Pros. The location was very good. Didn’t find any evidence of bed bugs. Decently comfortable beds. At least one of the staff members was helpful and nice.
Cons. Overall this hotel was very unclean, the staff was mostly unhelpful, and the hotel was in desperate need of renovation. The linens were unclean and mismatched. Generally it seemed that nothing in the hotel had been updated in 30 years, and most of the supplies seemed like old stuff from other hotels. See below for more details. We stayed in this hotel for a regional student conference. There were 13 of us in four separate rooms. We had significant issues with this hotel from the beginning. When I was booking the hotel through their corporate hotline, I requested that they email me a credit card authorization form so that our University could provide them with their credit card. I didn’t receive anything after a week or so, I called the hotel directly to request a Credit Card authorization form. Since I live in the 21st century, I simply asked them to email a blank one to me. They claimed that it was impossible to do so, even though they have a digital copy of it. The manager claimed that it was their policy to only fax this form. Red flag #1. When we got there around 6pm, one of our four rooms was not ready. Since there was a conference going on, I figured they were just busier than normal. We waited about an hour and they told us it was ready. When we went up to the room, we found that it was not. Red flag #2. At this point, there was practically a sign right in front of my face that was telling me to get out while I could. After another hour, the room was finally ready. Luckily, the employee at the desk gave us a discount because of the delay. Upon inspection of the rooms, it was very clear that the pillow cases had not been washed and it was questionable whether the sheets had been cleaned either. Two of our rooms had hair on the pillows and in the sheets, and the pillows in all of the rooms were wrinkled in the middle on one side, further pointing to a lack of clean linens. Additionally, We found small blood spots on the sheets of one of the beds. The lady at the front desk gave us a different room, which had even more hair all over the pillows. We should have just left at this point and found another hotel, but Since it was about 1:30am at this point, we resolved to get new pillow cases from the front desk and tried to not think about the lack of cleanliness. The next day, when we returned from our conference to change for dinner, none of us were able to get into our rooms. The lady at the desk reprogrammed our cards and all was well. Surprisingly, it looked like room service had made a visit to our rooms, however none of the linens had been changed, not that we expected anything different. When we checked out the next day, they had incorrectly charged my personal credit card rather than the University card. The guy at the desk was very helpful and said that he would have it taken care of in 10 minutes. According to my CC statement, he was true to his word.
Pros. Good service. Not too busy. Price ok.
Pros. This was one of the nicest 2-star hotels that I think I've ever stayed in. I found it to be a great value for the price - nice sized room, modern, clean, breakfast included, elevators in good condition, a small workout room, and free wifi. The bathroom was very nice and appeared to have been renovated recently - I was impressed with the granite countertops -- again, not something I would expect at a 2-star hotel! My travel partner said that the bed in his room was in poor condition, but I found mine to be fine. I would stay here again.
Cons. N/A
Pros. Quiet, ample parking, cleanliness.
Cons. When I was first assigned a room I went to it , opened it up and there was someone in the room. TV on, baggage on bed, someone in bathroom. Went to desk to ask for another room. They said there was not supposed to be anyone in that room and they called security and assigned me another room.
