Nestled on the pristine Ile des Pins, one of New Caledonia's most prized islands, Le Méridien Ile des Pins is an enchanting resort destination. Here, amid white sandy beaches and cerulean seas, hotel guests can embrace signature Le Méridien service while becoming fully immersed in island life, where sweet-smelling coconut groves and towering pine trees abound. Dine at our two restaurants, which showcase immersive water views and French-inspired cuisine crafted from local ingredients. Visit Deep Nature Spa for a therapeutic massage or a bespoke facial, float in our tranquil infinity pool and embark on a 15-minute walk to the island's "natural swimming pool," a stunning phenomenon that is a beloved secret of locals and visitors alike. When the day is done, soak in views of the lagoon from your private Bungalow, where tranquil terraces, luxury bedding, oversized soaking tubs and high-speed Wi-Fi create an oasis of modern serenity in Ile des Pins.
Pros: The hotel is located in a remote area on the island. It is perfect for doing as little as possible, primarily rest and relaxation. The water is amazing, and the hotel is very comfortable. There are a series of short walks from the hotel, with the most popular being to the nearby sheltered snorkelling spot, which is protected from the ocean by a natural breakwater, and provides a haven for tropical fish of all types; an excellent swimming location for everyone of any age. Other than the hotel and snorkelling, there is little to do and see at this end of the island. We hired a scooter, and the two of us toured the island on this. It takes about 2-3 hours to get around the island, and the highlights are the amazing beaches on the south east of the island, and the quaint town of Vao, with its majestic church. The hotel itself is relatively modern, comfortable, tidy, and private. The staff at the property are also very helpful and accomodating. I would highly recommend this for someone looking for a two night excursion, with the hotel serving as a base for exploring the island.
Cons: Nothing was wrong with this hotel.
Pros: Fantastic location. Perfect sunsets. Bungalows were comfortable, clean and good air-con. Just a short walk to the Piscine Naturelle.
Cons: Maybe we timed it badly but mosquitos were a nuisance. Came prepared with repellant but rapidly ran out. Counted fifteen bites during check-in! No repellant for sale nor considering the price of our room complimentary spray or coils. Decided to forgo eating in the restaurant as we watched from the bar as other guests swatted mosquitos, slapping their faces and legs under the table. Room service did a good job of tidying but neglected to restock coffee and milk. Staff a little thin on the ground at times making it hard to order food and drinks. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Wifi also a little allusive at times. My BonVoy points weren't added even though I was assured they would be.
Pros: Paradise. Amazing location, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff.
Pros: First class accommodation
Cons: Food in restaurant disappointing but service attentive and good
Pros: Absolutely pristine beach location just out of this world. Great wifi worked all over the property right up to the oceans edge. Best location on the island but totally remote so enjoy the peace and tranquil surroundings and only the sounds of birds and wildlife. Beautiful remote secluded cabins, manicured gardens and plenty of friendly staff to assist wherever they could. A live aquarium at your doorstep.
Cons: I think being so remote the hotel should have had airport transfers included, considering the prices are so high. I thought the breakfast wasn't of the standard to expect from a Marriott chain. There was very little and basic choices on the buffet.
Pros: The beds where nice
Cons: It was so expensive to eat and drink $28 Nzd for a glass of wine. 60nzd for a main. Not quality food for price. Also we were unable to stay the last nice and told the staff on check in, they did not mention to us that we could have transferred our last nights accommodation to their other resort on the main land. We where charged the full 3 nights then we also had to pay for another nights accommodation. Essentially The last night cost us 900$nzd Not impressed
Pros: Very nice and friendly staff, including the resort manager. Beautiful and quiet location. Canoes, kayaks and paddle boards available free of charge. Good dinner quality/price.
Cons: Lunch buffet is expensive for the quality/limited selection available.
Pros: Stunning location... our favourite Pacific Island.
Cons: A bit expensive... but loved it anyway.
Pros: Splendid location. Super rooms and facilities.
Cons: Service in the restaurant not up to a 5star Hotel. We waited 20mi utes without water and any attention before we were asked what we wanted and were snubbed when we enquires about having some water etc. Batman did not know the basic cocktails. Unbelievable that they made us pay for transport to and from local airport.
Cons: THe food had very little fresh vegetables and fruit with it. Food was average and not up to the caliber

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request).
Pros: The hotel is good, in front of a nice beach.
Cons: Staff do not speak much English and the room is a bit old.
Pros: Locatiin. Very relaxing
Cons: Very expensive
Pros: The location is amazing - the snorkelling is fantastic and the whole atmosphere is very relaxing. We had a family Bungalow and it was perfect for the 4 of us for 4 nights.
Cons: The kid's dinner menu was a bit underwhelming compared to the amazing adult's menu.
Pros: the location is really nice. the beach is one of the best of the island.
Cons: (1) we asked to have a quite place to rest and we ended up between 3 bungalow that we being worked on. we felt like we were in the middle of a building site... although we ask the hotel to do something for us... the director offered late to move us to a upgrade bungalow the next day. When we were supposed to move, nothing was ready. After that the director clearly avoided us for the rest of our stay. I was expecting a discount when we were checking out as the director of the hotel clearly acknowledge the issue... but nothing. clearly disappointed. it is a new management and therefore I would strongly recommend potential traveller to look at recent feedback. (2) we have a 20 month old daughter and have been advised when we arrived that the food service was from 12 to 2pm (lunch restaurant) then 2:30 to 5:30 for snack (5 item unhealthy snacks only) and finally from 7pm for dinner. We explain our disappointment to the staff as our daughter nap from 12 to 2:30 and then go to bed around 6:30.... there was no way we could eat other than snacks and even with snacks at really odd hours. the hotel took few days before offering some kind of solution allowing us to pre-book lunch at 11:30 and then take our plate to our room... we did not want to pay 1000 francs for each dinner so we walked the 200 metres and collected our plates ourselves! In a nutshell this is a nice hotel but clearly not a 4 stars hotel. I would say it is a good 2 star hotel. During our stay we went to Le Meridien hotel for the day and the service was absolutely perfect... I would definitely recommend to go there if you want value for the money you spend... I would have prefer doing that for sure.
Pros: The resort is located in the best area of the island. The Lodge Bungalows are really cute and the beach is beautiful.
Pros: The meals for lunch and dinner were pricey but delicious
Cons: Breakfast was fairly ordinary and the “hot” food was cold on both of the mornings we ate there. On one morning in particular there was very little “hot” food available with still an hour and a half left of breakfast time
Pros: The location was simply awesome, beachside and private. Breakfast was very well catered for their French clientele as well as for us New Zealanders and Australians. All the staff are super friendly and speak fluent English which is very handy. We generally felt very well looked after.
Cons: It was a small event which did not prevent us from having a fantastic 6 days in paradise! One particular dish was served one night, it was far too dry and unpalatable. When we complained discreetly to our waitress nothing was done...no one came out to discuss this further and we were charged. When mentioned to Reception the next day nothing had been mentioned (in the Restaurant's nightly report) we were still charged when most of the meal was returned. The Receptionist sincerely apologised which we accepted but nothing was given as a trade off which was a bit disappointing.
Pros: The food at the restaurant was excellent The location of the resort was beautiful
Cons: Staff at restaurant often grumpy, I got food poisoning from breakfast buffee not being fresh Tv broken, umbrellas broken, overall overpriced
Pros: Beautiful setting, best beach I've ever seen! The staff were lovely, and the dinners were delicious!
Cons: Literally the only downside is the single use plastic, I really didn't like having to buy large bottles of water as we couldn't drink the tap water. I use my own water bottle, so maybe would have been better if there were filtered water refill stations? Instead of buying large bottles to then chuck away to landfill (no recycling in New Caledonia).
Pros: I like the facilities
Cons: Restaurant only has limited options and are all expensive
Situated by the shores of Kuto Bay, this hotel offers air-conditioned rooms and bungalows, just metres from the beach. The restaurant is located on the beach and features uninterrupted sea views. Each room and bungalow at Hotel Kou Bugny features a TV, refrigerator and private bathroom. Most have outdoor seating and a bathtub. Rooms with a spa bath or private sauna are available. The hotel is located on the beautiful Île des Pins (Isle of Pines). Guests have access to snorkelling and canoeing equipment. The Nautilus Restaurant is located in a prime position on the beach, featuring an outdoor terrace and cocktail menu. Hotel Kou Bugny is a 5-minute walk from Kuto Wharf where ferries depart for Noumea city centre, 80 km away. Isle of Pines Airport is a 15-minute bus ride away.
Pros: the beach was just across the road. room and bed was comfortable.
Cons: I enquired with reception about car rental and she quoted me 60,000 franc which was ridiculously expensive (I even asked her twice and she repeated and spelt the numbers out to me) which I did not end up renting. upon my check out I saw the flyer on the receptions desk, the price was only 8000 franc. i felt as though as the receptionist had lied to me because she may have not wanted me to rent the car and so she had bumped it up to an excessive 60,000 franc. It had ruined my trip as there were other places I wanted to visit and couldnt to because the receptionist had purposely misquoted me.
Pros: A visit to the local natural aquarium was amazing. Transfer arranged by hotel.
Pros: Nice popular property on one of the better beaches. Nice staff. Hard to fault. Thanks for the stay
Pros: Staff were friendly and tried to be helpful
Cons: The food was extremely poor, limited options, poorly prepared (over cooked, especially the vegetables) and expensive - we were a captured market with no other eating options available -
Pros: Location, beach nearby
Cons: Hotel didn’t tell us when booking the car, that the international driver licence is needed. We were told about it the next day, which was too late to get a car from another hotel using NZ license.
Pros: Family bungalow was great, fantastic buffet breakfast was good value, beach was beautiful, priogue excursion excellent.
Cons: Some facilities getting tired, need some maintenance & freshening up...
Pros: Good location
Cons: The shop attached to the hotel seemed to be closed most of the time
Pros: The location is unbeatable, the beach is clean and beautiful and the gardens are immaculate. We liked the two-storey bungalow, it was spacious and clean and the beds were comfy. We didn't have any problems with mosquitos. There is a lot to do around the area.
Cons: One of the downers of our stay was the insanely large bill for food and transport that surprised us at the end. Working through it (it was in French) we discovered that they we charged 200 dollars too much (for example 4 kids breakfasts instead of 3). It hadn't been transparent that the food prizes on the menu didn't include tax and the prizes were definitely way to high for what we were served. The breakfast buffet was very average, baguettes and croissants didn't seem fresh (which they should, considering the prize), the coffee was undrinkable etc. At lunch time the super expensive French fries were served in a plastic container. The problem is that other hotels, "restaurants" and the little shop are a 20 minutes walk away and families with small kids don't have much choice. The prize for the transport from the ferry terminal to the hotel which takes literally two minutes was an absolutely rip-off. One day we wanted to rent a car (there were three rental cars available at the hotel) but the receptionist told us that on the island you need an international drivers license to rent a car, which we of course didn't have. When we enquired at the neighbor hotel (20 min walk) it turned out this wasn't true, we got a car from there. There is WIFI but only in the "lobby" (which was ok for us but is maybe good to know). Altogether, the service was quite impersonal and careless and not as friendly and welcoming as at all the other places that we visited in New Caledonia.
Pros: the resort is in front of an idyllic beach. Restaurant is good
Cons: furniture in the room is old. Especially the wardrobe in the main room was horrible, almost broken.
Pros: A lovely relaxed family friendly bungalow. The gardens were beautiful. We could hear the waves on the beach.
Cons: A kitchenette in the room. Cooking facilities.
