Friendly staff, quiet rooms, clean, central valey took time
Very nice staff Clean Quiet convenient to many locations have to pay a lot for parking have to pay for wifi
service was good I hate to rate the overall experience based on this, but it sticks in my mind. When taking a shower i noticed there was an unpleasant oder coming from somewhere, I quickly realized it was coming from the shower curtain .. I quickly finished and got out of there .. i felt like the smell stuck with me for a few hours after ... yuk!
room is nice The hotel had a bulldozer moving snow from midnight to at least 2am. Absolutely no regard for hotel guests/
Dogs barking at night
Excellent Coustmer service and high quality room!
They charge for internet, but if you go to Congress St Park, which is adjacent, they have free wi-fi.
Very comfort and great view if you booked a higher floor room. I preferred the waterfront location, but Westin also stays in a very good location as many fine restaurants are in this area.
Good downtown location and the beds were super comfy. We had a nice room. This is probably one of the better values in Portland as there are not a lot of hotels in the city. of all the hotels I've stayed in this was one of them. No free wifi which is ridiculous considering the cost of a room.
Breakfast option in morning was minimal and expensive.
Lovely room and common areas. Interesting city. Paying for parking wasn't so great.
I loved the staff, they where friendly and very helpful in giving me directions around town and what cool things to check out. I was not expecting the hotel to have a shuttle service that took me wherever I wanted to go downtown, and the driver was super friendly. My room was incredible, well lit, well decorated with a bag of popcorn waiting for me. I all around enjoyed my stay. Breakfast was good. I paid extra for the "seaside" suite - this does not mean it is a view of the ocean. It means it's on the seaside but that your view will be of a fish manufacturing plant. I was a little disappointed that I spent an extra $30 to stare are a fishery.
Great value, wonderful room (spacious, modern) we will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Portland!
Very comfortable bed and large rooms. Near a brewery that gave off odors that were not that pleasant.
I wanted to catch the ferry to the islands, so it was a great location! Parking was very convenient. and downtown area and shopping was a few steps away. I came up a week earlier that my original reservation, and the staff was able to accomodate me. They were very friendly and professional. What was not to like!
Location is close to harbor yet far enough away to avoid all the noise from Commercial Street. Lots of good restaurants/bars within walking distance such as Fore Street, Duckfat, Street and Company, Vena's, Gritty's and more. Free breakfast. Parking isn't free - $15 per night.
Big spacious clean room in an excellent location. Close to all the dining, drinking, shopping in Old Port. There was some construction going on on the floor, rooms being redone, the halls were dusty and smelled from this work, also the wireless connection was very iffy.
Great amenities, great location, excellent staff.
Location. Poor value. Super expensive for what you get. I was stuck in a smoking room because Kayak's system (or the booking one - whatever) doesn't make it obvious that the room is smoking. There shod be a huge notice that the room being booked is a smoking room. Weird smells throughout... Room "mostly" clean. Internet didn't work and when I reported it I was given a support number to call. Sitting on the phone for an hour (which didn't solve the problem) was a big waste of my time. I stayed at the Westin after this place and it was night and day. They obviously train there staff at the Westin because from checkin to cleaning people they were helpful, courteous, and friendly. Everything about the Holiday Inn lacked, the Westin excelled at . Stay there instead.
Room was very clean and was ready early. The restaurant wasn't very good and their wait staff was horrible.
It was a big disappointment. The hotel was very dated, and the front desk staff was cold/unfriendly. This hotel should have cost below $100. Instead, we paid approx $375.
It was clean, quiet and had a great view of the bay. The staff was professional ,friendly and helpful. Loved the snacks at the front desk. Was not happy at how much the room price was for the weekend we were there. Looked like a great deal until I put in my date of arrival. We went after Columbus day to avoid the crowds and high prices. No crowds but hotel price was high.
There were no frills but my overnight stay was comfortable and refreshing. location right between Old Port and the Arts District was great. No snack machines, just soda machines
Location is ok, on the edge of easy walking distance to the Old Port area. For the price would have expected bigger, nicer rooms. It was just "ok", not a great value for the price paid.
Great location. Downtown Portland is very nice Great staff Free coffee Bed/Pillows weren't the best, but did the job
Best all around hotel stay in the area
Good location. Spacious room. Great view. The window in our room needed replacing, could have been an even better view. Good TV, comfortable bed with choices of pillows. We didn't eat at restaurant in hotel since it did not get good reviews.
The decor was interesting. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Conveniently located in the Old Port. A bit pricey.
Staff was attentive Clean and Comfortable Awesome location - near the action, but not in the action Easy to get in and out of from Highway Restaurant Looked Great - although we didn't have a chance to eat there. TV volume was terrible - even turned up half way was still quite
Very nice and new accommodation. Staff well trained and extremely friendly. Had one of the best hotel breakfast that I have ever experienced. Location is good.
The hotel was gorgeous! The perfect mix of eclectic and high end. The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating. The entire hotel was spotless and the rooms were beautiful. Amazing bathrooms and a bed like a cloud. I will recommend to any friends looking to stay in Portland!
Everything exceeded my expectations. It was great.
Amazing staff - they really worked to make sure our stay was special! Can't think of a thing.
Hotel was clean, convenient to downtown, plenty of parking Front desk was very uninterested-did not even make eye contact upon check in, and restaurant is actually the worst I've ever had in a hotel. This place has potential but needs a little love.
Good food, comfi bed Bathroom wasn't clean
The location near the train station made this hotel convenient.. Staff was friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was solid. Hotel was full of guests, it seems the staff was having a bit of hard time keep up with day to day upkeep. The hallways needed a vacuuming for instance.
the friendly staff The mold on the bathroom ceiling and walls.
People at the front desk and in housekeeping were very friendly, helpful and accommodating I had a late check out bc of a race I ran that morning. So I was taking a nap before I left with the do not disturb sign hung on the door. Housekeeping did knock and awoke me even though I was notified that housekeeping was aware of my checkinv out late. Besides that everything was great!
clean, comfortable, close to where I needed to be. Food was very good.
Location was great, right off I-295, and minutes from where I wanted to be in the morning. Room was clean. It has a restaurant inside which was convenient. Food (bowl of soup) was OK. Water temperature in shower was extremely hot; I nearly scalded my back when going to turn off water. Also, there were (unused?) hand towels in tub. Did they just fall, or were they left by previous guest?
Near baseball, concert venues and easy drive to town. Nice rooms. Nice staff. Hot tub Aweful.
Friendly staff Needs some updating
The hotel was clean the staff seemed friendly enough. They had coffee, tea and cookies in the entrance which was nice. I really liked the size of the room and that it had a mini refrigerator which was extremely helpful for me. The hot water for the shower in my room was not working however I was only there for a half marathon so I didn't bother calling for help at the front desk since I was about to checkout and run a long distance. I'm sure they would have helped if I called about the issue
The beds No TV because of snow
Staff was so very helpful -- allowing us to return our rental car to the airport the night before our flight and then they picked us up there, and they ordered a cab for us early in the morning to get to the airport; they directed us to pick up some breakfast items that were getting ready to be put out even though it was an hour before the official breakfast start time The place was so clean and the rooms lovely, quite the contrast to a motel we had stayed at the previous two nights
The rate was affordable, which was nice since we just needed a place to stay after getting into the Portland airport. Our flight arrived at 12AM, so it was convenient to not have to drive far afterwards. Also, the free continental breakfast in the morning was a definite plus! The rooms were not clean. There was rust all over the bathroom, and the shower was stained with mildew. Also, the hotel is in a weird part of town, and we didn't feel safe walking to and from the car to get our luggage at night.
For an overnight near the airport with our adult daughter before her morning flight out, we looked for a suite, since her parents both snore. The second bed was a fold-out couch two feet from the first. Since we'd booked through Kayak, no .negotiation with the hotel was possible.
Convenience. My son and I attended a Maine Red Claws basketball game. The hotel was very convenient to the stadium and I envision the same for a Sea Dogs game. Room was basic but decent size. Nothing major. Outside, hallways and lobby were a bit plain and drab.
This hotel has a great location...close to the airport, close to the downtown waterfront, and easy to get around. It is definitely on the low-end of prices for the area and there was nothing bad about the area around the hotel. The complimentary breakfast was nice, nothing too fancy, but worked out great for a quick bite before meetings. The rooms are pretty dated. They have tried to dress them up with new bedding, but the rooms smell terribly of smoke, even though they are 100% non-smoking. The first room I got was so bad with a smoke smell, that I asked to be moved, which they accomodated. However, the second room was just as bad as the first, maybe even worse. My business colleague said the exact same thing about his room, so I am guessing that most rooms smell like smoke.
This place was supposed to be pet friendly, but because I was tired and gave the my home number and my friend's cell phone died they could not reach us because the dogs were barking and called the animal control officer to take our three dogs away. Then they kicked us out, forcing us to go next door to the Motel 6, so that we could retrieve our pets in the morning. he people at the shelter were really nice and said they had never seen anything like this before. before we left the woman at the desk said we did not give them a pet deposit, but they had my credit card and could have charged that. Altogether, badly handled and not needed. The dogs tried to get away from the strangers and were captured with nooses. So when I got them the next day they were very freaked out and exhausted. Being tossed out of a hotel late at night and having to find another place because the dogs barked.
Very good value for the money. Lots of people there for different reasons but all were accommodated. Nothing.
The pool and staff were excellent. It would be nice if they included breadfast in the cost.
Cost effective Run down, weird layout, location was sketchy
The location was good for my purposes. I only had time to shower and sleep, so I can't speak to any other facilities. $185.80 for a basic room at a basic hotel is way too much. Several days later I paid about $10 more for a 5-star hotel on the Boston waterfront.
utilitarian, people were friendly could be cleaner
The location was conveniently located right off the highway. After making the front desk aware of the bed conditions the sheets were changed. When we arrived to our room there were evident stains on the bed sheets and upon further inspection there was a fair amount of soap scum and dirt on the shower floor. After making the front desk aware of the issues with bedding the next day the same thing occurred. I was definitely dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the hotel and would not book there in the future.
Coffee and bed was comfortable. Heater in our room was ridiculously noisy.
Good for the price. It was 65 bucks and clean. The bathtub looked old. Place could use an update.
Overzealous cleaning staff that threw away personal items...
A great hotel in a great downtown location. Paid a little bit extra for a higher floor room. Got a room overlooking their generators and parking garage.
My husband and I stayed there for our first night away after having a newborn. Overall the hotel was clean and modern and comfortable. The location is very convenient for multiple choices for dinner and cocktails. Unfortunately we had a room facing Fore street right across the street from the bars. We visited on a weeknight and the noise was still pretty loud coming from the streets at 1 am. I was initially pretty frustrated after being woken up at 1 AM... But then I discovered that there is a fan in the room that can be turned on and it drowns out the noise from the streets. my only recommendation would be adding some sort of white noise option for the guests to drown out the noise from the bars
Nice clean hotel Breakfast was not great.
The room Breakfast Parking fee
The area, the location, and the cleanliness were fantastic. The water pressure was interesting. Don't know if it's common between the hotels, but it was way too soft.
Didn't like the size of the pool, thought it was very small. even my 13 yr old didn't think it was appealing enough to use.
Nice location which, as the heart of the bar scene you should expect some night noise and even though the staff pointed this out at check in it wasn't the outside noise that was bad. We could hear everything that was happening inside the hotel. Toilets, conversations, doors etc. It would appear the hotel was built without any sound insulation. Very disappointed.
It was a nice place. Bathroom could have been a little more clean but the staff was excellent and location was great
Water front view rooms offer beautiful views of Portland's working waterfront. Night time noise can be disruptive to light sleepers
Great location, very easy to walk to shops, restaurants. Higly recommended! Room was clean and comfortable.
The hotel was very clean and the staff we had interaction with were nice and accommodating. Only complaint is with other guests, but that's not the hotel's fault.
The general atmosphere of the hotel Having to ask 3 times for towels for the swimming pool, therefore having to go in the hotel lobby in a bathing suit. No toilet paper in the hotel bathroom on the first floor.
it was clean. the room THEY DID NOT INFORM US THAT THE ELEATOR WAS BEING WORKED ON AT 9am .Not even housekeeping know.
Very clean, new and modern.
Excellent customer service. Comfortable and well appointed rooms.
This was our first trip with an infant so we weren't sure what to expect but the room was perfect for our needs and staff were uber-friendly. We could not believe what a great experience we had for the price. Parking is an additional charge but the valets are super responsive and you can get your car as many times as you need- it was worth it.
Old world feel but up to date amenities. Large room. Didn't feel like a "hotel". Loved it. A little away from the harbor and restaurants. Walk, cab,Uber solves that issue.
Very sweet and quaint. Some of the accommodations you share a bathroom, but you save money when you chose one of those rooms. Very clean and comfortable. Staff was excellent!
Clean, friendly, not too far from town External bathrooms won't be to everyone's liking , wasn't a big deal for me
Half the price of other options in old port, friendly staff and clean rooms. Very European set up, small rooms detached bathroom, but nice enough facilities. Interesting old building.
Clean, comfortable room-beautifully decorated! Location wasn't the best but that was a minor setback.
Warm decor , free and convenient parking
Beautiful quaint little inn No elevators: not an issue for me, but maybe for others.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Inn itself was quaint and charming. Location was a plus.
The friendly and helpful staff, and the ambience. And the price. I agree with a previous reviewer that the bed was not as comfortable as it could be - a little stiff with hard pillows.
Employees are super super nice and kind. Comfortable bed. 200% worth money
The room service staff and valet were super friendly and extremely helpful. Other than that, it was a horrible experience...not a bit relaxing! I work in the hospitality industry, so I know what great service is. When I got there, the TV wasn't even plugged in...then I went out with some friends, came back to a dark room, and when I tried to turn on the lamps on the side tables, I found that neither of them were plugged in. It was as if the room hadn't been used in months! When I called the front desk to complain, the woman at the front desk blew it off like it was no big deal! I ordered room service at 8:30 in the morning (which was great) and then put the do not disturb sign on the door. Well evidently it was irrelevant...I had fallen back asleep after I ate my breakfast, then at 10:30 I got a call from housekeeping seeing if I was still there...she didn't even apologize for waking me up, but at 11 I got a knock on my door from housekeeping! Check out was at 12, and I felt very rushed! For the money I spent, it was a horrible experience! I will never go back, and I will spread the word about my awful experience.
All of the staff - from valets to room service, desk clerks to lounge staff, housekeeping to spa staff - were friendly, knowledgeable, professional
I liked the historical nature of the building, and the architectural details. I found the hotel to be big on comfort, cleanliness, and friendly and helpful staff. Loved the complimentary coffee delivered to your room in the morning, much nicer than having to make substandard coffee in the room. The Mill St. restaurant on the premises has wonderful food and a lovely ambience. I didn't take advantage of any of the spa offerings, so I can't comment on those. It would be helpful for rooms to have a small fridge. The lighting in my room was not great for reading, but the huge windows let in a lot of natural light. The internet was painfully slow. I didn't understand the need for the valet parking, since the lot was just across the street, and I would have happily parked on my own and walked over. But it was inexpensive, $12, so this is not really a complaint, just an observation.
Perfect location in downtown Portland - a very short walk to the wharf and local restaurants/pubs A bit pricy, but it's in line with other hotels in the area.
Great location. Walking distance to the old port and lots of restaurants and bars. A great stay.
Everyone at the hotel was so nice and went above and beyond to be helpful. The location is perfect right in the center of the city. There are so many great restaurants just around the corner. I also really enjoyed the spa at the hotel. The facilities are very relaxing and everyone that works there can help you figure out exactly what you need. We had a great stay and will definitely be coming back.
location would have enjoyed a fridge and coffee maker in room
Great location. The spa was good. Our room was on the first floor and it sounded as though every toilet in the building was directly above us.
I loved the location and the hotel/room was very clean. There was a continuous noise above the bed. It sounded like a pipe clanging. Thank goodness for the sound machine feature on the alarm clock. Also, the bed was very firm with starchy sheets. The terry cloth robe had a large rip in it as well.
I am a female and was travelling alone to see my son. I got my room and from then on, felt comfortable, secure, close to conveniences and within walking distance to great shops, restaurants and more. I was also given the gift of a spa treatment while there, and that experience was heavenly! The dining room was decorated for Christmas and was absolutely lovely! I was also quite comfortable eating alone here, with a seat by a warming fire. I will be returning to Portland shortly, and would like my same room and experience. Loved it.
tub in room 525 did not drain.
I liked that the hotel was pet friendly and had a reception in the evening. The location was convenient to bother the jet port and downtown Portland. The hotel did not have a requested item set up in the room upon arrival. The shower had hair on the walls and there were people smoking underneath our window all night, which came directly into the room through a vent. It was very slippery out and all of the walkways and sidewalks remained untreated, making it very unsafe for both guests and pets. Management was not particularly responsive to any of these concerns.
It is always comfortable. Staff is outstanding. Food is good. Omelets at complimentary breakfast are excellent. Convenient location.
The service of the gentleman when I arrived at midnight exhausted from a long trip overseas was excelllent. He picked me up at the airport and made sure I got to my room safely. Thank you
The open large lobby/rooms, the happy hour, of course the breakfast! We have just assumed your hotel is our destination from now on. We've been staying there when we come up from Cape Cod to visit w/our Grandaughters! They have a ball in the pool and just love visiting w/us at The Hotel!
Friendly staff. Downtown.
Absolutely wonderful staff from the valet parking to the front desk to the housekeeping staff. Professional yet friendly.
Other than the fire alarm issue the stay was very comfortable. We were there for a medical reason. Went to bed early but a homeless person was able to get to the fire alarm and pull it. We had to evacuate & couldn't get back to sleep. That issue needs to be addressed so it doesn't happen again.
I enjoyed the location and the friendness of staff. I also liked the room, since it was large, well decorated and with a nice view to the harbour.
good location, efficient valet parking, comfortable rooms, stayed with teenage children in adjacent room which worked well.
This hotel offered everything you would expect from the Hilton name. It was a little more expensive than other hotels in the area, but was not overpriced and worth that bit extra.
Room, staff, breskfast. Proximity to Standard Bakery Lication. Valet parking is good but expensive
Outstanding service from their front desk staff.
My 9 year old son and I went for two nights and had a great time. We loved the room it was clean and comfortable. We spent many hours in the pool which was also clean and just a neat room. We ordered room service for dinner both nights and the food was delicious. We had breakfast in the restaurant in the morning and it was also perfect. Overall we would definitely return to this hotel or others in the chain!
Location, cleanliness, pool, Bartender was REALLY slow, and when I asked the front desk for a re-print of my receipt from dinner the night before, she told me she couldn't do it, and didn't offer to figure it out. She did tell me to have a nice day...
Most everything. Fun to have Starbucks right there and the Mall across the street. Toilet clogged before retiring and we were too tired to call the front desk. It made the morning unpleasant to have a clogged toilet. I'm sure they would have fixed it right away but we were only there for the night and checked out early. That's our only complaint.
Overall the room was great. It was very clean and the staff was nice. The walls however are very thin and we could hear our neighbors that kept us up through the night.
The hotel is perfectly located, right in the old port near everything you could want. It was great to be able to valet the car (for one of the cheaper valet rates in the city) and just walk everywhere. The complementary breakfast each morning was good, nothing exceptional but enough to get us going. The staff were great and helpful with recommendations and making us comfortable. The room was comfortable and the bed was great-however I would suggest bringing your own pillow if you like a firmer pillow the pillows here are very, very soft-not a complaint but not my preference. Overall we enjoyed our stay. However, on our first night we left the room for dinner and when we arrived back at the room it smelt like pot. Not a faint smell but very strong and over powering and, frankly, incredibly off putting smell. I went to the front desk and the night desk man seemed aware of the issue and the solution was for someone to come up to my room with a bottle of febreeze. For a non-smoking floor/hotel I was underwhelmed by this fix. We only had this issue once but it was enough. Overall though i would stay here again simply due to the location and the ease of getting around.
Generally speaking, everything was great. The room was modern and comfortable. Staff was friendly. When we were attempting to check in, the front desk was having an issue with a rather unpleasant and annoying group of young women who were giving them quite a hard time. I felt badly that they had to deal with this issue. However, at one point they had all three of the front desk people dealing with this issue and nobody assisting the queue of people who were waiting for assistance. It would have been nice if one of those people were prioritizing the guests who were waiting in line. We were tired from a long drive and did not appreciate having to wait 20 minutes just to get our room assignment and key. Also, the price was incredibly high, and it seemed crazy to me that the parking was not included in the room cost.
They over booked and was not able to give me the room even though I booked and had a confirmation number.... I am extremely flustered and disappointed with the services.
Quiet Over use of fabrreze in room, price, view, not a $200+ non refundable value. Forced to valet park in their lot.
Close to town Not best price I could have used my AAA and got better rate . No mini bar difficult using internet
Rooms were very pleasant and a good size. Breakfast was excellent. Location was excellent and the hotel was good value for money.
Value, clean room, friendly service, you can walk to downtown amenities, affordable parking, breakfast was good for hotel food. Strong propane smell in 2nd floor hallway during our entire stay. The mattress was on the soft side.
Clean, inviting place overall. Comfortable beds and pillows. Good size room and bathroom. Nice breakfast in the morning. Really nice and helpful staff. Felt very welcome. I liked the free apples too. I liked everything.
Overall experience was enjoyable. We only stayed one night due to other travel plans, but would definitely recommend this hotel to others and would stay there again.
The bathroom door in 346 does not close easily.
The very close location to the airport. Good food and lobby area. Easy access to the business center. No complaints.
Bed was hard. Pillows too soft
Small and friendly, close to airport and Mall.
The front desk staff was was nice. The room smelled and it can be cleaner. The check out is at 11:00 am instead 12:00.
Staff was nice
The beds and room were clean. Bathroom was mostly clean-passed for me and I'm pretty picky. Manager fixed the extra charges that the man who didn't know anything at the front desk charged me incorrectly. Had to check in very late, the overnight man at the front desk said he didn't normally work the desk. Had me fill out incorrect paperwork and charged my card, multiple times even though I used a third-party site and already paid. When I went in the morning to square it away, another man told me that I still owe the hotel money...very confused, a woman who I'm assuming was the manager, said no you already paid and it looks like the overnight man charged you extra. Apologized greatly and fixed everything. Thankful for her because it seemed no-one else knew anything.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. House keeping did a good job cleaning room while we were out. Room had a microwave and refrigerator. This room was $50 more than the Ramada Inn across the street which was booked. The Ramada has a nicer bar/restaurant. We ordered room service and were made to feel like we completely inconvenienced them. The overall layout of the hotel is ridiculous. You either have to cut across the outside court yard or drive to the lobby section of hotel. Nothing is connected. The lobby has the fireplace, bar, restaurant, pool, and gym so this layout is totally a nuisance!
I booked this hotel because my family is looking for a home in Portland. So on this trip I had our daughter and Grandmother in tow. I had originally booked a room for just my husband and I. With the two additions in mind, I called to see if we could upgrade to a suite. The person said no problem, told me how much extra, and I said ok. When we showed up, I signed the paper work for the increased rate, got to the room... however it was an original double queen, not the suite. Went back to the desk. FOURTY minutes later, the person working on it realized there were in fact no suites left and that we had to have two adjoining rooms. Ok. The next day when I went to check out, I was charged the enhanced suite price TWICE. So not a single room once, or a single room even twice (for the two adjoining), but was being charged for two suites. Now THIRTY minutes later, the cost was corrected. Coming to a hotel really shouldn't be this much hassle, most especially when this hotel is surrounded by other options.
Cozy and charming in the main building. Good food from the onsite restaurant. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Good value for the money. Indoor pool is pretty small.
For the price that we paid, we could have stayed in a luxurious hotel. Very disappointed.
Location was convenient to places to eat and shop, and right off Rt. 95. Easy to find. The continental breakfast was varied and good. The dining room was comfortable. The rooms were definitely dated, and the bathroom was caulked poorly around the toilet and tub. Our room had a moldy smell, and previous guests had smoked in it, even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Someone had returned at 4am from a night of partying, and woke us up.
Missing microwave in rooms
very helpful front-office staff, especially Glenn Sanokklis spacious, comfortable room pleasant landscaping and surprisingly large pool no real complaints at all
I liked how friendly the staff was and accommodating! The hotel was very clean. Complimentary breakfast wasent bad either! The pools were nice indoor and outdoor! The beds in our room were not as comfortable as i preferred and some of the hotel hallways were masked with stale cigarette smell
The location for what out plans were was good. House keeping never made the beds or cleaned the floors.
Location was ok The place was dirty and cheap! The ground felt like it had never been touched with a broom. They don't provide shampoo or anything. The elevator was the only way around the hotel and it felt as if it was going to break down.
The front desk staff were friendly and very willing to help in any way they could. The top sheets/blanket was not washed and it was wrinkled. The bed skirt had stains on it. The door of the first room that we got before we switched had blood on it. There were pubic hairs still left in the bathtub. The women who cleaned the rooms would yell at each other in the halls for the majority of the day.
Price was lowest in area. Wife hated two things: bathroom light couldn't be turned on without fan noise (bad), and quality of room light was harsh, like being in a bus station waiting room. I was frustrated with wi-fi: first, having to pay, and, second, only being able to use one device per paid-for code. Even then, it wasn't consistent, would drop out. We moved to another hotel for our second night before catching our plane.
Value. Only hotel near Portland that an average person can afford. The room decor was non existent. Newish make over was modern but the walls lacked any color or design. Paintings/pictures not needed but something to break up the monotony.
Not much! Bathroom was dirty, no coffee maker, hair dryer, lotion, shampoo or soap dish!
Close to portland for the price. Staff was fantastic. Pretty minimalistic, but for the price you know that. Everything was clean. No bed Cots. Only 2 pillows for a queen/kind bed.
Motel 6 has the bare minimum, and sometimes not even that. I forgot my shampoo and saw that they did not have any in the tub. When I called the front desk, the staff politely told me that they do not carry shampoo even for purchase. They suggested the vending machine which did not have shampoo either. There really wasn't a convenient 24 hour store nearby either. That, to me, should be part of the basics of a motel. I didn't mind the cigarette burns on my comforter, but I think shampoo for purchase should be available if not complementary. Just sayin'
Nothing. It was very stark. Lots of sketchy looking people lurking around. We did not stay the night, we booked a room at the days inn. Defiantly not a place to take a family.
Nothing The staff was rude and very unhelpful. They kicked us out in the cold at 2am because we had one extra person show up. Fuck that place.
