stuff is ok, and the value for money is also ok... it was so good that we booked one more night However, the hotel offers breakfast... but very poor and every day the same junk food
The staff were very friendly and the hotel is very well located to the restaurants and beaches. The website actually doesn't do this hotel justice, it is very beautiful and much nicer than the pictures portray. A very nice surprise!
Nice pool and location.
the gentlemen working reception and restaurant staff were friendly, the selection of food was good, my son liked the entertainment by the pool
Friendly staff that is always smiling, excelent and veried food, wide choice of free-time activities, excelent location
Good location ,near beach ,excellent choice and quality of food, very clean. Only locally produced alcohol and soft drinks available ,no others that you could purchase. No Tonic water only in the dining room...so not used as mixer or to drink on its own
Excellent choice of food, very nice swimming pools, good show every night at the pool side, close pebble beach (in front of Bluesun Hotel Borak) only 7 minutes to walk or you can go to the Zlatni Rat (20 minutes to walk) Next time I'll choose september because there is to hot in august
personal staff are so willing to help ..u don t have to ask due to they offer to help u..and of course is very very clean and relaxing
The central location of this hotel and the views from its restaurant cannot be bettered in Bol.
The member of staff who greeted us was very friendly and helpful. He was very appologetic because the hotel was undergoing some refurbishment however this did not interfere with our stay at all. The room was nice with everything we needed however remember to turn on the boiler switch or you'll be left with no hot water for your shower. Appart from that all good.
The location is excellent and although the rooms are not glamorous they are clean and tidy.
good breakfast//good location/good restaurant guitarist in the restaurant in the evenings who played too long and rooms not sound-proof
This is a great hotel right in the centre of Bol. The rooms are basic enough but it was really clean, the staff were helpful, breakfast was good. Our room was very nice - though having a balcony made a difference and not all do.
Great outlook across the harbour. Easy to find and right in the centre of Bol.
