Pros: Swimming pool and sea view were so beautiful
Cons: the room is a little small
Pros: Suite at the Montage was fantastic with views to die for - great property with paths to the beach. The room had a comfortable bed, plenty of closet space, the room was made up at night with turn down service - overall one of our favorite places of all time, ever!
Cons: Food items a little pricy ($100+) for 2 omelets and Belgium waffles for breakfast and while we like nice places to stay we often find that the "high end" food is a little too gourmet for our tastes and we found ourselves not eating on the property after the first day.
Cons: The Ocean View Room was not Really an Ocean view.
We had to spend a lot more to get a slight view of ocean.
Nestled on the beach, this Laguna Beach hotel is within 3 mi (5 km) of Victoria Beach, 1,000 Steps Beach, and Main Beach Park. Aliso Beach Park and Table rock beach are also within 1 mi (2 km).
Pros: Excellent interaction with helpful and professional staff, lovely architecture, location and decor, clean and well-maintained rooms, good complimentary breakfast
Cons: The pool could be cleaned more frequently and maintained at a slightly warmer temperature
Pros: Beautifuly kept hotel and grounds. Beautiful room with fireplace. The staff was extremly accomidating and friendly. Could not have asked for a better stay anywhere!
Cons: There were only a couple of thing with the room that could be better, but they are minute. A second trash can would have been convenient as well as a toilet plunger. The faucet in the sink extended too far out, so washing your face was a bit of a challenge. Small compared to all the amazing things about the room, the hotel and the incredible staff!
At Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of 1,000 Steps Beach and Main Beach Park. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, then indulge in deep-tissue massages, aromatherapy, or reflexology. A terrace and a garden are offered, and rooms at this boutique inn get the details right with premium bedding and down comforters.
Pros: Great staff that are super friendly and accommodate your every need! The rooms are breathtaking! You can't beat the view from your bed! It's just exceptional when you can lay in bed and have a complete view of the ocean! I love hearing the the sounds of the waves splashing under the hotel through the night. It's quite beautiful. It's so easy to jump around back and forth from the room to the beach to the pool and jacuzzi. There is so much to do here. I am absolutely in love with this place! Also the bathtubs are great with jets that completely relax your muscles. I slept like a baby! The beds are super soft with satin sheets and pillow cases. I can't wait to come back soon!!! Real soon!
Pros: Hotel is directly on the beach, and I mean, at high tide, 15 feet from the surf. All rooms face the ocean. Romantic dining restaurant with views of the ocean. There are floodlights illuminating the surf so you can see the ocean while you dine. Below the restaurant is a very cool bar, also, directly on the beach. Excellent location as they say. The pool sundeck is nice and the valet service was good. pool was heated and there is a jacuzzi.
Cons: The property is older and they can charge the money because of their location. You wouldn't pay this amount if the property wasn't on the beach. Byzantine design and labyrinth of hallways makes for a confusing layout and difficult to get anywhere on the property. The pool is not a resort pool and is only the size and shape of something you would encounter at any discount chain motel. There is no separation of brats from the spa and pool so peace and quiet in those areas with your honey will be difficult.
Pros: Location, rooms.
Cons: Customer service could be better, we requested an early check in which they said was not a problem, we got there around 11am their regular check in is at 4:00pm, they told us our room wasn't ready yet but it would be ready soon. 4 hours later and still wasn't, they finally call us around 3:15pm to tell us that our room was ready, so we went to check in and when we said our name they told us it was a mistake that our room wasn't ready yet! So finally we check in at 3:50 pm, I guess still an early check in right? To top it off, when we received our bill, they charged us for a wrong service for almost $100 more! I don't know if we will be back.
Pros: The views
Cons: No air conditioning
Cons: Booked an ocean-front room. It was 1/2 level above the pool and walkway to rooms. No way you could leave the blinds open to enjoy the view without people staring in. Asked for another room and was told none available; this at 3:40 pm. There we still lots of people checking in later. I believe that because I did not book directly, I was not given priority on this and below.
And, arrived at 2:00 pm and told we could not check in until 4:00 pm. We were not offered a hospitality room and found later that they had them. When we did check in, were informed that check out was by noon. So, though rented a room for a day...it was really 20 hrs.
We were given a dining credit, but in no way made up for the room.
And then.....there was the non-operating elevator.
After staying at the hotel 20+ times in the past on business, I will not return.
Located in Laguna Beach, this beachfront hotel is in the city center, 1.1 mi (1.8 km) from Main Beach Park, and 3 mi (4.8 km) from 1,000 Steps Beach. Victoria Beach and Diver's Cove are also within 2 mi (3 km).
Pros: Quiet, mountain view, comfortable and clean rooms with all modern amenities, nice fitness room and pool, hot tub and spa.
Cons: Limited parking, small parking spots, not right on beach, no lotion in room and Keurig machine not working very well, bathroom outlets not working.
Pros: This was a nice and comfortable resort with clean rooms and decent food. Rooms have been updated and decor is a hybrid of transitional contemporary and traditional. WiFi was good and Staff was friendly.
Cons: If you're an ATT mobile subscriber, the cell signal was weak. You will have to switch to calling over WiFi.
Pros: Great cozy place
The Ranch at Laguna Beach features a golf course and puts you just a 5-minute drive from 1,000 Steps Beach. You can indulge in deep-tissue massages or facials, and American cuisine is served at Harvest Restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 2 bars/lounges and an outdoor pool are other highlights at this upscale resort, and rooms offer up nice touches like bathrobes and slippers.
Pros: From the excellent staff to the well appointed rooms, we enjoyed our stay The check in was easy. The staff gave us excellent information about the hotel and area. The room was comfortable and the mini bar and selections were great. We enjoyed the cookie time The pool and spa were clean and easily assessible. The fire pit was warm with great music playing.
Pros: Great staff, comfortable rooms. A little noisy off of 101 but not too bad.
Pros: We only stayed one night but felt so comfortable the moment we walked in. You can park right in the hotel for only $15 a day and it is just a few steps into the hotel from the parking garage! There are only 36 rooms so it feels more comfortable then a large hotel. The rooms are so cute and fit the beach vibe. The staff are very nice and helpful. They had a bunch of great amenities like, milk and cookies at the end of the night, wine hour, a fire pit down by the pool to hang out by, and coffee/yogurt & granola in the morning. We will be coming back for a longer stay!
Pros: The staff is very friendly and accommodating
Cons: The housekeeping in the room was not very good. The robe was not hung up. The bathtub and basin did not drain very well. The room was a bit noisy from people sitting out by the pool. The air conditioning was very loud and not very effective. The room had a stale air from lack of circulation.
Pros: Awesome location, great value. The whole "surf hotel" vibe is well done. You can walk right into town along the beachfront promenade. As a added bonus, the hotel coffee is actually pretty good.
Pros: Wonderful location near Heisler Park and walk to town, beach, restaurants. Staff was exceptionally friendly, helpful and happy. Loved being greeted so positively! Rooms were clean and luxurious - loved balcony for morning coffee. Truly wished we stayed longer.
Pros: The renovations really turned LB House into something special. Staff are great people. Location is amazing. Rooms are great. I grew up in Laguna Beach and often the hotels seem to assume that Laguna will "sell itself" and they don't have to put the effort in, but this hotel isn't like that.
Cons: Nothing I don't like about LB House. Place is sweet.
Pros: The room was clean and had a great view of the ocean
Cons: The tub needs to be replaced. It was old and looked like it seen better days.
Pros: Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The room was big and gorgeous, the pool and amenities were lovely, and the staff was very warm. The homemade milk and cookies at night and yogurt and granola in the morning sealed the deal. We missed the wine hour but I'm sure it was lovely. For a birthday getaway, this place was wonderful. We would definitely come back again! Thank you!
Pros: The Laguna Beach House was recently renovated by new owners, so everything was very clean, white and bright, with excellent beach décor, comfortable beds and a hip vibe. The people at the front desk were so kind and helpful, making restaurant suggestions and offering to make reservations. They even offer an umbrella, towels and chairs to take down to the beach a short 5 minute walk away. We will be back!
Cons: Nothing. Stay was fantastic.
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff upgraded my teenage son and I to 2 queen beds (only 1 King was available online when I booked). The rooms were lovely and clean, very comfy beds. Located walking distance to beach. Great pool, hot tub, fire pit for evening/afternoon use. Had a great time.
Cons: Had a downstairs room and the ceiling/floor above was very squeaky so when occupants above moved around you could hear every step...difficult to sleep through.
Pros: Very friendly and efficient staff! No microwave in the room but the staff was able to heat something for me. I love their bed and pillows. I haven't slept that well in months! Thank you!
Cons: The price of the room did not include parking. No breakfast options available besides coffee. Plus I incurred several road tolls traveling to and from the location because there was only one way to get there.
Chic coastal décor and vintage furniture create the look and feel of an open, airy beach cottage with a palette of natural, warm colors with vibrant pops. Our convenient location is within a short walking distance to Main Beach and downtown Laguna Beach. Personalized service and attention to detail provide for the ultimate Laguna Beach Resort getaway. Beginning with coffee at daybreak, a complimentary nightly wine hour at sunset to cookies and milk before bedtime, guests of Laguna Beach House are treated to all the comforts of home amidst the calming breeze of the Pacific Ocean.
Pros: 'Great location, room was very nicely designed and had lots of amenities.
Pros: The modern design of the hotel is very promising. The location of the hotel is walking distance to everything.
Cons: The hotel is run-down and it needs a lot of TLC. Some fixes are easy from tightening the handles on the Cabinetry, paint touch-ups, and some fixes cost a little bit more money like the cracked fireplace and new couch cushions for the outside lounge chair
Pros: Our room was spacious and well equipped, although I would have preferred a full sized ironing board, but I liked the two small refrigerators. I was fascinated by the cantilevered king sized bed - very comfortable! The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Our room was fairly quiet, but I think I would shy away from rooms 7 and 8 as they are the closest to PCH and may be exposed to more street noise.
Pros: Location was perfect. Room was clean, linens and towels were great. Definitely return. Off street parking was a big help.
Pros: Excellent choice & superb staff. Will be my top pick anytime I am in the area.
Pros: Good location, can walk into town & across the street to the beach as well as food & cocktails. It is a bit noisy do to it's location. There are stairs to climb with your luggage. A boutique style hotel. Would stay again.
Cons: Noise due to the location.
Pros: Great location, room is appealing
Cons: Theres no phone to call the office if you need anything or have concerns.
Pros: My favorite place to stay whenever I go to Laguna. I'm here at least once a month
Cons: No not at all
Pros: How modern and clean it was, the staff was great also
Cons: Just how small the parking lot and drive way was, I have a full size car I can't see how a truck can fit in there
Cons: Didn't like not being able to cover the skylights, Wanted to sleep in, but couldn't because of the light!
Cons: 2nd floor with steps. Not good for bad knees.
Pros: The privacy and room
Cons: Really looked forward to going in the hot tub with my girlfriends as that was a main reason I booked his place and no one even told me it was it if order when I spoke to them on the phone. So it was very disappointing to discover when we arrived.
When you stay at 14 West, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Main Beach Park and 1,000 Steps Beach. Guests can visit the spa to be pampered with hot stone massages or reflexology. Other highlights include a spa tub and a terrace, and apartments at this boutique property offer upscale features like fireplaces and soaking tubs.
Pros: It was quaint, parking was available, it was close to downtown.
Cons: Minor- the bathroom needed a fan to help with the moisture and the wall plugs needed to be tighter to hold my phone charging plug.
Pros: Location close to Heisler Park and within walking distance of downtown. Nice outdoor facilities too.
Pros: I love the location. Very close to the beach, restaurants, Ocean Ave. gas station, market. Also, I love the post card. It's a great way to remember the name and location. I sent 12 cards to my family and friends. The heated pool and fireplace was relaxing
Pros: closer to the park and beach than i anticipated, and an easy walk to restaurants
Cons: traffic noise is almost unbearable. otherwise, minor: garbage behind the night stand, a bulb burned out, smokers by the pool.
Pros: Great value and location.
Cons: Wish there was a hot tub.
At The Tides Laguna Beach, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Main Beach Park and 1,000 Steps Beach. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks. Also, this motel is within a short drive of Irvine Spectrum Center.
Pros: Great place. Perfect location with 2 minute walk to private beach. simple and not a big hotel but very nice rooms. owner is really awesome and actually gave us a free bottle of wine.
Pros: I had a truly great experience at this inn. Firstly, it is owned and operated by the nicest people! Very warm and easy-going. You feel very welcome immediately. Second, the location is amazing. Just a short walk from a gorgeous park and beach. Ocean views from the third building are very pretty and soothing. Definitely try and book that building. Also, interiors of rooms are all newly updated with a contemporary stylish decor. Beds are simply perfect. They were designed just for the inn as part of their renovations. Not too soft, not too firm - just right. Very similar to beds at Four Seasons!! Made to the same specs, I believe. Bathrooms are really high-end with two shower heads, one rainfall, beautiful fixtures, etc. . The owner mentioned that they are waiting for permits to do exterior renovations, so don't be concerned that the outside is not updated! Excellent value in Laguna with the nicest people and gorgeous location. Highly recommend.
When you stay at Crescent Bay Inn, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Main Beach Park and 1,000 Steps Beach. Guests will have free perks like WiFi and self parking. Rooms at this luxurious hotel feature bonuses like sofa beds, refrigerators, and microwaves.
Pros: The location was wonderful and they took us in last minute, which saved our trip! We had a nice room that was clean and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: The hotel was nothing spectacular (no extras), more like an inn than an actual hotel.
Cons: Stuck in one of five rooms that are located on highway. All others look at ocean
Gardener starting clipping bushes in front of my room at 7am
Room was no better than motel 6.
Pros: I loved the location. The staff provided chairs, umbrellas, etc. For the beach. Loved the happy hour on the roof overlooking the ocean!
Pros: The guy who poured our wine was great! That's a great thing to have. The staff was great too
Pros: Friendly staff. Great location for town, beach, and roads. Excellent breakfast en suite.
Cons: Room was small. Rooms on 100 level kind of loud.
Pros: The staff went above & beyond to make our stay fabulous!!
Pros: It was a WONDERFUL place. Quaint. Warm, lovely pool. Sunset view, terrific walking/running path along oceanfront. We loved the "green" mindset too. Enjoyed the ambience of the lobby: pleasant morning jazz music as they offered free Starbucks.
And for the price...can't beat it all.
Cons: I would have liked a heads up on the $29 a day parking fee. Most other hotels/Inns will give you that up front. The receptionist just asked if we had a car (I should have asked I guess), gave me a parking tag and it seemed easy. But we paid less in San Diego downtown to park at the Bristol where there was no parking to be had elsewhere.
Pros: Room was very comfortable. Perfect location and beautiful views
Experience a luxury boutique hotel escape in the heart of Laguna Beach, with the finest art galleries, shopping, dining and nightlife just steps from your door. Enjoy unsurpassed views of the Pacific Ocean from your beachfront hotel room, the pool and the Pacific Terrace rooftop bar.
Pros: I loved the location to the beach, it was awesome! Staff were helpful, very friendly and accommodating. All the Starbucks coffee you wanted!
Cons: Rooms were a bit outdated and smelled a bit musty. Climbing all the stairs, but that would be at every hotel on the beach.
Pros: Hotel is in a great location, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are neat and spacious. Great place to take a timeout and enjoy life.
Cons: no complaints
Pros: Amazing view and great location!
Cons: Cockroach in the room on the first night, they were doing construction so it was super noisy too. Bed sheets felt like sand paper. During construction they turned off the water almost all day. Just what you need after being at the beach! :/
Pros: Staff was very nice to us. Ocean very close.
Cons: Room was old. Window in bathroom did not close all the way. Floor boards falling from wall. Parking is VERY tight!
For the price I paid for this hotel I was very disappointing. I asked to have my room switched and the lady at the front desk said they were fully booked. We arrived at check in time at 3p.m. so I know that they could have changed our room. Even if they were fully booked up I know at that time they did not have everyone checked in. I have family that works for other hotels and know that they would never treat their guests like I was treated at this place. The Capri is an up scale MOTEL! Horrible!
Pros: I liked the beach access that this hotel had.
Cons: I absolutely hated my room! The room looked like it should have been a storage closet. There was literally an electrical room right when you walked into the room and the water heater closet was connected to our room!
Pros: As soon as I arrived I immediately felt in love with the room, location and the hotel. I really liked how the pool is heated, it was really relaxing.
Cons: I did like your service, I just didn't like how the room wasn't clean and I had to call meintance. But overall it wasn't a big issue.
Pros: View and theme of the hotel
Cons: Shower needs to be updated
Pros: It was located right on Laguna beach. Beautiful view. Room was nice. Price for the two nights was great. Heated pool was great. Staff was great.
Cons: Access to the beach for a couple up in years could have been easier. The continental breakfast was all right. We have had better at other establishments.
Pros: Hotel staff is very friendly and very accommodating. Have stayed at this hotel before and liked it so much we had to come back. It's right on the beach and perfect for a romantic getaway or a family getaway.
Cons: In the room the heat wasn't working the best and never really did. Maintenance came to look at it but never got the problem fully resolved.
Pros: Staff were wonderful and pleasant check in was easy breazy had a very nice 3 day stay.
We will be back, there is no greater recommendation than that.
Pros: Directly on the ocean, with fairly nice accommodations. Easy access to the beach with wonderful beach chairs/umbrellas and staff. Free Laguna transit busses take you directly to the 'Main Beach' and sites. Very nice! Also, great 24/7 coffee available
Cons: Outdated tub/shower....needs repair now!
I would not recommend or return to this hotel.
Pros: pool, decks.
Cons: Rooms were very run down. Hot water was not regulated at all in the taps.
When you stay at Capri Laguna Inn On The Beach, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Main Beach Park and 1,000 Steps Beach. The outdoor pool is a great spot for a morning swim, and guests can get a workout in at the 24-hour fitness center. Rooms feature conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: The room itself was outdated and needed to be completely remodeled head to toe. The furniture was old, bed was too soft, paint on the wall was chipping, etc. But the location was prime, it was affordable, and the staff was amazing. I would go back but I would just be sure to stay in a different room.
Pros: Location to restaurants, stores, beach, transportation was tops.
Cons: Breakfast was pretty lame.
Pros: Pros: Amazing Location, Friendly Staff, Property Facility, Pool, Beach Access, Comfy bed and good Decor.
Will come back for a stay at this place again in future.
Cons: Cons: The shower DOESN'T spit out uniform hot and cold water, The pillows were very old and clumsy - can do with some new pillows.
Garden area was very relaxing
Free car parking
Free towels and beach shade
Free shuttle bus in Laguna beach everywhere
Cons: No safe
Some staff attitude was inappropriate about returning towels, even though they were returned at the pool area, rather than reception. Very pedantic
Cons: It's getting old like me.
Pros: I love being so close to the beach. The staff is super friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are a bit dated, but are clean and comfortable. The atmosphere is relaxing, and the continental breakfast is very nice.
Pros: Great location. Salt water pool. FREE Parking, rare in a place like Laguna.
For the price it is a good value.
Cons: Beds are always an issue. Too soft.
Pros: Close to beach, nice pool, close to shops and restaurants
Cons: Noisy, on PCH and in shopping center. Outdated interiors, popcorn ceilings, thin walls, spotty repairs needed, tiny TV, meager breakfast offerings.
Laguna Beach Lodge puts you within a 10-minute drive of 1,000 Steps Beach and Main Beach Park. Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and free perks include WiFi, self parking, and continental breakfast daily between 6 AM and 10 AM. A terrace and a garden are offered, and in-room conveniences include refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: The location was perfect, as we were in town for a wedding that was down the street. Decent continental breakfast and coffee.
Cons: The staff were incredibly rude: chatting on the phone without an indication they would help us, no flexibility for an early check-in despite having vacancy (we had a wedding to get to that afternoon), little interest in making accommodations (seemed annoyed when we asked for suggestions on what to do with our hour before check-in). One of the staff members indicated that it was a crazy day, and unfortunately, we were there to be the recipient of her poor customer service
Pros: Very quaint. Great location but too much traffic noise. Didn't quiet down until mid nite.
Way too much traffic noise.
Pros: Very affordable for Laguna Beach. Customer service excellent. The location is great, right across the street from beach. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Continental Breakfast from 7:30-10:30 (Cereal, pastries, yogurt, coffee, juices). Room was clean. All in all, great place to stay. Definitely will again.
Cons: Nothing I didn't like.
When you stay at Laguna Beach Inn, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Main Beach Park and 1,000 Steps Beach. Guests can enjoy the seasonal outdoor pool, and kayaking, mountain biking, and scuba diving are nearby.
Pros: Location, location. Aliso Viejo beach is always our destination beach, when we go into the laguna area. Very convenient location. We were a little worried when we arrived to our front hotel room, to find it was right next to the breakfast area. It actually turned out to be a perfect location, woke up and strolled right next door to eat. Food was great! Great access into the city after breakfast. No complaints, will definitely be back.
Pros: I love the location and the room.
Cons: I did not like that no one informed me that paying for beach-side view would include the 7am wake up from street construction crew that was directly below me. Jackhammers going at 8am which at that point I decided to not extend my stay and check out!
If I had known I would have never even stayed there in the first place!!!
Pros: Great staff, hotel and overall experience. Very well maintained. Clean and they pay attention to the little things. The staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. We will defiantly be staying there again next trip without a doubt. The one thing that stood out to me immediately was the doors to the rooms.. they were structured in a way to be secure, safe and worry free when you left the room.
Cons: A little pricy, but honestly you get your money's worth.
Pros: Breakfast, view, accessible! Great deal for the money!
Cons: Pool was kind of shabby, needed upgrade. Very difficult to get in n out of bathtub for showering!
Pros: The parking structure is excellent in an area that's hard to park. The location, even though it's a bit south from the action is good. The views from the room and deck are also great. The room is plenty spacious and well layed out. Would stay again.
Cons: The staff is so, so. Erin was great and gave us an upgrade which we are grateful for. But other staff were not so helpful. The air conditioner is either on or off. If you set a temperature, it simply ignores it. I tried to get it fixed with no result. I was told that all air conditioners work that way.
I needed some ice and finally found it on the third floor. The machine was out of order with a sign that says to use the one on the second floor. The layout is difficult to say the least. When I couldn't find it, I asked the front desk where it would be and was told that's in the garage and the entry is through the second floor. Enough said.
Pros: Location was amazing and price was great. Pool, breakfast and view was our favorite.
Cons: Our room was on the first floor and when we walked in we noticed it was damp in the room. Then we noticed that our room was half underground. So we figured for 1 night, with the location and price that we would just deal with it. Later that night after going out for cocktails and dinner we came back into the room to find that it was still really damp like an old basement even with the air conditioning on high for hours. After reading all the ridiculous rules and instructions about the whirlpool we got in to find out non of the controls worked so it was an all or nothing experience. Hours later in the middle of the night I awoke to the air conditioning make loud noises. In the morning I found that the carpet around the whirlpool was wet due to some kind of leak from the water closet. Also no air conditioning in the bathroom.
All and all the place was very nice but they didn't offer any discount or anything for our experience. *don't stay on the first floor.
This property is a 99 steps to the beach. Just down the street from Laguna Beach, this hotel offers an outdoor pool. Views of Catalina Island and the Pacific can be seen from the rooftop terrace. Guests can enjoy a breakfast buffet at this beachfront property.
Pros: I needed a place to start over and landed here. Gail, the owner, was very helpful in giving me a room.
She offers rooms in a variety of sizes and they were more than adequate for my needs. Gail runs the property and knows Laguna very well - she is always available to help out and Isis, a member of her staff, was great at pointing out local food and activities.
Cons: It can be a little challenging finding your room if you're on an upper floor. The space outside one floor had a water spill.
Pros: The rooms are good size - we had a group of 14 in three rooms (4 were small children) and with 2 queen beds and a hide-a-bed in each room we were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is not a luxury hotel - but very clean and family-oriented! Close to the beach and art galleries and eating places.
Pros: Independent hotel; cool location; affordable. Laguna Beach is a fun but pricey town. The hotel recommended Madison Square and Gardens Cafe for breakfast and it was great. This hotel is right across the street from a very nice public beach and about 3/4 of a mile from the main strip of shops and galleries and restaurants. They very nicely let us borrow beach toys after it was technically check-out time. Soft fluffy bath towels. 24-hour front desk. Good parking.
Cons: The person staffing the front desk when we arrived did not acknowledge I was waiting in front of him until he was darn good and ready. The person he was training did, so I knew I wasn't actually invisible. Until he finally greeted me, I honestly couldn't tell if he knew I was there even though I was about two feet in front of him. That was weird and off-putting to start.
No fan or other ventilation in the bathroom; the room was like a sauna all day and night even with the AC on. Everything felt sort of clammy. The room seemed more grubby than artsy. Decorative pillows piled on the bed were not appealing, just made me wonder how often those covers got laundered. No accessible electrical outlet by the beds; didn't realize how much I missed that until I couldn't have it. Crumpled up info sheet on the desk in the room said to see hotel map on the other side, but the map was gone. The window did not seem to lock.
Pros: The hotel is blocks away from the beach and across be street from the Laguna Beach trolley.
The hotel's art work is really cool and we really enjoyed the private balcony the room had.
Cons: The hotel proprietors seemed a little bit unfocused and honestl a bit worn out. While we were checking in RJ was very helpful with walking a through the local maps, but had to be prompted to give us out room keys. Checking out it seemed as if the woman at the front desk was going through a route script of phrases rather than being genuinely hospitable.
Also, the term "ocean view" for the room we booked may be a bit of an overstatement. Yes, you could see the ocean from across Pacific Coast Drive when you stood up on the private balacony, but that was about it. Not a big deal, but I guess we expected more of a view given that the name was labeled as ocean view.
Art Hotel Laguna Beach features a rooftop terrace and puts you just a 5-minute drive from Main Beach Park. Guests can enjoy the outdoor pool, and hiking/biking trails, kayaking, and mountain biking are nearby. A children's pool and a garden are offered, and in-room conveniences include refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: I liked the rooftop atmosphere when I get was able to go up and the location. Staff was nice and the room was clean with very a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fairly decent, it was good.
Cons: I didn't like that I couldn't use some of the areas the hotel offers, like I couldn't have dinner at the restaurant one of the nights I stayed due to a wedding that was happening, I couldn't go to the rooftop and have appetizers for lunch as well for the same reason. I was put in a petite room when that wasn't what I payed for, too small for 2 people, we kept bumping into each other. I was very frustrated by that. The hotel was nice but a bit dated, would I stay there again? Not sure, the small room turned me off.
Pros: Location was excellent with great beach access.
Good value for the money.
Hotel staff were excellent.
Cons: Rooms were very small.
I understand the Hotel is undergoing some renovation but a lot of the hotel just looked "tired".
Roof top access with view, etc is incredible. Unfortunately, it is open to the public and other catered events so we were never able to get a table there in the evening. The place was absolutely packed (wall to wall people).
Pros: The hotel was in a great location, and had an awesome rooftop bar/lounge. The room was cozy, and very comfortable. Loved the idea of the overhead fan.
Cons: The carpet is old and some of the walls are cracking/chipped. The hotel should be renovated for the price they charge per room.
Pros: Brand restaurant on premises, staff was courteous and hotel was close to beach.
Cons: Room was on the small side as well as bathroom
Pros: Friendly staff, few steps walk to beach, free parking, comfortable bed, bath window opens for fresh air, free breakfast.
Cons: Cramped & dark room, sink outside toilet area, no coffee in room, elevator difficult to locate, parking free but across busy street/inconvenient.
Pros: The roof top bar is amazing. The location is perfect for strolling and window shopping.
Cons: The roof was stuffy at night.

Pros: We made the reservation to attend Pageant of the Masters and found the location was excellent. A short walk or shuttle ride to the beach or even to the Pageant. The staff was so friendly and helpful as Janette and Josh quickly processed us and provided suggestions to enhance our stay.
Pros: Walking distance to beach, shopping, and all of Laguna's great dining. Also right near grocery store.
Pros: The staff was very friendly. I felt like family!
Cons: No microwave in the room
Cons: Rooms were in the small side

Pros: CJ at the front desk was helpful and Friendly Rest of the staff i encountered were also great
Pros: You are LITERALLY on the water when the tide comes in. Awesome!
Pros: The front desk staff was so sweet and accommodating...I felt like I was friends with some of them by the end of my stay. The room was cozy and summery, with a cute little kitchen area and a counter with a large mirror right outside the bathroom. The beach was right down the stairs and across the valet road from our room...so close, you could hear the ocean from our room! The Deck, one of the restaurants connected to the hotel, was perfect for beach-side lunch. Proximity to town was ideal for roaming and shopping. We rented bikes around the corner and went all over the beachside part of town on back streets! I ended up booking another night's stay because I was loving the hotel and the town so much!
Pros: We were upgraded to a beach side room which was awesome.
The room had a great view.
The hotels location is great.
Very comfortable bed.
Cons: Room was over the bar, extremely loud until bar close, which fortunately was shortly after 10pm.
No parking except for valet which was ~$30/night
Pros: Near the ocean
Cons: Stains all over ceiling. Bed and couch were very old and lumpy. Nowhere to lounge and be comfortable.
When we checked in they laughed at me when I asked if any upgrades were available. Then they put us across from the valet stand, constantly giving us noise and chaos just outside the window. Between the bad bed and noise I never got to sleep past 9.
Hot tub was yellow with urine. Kids were in it all day unattended.
Pros: I would have loved the beach/waterfront location if it had not been for the overcrowded beach front and hotel. This place was extremely crowded and tourist-y, more so than any other popular beach.
Cons: I did not like that our hotel check in was at 4pm. Parking was terrible and you had to pay. Right when we arrived we were stressed out about waiting for people to move in front of us, park and get into our hotel room. The room smelled like a wet dog. They gave us the wrong hotel room reservation. We over paid for a hotel room we did not get. The valet tried double charging us thinking we wouldn't notice. They also double charged us for the hotel room itself and I had to call and get it refunded. The Pacific Edge Hotel is a rip off and I believe you could have more fun and a better experience somewhere else.
Cons: Bottle for body wash was filthy and should have been replaced. However, staff compensated us by deducting 50% from our parking.
Pros: Your Front Desk staff was excellent and very pleasant.
Cons: Stinky room, need to change ironing board (shakes while ironing). We called your maintenance guy I forgot what it was for. That day our other group of friends got a much better deal at one of the top hotels in your area.
Pros: The location was great, they accommodated our request to be up high so we were able to watch the sunset from our room, staff was excellent, valet is quick and treats your car with respect
Cons: Room wasn't clean, found underwear behind dresser, light was missing from one of the ceilings lights, drinks left open in the fridge and hair was left on the vanity counter.
Pros: Beachfront room, great service
Cons: Heat(not in hotel's control), but first room we were in had A/C inadequate to cool room. Changed rooms and did much better.
Pros: Location, two pools, beach access, beach toys and chairs.,.Great staff
Cons: Would be great to have some basic cruiser bikes to borrow for a ride downtown and some foamy surf boards to borrow at the beach ( in addition to boogie boards, which were awesome).
Pros: Mari and Javid at the front desk were great and informative. Mari even gave my Lab a treat, which was appreciated. Ocean view room was spectacular. We'll be back! Again and again.
Cons: Air conditioner too loud

Guests can take a dip in the outdoor pool, and freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks. A terrace and a garden are offered, and in-room conveniences include refrigerators and microwaves.
Cons: It was horrible it was old and grungy and dirty and there are no locks on the windows there's cracks in the walls carpet was filthy the windows were filthy I have a two-year-old that could open the windows and there is no screen no lock she could've fallen out it was horrible I got food poisoning from the breakfast we had at that restaurant that's attached to the hotel I've been sick for two days it is absolutely horrible and I would never go back
Pros: I left a pair of heels purposely in the trash basket because they were badly marked and 'banged up' after attending an outdoor wedding in a lemon grove in Oxnard. (I figured that by placing them in the trash it would signify that I was tossing them.) I was pleasantly surprise to receive a phone call from the front desk asking me if I had accidently left them and wanted them mailed to me at home in CT. Amazing
Pros: The location is directly on the coast and smack dab on Main Beach which is fantastic.
Cons: The hotel itself and rooms are ancient and have not been updated AT ALL. The hotel was rebuilt in 1930 (originally 1888). There was no air conditioning, the windows still looked original (single pane) and blocked minimal sound. We heard car alarms incessantly and the people below. The room and bathroom were tiny and old and didn't look clean...mold throughout the bathroom tile grout. The window treatment looked like something out of a horror flick...the rod was completely askew with dirty 70's style curtains. We left the hotel without staying a single night.
Pros: Location was everything, literally right on the sand. Best part about the hotel was the restaurant.
Cons: Man, where to start! First I must say, me and my girlfriend are not picky travelers. We are completely fine staying in a motel 6 if it is clean and up to par. Hotel Laguna is far from par. Every time we'd go take a shower, the faucet would randomly shoot out scalding hot water and burned my girlfriend twice. Our window was broken, so I had to hang out the window to tighten a loose screw so it would work. We had a garden/ocean view when we booked our hotel, but we looked at nothing but the parking lot all weekend. The staff member that checked us in looked completely disinterested, and couldn't even give us proper change for our receipt. Overall, don't waste your money here, like I said the best part is the restaurant, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
Pros: The staff were very helpful; the food was delicious; and the ocean front views and beach access wonderful.
Cons: Hotel was originally built in 1929 so the rooms are bit small.
Pros: Amazing location, our room had a really nice view, the room was clean, small and simply furnished but charming. The hotel is older but I still liked the historical vibe and it felt cozy and quaint. Restaurant had a fantastic view and good food, would happily stay there again. Staff was really nice, price was reasonable, especially for New Years.
Cons: Could use a fridge in the room.
Pros: location, on the beach, great bar, good breakfast
Cons: the rooms need srucing up.They look tired and worn out.
Pros: the location is top - very central, next to the Laguna beach and the strip
Cons: a not-so friendly receptionist put me up in a room facing the street, despite I asked for a quiet room. She cited that there aren't any rooms available, however, I headed out to explore the town and upon my return and later inquiry with reception (much nicer personnel now), there was a room available but at an extra charge which wasn't worthwhile.
Pros: Location is great! One of the few "private beach" strips in SoCal with bar service on the beach. Great view and beach is swimmer friendly, especially a hundred yards to the north (kelp bed right off the hotel beach...better swimming a hundred yards north).
Cons: Hotel is historic, and so are the rooms. Bathrooms are still "period" and vintage but functional. NEVER, EVER book a "village view" room. What that means is that your room is on the street side of the hotel, mere feet from a very busy street. We could hear the hoots and hollers from the bar right across the street loud and clear. And, street sweepers and trash trucks do their thing at night. AND, the hotel is NOT air conditioned so the window needs to be open if it's hot. MUCH better to pay the extra cash to be on any side other than the street/east side of the building with an ocean front or garden view.
