10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house it self is sort of taken from a movie setting. Classic english cottage. Super cosy arriving and getting tea with biscuits if we wanted. The hostess gave us great tips of where to go and eat and then go to take a drink at the local pub. The surroundings are very calm and gentle. Gorgeous nightsky since there were no light pollusion at all. The bed comfortable, interior nice and the bathroom very fresh. Had everything we needed. Large home cooked english breakfast. Yum. Yeah its almost unbelievable but I agree with previous speakers regarding the high rating. We got the perfect english countryside experience.
Cons: The only detail is that we got woken up by the dog yapping in the morning.

Pros: Our hosts, Lynn and Simon, were amazing! Home is charming and well amenitized. Right across from 15th Century church. Our stay could not have been better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely B&B. Travel delay brought us in late; owner Lynn was extraordinary and allayed all fears about late hours of arrival! Not only a beautiful home and guest rooms along with a cooked to order delicious multi faceted breakfast daily, but a wonderful caring and sharing person whom we were so happy to engage and converse with. And when we left Wheelwrights, she was so kind as to remind us of our used laundry bag that we had left!! Could not be more accommodating, warm or welcoming. Highly recommend - the only caveat are the rooms are upstairs, with a somewhat steep/narrow but short staircase ( for those with mobility issues ). Would absolutely return - in an instant!

Pros: friendly hosts, in a great location.

Pros: The helpfulness and professionalism of all the staff. Lynn, the Manager, went above and beyond to help when we arrived a day early by mistake. Pros: The hosts were very welcoming and the property a delight. Plenty of choices for breakfast all beautifully prepared.
Cons: I had unbeknowingly booked a room which was not totally suitable for my disabled husband with it having a stone spiral staircase and a very lovely but low French bed. The Red Lion Inn - Somerton - Building
7
9.1 Excellent (324 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Somerton, The Red Lion Inn is in a rural location, within a 15-minute drive of Lytes Cary Manor and Tintinhull House Garden. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The old Inn is beautiful and the dining room is in the old building. Bedrooms are in a renovated separate building. They seem new and are very comfortable ,spacious and well -equipped. The bathroom had a shower and bath which we appreciated. Breakfast was served in a separate building and the buffet was a little sparse although my husband's cooked breakfast was good. We only stayed one night and we had dinner the pub restaurant in the old pub building. The food and service were distinctly better than the breakfast experience I thought.
Cons: The inside handle of the bedroom door fell off! This was alarming - I felt trapped but we were able to put it on again ourselves but we thought there was a screw missing. I reported this as we left but somehow I don't think it was given the immediate attention that was needed. The pub and restaurant seem excellent , now I think they need to lift the level of staff attention to overnight guests to the same high standard.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous little hideaway ..... lovely accommodation .... great food ...We’ll be back! We ate late on the first night in the restaurant.... the starter of mussels was delicious .... and our mains of risotto and steak were too ( although the steak cut was perhaps a little smaller than expected for the price ) .... we didn’t try the outdoor pizza stove - but that’s one next time with the atmosphere in the garden area relaxed and comfortable ... The Barn accommodation is just lovely with all you could want facilities wise and beautifully furnished .... We’ll definitely be back to the Red Lion Inn - a real hidden Gem...

Pros: Breakfast was very good both days both full English and continental the room was very clean and tidy shower was very good with plenty of power and hot water.

Pros: Bright, large room. Comfy bed. Nice bathroom. Easy parking, good outdoor play area for kids. Pleasant service in the restaurant although on the slow side.
Cons: Very hot room, poor air circulation. Not great selection of in-room teas, & not enough milk provided. Dinner was ok but not brilliant - not enough vegetarian or fish / seafood choices. Breakfast not as advertised online - a main reason we chose this accommodation, unfortunately. So, no eggs Benedict or Florentine, no pancakes with maple syrup ☹️ Just full English (which was on the small side, although nicely cooked). Our room was above the kitchen so the fans were audible in our bathroom.

Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here the night before Glastonbury festival. Excellent value for money, comfy super king bed and good breakfast which the staff kindly agreed to make slightly early for us.
Cons: Nothing in particular, this is a traditional country pub not a 5 star spa hotel, it does what it says on the tin!
4.5 Okay
Pros: Evening meal and breakfast were superb, as was the polite chef who brought the evening meal out.
Cons: Landlady totally ignored guests in favour of a bunch of locals, who hogged the centre of the bar for the evening with dogs. One guest on check-in with children was just given a key and told "you will find your room. Go through the white door in the yard outside and then go up some stairs". Internet was claimed to be 100% everywhere. However it was non existent in the bedrooms. There are numerous kitchen/bar extractor fans outside bedroom windows on a flat roof, which are nosey due to worn bearings. Road facing roams suffer from a very busy road.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was ok - we are gluten free and they always had GF bread for us. Location was good, not too far from Glastonbury and beds were comfy. Service was nice.
Cons: Room needs a good cleaning. We had lots of dust on the headboard. Shower broke after first use - they offered us to take shower in another room which we had to do for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was ok, not more - no alternative dairy available.

All the food was fresh produce freshly cooked and prepared homemade by a fabulous chef who absolutely nailed every dish. Compliments to the Chef. Breakfast again a fabulous choice of quality meals. First class table service for both evening and breakfasts. They also do theme nights! Cook bbq’s outdoors as well! A fabulous bar and fabulous caring staff. I was pleasantly surprised to see CrossKeys also had a camping field with excellent provisions toilet, shower and wash area. Our hotel room had everything you could possibly need, hairdryer, kettle, tea/coffee/drinking chocolate and complimentary bottles of water and biscuits. There was even a silent fan to help keep us cool through these heated nights. The bed soooo comfortable I just didn’t want to get up from. Exceptionally clean bed linen and mattress. The en-suite shower sink and toilet so clean. The instant hot water made showering a pleasure. Toiletries supplied. Wow even an iron and ironing board was in the hallway should a guest need the use of one. What else can I say? They cater for party wedding receptions too! It’s quirky and beautiful seated barn looks charming. Congratulations to Cross Keys Inn you have a fantastic establishment. It must be rated a 5 star as you genuinely deserve it. PERFECT!! Thank you for a wonderful stay. I totally recommend anyone to come and stay.
Cons: Nothing to dislike at all!
7.0 Good
Pros: Cooked breakfast was very good, though no fruit juice was obvious. Furnishings in the room were good.
Cons: The shower floor was very slippery and we didn't notice a non-slip mat. The floor in our room obviously had a hole in it under the carpet. Anyone wearing stiletto heels would have probably pierced the carpet and injured herself. We reported it at checkout, though anyone cleaning the room must have noticed it!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: We had an appointment at Langport at 8am, when we mentioned this the evening staff contacted the breakfast chef (Angela?) who came in early and served us some perfect poached eggs. Thankyou. My wife and I both commented that the Inn was not in any the way pretentious, and that much better for not being so. Our room was spotless.
Cons: It was a particularly busy night with all the staff struggling to cope, if they had interacted with customers a little more it may have lightened the atmosphere a bit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hot day, and the lovely staff made sure we had extra fans to keep the room cool. Plenty tea/ coffee in the well appointed room, and nice toiletries. Good breakfast, using quality local ingredients. Although my room was above the pub garden, noise wasn’t an issue, and there is plenty of parking. Thankyou!
Cons: I enjoyed my stay here.

Cons: Couldn’t say there was anything we didn’t like
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, Street is a lovely little spot, quiet and super close to Glastonbury - with the added bonus of an outlet shopping village. The pub areas at Mullions are very characterful, and there is plenty of charm, as well as off-street parking. Breakfast was good, and the room was nice and clean. Staff were friendly.
Cons: Decor in the room and en-suite was a little dated, could do with a revamp.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent - I had the full English every morning and it came with fried potato and not those horrible hash browns out of a packet. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable - I was even given a fan to keep me cool in the hot weather with was great. The only slight downside was that the walls are thin and you could hear the people moving about next door
Cons: Thicker walls
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good value . Visit family
Cons: No headboard, banged my head on the wall a few times! Will go back if the price is right.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and welcoming staff. Beautiful room, more than we expected. Food fantastic, really quick service. We are looking forward to booking again and visiting more of the area.
Cons: Not a great deal of choice with yoghurt, fresh fruit etc at breakfast. Apart from that everything perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming property but the staff were brilliant and that made the stay fab
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The White Hart is quirky with eclectic furniture and unusual. Staff were totally on the ball and seemed genuinely keen to help. I found it a really friendly welcoming place and liked it's originality - nicer than a chain. Bed was comfortable and room was right temperature, with directions how to change it if required. I enjoyed a light evening meal and breakfast, which were all well cooked, presented and promptly created - full marks. Good number of electrical points. Location close to where I was working worked well and would love to return in daylight with time to spare to explore the charming village. Very intrigued with the local history information in the room - good info pack.
Cons: Design of my room - think it may have been designed by a man or a tall woman! Bath very deep so a little difficult to get in and out - perhaps a step would be helpful as a deep bath is nice? Bathroom mirror excellent as it swivelled out but impossible for me to see in to do my makeup as it was too high up on the wall! In the bedroom nice mirror on wall to do my hair but it's located near table with tea making apparatus. In the pub, I found some bench seats too narrow to be comfortable, so moved table - heard another family group mention the same issue at breakfast. Sometimes this is style over substance - comfort and practicality is important!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: the room and the location. the breakfast that we ordered was excellent. a good bathroom.
Cons: it was very hot and only one window opened. Breakfast buffet choice wasn't as good as when we stayed at the Grosvenor Arms. There was a very long wait for our dinner in the evening.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I only used the room as a night stop facility so I only expereince the room. Although well appointed it would be hard to say that it really justified the price. The one staff member who checked me in was clearly professional.
Cons: The room was noisy. The bar had closed at 10pm and yet i was still unable to get off to sleep till after 11 due to the noise of the bar staff and kitchen clearing up for the night.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely house, beautiful grounds, room was a bit small. Nice place but in my opinion a little over priced.
4.5 Okay
Cons: Sauces and jams on the tables were out of date, the show in the room lacked pressure, the tv in the room was 15" screen so from the bed was difficult so concentrate on. Not sure how it is a 4 star AA awarded, it is a bit lacking in today's market.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house and area. Hosts were really polite and welcoming.

Pros: Good welcome Huge room and bathroom with bath Good breakfast and dinner. Great staff. Great shopping just across the road - outlet centre
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast provided a good variety of options and attentive service.
Cons: The car park was operated by ParkingEye and although registration details were provided at reception we still received a demand for £100 parking charge. This was reduced to £20 before we gave up. Not impressive for "free parking".
