Great value and a great place!
Overall facilities and rooms were clean and well kept. Food and activity options were plentiful and the location (and the resort's free shuttle service) makes all the area attractions easy to get to.
Facilities We requested a room on the bottom floor prior to arrival. I received an email through Kayak from Kingsmill confirming we had a room on bottom floor. Upon arrival they did not have bottom room or anything in their system that we requested one. They were not accommodating and did not offer anything to make up for it. Some staff not attentive.
The overall setting of the resort is beautifully surrounded by the river and green, the low rise housing helped preserve the scenery from every angle. We stayed there during the Thanksgiving weekend with our grade schooler sharing a king size bed comfortably on the first floor. The room is sized a typical hotel room with a patio facing a pond, which I enjoyed the most. The closet was unusually larger, you can fit 2 suitcases in there. The amenity is normal, that's why I did not rate it 'luxurious' but it's clean and sufficient with body wash, shampoo and conditioning;, the interior design of the bathroom is on the high end than other typical Hilton or Marriott, but is sized smaller than I would have liked. Each room has a Kerug with 6 pods and they fill it up everyday. No problem getting on wifi. The shuttle service is excellent - we used it exclusively to travel between Busch Garden and the resort - the shuttle also take you directly to your building if requested, they really eager to take around the resort. indoor pool is smaller than I would have liked but there were 20+ kids there so it felt crowded. But the changing area is on the high end side, very clean, plenty of towel supply, whirlpool, steam room, sauna included. Every staff we encounter are very friendly. Buffet breakfast in Element 1010 and lunch at Eagle restaurant, both of which were good experiences. Everything worked out really well. It is priced a bit higher than others in the area but i feel that I get what I paid for, it's worth the value. We definitely will go back in the summer and possibly in Nov/December again. Can't really pick any Cons - I guess I would have liked a bigger indoor pool so the kids are not jammed together.
The landscaping and setting are truly one of a kind. The staff is all very friendly, from the house-cleaners to the concierge service. The on site restaurants, especially the one at the marina, are top shelf. Truly some of the best food we have ever eaten. It is pricey. The cost for a single night stay was double that of staying at another location not much further away. I am not sure if the amenities warrant the cost.
Had a wonderful experience! My friend and I came up to enjoy Busch gardens. The staff was over the top. They accidentally gave us a key to a room that wasn't cleaned yet. They were very upset with the situation and gave both of us a free dine-in breakfast at the Harvest Grille. The new room was very cushy and comfortable. Other than the hallways being a little bit stuffy, I have virtually no complaints! Hallway just a little stuffy. Needs some sort of recirculated air
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The Rat Pack called and they want their Hotel back. This hotel is old and out dated, too many additional charges for amenities that are complimentary at other hotels. Rear security door was broken and one elevator at the rear of the hotel for both guest and staff. Terrible lighting at night. Pack a lunch and water for the walk to the lobby from the rear of the hotel.
Hotel was much nicer than similarly priced 3 star hotels in this area. Bed and shower were top notch and the place was modern. This isn't walkable to anything.
Comfortable. Nice breakfast. Pleasant staff good location Nothing
The evening person was helpful in changing out our room The first room smelled of mold or mildew The 2nd room was better..
Overall the hotel was not bad but the bed was uncomfortable and the breakfast was marginal. The staff were friendly and helpful, the lobby is pleasant and inviting giving a homey feel
Breakfast was nice and the bed was comfortable. Internet was good too. I think my boyfriend and I caught something from the room. When we returned from our trip we BOTH came down with a cold. Not sure where else we could've gotten it from. Also the lock for our room was messed up. We had to yank it and then push to get it to open.
The location was very good. It was close to downtown and yet far enough way that it was quite. There were ants in the rooms. When we first checked in I asked to be moved to another room due to the ants in the bathroom and also in the bed area. After moving to another floor, the same problem existed. I did not like going into the bathroom and finding ants in the sink, the bathtub and all over the floor.
The staff bent over backwards to meet our everybody need. They provided us breakfast after the breakfast hours had ended, allowed us to check out late to meet our schedule, and were extremely friendly overall. For the price this hire can't be beat! No complaints
Great budget hotel situated perfectly in the Williamsburg area. Extremely close to tourist hotspots, food, and shopping. Because of the low price, there are very few amenities.
Excellent room & Staff nothing
The location was great. The lobby was bright and clean. The people behind the desk were very friendly and helped us pick some places to eat. We loved the warm cookies! The pool was awesome. My husband and son enjoyed that one night after Busch Gardens. Its really great that its open till midnight. The room was very large, very clean. The bathroom was perfect. The towels were plentiful and so thirsty. I love that in a towel!! Breakfast is free and very good. Great variety of things to eat and drink. Its wonderful for families with small kids. Saves money too, as any meal with multiple people can be expensive. Loved our stay and would stay again. Beds were a little soft. My husband and I kept rolling into the middle. I just had hip surgery so it was a little tough getting out for me. Thats about it in the complaint dept.
Had to make an emergency trip due to family illness. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate us including having to extend our stay at the last minute. All the staff were helpful and always had a smile to share. Although they apologized for ongoing renovations there were no issues other than an occasional sign apologizing for any inconvenience,
The Staff The Cleanliness The Pool The Location The water pressure
The staff was great - very welcoming and friendly! The location was perfect for visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Adequate breakfast well attended to by staff. Free cookies! Nothing.
room had everything we needed, including microwave and frig, the breakfast was nice with fresh fruit, and the price was terrific for what was provided. Everything was fine.
Very run down and dirty. Old soap box was left from last person by bed. Elevator quit working. Maid did not replace coffee cup. No tissues. 1/2 roll of toilet paper. Looked like poop smear by toilet.
The location was pretty good. Upon arrival, I see a sign for a $39.99 a night rate, much less than what I paid and they would not adjust. There were a lot of people at this hotel hosting a tailgating style party in the parking lot. It was a very noisy place. The beds were not comfortable at all. The tub didn't work. The breakfast was not as described. I will not be returning.
There are many bad reviews on this hotel and I don't get them. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the staff is very polite and ready to assist you and you even get a breakfast. You know this is an inexpensive hotel so don't expect to go there and find what you will find at a hotel that charges $150+ a night. Overall the place is very nice for the price. I've stayed in other places around the area and this one wins.
Everything was fantastic with the counter staff, even kept the room for me when i had to extend two more days. They nearly bent over backwards for my stay. The cleaning staff seemed to call this one in. 5 nights and they never came to my room, except on my initial check out date. The towels were not replaced is my one gripe really.
The staff was friendly and helpful. 1) no hot water for showers, we took cold showers. 2) heater didn't work 3) hair dryer stopped working after 30 seconds 4) clothes iron leaked water everywhere 5) breakfast ran out of everything
Key deactivated every single day including our first time trying to get into the room. Hot tub plug didn't fit. Hotel is only really accessible from one side of the road unless you drive through the mcdonalds parking lot.
enjoyed the hot breakfast - indoor swimming pool - big room - easy access
It was ok for the price. My girls enjoyed it. I didn't like that the pool wasn't heated and that was one of the main reasons for going there was cuz they had an indoor pool.
Undercapacity wifi. No mattress pads. Room took a long time to cool down. No chair at table. Disorganized check-in.
This was possibly the nastiest place I've ever stepped foot in! The room they gave me hadn't even been cleaned, there were dirty towels on the floor, the comforters were on the floor, there was urine all over the toilet and floor in the bathroom. I walked in the room and walked right back out and demanded a refund!
-location -convenience -price -long check in (1.5 hour line) -club (?) in the basement late-night caused parking issues
NoTHing!! Everything about this hotel was horrible. From the dirty rooms, smelly atmosphere to the fact they were under renovation that we didn't know until we got there!! If it wasn't for the fact we were EXHAUSTED, we would have asked for out money back and gone somewhere else!!!!
Great distance from busch gardens and water country, friendly staff Beds were awful my girlfriend and I woke up with sore backs and headache you can tell beds were warped and sheets barely fit on the mattress. There was a jacuzzi which looked nice but we went in and it was cold!someone knocked over a paper made sign taped to a cone saying broken.desk person said its been days doesn't know when it's being fixed
It was convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, with only a 3 minute drive. If you wanted to walk you probably could too. The price was the best around; we payed 230 for 3 nights. It wasn't the cleanest and needed to be updated. There was a crack in the sink, a couple of light bulbs were out, and holes in the sheets. If you go here, I suggest bringing your own blankets, and buying Lysol and comet to clean up beforehand.
Room was clean. We didn't know the hotel is under construction until we arrived. They definitely need it, the entire place is out dated and run down.
the pool was nice, rooms were clean Our reservation was lost, the hotel was torn up with construction inside and out, staff was useless in finding our reservation, no food except for a breakfast that we were not given a voucher for due to "booking through a third party"
There was a very nice young man who worked in the restaurant, named Tyler who went out of his way to help.He also was the acting supervisor during one of our conference meals so he is a jack of all trades. I thought the front office staff were not as friendly as they could have been. The housekeeping staff was slammed when I was there because of the different times people leaving and checking in to the hotel. My room was comfortable but some of my other friends who were there said that they had to wait until late in the afternoon before their room was cleaned.
The available amenities. The mattresses were well overdue for replacement.one of the beds had a dip in it of over three inches. Cleanliness was questionable at best. Sliding glass doors were filthy. Rear parking lot was dirty and we had to step over a liquid oozing from the dumpster on our way to and from our room. I did not express our concerns to the staff.
Less then 5 minutes from the park. Beds were comfortable Had to duck to use the shower, room smelled like mildew. For the price would expect more.
Good location. Basics need renovation. Dirty wash cloth left in bathroom.
The room was nice and clean with a mini fridge. Very comfortable. The beds were definitely old but I was comfortable. Very good location - near everything without being off a highway or in a loud spot. The front desk gave a nice restaurant recommendation. The room came with two beds, but I'm pretty sure they were two full beds, not queen, which meant my fiance and I had to decide between sleeping in separate beds or squeezing into a small one. The wi-fi was free, which was great, but cut in and out constantly - varying from full strength to not connected at all. It's a very big hotel, so boosting their wifi capability would be great.
The rooms were extremely small Had a bad smell very over crowded the hotel manager was extremely rude and to much construction not clean at all pull out bed was broken bathroom should just have standup showers because they were extremely small I will NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN NEVER
Bathroom was clean but needed to be updated.
only working ice machine was on the ground floor
Very spacious rooms, incredibly friendly staff, walking distance to restaurants (we recommend Food for Thought) and the outlets Gym doesn't have free weights but the cardio equipment is nice
The price of the room was good for the size of it I didn't like that when you first walked in all you smelled was chlorine and the bathrooms didn't have an exhaust fan.
Clean, comfortable, quiet, friiendly staff Nothing
Decor, Light Fixtures and Bedding was modern - clean lines. I liked two tvs, liked the handicap chair for pool, fresh healthy food choices for breakfast, helpful staff, liked location across the street from Food for Thought (will come again for that feature and bring my elderly mother) would have liked additional suitcase stand (only one provided). Prefer larger pool for lap swimming. change room at pool, & plastic bag to put your bathing suit
Rooms were very nice and clean, beds were comfortable. The room was very spacious there were six of us and we fit comfortably and no one was tripping over anyone. Front Desk personnel was very friendly and attentive. Called housekeeping a few times to get toilet paper and soap as we had run out what we had brought and didn't want to buy another one since we only had two days left and got no response. Other than that everything was good.
Very nice hotel with no problems with the room and/or staff The coffee machine produced probably the worst coffee I have had in recent times.
The coffee and breakfast were good. The employees at the front desk were incredibly rude. When we checked in, one of our sheets was dirty and when we called the front desk about it, the woman working told us we could come get a new sheet if we wanted to, but didn't offer to come re-make the bed for us. The mattresses are extremely hard and uncomfortable. The fitness center was very limited and two of the machines didn't work at all.
Affordable, in a safe area. Staff was friendly and responsive to requests. Breakfast was decent. A good option when the higher end hotel chains jack up prices over the weekend. Large indoor pool. Carpet was old and worn down. Needed to be vacuumed under the beds. Description was misleading, said "1 BR with a pullout sofa. " definitely expected an actual separated BR, not the case.
The only characteristic that I found enjoyable of the place was when I was not staying there. It is located within a reasonable distance to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg. Where to begin? The key cards de-magnetized at the slightest handling. The beds were so terrible that I actually slept on the floor. I could feel every spring in their crappy mattresses and could not get a wink of sleep. The ceiling of our room looked like there had been multiple water damage instances involving a leaky roof. The room smelled musty. It was only one step above "Crack den". The breakfast was terrible. The eggs were probably powdered and tasted worse than the eggs they serve in the Navy (and in prisons). The potatoes tasted like cardboard. They should just skip those and stick to toast and bacon. The cost of this room was $285 (including tax). When I pay that much money for two nights, I expect to at least enjoy my bed. I would not recommend this place to ANYONE except a crackhead.
Location, fresh baked cookies.
Location Comfortable Beds Indoor Pool Cleanliness of Rooms Good value for the price Breakfast could use improvement - Eggs tasted fake and weird toasters took way too long - 2 rounds and English muffin was still barely warm, not dark at all seating for breakfast - chairs too big, bulky and heavy. almost impossible for person sitting against the wall to get out. chairs in guest room were very uncomfortable.
Everything was neat and tidy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Comfy beds. Good night's sleep and nice breakfast in the morning as well. Already made reservations to stay again.
The price and convenience The lack of cleanliness and rudeness of staff
Clean. Warm, on the coldest night of the year. Convenient location.
Love the renovations, very nice place to stay on a budget.
the bed and pillows were comfy , room was nice , great location my room was aside of ice and soda machine was extremely noisy
Location only The buffet was very small for food and sitting area, should have been from 7-10am, room had below norm hooks in bathroom and no table in room, pool area had limited seating, staff was extremely short, no soap in lobby bathroom even after after requested 2 times,
Not enough vending machines, food services are a little trouble to get to from room.
We pick this resort first when traveling to Williamsburg. It is in a beautiful location, they keep it looking new and clean, and everyone is so kind and polite!
Everything was fantastic. Our late checkin was super fast and easy, which was much appreciated since we were tired. Unfortunately we did not get to use the club facilities (pool, gym, etc.) but they looked excellent and very inviting! Hopefully we will get to stay again and use them!
This was an excellent value for the money. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that was very clean. I would definitely recommend it.
The resort provided everything we needed for our stay. From the pots and pans in the kitchenette to the washer dryer, we had everything we needed. I can,t think of anything we did not like.
I like my suite very much I didn't like that I didn't have a companion with me to enjoy the suite with me.
I love the room, nice a spacious. Not to forget about the jacuzzi in the bathroom! All the tools in the kitchen to cook you're own food instead going out for dinner/breakfast/lunch. (Money saver) Great location and plenty stores to go shopping. Enough room to host another couple! Great place to book! I'll be back (terminator voice) The Internet moved a bit slow. The checkout could be at least 11:00 or a little later but it's at 10 am.
To have a kitchen. To have to drive to go swimming.
Clean, helpful and friendly. Close to attractions. Everything was fine
Nicely appointed and spacious room. Free coffee at all times in the lobby. Friendly staff. The lobby area is decent, but not impressive. That's my only negative. Everything else was spot on.
The location was close to Busch Gardens and the pool was great. The sink was clogged up and when they unclogged it it made the room smell terrible! The housekeeping was a bit lacking as well. The room didn't get cleaned till close to 3 p.m. and the sheets weren't even changed! Not to mention the king size bed looked like it had queen size sheets and comforter on it. We left two days earlier than planned. The staff appeared a bit snobby as well. I will never stay in this hotel again. I would prefer to sleep in a tent!
Friendly, helpfuf I got a gift but the manger failed to deliver it for 3 days,
Free breakfast was convenient and met our needs. Most of the staff had limited English skills.
The staff was very helpful and nice. The indoor pool seemed cold.
The hotel must have been recently renovated with bold colors. There were plenty of choices for breakfast including hot and cold items. The shower was great. Definitely book online the price is much better than if you call. Great proximity to Colonial Williamsburg. The beds are very soft. I typically like a soft bed but these were almost too soft. My mother in law who has mobility issues had a hard time moving on the matress.
Proximity to Colonial Williamsburg. Spacious room. Good breakfast.
We enjoyed playing miniature golf, the swimming pool, checking our e-mails on their computers and our rooms were very nice. I would say we enjoyed our entire visit. Not a thing
I like the ability to be staying at one location that allowed the family to do things within that location. This was a plus because when the children got board, we could go to the game room, swimming pool, mini golf course. The space in the rooms were excellent as well. Separate rooms and bathrooms accommodated the large family with ease. Just the hallway needed to be cleaned. Some old bed clothes were left there for a day but they were cleaned and then there were some trash that was left behind. Other than that, it was great.
This resort exceeded our expectations. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. My family enjoyed all the amenities the resort had to offer and I strongly recommend it to anyone. whats not to like about this resort.
The unit we stayed in was very comfortable and well equipped. The on-site facilities (pools, tennis, game rooms) were terrific. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a great value. No.
Overall experience was good. I stayed in a lower floor unit and you could hear every movement of the people in the unit above us. This is not the first time I have had this issue at a Wyndham resort. Need to find a way to improve on this.
I needed to relax , write and also have the comforts of home, particularly the kitchen. It was nice and quiet. I wish I could have stayed longer, two days wasn't enough time. It was my second time at the property in as many months. Nice escape if you can afford it. I'm saving to go again. The full length mirror in my apartment was horrible. It was the type that belongs in a carnival fun house. I was very surprised at the lack of attention to THAT one detail and avoided the hall it was in.
free video games not helpful, not customer service oriented
Beautiful facility, lots of things for the kids to do. Very clean, spacious modern 2 bedroom unit. None, we loved the place.
audio speakers in the walls thru out - awesome! very comfortable furnishings no pay per view movies, couldn't get the dvd player to work, restaurant closed
Although the bathrooms were new and the bedding all of the doors and floors were definitely very old and gross See above
Value and staff Boiler went out and we had no hot water, and the phone didn't work.
The price It was dirty , no towels ( I called the desk and they made me come get them) the tv only got 1 channel since we didn't have a remote and the bed was broken in the middle, the complimentary breakfast was to run until 10 am but they never restocked it at 9 or 9:30so my choice was cereal but no milk or bread prisoners get better choices WE WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN!!!
The location was very convenient the indoor pool was a savior from the rain THE HOTEL WAS DIRTY there was an accident At the entrance with 3 cars that wasn't removed for hours while the staff was friendly they weren't very professional. They were out of uniform or in unclean uniforms.waiting to check in took over an hour i honestly didn't stay I just cancelled my reservations
I liked how close the hotel was to Busch Gardens. I liked the price. The bed was comfortable. Our TV did not work. At least two of our lamps did not work. And, due to unfortunate circumstances, there was no breakfast in the morning. Very disappointing.
Our room was clean, but coffee and soap were not replenished daily. It was a short drive to Williamsburg. We were gone all day to Jamestown, Yorktown and Monticello so the clean place to sleep mattered most. The hallways and elevator were hot and dirty. The pool was old and icky too. There was no AC in the lobby and hallways, only in the room.
The change in breakfast from the dining room to the foyer was poorly done. The room was not cleaned daily during out 4 day stay. The ice machine was not working and the coffee on our room was not resupplied daily.
Nothing To make it short, I booked it through KAYAK and when I got there they told me my reservation isn't there and its at a different date. I showed him my reservation and confirmation but he wouldn't do anything about and said it wasn't their fault. The attitude and manners were horrible.
The hotel was pet friendly and fairly priced, pretty clean too. I used to be a housekeeping manager so I learned a long time ago not to go shining black lights around. The staff was excellent with our dogs and very friendly. The hotel is mintues from bush gardens and colonel williamsburg. Rather loud bar scene in the hotel, which was fine we were there just Friday and Saturday night, the club goers didn't act like fools or anything, just be prepared fornthat if you are traveling with your family.
Not much! It was quiet. Convenient to great breakfast diner (Shorty's) and Food Lion 1) So much staff that did absolutely nothing 2) Bartenders that were clueless (staff too!) 3) Cleanliness of rooms = 0, maybe a .5 4) Front desk = sooo s-l-o-w 5) Was there for an event - food was late, then kept running out! Everything was cold. And did I mention the bartenders were clueless?
Nothing It was filthy. The room had mold. The hallways were disgusting and with faulty light fixtures and fire alarms were dangling from the ceiling. The pool had a woodplank in place of a broken window, and the hotel is NOT administered by Ramada.
The staff was working hard to help with all the issues Checked in around 9:30 pm from being at the local theme park all day. Noticed the hallways didn't look like they had been vacuumed in a while. Roomed looked ok but 10 pm was not the time to find out we didn't have any HOTWATER. We let it run for 10 minutes then called the lobby. They said due to recent work we needed to let it run for another 10. Well that didn't help at all. Called back and they gave us a new room on the other side of the hotel with no problems. The next morning while at breakfast i heard several others complaining about the cold showers. i know the breakfast is complimentry but hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal and waffles was the menu. Everyone was eating waffles because well really hard boiled eggs?? They had 1 waffle maker and it didn't always work correctly. The lady in charge was working very hard to keep everything clean and working. When you walk outside that's when you notice the flowers beds was overgrown in areas. My overall stay was not great and we will not suggest this place to anyone. The employees we encountered were great the hotel was simply in poor condition.
Perfect location to Historic Triangle (Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown) as well as to Bush Gardens and Water country USA. Very clean and wonderful staff! Beds were comfortable!
Everything was Great !!!
Everyone I interacted with was exceptional! This was probably one of the best experiences I've had at a hotel, everyone was nothing but helpful and very kind. Tell us more about the amenities when we're checking in, we had no idea there was a hot tub until it was too late. Still an amazing stay though!
Stay there! It is a wonderful place and it was a great experience. Nope, all was terrific.
The hotel is situated on a winery and it has it's own restaurant, which served a great breakfast. We noticed that the dinner was highly sought after but we ate in town. We're considering revisiting this hotel for our 10th wedding anniversary.
The atmosphere The internet connection was horrible
Everything was great. The lodge has a ton of activities that are free and other, more exciting activies for an extra fee (ropes course, bowling, etc.). There is always something to do besides the waterpark. Do expect to spend a lot more money because you will get nickled and dimed.
the water park is great. the food was overpriced and there was surprisingly little there that my picky eaters would eat (in the restaurant)- no burgers, no hot dogs. all amusements other than the waterpark were excessively overpriced.
I enjoy indoor waterparks, and thought this would be a nice stop-over after a long road trip home. One of the four tube rides was closed for the evening, which was a let-down. This park is also smaller than some of their other parks, so I don't see how anyone could spend large amounts of time here. The beds were also quite stiff and uncomfortable, although the pillows were nice. We also arrived to the waterpark at 7PM but still had to pay the full $10 locker rental price (since they require shoes to be worn to the park - we were forced to leave our shoes somewhere). Great Wolf definitely knows how to nickle and dime people. We have no kids and I seriously don't know how a family with children can afford to stay here!
We had an excellent time at Great Wolf. Lots of activities, awesome amenities and the food was excellent.
Water park which is small. The wave pool is ok. Food expensive. They will rip you off every way they can. Expensive. Room dirty. Carpet filthy. Wifi slow.
I loved everything, from the water park to the bed and all the great activities they hosted! The checkout was too early for check in to be so late.
Beautiful hotel. Staff was very friendly. My daughter loves going here. All kids look as if they are having a blast. I feel it was very expensive, even with the water park. The restaurants & all stores were very expensive. Every hotel in Williamsburg offers free breakfast but this place. The water park closes way too early at 8P.
Desk services and personnel were very customer friendly and very helpful with restaurant suggestions and other area features. Not really, Just wanted real eggs and bacon for breakfast.
Helpful staff, clean rooms, fantastic buffet breakfast. Many shops and eating places nearby
Great value for the money. Close proximity to colonial Williamsburg visitor center. Water pressure in the shower was not great.
