The business is unfairly competitive, I feel. If I would be critical of Golden Sand Inn, I would say it has room for improvement in room and bathroom amenities. My advice would be to incorporate modern corporate management in the hotel. The bathroom is not completely closed off from the main room so whenever someone needs to use the toilet, the other would wait outside or go elsewhere - quite inconvenient. Room very dark. TV reception poor. Rooms old not maintained well. No kettle. Two plug points. Musty smell. Beds felt. Air condition failed 3 times during two weeks. Mattress was very soft. Room is a little dated but still comfortable! We stayed in a room facing the road and it was very noisy at night. Room was small and height of doors are less than 6 feet, not comfortable for tall people. A little bit noisy with traffic nearby. The photos in the site is deceptive and it’s filled with Russians. The bungalow rooms are extremely small. Room a bit small. Phuket as a whole is expensive in the part of transport. The room was very small and dated and the shower sometimes didn’t work. Was happy. The staff were exceptionally friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The door to our bedroom didn’t shut properly which allowed lots of mosquitos to enter our room at night. We also found a small lizard in our room on two occasions. Other than that we had no complaints and you get what you pay for. The hotel is a little dated but is good value for money. The deluxe rooms back on to the main road so it can get noisy at times. Some mosquitos in the room during the afternoon, due there are a lot a vegetation around. The room was a bit small, but otherwise honestly everything was fine. When we got there the sheets were not very clear, they were full of dead mosquitoes. I guess it is still better than the room being full with live mosquitoes. Cold water is with very small pressure and not possible to mix with hot. In that case just hot is going. A little upgrade would be good, in terms of maintenance. Nit picking a bit though as we would go back there. The room had no security box in the room. The small boxes in front were poor and locked with a key, not accessible to the customer at all times. The place didn’t feel safe and the pool was small and crowded with Russians. Cigarettes everywhere.
