This is the 2nd time we've stayed there. Lovely European property. Excellent restaurant. In a beautiful setting. Golf course wasn't particularly good, but O.K. Rained while we were there, so that probably influenced our experience.
The breakfast and the scenery n/a
The variety of junk and art Nothing in the bathroom exept a bottle of soap on the wall not even a showercap or a washcloth. The hotel hasn't been renewed since about the 60's
Superbly clean, family run hotel. We felt welcomed and appreciated. Room had balcony where we enjoyed watching boats on the Rhine below. Relaxing supper in hotel's restaurant--good, hearty food. Small thing, but the pillows were a bit stiff and thick for my liking.
Spa area, Staff, dinner in the restaurant. We stay in an appartment. The bed is very unconfortable. Service in the restaurant is slow.
Owner very friendly. Breakfast was very good. There was nothing to do or any where to go in the evening. Trafic noise outside.
It satisfied the basic needs. Aparment was plain Jane and dated yet clean. Hotel restaurant and rooms overlooked the Rhine while our apartment was several blocks away. Nice restaurant. Just that furniture while clean and in good condition was cheap. We thought we would have a river view as the web page indicated.
Truly charming hotel. The hotel is in a lovely village, right on the bank of the river Rhine. The rooms are well designed, new furniture, of course all very clean, very nice bedding, super bathroom etc etc. But what is really the winning point is their manager. The lady manager/owner has made our stay very special. It started with her waiting for us in front of the hotel when we were little lost, then giving us a lot of advice about the local events and thanks to her we witnessed a wonderful local festival and firework. The way she treats her guests is of course very professional but at the same time so warm that she makes the stay in this lovely lovely hotel even more special. We definitely recommend it.
It was clean and the view was lovely from our room That there is no swimming pool - everywhere there are signs around the hotel that say SPA or thermal spa - and the swimming pool is empty in a state of disrepair - however the countryside next to the hotel is very nice.
Great hotel, good restaraunt, amazing views.
Superb view from 10th floor! Excellent breakfast! The best all our holiday!
It was an affordable hotel with good service and a nice view. It was a considerable distance from Koblenz
The food was excellent and the room was the best i had ever had.
staff where helpful, breakfast was brilliant plenty of choice, beds where very comfortable meals in the evening where very expensive 25 euro for buffet not including drinks, bar menu was rubbish, not much choice and quiet expensive too. local food is definately worth it
Away from the center of the city nestled on top a hill. Nice view. We booked a Leisure Deluxe room. Rooms are listed as follows: On Wyndham Site: Business Room (30 sqm) Junior Suite (37 sqm) Standard Double (18 sqm) Standard Single (18 sqm) Suite (70 sqm) Suite Deluxe (85 sqm) Superior Double (22 sqm) Triple Room (52 sqm) Notice, the only place the word “Deluxe” exists is the "Suite Deluxe" which is 85 sqm! When we arrived, we were told we would be given an upgrade of a room as our room type was not available. We were given a Triple Room. How can we be upgraded if we booked the best room they had? After complaining about the room, we were told that they only had 2 different room types: standard and business. The business room was the same as a triple. After showing the staff their website, they confirmed that it is misleading but that there was nothing they could do. They had nothing else to offer. One staff member said, if they had a suite, they would give it to us. So I proceeded to go online to find that I could still book a Junior Suite. The room was supposed to have a “deep soaking tub”. We got a 80cm x80cm shower. I'm still scratching from a bedbug bite. Mattress was sagging (we got 2 twin beds and booked a king). The room and balcony needed paint. On the balcony the paint was actually flaking off. The shower faucet was old and deteriorated. The radiator hadn't been dusted off in months. The safe was so small that you couldn't even fit a netbook... no key anyway. The sink was installed lower than code. The pillows were several years old. The curtains would not close. And we were given no maid service the first day because we left the room around noon. 4 stars? Don't go there!
A True 4 star business hotel. Excellent value for the money the room was spotless, the hotel staff very helpful. The location was excellent for sightseeing of the Rhein/Mosel Region. $20 euro breakfast was not included in the price.
Very comfortable hotel. rooms very clean. Helpfull staff. Good location near Koblenz. Nice garden.
Staff should be fluent in English. The rooms should have air co.
We enjoyed our stay because the staff was very friendly and accomodatimg. The hotel is very nice, the room was very clean, and the breakfast had a good variety. The breakfast was costly if you are not a big eater.
great staff. location. decor no
Loved it! The perfect location on the banks of the Rhine. Staff couldn't have been more friendly. Pool a bit small, but otherwise everything just right. Will I go back? You bet!
The location is really excellent The room and communal areas are rather dated and not very clean. The staff not very helpfull
Great as always
The relaxed atmosphere and position of the hotel. Well worth the supplement for a river view.
This is a fantastic hotel. We have stayed here before and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Very helpful staff, lovely room, parking inexpensive at close no wireless connection in room apart from T mobile which is expensive,
The location of the hotel is spectacular, with an amazing view of the river! The staff is very helpful and kind. Eating at the hotel's restaurants is a really good option too. The city is lovely, a very nice place for wine lovers and the hotel is perfectly located to explore all the options that the Rhein Valley offers. The rooms are a bit noisy, both due to the trains on the other side of the river and due to the thin walls. The lack of free internet access in the rooms is also a problem.
Great location, nice rooms, good facilities. Will come again, if in the area. Pool was not open at 7 AM the day I was there.
The position right on the Rhein, with a little balcony was great. The noise between rooms was pretty bad, and although the staff was responsive to inquiries or requests, I have to say their manner was a bit dour
Verry nice staff and good atmosphere, good food and a nice room, overall verry sattisfaied.
Overlooks the Rhine River ! Friendly but facility needs improvements !
We had a balcony room so we enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the Rhein and all the barges and boat traffic also the view across to see all the train traffic. We visited in the fall and the weather was nice so enjoyed the leaves changing. only a short walk to town.
From the moment we arrived we were made welcome by the hotel staff. A wide choice and variety for continental breakfast and the hotel is in an excellent location on the river front in Boppard. There is not a great deal of parking at the front of the hotel. It is cheap for a 24 hour period (only Euro 2.50) but I can imagine that it would be manic to find a parking place in the height of summer.
incredible nature by Rhein, lovely people and very nice evening, with sunset and good atmosphere outside sitting in the restauransts by the riverside. no
excellent buffet breakfast and very helpful staff heating didn't seem to be very controllable - either too hot or too cold
We liked the convenience of the hotel. We had a river side room with balcony, which was fantastic. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful and the rooms were very clean.
owner very frendly ,spoke some english, free drink on arival, very good bikers place to stay
nothing special there was no hairdryer an phone in the room
The owners made us feel at home. It was the most relaxing stop on our trip.
Very friendly owner couple/ staff; nice location. Good beds and a clean room. Excellent value for money No
nice family owned and the food they had was very good!!! the shower is a little small but thats how Europe is
We enjoyed everything about our visit and will tell all of our friends Our timing was bad because the castle tour wasn't open yet!
They offered a nice food.
Breathtaking location, nice wellness area, average service, average dining room Hot room, no aircon, tired dated bathroom, no hotel information in the room in any language, overpriced
We appreciated every part of our stay, beginning with our arrival. Although we arrived well before the regular check-in time, the staff found us a room that we could have immediately. We were first afraid that this new room in the villa would be less desirable than the room we reserved, but we were pleasantly surprised. The view of the Rhine from our balcony was superb. The view from the dining room with its wide windows was also great. We reserved a table for dinner and were surprised when the hostess led us away from the window area. However, we were given a table in a lovely private alcove which also had a view. Generally we found our experience to be better than we expected from the guest reviews we read.
Excellent location with superb views, ok dining room with average service.
The guest room was clean. The guest room was far from reception. There was no porter. There was no explanation about the location of guest room from reception staff when I check-in. That's why I misunderstood that the guest room location is near by reception. After I checked-in, I carried 3 heavy buggage to the in front of reception which locate at the 1st floor. At that time they explained to me about the location of guest room. So that I had to carry our buggage to downstair again. I reserved the restaurant at 8:30, but the restaurant couldn't prepare the table for us on time. After they provided for us a very small table which located close to reception without any tablecloth! The table was too small to put all meals and noisy location. I was disappointed.
The Breakfast was excellent The room was far too hot - should have had air conditioning. No information in English, we did ask but none was produced. The hotel was very overpriced
We liked the convenience of having the castle to explore, a restaurant with views, and our room in close proximity. The free parking was also an added bonus. The view from our room was beautiful! The king bed is actually two twins pushed together. Not to mention, the bed/s were not very comfortable unless you like a hard bed. You are definitely paying for the castle aspect because the rooms were average.
Excellent Location. Clean comfortable rooms. Friendly staff
Convient, historic Buildring going on outside room area, when at 9pm an tired the hotel staff explained they would be working onther hour! Disapointed in guest relations.
Great location overlooking the Rhine right near the KD ferry pier. Really large room, well furnished, good place to stay in St Goar.
Excellent location, spacious room with a pleasant view, very friendly and helpful proprietor. In-room mini-bar would be nice.
There was a wonderful view of the Rhine and a castle from the balcony. Nice variety offered at breakfast. Friendly, helpful management. The KD cruise line docks directly across the street and the train station is a few minute walk. Great location!
The quiet location No id request from the staff, we booked in without showing any identity at all.
This hotel is located in a very good spot in the town. Right in front of the KD boat tour pier of the Rhein river. The cat castle is in a window view. The hotel manager is always asking if there is any problem in your stay.
The owner couldn't be more helpful. He seemed to take a personal interest in every guest. The situation of the Hotel is perfect with beautiful views over the Rhine. A balcony room in the summer would be perfect. Ideally situated for hiking.
Very big room with wonderful view on the Rhein Bit old furnitures in the room. Unpleasant smell in the stairwell, but fortunately not in the room.
Friendly staff, and for once a hotel has figured out traveler's need more than one electrical outlet in their room. The rooms with balconies overlooking the Rhine are extrememely nice, and despite being at the center of town the hotel was quiet.
Stayed in Room 10 overlooking the Rhine, with small balcony. Very large room, but small bathroom. Very clean and comfortable. Hotel is directly opposite the KD line stop. Did not eat in the hotel apart from breakfast, which consisted of smoked salmon, boiled eggs, salami, cold meats, cheeses, rolls, juices and cereals. The owner was a very pleasant man. Very convenient for train also. No.
view from balcony excellent very noisy & frequent trains even during night.
helpful and friendly staff ,wonderful location ,great breakfast nothing
We had Rhine view with balcony - definitely worth the extra. Friendly and helpful staff. Noisy unless windows kept closed (river traffic).
It was a beautiful hotel. Nice staff. The trains across the Rhine River ran it seems like every 20 minutes all night long. We were kept awake so much of the night with the Trains and they were loud. Very noisy and upsetting when you can't sleep. Windows, glass door were shut tightly still could hear Trains. Would never stay at this hotel again because of the location, I would rather stay at another town on the Rhine River.
We enjoyed the convience of the Hotel to the Rhine and to the town. At night the sound of the trains across the Rhine was disturbing.
It was so close to the Rhine none
It was right on the banks of the river. WiFi broadband kept on dropping it's signal and found it very difficult to work. Not a lot of choice at breakfast which was continental. Hot water took an age to come through if you used it in the daytime instead of morning. If you have the window open on the river side of the hotel then be aware that the freight trains accross the river run all night.
Very pleasant and helpful staff. Poor soundproofing and rather small rooms. Bathroom needed refurbishing/modernising.
Excellent value for the price. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast, located only a five minutes walk from train station. We got a very basic double room with bathroom very clean. I didn't try the internet service, so I don't know how it works. They also own a wine yard and make an nice Riesling which you can buy at the lobby. They only take cash, no a big deal just be prepared, plenty of ATM's around
The room was small but had a view of the river over the train tracks. It was clean and everyone was so very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good even though the waitress each morning was not exactly a cheerful lass. She was the only person our whole stay whom did not smile and greet us kindly. All in all it was a nice place and comfortable.
We enjoyed watching the river traffic sail by while we relaxed at the sidewalk cafe. The chef was exceptional.
The restaurant was excellent, and every meal was wonderful!
The town was very quaint. Very convenient to the river cruise. Hotel was quaint. I had booked the rooms for our group and requested a room with a view of the river. I got a view of a ugly roof. My daughter had a great room with a beautiful view.
location and friendly service
Nice location. very freindly staff and good dinner of our three rooms the single room lacked a toilet and one double had no view
The location was very good as it is directly on the Rhine and our room had a balcony overlooking the river. This hotel has been in the same family for 19 generations and you can see how much pride they take in their business. Very creaky floors (but it IS a very old building so to be expected). Our room did not have a bath.
The Hotel was in a great location right on the Rhine Promenade in Boppard. Friendly helpful staff made it a great stay for a few nights.
Location overlooking the river. Very friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast. Bathroom was a bit small especially the shower with shower curtain
I loved that the hotel is right on the bank of the Rhine and is just a few steps from the pier. I had a balcony room which overlooked the Rhine. The rooms are on the small side and the furnings are rather dated although clean. The staff/owner are helpful and friendly. I wish the barrier between the balconies were higher - they are just about waist high so you're basically standing right next to the guests next door if you're both outside. The rooms also allowed smoking so there was a smell in them (perhaps there are non-smoking rooms?). It was a very cosy hotel however and I had a great time here so would definitely come back if I were to stay in Boppard again.
My family stayed at the Hotel and it as excellent. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful the two rooms we had were very clean. we had a room on the first and third floor you can see more from the third floor balcony.
The staff were always happy to talk and offer advice on local amenities.
The staff was really nice and the location is excelent just in front of the river. The breakfast was very nice too and from the breakfast room you can see the beautiful river through the window. Finally, the city is really worthy to visit, with its narrow streets and its view of castles on the montains. Due to a misunderstanding while we were having breakfast the lady came to clean our room, so when we came back everything was tidy as for a new guest, so we felt a little as if we should have been leaving and not enjoying the time left in our room.
Personal touch from the owner, nothing was too much trouble. Will visit the hotel again and recommend to all my friends. Nothing at all, perfect.
The room we booked was a nice bedroom/living room suite, but in the annex, not facing the river. We were able the upgrade to a riverfront room with a balcony for an additional Euro 17 per night, which we felt was a good value. There were 5 or 6 of these rooms on each floor, and I think a group with 2 to 5 adjacent rooms would enjoy socializing across the balconies.
Nice staff, large rooms, great value
View to the Rhein. Maybe the breakfast is not so varied.
Ease of access to the city centre Rooms noisy particularly at night - water pipes, people movement etc
Location to town, view of Mosel from room balcony, food Train noise, especially noticeable at night
the roomj with balcony was excellent. welcom gift was thoughtful. dinner in the evening the food was awful. Kept warm for too long and if you were late down half of it was gone. not replaced. food had no imagination
Very nice hotel but basic. Limited car parking. Staff very good.
Very nice hotel. Great location in Boppart right on the Rhein.
Location on the Rhine riverbank very near to the village centre was superb. Good value for money and would stay there again. We stayed in the main building but would agree with other reviewers that the annexe should be avoided. Staff were friendly but no-one offered to help with our luggage on arrival or departure and it was clear we were struggling - I could have asked ror assistance but shouldn't have had to.
Room spacious, and clean. all facilities were in the main building- difficult in wet weather!
Friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Excellent position for our needs. Hotel generally was a bit dated - could do with smartening up.
The position of hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly and very helpful Parking was very difficult. The hotel car park is very small and we had to spend a lot of time seraching for somewhere to park that did not require us to constantly be paying money into a meter. Decor and furniture in hotel very dated.
Very friendly owners Nothing
A friendly family run B&B close to the centre of Boppard. Very accommadating to all our wishes & excellent for young children. Close to a high speed railwayline which was occasionally noisy
We stayed at the Hotel Pension Boos as it was the nearest, available and reasonably priced accommodation for the August Rhine in Flame festival. Although the procession doesn't go to Boppard, the accommodation provided us with a great base. Hotel Pension Boos was pretty much what I expected, although it's worth noting that it's more of a large B&B or guesthouse than a hotel. As others have said, the parking is also very cramped.
The friendly welcome we received when we turned up on the motro bike. Secure parking for the motorcycle, & a good variety of breakfast, would stop there again.
The owner was really welcoming. Room was very clean and comfortable. There was nothing about the hotel that we did not like. Would stay there again.
Clean, friendly and relaxed and at a reasonable price. We found this hotel ideal for our needs, situated close to the station and not far from the town centre. We would use it again if we travel in this area.
Friendly. Three person room three single beds with part partition wall. Very nice. Could have been just a little more choice at breakfast
Room was very clean and within walking distance to the Rhine River and the shopping area. In a quiete residential area. The mattresses were too hard for our liking. It was warm when we were there so we slept on top the quilt, on the mattress. which worked well for the 2nd night.
easy access by car, secure parking.
the accomodation was excellent with a super terrace to have drinks on.Good security for our motor bike
The staff were so friendly and it wsa such a family orientated environment! They helped us out with everything and anything and were always pleased to see us
This was a fantastic hotel staff very friendly and helpful food excellent
Staff were very friendly. Provided us with complimentary bikes so we could ride up and down the Rhine. As the rooms are directly above the kitchen there is smell of cooking oil in the stairways.
We enjoyed the fact the thay spoke English, that made it easier for us.
Pleasant little family-run hotel in very interesting historical village right on the river Rhine. Very good food with excellent service - clearly popular with the locals. Hotel room rather basic but clean and well maintained
The Food. The Chef is worthy of 41/2 star status ! NA
Everything from the staff, facilities, food, and town exceeded my expectations! This was the first hotel my family ever stayed at overseas and we definitely made the right choice in this friendly family-run business. We arrived waaay early the day of check-in (around 8am) and were offered a space to freshen up, leave our luggage, and return later in the day when our room would be ready. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped (with soap, shampoo, hairdryer, etc. but do bring pillowcases if you prefer not to sleep on naked pillows). The town itself is quiet and quaint with the train stop within 7-10 mins of walking. Breakfast was deeeerrrr-licious with a wide and fresh selection as well as greeaaat coffee. Beds were a wee bit softer than we were used to but really a minor point for us.
Convenient location in a beautiful small town on the Rhine. Friendly staff ..... nice breakfast
good and very clean, staff very helpfull, easy to find off the autobahn, food super very large helpings and good prices
After a hectic drive on the autobahn, we arrived at the hotel in the evening, only to be greeted by the sounds of a choir/vocal group practicing in one of the rooms. What a welcoming sound!! I knew immediately we would like this place. And we did. The staff and owner were extremely helpful and friendly. The restaurant was excellent and the tomato soup is quite possibly the best in the world. The room was clean and just the right size. I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. A great place to start a leisurely drive along the Rhine.
This hotel is ideally situated to visit some of the most wonderful scenery of the Rhein region. The room was clean and the facilities, although limited were adequate for our short stay. The food was excellent in the hotel's restaurant, with the evening meal a particular pleasure.
Excellent food and great views of the Rhine
Very friendely staff, good food, exceptional cleanliness and views of the Rhine river Train and car traffic too noissy, especiall disturbing at sleep time
Friendly staff, absolutely excellent location (next to Rhein river with view to castle), excellently appointed room (facilities, space, view, lighting, etc.), free onsite parking, great breakfast. Nothing. Sorry we didn't stay longer.
Standard Double Room without view of Rhine River. We were given room 9 which had a side view of the Rhine. Good, modern bathroom. Enjoyed a good but reasonably expensive dinner in hotel restaurant. Room was very small and really a single room with a pull out under bed to make the double which was right up against the wall. Room window when open allowed foul smells to enter from toilet/bathroom ceiling outlet in roof below. Very noisy from traffic & trains all night. Don't expect any sleep. An expensive rip-off compared to other hotel experiences in Germany.
The staff was very kind! Nothing was a problem.
It was all fine
Food Staff service very poor, I had to go into the restaurant and ask for a drink which came 20 minutes later, no repeat table service. The three waitresses were inside the restaurant just talking to each other, I strongly felt they were talking about me negatively and laughing at me as I walked past them, this was in German which I do not understand. I am a middle aged man with grey hair and I am not very slim, they obviously found this humerous. I found this most offensive - it ruined my stay at the Hotel. I would strongly advise people not to stay here, otherwise you may experience the same offensive attitude from the staff.
