The manager was very freindly. The room was a good value for the money. Breakfast had anice variety of items to choose from and the warm rolls were excellent.
Good location, clean air, clean room, good staff, interesting Auto museum (in Schramberg)
very nice and friendly
The hotel is in a fantastic location in a very pretty village. The rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfast was very good. We ate at the restaurant both nights and found it to serve good hearty meals. The hotel seems to be a little "tired", and there was mess in the public areas downstairs. Little things I know, but they do leave an impression.
Wery friendly staff, Wery good location, Historick house. Excellent sercices. Good breakfast.
the hospitality of the hosts was exceptional. They could not do enough for us and made us feel extremely welcome. The friendly atmosphere was conducive to a most pleasant stay of 3 nights.
Delicious food, sparkling clean and comfortable room, the warm welcome from the owners, beautiful location. Had two delicious meals cooked by one of the owners, who is an excellent chef. We had a wonderful stay at Zur alten Brucke and highly recommend it if you are in Shiltach.
The staff was very nice. No problem of communication (The hostess speaks english fluently and is very friendly). Schiltach is a beautifull village.
This is the second time myself, my husband and a friend have stayed at Landhaus Lauble and we absolutely love it. We had a wonderful room with a balcony which was spotlessly clean, the food was simply amazing, the only problem being what delicious dish to pick off the extensive menu. This is a family run hotel in an absolutely stunning area and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I can't wait to go back!!! I booked a double room for myself and my husband and a room for a friend and both rooms were really lovely.
Wonderful location & beautiful hotel building. Felt very welcome, service was good
Had a great stay, staff & location excellent, rooms very comfy!!
Everything. The hotel is easy walking distance from either rail stations (Schiltach or Schiltach Mitte) and close to the rest of Schiltach's attractions. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and the restaurant is very nice. Free wireless internet is good also.
Nice little town Small room half modern made to look old and poorly at that. The maid knocked on our door at 10:00 saying it was time to check out. I told her I had rarely seen hotels with a checkout that early and would need another 30 minutes until my wife was ready. She said no then stood in the hallway the rest of the time and watched me carry down the luggage. The hotel was practically empty and there was no reason for this. Lastly there are only 4 parking spaces which not only hotel guests but people who just come to look at the town can use. There other parking area is a long walk away. I stayed at many great hotels in Germany. This was not one
This was a beautiful old inn in a picturesque town. Staff was friendly although they didn't speak English. Rooms were very clean and bottles of water were no charge. Breakfast was good but quite different than what you'd find in North America. Located steps from everywhere in town and an absolute beautiful setting. We would stay there again. The staff were cleaning the rooms way too early in the mornings. Impossible to sleep in past 8am because vacuums were going, doors slamming and if you're room is quiet, they will even enter while you're still there, although they apologize and leave right away.
Friendly atmosphere, excellent location
beautiful scenery, very restful and good location
Perfect location on the beautiful town square. Old building traditionally furnished to resemble middle age living (at least my room), very nice romantic atmosphere, attention to detail. Clean. Nice, bright and spacious breakfast room viewing onto square. Friendly staff. Mattress could be better.
Fabulous value at £45 for two with breakfast and evening food is just superb quality and value from around £10 a head. Hotel is right in the villages's glorious half-timbered Market Place. Could not fault it
The staff were very friendly, the hotel was in an excellent location and the food was very good.
Owners and staff friendly and responsive. Excellent restaurant.
The pesonnel was nice. Rooms were clean. Very warm welcoming. Feeling of being almost at home despite we were 13, incl. 3 babies. Very good cook. We definitly look forward to come back.
Welcome , attitude of staff and food. not a thing.
the bathroom is big and comfortable
Nice and quiet area, friendly stuff, clean rooms. The restaurant in the hotel is grate. very recomended. lack of elivator
Very friendly family owners and staff. Generous breakfasts. Very good evening cuisine. Good location for touring central Black Forest by car. Quiet village location. Everything was very good indeed!
Friendliness of staff
When booking hotel accommodation, our preference is for a smaller hotel preferably with family management. This guesthouse has been in family for many generations and the owners of were exceptionally welcoming and the accommodation left nothing to be desired. Meals were excellent and good value. Nothing
Everything was perfect :-) Nice & friendly staff, perfect food for a nice price :-)
very clean and reasonably new room. quiet maybe a little more isolated than we expected. the town had no where to go for dinner!
This is a fabulous hotel in every respect. My wife and I have travelled extensively in Europe (we lived in Germany for 10 years). Everything about this hotel was meticulously cared for, the staff was extraordinarily helpful, all amenities one could ask for in a country hotel in the Black Forest were there and the food was perfection. We were so impressed after our two-day stay that we returned for an additional night and evening meal. The food met the most demanding gourmand standards, the beverage list was extensive (wine, beer etc) and the service was impeccable. We give this hotel the highest possible rating. Absolutely nothing!!! We were in Europe for 27 days this trip and the Land-gut Hotel Hohengasthof Adler was the best place we stayed and had the best food. That speaks reams for the quality of this place.
We were very impressed by the comfort and cleanliness of the hotel and all the staff were wonderful. Food was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and at home. Added to this and their helpful advice about the area made our time with them perfect. No
Everything from the lovely comfortable room, the helpful staff, beautiful views and my own secure garage for my motorbike.
Hotel stuffs are friendly and very friendly to the children. Double room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a lot of foods and was very delicious.
The best feature of this hotel has to be the family that owns it. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The restaurant, which seems to attract lots of locals, serves delicious food in a homely, and traditional, atmosphere. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, and in a quiet setting, which we prefer. None
We had a lousy start due to autobahn trouble and the weather turning bad but after the warm and friendly welcome, a meal from the excellent kitchen and a taste from the delicious schnapps everything was A-OK again and the stress from the journey very soon forgotten. Room, bed, breakfast, service: Ausgezeichnet! On our next holiday in the Schwarzwald there is simply no need to go elsewhere!
The room was excellent large and very nicely furnished. The breakfast was just as stated in reviews - one of the best we have ever had. There was nothing that we didn't like but just a warning - if you are arriving on the family's day off (Monday in our case) you will need to collect you room key from the restaurant three doors down and book a table while you are there as the food was very good.
The hotel was easy to get to. The hotel room was spacious and very clean The beds were very hard. This definitely should not be rated a four star hotel. There was no information about things to do in the area. Very disappointing.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant, and it was some of the best food during our time in Germany. The room was cute and comfortable set in gorgeous mountain surroundings.
The owners and staff were very friendly. Everything was first class indeed.
The location was great and peaceful. The food was absolutely fantastic. It was worth the trip in and of itself.
The location of the this hotel was 7K up a mountain, absolutely beautiful! The dining experience was wonderful, the food was delicious. The bed was just not comfortable...
A very well appointed hotel with excellent facilites, very much off the beaten track - by 7 km! Food is good and there was a good selection on the wine list. It would I am sure be an great centre for a walking or adventure sports holiday.
the evening meal was nice and the location was fab with great views on arrival we were met by the family dog which growled at us until called off. the hotel was run down on the outside, the reception and bar area were ok. the dinning room floor was sticky and there was cobwebs, indicating a lack of cleaning. our room was tired and the wallpaper was peeling, the towels were frayed and worn out. the breakfast was poor, on the first morning we arrived for breakfast at 8.30am to find very little left and nothing was done to replenish it. the owners small child was sat on some steps in the dinning room eating her breakfast, she then started crying which was quite unpleasant, this was not a romantic break. the hotel was cold, all radiators on frost.
Highly recommend this castle hotel. The staff was exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful, the dinner was delicious with large quantities and variety of selection, the view was exceptional, the room was large and well appointed. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.
The views were amazing. Nice large rooms, large bathrooms. Walking paths all around - you could spend days just exploring! Nice breakfast. Since it is an old building, you tend to hear through the walls easier. Spot lights on the hotel stay on until midnight, lighting up the rooms on that side - the curtains are not black out and the rooms stay lit up.
The staff was great and spoke English. The price was high.
The location was centrally located in a quiet village in the middle of the southern Black Forest region and close to everything we wanted to get to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The included european-style breakfast buffet had a nice assortment of food. The dinner menu was reasonably priced and the food was very good. Service in the dinning room was top-notch. Several of the reviews of this hotel mentioned the loud church bell close to the hotel. They were accurate about the 6:00am start of the ringing. However, we didn't mind the wake-up because we wanted to get moving early in the morning. If you like to sleep in, the bell might be a problem.
easy to find, good location
very friendly and attentive staff provided excellent personal service, very good value for money in nice area. next to church with very loud bells at 6am! but you do get used to it.
Close to Triberg, very comfortable bedding, and an excellent breakfast was included.
Very clean and nice. extremely good value for money. Staff very helpful.
I liked the Family rooms we had.
Great location for exploring the black forest. Hotel hostess was very helpful and accommodating to our needs. We ended up at thier small apartment property a few minutes from the main hotel which was great for our family of five. Good breakfast too!
food very good, in an excellent area & very friendly staff
The hotel was very traditional and welcoming. The rooms were exceptionally clean and staff very friendly.
Very nice stuff, clean room, very cosily. bell chime at 6 a.m.
A very well-appointed and comfortable room: hairdryer, TV, CD player, free wi-fi, balcony; friendly staff; excellent breakfast; good parking facilities, all at very reasonable price.
The hotel was in a very quiet, peaceful setting - just perfect after a long plane ride from the US to Germany.
The food was divine!
the hotel was good the food excellent the beds were very uncomfortable and lacking in bedding
Hotel and staff was wonderful! Best place we stayed on 2 week vacation.
The hotel was in a beautiful setting and the food was very good. The service was also good. What a disappointment! The room was so out-dated.Furniture was old, carpet was old and grubby- bathroom was definitely out of date, especially the shower curtain! Our room was off the small reception area-awful! We had to close the bathroom window everytime we went in because it overlooked the terrace. On arrival, we were greeted by the waiter I think. He was pleasant. He asked us if we would like halfboard, yet at dinner time, we were given the a la carte menu- very expensive.Next evening, we had the buffet which was for half board but we were charged slightly more than the half board price. We were charged for coffee and cake but we understood this to be included. The room definitely spoiled it for us. Didn`t find people very friendly.
Pleasant staff, hotel is spotless and food is excellent. Biker friendly hotel that accommodates everything you need. No
Friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff, good food and facilities None
Friendly staff, great food in restaurant (especially the Kaesespaetzle), comfortable and modern facilities.
staff are very helpfull, food is outstanding, the rooms are allways clean the hotel is very clean and tidy. there are no bad points about this hotel
Was there for radmarathon. Early breakfast at 05.30 was not a problem. Very nice, very friendly.. and just 30 seconds from a very rural train station.
The hotel is situated in a nice village in the black forest. It has a lot of good roads for riding in the area also there are a number of other attactions/town in the area worth visiting
