Pros: I absolutely recommend the place if you want to run away form the city routine, truly enjoy the picturesque mountain village in the and feel the spirit of the traditions. The hosts are really warm and hospitable family who receive guests but make friends. The house is stunning: fully renovated Bulgarian Renaissance house from Koprivshtiza with the most modern amenities, but still keeping the original architecture and the best traditional furniture style even in the smallest details. Food is home made and utterly delicious, the suppliers are local which totally changes the taste of even familiar dishes. The yard is a real dream come true which eventually makes leaving it to head back to the city terribly hard :( Next time we will plan a longer stay!

Pros: Great room. Great bathroom. Great spa bath. I’m sure the sauna would have been great too if we had used it. The Bulgarian Rivivalist style of the property in a town of similar styles is very evocative.Loved it.

Pros: The house was amazing.What impreased me was that it had everything you would need: fridge, utensils, tv(which actually worked great, unlike in most places), hairdryer, iron, slippers and even umbrellas. There were heaters everywhere (bedroom, bathroom), which kept us warm in the cold weather. Bedroom was very spacious, cosy and incredibly tidy. The location was close to every point of interest as well as places to grab something to eat. The place is perfect for a couple getaway or a family trip. Highly Recommended! :)

Cons: The only thing we didn't like was the shower curtain, because it needs to be washed once in a while.

Pros: Mariana received us warmly and gave us quick and necessary information for our stay and visit. It was exactly what we needed given the late hour of our check in. The room and washroom were spacious and clean (highly appreciate the architecture of the house - windows on both sides for light and ventilation) Despite our late reservation (2h before arrival), there was good hot water for shower and heating in the room. There was everything one might need (hair-dryer, iron, boiler, cups, clean eating utensils, extra blankets, calmness) We felt free (going in and out through front and back doors - short cut to the centre :) and safe staying here. Appreciated every bit of our stay - especially the elephants!!! (you will understand when you come to Bashtina Striaha!) Best accommodation in our 7 day trip. Thank you Mariana!

Pros: Bashtina Striaha is a lovely house decorated in traditional style, set a few streets away from the main square so everything is nearby. There are restaurants and minimarkets within 3-5 minutes walk. Parking is available on the street just outside the house which is very safe. It is a very peaceful area and really quiet at night - the only thing you can hear (if you have the window open) is the small stream which runs down the centre of the street, it is a very relaxing sound. We were greeted by Mariana who spoke excellent English; she was friendly and willing to chat, and available if we had any problems or questions (we didn’t). Our room had windows to the front and back which made the room light and airy. It was a good size with lots of storage and sockets, there was a small table, stools and a comfy chair. It had a proper double bed which was very comfortable; the bathroom was a good size and there was lots of hot water for the shower. Mariana had thought of everything - even down to the cute elephant towels :-) there was good wifi, a big fridge, kettle, cups, a box of plates and cutlery, iron and even umbrellas - which was very helpful as we had torrential rain in the afternoon and evening (the only bad weather of our trip). The guest rooms had their own staircase and door onto the garden which meant you were free to come and go as you pleased without worrying about disturbing anyone. The secluded back garden was very beautiful and would be a lovely place to sit and relax on a sunny evening after a day wandering the town. Unfortunately we only had one night here - we were delayed by the rain on our long drive, so arrived a lot later than planned and had to leave mid-morning to get back to the airport so we did not have as long as we would have liked. Koprivshtitsa is a wonderful town and fully deserves much more time than just a few hours! We would love to return and explore it properly and if so, we will stay again at Bastina Striaha.

Pros: It was clean and maintained. The host is a nice man. He went on a short tour on horses with the girls. The property is located a side from the center of the town. I walked with my dog in the forest nearby. The views are very beautiful.

Pros: Beautiful building and grounds with abundant flowers even at the very end of September. Neat and tidy. Dena and Maria were delightful, friendly and very responsive to our needs, even without being asked (provided a drying rack when they noticed we were hand washing a few items). We reserved the ground floor suite with a living room and very large modern bathroom. Warm and comfortable even with freezing temp. overnight. Every morning's breakfast was tasty and nutritious and varied slightly by the day, with pancakes (crepes) as part of breakfast each day. Always waiting for us at the hour we said we'd be in the dining area.

Cons: Could have used fruit, either fresh or canned, to help balance out nutritionally. We supplemented with purchases from the little store down the way--very inexpensive.

Pros: An amazing experience! All people working there were very and welcomed us with a smile. The hotel and its garden are absolutely stunning. Our room overlooked the whole of Koprivshtitsa. We had a wonderful vegan dinner and a delicious bottle of red wine (which they recommended). And a freshly made traditional breakfast with homemade jams in the morning. You could see the eye for detail in everything, which is what made our stay so wonderful. Highly recommend them and if I go to Koprivshtitsa again, this is the only place I'm staying in!

Pros: From the moment of our arrival our hosts couldn't have been more helpful. The apartment was spacious, tasteful and had everything you could need. The bed was super comfortable. We had both dinner and breakfast there and both meals were excellent with good choices and professionally served and presented. While the location is a few minutes walk from the town center the location is ideal as it was quiet and peaceful and the garden area was lovely. Wouldn't hesitate to strongly recommend this place for visitors to Koprivshtitsa.

Pros: We found the place via booking.com - it was looking good on pictures, but when we went there we were amazed by the great garden, kids playing zone, sunny rooms and comfortable beds. But what was the most important was the great atmosphere and experience, created by the hosts. They were really warm and welcoming people, who did not spare anything to make us feel at home. Lastly, me and my wife are really picky on food and here we were not let down as well. The morning starts with the most delicious pancakes amd mekitzi with homemade jam and the dinner is homemade vegetarian and meat dishes that you cannot find even in exclusive 5 star restaurants (believe me, I've visited quite a lot of hotels and most of their restaurants are not that good)! So I cannot find words to recommend the place enough - you need to go and experience Diulgerite yourself!

Pros: The garden was very beautiful. There was no bad smell, like some other guests described. Everything was clean. The breakfast was very delicious with traditional Bulgarian meals. The dinner was prepared with local products, no frozen or pre-cooked products. The hosts were very friendly, helpful and professional. If you are going by car, follow the signs in the city as they guide trough easier road. GPS leads via more difficult road.

Pros: Yes, this hotel is probably the most expensive one in town, but it’s worth every cent. Bed was super comfy, room clean and nicely decorated, had a balkony. The reception desk is not occupied most of the time, instead, there‘s a note with telephone number that you can call 24/7. For international guest who pay much for roaming, this might be a downer. The steam bath can be used between 8 am and 8 pm, but you have to give them 30 minutes, so it can get prepared.

Cons: The bed is so comfortable and the bed linen was so nice, it felt like we were sleeping in a cloud. It was difficult for us to get up early and explore Koprivshtitsa when the bed was that comfortable.

Pros: Cute, rustic, peaceful little property in the beautiful museum town. short stroll to main central square. Owner was super friendly and gave us some fruit. Lovely communal balcony with a great view. Well stocked communal kitchen.

Cons: Our 3 bed room was tiny (definitely no place to swing a cat or even store our luggage) but we saw others that were bigger. The bathroom was minute and the shower was situated over the toilet. My son found this entertaining but it basically meant you had a soaked toilet and toilet floor after showering. Required some scheduling of ablutions! The towels were too small and threadbare and the sheets too small for the beds. Having said that however, this was all part of the charm and I suspect this is one of the best properties in Koprivshtitsa. Also note that you have to climb a set of steep steps to get to the bedrooms so not for the old, very young or less mobile.

Pros: The host was very welcoming. Even though we didn't have a common language she showed and explained everything. The room was clean and thought had been given to the furnishings. There is no restaurant on the site but plenty nearby by. Good wifi even though it is a fairly remote village.

Pros: The structure is located just next to the main square of this city in the very heart of Bulgaria; it's a typical wooden two-storey house with a lovely common balcony over the garden, perfect for a drink. My room, actually a triple, was cosy, large and comfortable and so the ensuite bathroom. I advice you to go to Koprivshtitsa and to to this place for a relax and culture holiday, better if with your partner. Nice owner.

Cons: Just a piece of advice to the owner: offering a very good breakfast with the delicious products from the Bulgarian farm: it would be the added value to a stay there. Bars are 5o mt. walking distance from the guest house, in the main square, anyway.

Pros: The transfer from the railwaystation to the center of the village would be, as I understand free of charge, but I had tom pay a little money. Secondley, the guesthouse is 10 minutes walking further than the busstop. With bagage it is no joke. Without bagage walking back to one of the exellent and cheap restaurants is no problem. I did it twice a day.

Pros: The house is located on walking distance from the city centre of Koprivshtica. Our host Hristina was extremely kind and she made for us delicious breakfast - french toast. Our favorite. The room was very clean and tidy.

Pros: Hadji Neikovi Guest House was a delightful place to stay. We spent only 3 nits in Koprivshtitsa but enjoyed it immensely. The host provided a warm welcome and ensured that we were well cared for, without the need to share a common language. Breakfast is provided daily and is different each morning. The accommodation is comfortable a traditional wooden building. The rooms are tastefully decorated, well maintained and perfectly clean. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Pros: This is a lovely traditional Bulgarian house in a beautiful rural setting, with a well-maintained private garden. The proprietor made us feel very welcome. The little town of Koprivshtitsa is a few minutes' walk away, with its restaurants, cafés and public spaces. There are hiking trails offering fresh water springs and impressive views of the surrounding mountains.

Cons: Hot water is barely warm even after 10 minutes running, not enough pressure, smells bad as well. Also, barely saw the hosts of the property. Tried to call and let them know we will arrive late, at about 8pm for check-in, phone was off and I rang multiple times throughout the whole day of arrival. No WiFi password given at the property, nobody to ask a question to for the whole time(2 nights), they only suggested using the number I already had(the one that was constantly off) in case we need something. The only communication that I actually had with them was when the landlady approached me after the first night saying we have to pay for our stay, quoting the sum while I was having a cigarette outside in their garden with my friends. And because I payed for their stay as well, that made it extremely embarrassing for all of us.

Cons: The shower is not separated from the bathroom thus everything gets wet after having a shower which is quite annoying. There is no hairdryer in the room but you can borrow one from the reception.

Lovely, cosy room in a very central location for walking around. Staff extremely friendly and even offered me free breakfast as a bonus! Would highly recommend this charming place with character!

Cons: Shower hot water was a little temperamental at times - it was varying in degrees of heat!

Pros: Nice owner. Confortable hotel, slightly basic. well located, EXCELLENT RESTAURANT and really nice staff.

Pros: A v comfortable junior suite (with fridge). Bed comfortable. Superb fire in the dining room which kept the place warm. Mine host friendly and helpful.

Cons: Visit got off to a bad start as the place was locked, and we were forced to phone. Our rooms were cold, so it suggested that the owner was not well informed about our arrival, indeed we were the only guests. Once all this had been quickly sorted out, we very much enjoyed staying there.

Pros: Very friendly owners. The speak french and bulgarian. Whit a little creativity we could understand each other. Near the old town (2 minutes walk). Very nice spot.

Cons: Toilet room without a box or even a shower, breakfast minimalist not included in the price, but anyway very poor, even for the price proposed (cheap). Needs improvement or offer nothing.

Pros: Room is spacious , clean and smells really good! Bed is comfortable and toilet is clean. Though the owner don’t speak english, he’s really friendly and nice. The location is right next to town center and 200m away from the bus drop off point.

Pros: It is a lovely guesthouse with a pleasant old couple who have absolutely no English (not even understanding the words Booking.com!). Rooms were comfortable, shared kitchen was a good size and there was a balcony to sit and admire the view of the town. We were able to park in their locked yard and walk short distance to the restaurants and attractions.

Cons: Hard beds and a dinky little tiny bathroom with toilet/shower on top of one another. Water pressure was very low and shower was only a trickle. Kitchen lighting was so bad it was difficult to see what you were doing.

Pros: There was secure parking at the property. It was a short walk to the centre of the village which is lovely.

Pros: Charming building, snug room, lovely village setting.

Cons: It would be nice if breakfast could be offered.
