Pros: Consideration for the guest. Their service was really nice.
Cons: The bathroom door made big sound when we close the door. Screw of shower was loose so it was not fixed well.
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa - Kapolei - Building
3
9.1 Excellent (4,424 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, is a wonderful place to go for a Disney-Hawaiian vacation. This fine establishment features easy access to the airport, a number of dining options, many types of rooms to choose from, and of course plenty of Disney magic. Aulani has self-parking and valet services to make coming and going from the resort effortless, and travelers can also take advantage of public transportation to get around the island and to the hotel. Both the public transportation and private taxis available can take guests to all sorts of activities on the island that range from shimmering lagoons and ranches to the North Shore beaches, historic Pearl Harbor, and more. 7.4 Good
Pros: The entertainment was great, especially the lu'au Kawa'a.
Cons: But if a drive to anywhere else on Oahu.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Too expensive
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Besides paying $500 + a night for your room- plan on paying extra for EVERYTHING!! Parking is $39 a day. The snorkeling in Rainbow Reef that they advertise on their commercials is an additional $25 for an adult. Children over the age of 9 are considered adults at the resort. I felt after paying the room rate, these things should be included.
6.8 Good
Pros: I liked the pools for kids.
Cons: Dark and gloomy inside. Nothing special, just over-priced. Don't expect much Disney-related stuff. Just saw Goofy once. Oh and the clock in the room was a Mickey Mouse clock. My family had a better time on Waikiki Beach staying at Hyatt Regency Beachwalk with a oceanview room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Played all day in the salt water pool.
Cons: Food portions are small but that is to be expected.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Customer service was excellent, there was always someone to help with everything, grounds are kept very clean, Beautiful location, aunties beach house is great for kids, water slides were fun, infinity pool had a gorgeous view, dole whips tasted very good, character breakfast full of great songs and entertainment.
Cons: Wanted more shows that were enjoyable for adults and kids. All shows and games were for kids only. Also the room temperature was very cold always. Rooms could have been bigger and more impressive for the cost. All inclusive would have made this worth the high cost. More chairs needed by pool and beach area, not enough lounge chairs for all guests.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the perfect destination with Disney perfection for all aspects. Everything is exactly how you would want it.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: I was so impressed as we drove up. The property is beautiful and feels very Hawaiian. Not obviously Disney, but it's there if you are looking for it. I was on my own and stayed just one night as an alternative to Waikiki. I was curious about the property. It was very expensive for just me, but I was given an upgrade to an ocean view room when I checked in. I was very pleased with that! Didn't have much time to get the whole experience, just a swim at the beach and watched a beautiful sunset, but if I was with kids and/or grandkids, I think this would be a very special place to stay.
Cons: couldn't find anything I didn't like.
The Kahala Hotel & Resort - Honolulu - Building
4
9.1 Excellent (2,576 reviews)
Overview Reviews
In 1964, the Kahala Hotel quickly became a Hawaiian icon housing a lot of A-listers and Presidents. The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a posh property with lush grounds and celebrity clientele, but it’s still appropriate for a family-friendly stay. The oceanfront Kahala Hotel and Resort is situated on the island’s priciest areas in Oahu’s posh Kahala neighborhood. There’s not much within walking distance, but guests are just a five-minute drive from grocery stores, a movie theater, and restaurants. The crater park that defines the shoreline, Diamond Head State Monument, is an eight-minute drive and offers fabulous views of Waikiki and Honolulu from its peak. Roughly a 20-minute drive will lead guests to Waikiki, central Honolulu, and The Hanauma Bay State Nature Preserve. Amenities at the resort focus solely on vacationers with a gorgeous, secluded beach, oceanfront saltwater pool, hot tub, and small kids’ pool. A large ocean-view gym offers state-of-the-art equipment, classes, a steam room, and sauna. In addition, the Kahala Spa offers standard spa services. One of the hotel's most popular features is its Dolphin Quest, where guests can have a once-in-a-lifetime interactive dolphin experience. There are four on-site restaurants, two are oceanfront and offer international menus, sandwiches, and quick bites. The guest room at Kahala are big and classy with a mix of sizes and décor. All rooms feature common amenities such as air conditioning, free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and iHomes. Other conveniences and room standards include coffeemakers with free coffee and tea, mini-fridges, bottled water, luggage stands, robes, slippers, hairdryers, and much more. The huge granite accented bathrooms are as glorious as the rooms with upgraded toiletries, glass showers, soaking tubs, and much more.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and growns are amazing
Cons: The dolidpin and turtle tanks, way to small for them to live
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Private beach means it is never overcrowded. Friendly, professional staff. Dolphin Lagoon a must experience for kids. Big, comfortable room with comfortable bed, nice bath amenities. All toilets have a bidet, which is a nice surprise. Beautiful grounds and atmosphere.
Cons: Above average humidity for this time of year. We were told it was due to the El Nino from winter. Small pool (and number of chaise lounges) that can get crowded quickly. Food from the Seaside Grill and Plumeria is overpriced and okay, at best. Drinks overpriced, but tastes great.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Kahala is located close enough to the city action yet far enough away where it's remote. Though the pool area was relatively small, it was never crowed. The dolphin lagoon and sea turtle exhibit was quite amazing. Beach was also gorgeous and calm. No complaints about the Kahala. Would definitely visit again.
Cons: Wish there was good snorkeling right around there but that's asking for too much!!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The food is excellent. While parts of the facility are outdated, it is well maintained and the attentive staff makes up for the slightly dated appearance. The beach is awesome.
Cons: The pool should be larger. The poolside menu could use some more pizazz and creativity.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to everything in Waikiki but not in the midst of the resorts
Cons: Dirty stain/spot on floor in bathroom next to tub was there every day even after cleaning. All else was nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: front desk staff, courteous professional bar staff, main lobby friendly helpful
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Out of waikiki, room views
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone on the staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are immaculate and the view is amazing With the Renovation Discount it was about Half price maybe even less than half and absolutely an great value
Cons: Nothing
5.1 Okay
Pros: The spa is awesome.
Cons: We spent 2 nights here, it doesn't worth the money. The hotel in Wakiki is generally expensive, but if you want a 4 star experience, choose hotels like Sheraton or Westin. Need to pay extra for wifi, parking, even water after first night. The room is quite small for a 4 star standard.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: It is a fantastic facility. I enjoyed my stay
Cons: Nothing I didn't like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Whenever we asked for service, (maintenance, engineer, housekeeping), they came within 5 minutes.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was under renovation but the staff was so amazing. It totally made our stay. Will surely stay in the future.
6.8 Good
Pros: The hotel is nice. The views are pretty. The staff were courteous and helpful. It's clean. The location downtown is close to most everything.
Cons: It's not on the beach, which isn't a deal breaker, but I wasn't feeling the "Hawaiian vibe". It just wasn't there. Everything closes super early, even the hotel bar and it's all sub par, nothing too fabulous. I guess the word I could use that would fit this hotel is generic. It's not holiday inn generic, but it's definitely not worth the price, the parking fees, or the resort fee. I didn't feel like I really fit in too well either. If you're a tourist to Hawaii and you'll barely spend time at the hotel, this is the one if you're willing to pay the price. I also didn't feel like I fit in here. If you're coming from Japan though, you'll fit right in.

Pros: The pool is really nice! The rooms were luxurious and the staff were very helpful.

8.5 Excellent
Cons: They could not/would not give us a lock off unit when our plans changed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The convenience of having a good amount of things on-site was pleasant, even if my wallet disagrees. The staff was pleasant, and the amenities/property were clean & well maintained. There are a good number of activities onsite, so you are never bored.
Cons: I did not like the high prices of the restaurants around the property. Also, the distance to the town for alternative restaurants/grocery stores wasa minimum if 3 miles, which required either a car or a shuttle, both of which required additional spending. For the large amount of money the resort charges for almost everything, the least they could do is provide a shuttle to the town of Kapolei. The high price if convenience left my wallet feeling fleeced.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location is great for me when I work in Campbell.
Cons: It's a mediocre extended stay hotel in a beautiful location where everything is crazy overpriced me done halfway to normal standards... to be fair, 95%of the hotels on Oahu are this way m, I've stayed at 30+ hotels.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great facilities for families with children. Beautiful private beach and enclosed lagoon. Restaurants are close by.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Accommodations were great. Location is picturesque. If you plan to go, try to be there for the FIA FIA Luau on Tuesday evenings. Really amazing dinner show.
Cons: No children’s club unlike other locations—though many activities planned each day.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: n/a
Cons: We did not get the ocean view room we paid for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice lagoon beach
Cons: Most pools shaded
7.4 Good
Pros: Location, cabana service, gym. One server at chuck's and Oscar at longboards
Cons: Very difficult to get housekeeping, poor communication with resort operator and pressure to be out exactly at the checkout time.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Beauty of the place
Cons: Pricy without any deals
8.5 Excellent
Pros: We originally looked at staying at the Disney hotel but we're able to get a much better deal using Marriott points here. We were glad we did as we actually preferred the setting of this hotel. It is on its own lagoon just like Disney and had multiple pools for the kids that seemed just as fun. We liked how the grounds felt much more open to the beach vs. Disney where you could barely tell you were on the beach from the pools and restaurants. We were able to watch whales breaching right from the pool bar while the kids swam. You are an easy stroll along a paved boardwalk from Disney so can still visit the hotel and restaurants there. The daily list of activities with something almost every hour is a lot of fun. There are free DVD rentals in multiple places around the grounds. Our unit had 2 separate bedrooms as well as living room and kitchen. Lots of space for large or extended family.
Cons: View from our room wasn't great. Could see a Marina somewhat, but mostly looked over parking garage. Hotel is maintained well, but definitely starting to get dated in the rooms. This isn't a huge deal as all the common areas are updated and we didn't spend much time in the room but this is one area where I think Disney would have an edge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff. Great facilities. Nice rooms and views. Quiet and relaxing area of the island.
Cons: Just a nitpick, but the tv was a little dim. Made it hard too see movies (since they had on site DVD rental)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is one of our favorite Marriott properties. We have been coming here for four years and it is always like coming home! The staff is perfect in every way and they continually seek to make our stay comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. The lagoons, pools, activities and services are the best. Our two favorite things...everything is always nice and pristine and no surprises! That's three! I could go on and on.
Cons: We have to go home!

11
9.0 Excellent (677 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Start your peaceful Zen-like getaway the moment you step through the doors of Lotus Honolulu at Diamond Head. Our exclusive boutique hotel is nestled between Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach — an ideal location for travelers who want an intimate oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, yet don’t want to be far from the action and excitement.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location away from hustle/bustle of Waikiki, cleanliness and modern design of rooms, very comfortable bed, views of Diamondhead and partial view of ocean.
Cons: Ocean views are not truly full ocean views - partial only. The lone elevator was intermittently working during my stay, which makes things challenging staying on a high floor. Breakfast only had coffee/tea and pre-made items.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous polished floors and a lovely sleek decor. Quiet, beautiful. Will return soon!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff and bicycles
Cons: Bed was a little old. Needs updating.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, good style, fast and informative check-in. Resort fee includes access to some useful amenities and valet parking. Location is in a quiet area, and 10 minute walk to start of main Waikiki beach.
Cons: Room was across from the elevator, and it was noisy. Cleaning staff started at 8 or 8:30am, and no seal around the door to limit or reduce the noise coming into the hotel room..

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The security guard was cool and the maintainance guy was cool.. That's it
Cons: Front desk, the room, and the hidden fees.. Wifi cost 12$ They hold 100$ Practically everything else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked how nice they were. Literally they gave us a hospitality room to rest before our flight free of Charge. The bartenders and staff were super nice
Cons: The fact that we had to leave and didn't see more of hawaii
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Design, size of property, warmth and professionalism of staff. Value is great and since I live on another Hawaiian island, I liked the location, a somewhat quiet area of Waikiki but very close to the action. Great for LGBT travellers as well. You are far enough from the madding crowds and most of the guests were warm and friendly.
Cons: Pool needs to be heated and music is too loud. Also, (and I wish this was at every hotel), the shower was a bit complicated and took time to figure out how to properly adjust temperature, etc. Instructions would be helpful. Also, I called to find out where the channel guide for the tv was located and Front Desk did not know. Remodel those elevator cabs.....yuck!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: This place was great for us being the budget travellers. The room was a little out dated but it was clean, spacious and had everything we wanted. I would recommend this hotel!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceeded expectations in every way possible! Amazing upgrades for my birthday including an incredible pool view and a bottle of champagne! I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Waikiki!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As a local resident, they dropped the resort fee for me and gave me a discount for park. Much mahalo. We stayed from time to time and the people at the front desk all recognized us.
Cons: Nothing.

8.8 Excellent (4,888 reviews)
Overview Reviews
There comes a time in every traveler’s life where they have to go on the big vacation, and in many cases the big trip is to Hawaii. The Hawaiian Islands provide some of the best natural views and unique culture that is available to travelers while still having the comfort of staying in the United States. Visiting Hawaii means staying in a great location, and in the city of Honolulu, one of the best places to stay is the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort is located right in the heart of Honolulu’s famous Waikiki Beach. This is the scene of many Hawaiian vacation dreams. The hotel is beautifully decorated with furnishings reminding you that you’re in paradise. The location is amazing – the large windows of your room look out to some of the most amazing beaches in the world. Inside the hotel, there are plenty of things to do, including heading right out to the beach that the hotel is built on. When it comes to dining, Hawaiian cuisine is some of the most unique in America. The flavors are out of this world and many folks visit Hawaii only to come away with a new sense of cuisine thanks to the fusion of American favorites with Polynesian and Asian interpretations on them. While the hotel is located around some excellent restaurants, another option is to stay in and enjoy a meal at Kani Ka Pila Grille or the Reef Bar and Market Grill. Everyone should visit Hawaii, and if you’re looking for a great stay, the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort will check all the boxes.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Key location to other touristy areas
Cons: Way too much emphasis on Timeshare resort purchase!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay overall.
7.7 Good
Cons: Being charged resort fees at the hotel when I was told in my reservation / confirmation email there were none.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and the comfortable. We ate at the Kani Ka Pila Grill 2 evenings and for 1 breakfast. Everything we ate was very good and the service was good. The Mai Tais were awesome. Be sure to go for Happy Hour, great food and drink prices with live entertainment. There is more live entertainment in the evenings. We heard 3 different groups and all were excellent.
Cons: We were disappointed in the Shore Bird Restaurant. The mai tais were so good at the grill that we ordered them here and were very disappointed. We regretted ordering the buffet. It was okay but not for what we paid (even considering island prices. Can only hope ordering off the menu would be better. It is very difficult to walk in the water in front of the hotel, water shoes are highly recommended. we later learned that just down the beach it was a sandy bottom. Wish someone had shared that with us,
2.8 Mediocre
Cons: We paid for a ocean front view sweet and got stuck with a hotel view of the other side of the hotel. The room was made for handicapped people and there was nothing sweet about it. I paid an extra 200 dollars for an oceanfront view and I feel like a got screwed. Also they charged me 38 bucks for parking and 31 dollars on a resort fee, and the hotel that was suppose to be on Wikiki was actually on a different beach. This was our last night on our honeymoon and the hotel sent me an email at midnight to with them about the room and I didnt see the email till the next day when we had no time to talk due to the flight we needed to catch. Also the shower head was busted and it took over 20 minutes to get our rental car from the valet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located right on the beach with plenty of activities avail. Much more secluded and private compared to downtown. I think this location is more upscale compared to the other Outrigger Beach. We did have a great view of the pool and could leave the door open for the lani then listen to the nightly entertainment. Everything to eat and shop is in walking distance. They were very welcoming upon arrival with a cool towel and a mango drink. The staff is very accomodating and friendly. This is for sure my go-to place in Waikiki.
Cons: The only think I could say.... Would be the servers poolside. I gave him my money and it took about 15/20 mins before he came back with my drink.... I ended up going to the bar myself the rest of my stay and the bartenders were excellent, friendly, quick, and much better.
7.1 Good
Pros: Valet service, Maint, check-in was great.
Cons: Didnt like the room too much...had cityview...but not city just a wall ..also was on 3rd floor.

Pros: THE BEACH ACCESS, FAMILY FRIENDLY, AND LOCATION. THIS WAS ONE OF THE VACATIONS OUR FAMILY HAS HAD.

Pros: Staff is super friendly. Suites are roomy and having separate living room is convenient when partner wants to rest. Market street shopping and numerous restaurants are right out the door of hotel. Beach and other resorts are across the street. We have stayed here six times and will return again.

Pros: Courtesy room to be used after you check out (30 minutes on a first come first serve basis). Large and comfortable room. Service from Staff was outstanding.
Cons: Daily parking fee, breakfast was just OK. Slow and small elevators.

Pros: So very happy with my stay here. A wonderful bright, cheery welcome awaited me from Jinny upon checkin. I had booked the least inexpensive room I could find, so enquired about getting an ocean view, and was thrilled when Jinny found a room on the top floor with views of ocean, pool, and city. ise" in the background was easily acclimated to. Superbly helpful valets, bellpeople, customer service. Few tiny bumps, but wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Breakfast buffet typical, but was happy to see it well staffed to keep tables and areas clean. PS really liked their biz center, gym and laundry (always like hotels that don't charge for printing a few pages or faxing).
Cons: Room and furnishing were nice and bellman even made sure to turn on refrigerator upon arrival. Only downsides I found were air conditioning was problematic, had thermostat set at 70, and room was closer to 80. Mattress has seen its better days, but linens were fresh and new. It might be the location of the room, but sounded like muffled fireworks going off every night, which after tthee first few nights determined it was an internal to hotel noise issue rat her than eternal. Like everything it was a trade off, I'm sure they woujld have moved me had I asked, but really liked the view so the "white no

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location makes this a great place to stay if you plan on visiting all the wonders located everywhere on the Oahu. Free parking and free made-to-order hot breakfast, and free happy hour evening drinks at the bar was an added bonus. Lots of shopping and great places to eat only minutes away. Room was clean and includes mini fridge and microwave. Staff was super friendly and courteous, and even gave us beach towels to use for the day (everyday). We enjoyed our stay very much.
Cons: Location is away from typical “tourist” areas of the island. So if you’re looking for busy crowds and nightlife within walking distance, this isn’t the place for you. You’ll definitely need a rental car if staying here. Room has AC, which was nice to see, however it struggled to keep up on one of Hawaii’s “hot” days.

8.8 Excellent (495 reviews)
Overview Reviews
If you are looking to be transported back to a different time, the Laylow Autograph Collection has preserved all that is 1960’s Hawaii in their resort. The mid-century décor belies modern convenience and comfort. Strolling into the lobby will feel as if you’ve been transported back to a time when Waikiki first captured the imagination of Americans in the contiguous 48 states. Starting with the food options, the modern meets the mid-century. The farm-to-table concept is displayed here through a variety of dishes and restaurant concepts. The coffee shop is a caffeine lover’s dream and the mid-century décor extends even to the coffee maker. Hideout and Our Spot serve food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a setting overlooking Waikiki’s Kuhio Avenue. With plenty of craft beers and signature cocktails, there’s plenty of reasons to relax in these places. All of the rooms are well apportioned and keep with the mid-century theme. There are several different types of rooms and all have fantastic views. The room amenities include what’s expected in every hotel, but the Laylow Autograph Collection includes a few Hawaiian twists such as ukulele lessons and an E Komo Mai basket. If looking for something to do, the location of the hotel is ideal as it sits right in the heart of Waikiki. This is the hub of Honolulu and there are great dining and entertainment a short walk from the hotel, including the famous Waikiki Beach. Make the Hawaiian vacation dream come to life by booking a stay at the Laylow Autograph Collection in Honolulu.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was very nice after we requested to move from one which was near the elevator on the 3rd floor with absolutely NO view to one on a higher level with a better view and larger room. The bathroom, although small for a suite, was above average and stocked with ample amount of towels. I enjoyed the large screen smart tv in room.
Cons: The check in was awkward and the staff did not greet right away. Also the housekeeping staff is not as friendly as other hotels I have stayed at. Lastly when the bellman brought down our belongings we noticed they were unattended near the check in desk where anybody could’ve easily taken something.
6.0 Good
Cons: The vent had an issue, it made a clicking noises all night. Thermostat also doesn't work well. Overall, I didn't have a restful stay this time due to the noisy vent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the location and rooms are clean and staff was great! Totally recommend to all travellers heading to Waikiki.

Cons: There was, in our opinion, nothing to dislike.
7.7 Good
Pros: Location is excellent. Restaurants are great with excellent staff.
Cons: Late checkout is $25 per hour. Maybe this is a new standard but it's not guest-friendly. When flights leave late in the afternoon, an 11:00 am checkout with no convenient option for staying an extra hour is very inconvenient.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was amazing!!! Everyone was willing to go the extra mile to help out. The location is amazing and in the heart of Waikiki!
Cons: Wifi Connectivity is limited to 3 devices and customer support cannot change this. The lack of a full bath tub was disappointing.

Cons: Noise from other guests in hallway was a little annoying
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. Nice that there is an available laundry available. Decent size rooms. Friendly staff.
Cons: Not crazy about Duke's. Mediocre food and service. Pool area is on the small side.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located hotel with a very popular restaurant/bar located on the ground level.
Cons: This is a very busy hotel that lacks a "real" lobby. Some people might not even notice this, but it may the stay feel odd, sort of unofficial since the only time we interacted with any staff was when we checked in.

Pros: The staff was friendly and very helpful. They truly accentuated the Aloha spirit. The hotel is beautiful and centrally located in Waikiki near the new International Marketplace with lots of restaurants and shopping to choose from.
Cons: The pool is 18” deep. So it’s not meant for swimming.
