just stayed for the night, room was comfortable we came back one week later for another night, this second time room was not as good and very noisy
My wife needs a wheelchair and facilities for disabled in the bathroom. We short-listed hotels in Belfort on this basis. Unlike some hotels which state they are wheelchair/disabled friendly but are not, this hotel lived up to our expectations and requirements. The en-suite shower room was excellent - one of the best we have experienced. Lovely interior to the hotel. It would have been nice if there had been a restaurant for an evening meal.
Based on earlier reviews and after looking at the website of the hotel, I decided to stay for the night at the Tonneau d' Or. I do not regret this choice: the staff is extremely kind and helpful, the architecture of the main hall is impressive, the rooms are quite OK. I would add two pluses; the presence of an inside parking area where you can leave safely your car and the proximity (5 minutes walk) of the Old Town of Belfort, a pleasant area
no triple room was available so we were given two adjoining rooms, large and very comfortable
Once grand hotel is in process of renovating and upgrading, but did not diminish quality of stay. Best hotel in area. Bed quality needs attention.
It's centrally located with free parking, close to restaurants and the historic old town. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
centally located, beautifully restored hotel...large rooms for European hotel, good value for the money
Good atmosphere at the place
Car park out the back and location of hotel
NIce room, very large for EU standards. Small but good quality breakfast.
The presence of a very close parking. The toilette was too little.
Good location friendly and helpful staff No
Cleanness and design - nice breakfast
CLEAN, CONVENIENCE, KIND NOTHING
The hotel offered all the basic facilities. It was clean and comfortable, with free parking, and offered good value for money.
Easy to find, free internet, clean
nice and modern...but the noice from the train and next room is poorly.. Generally is fine.
The Hotel is in a very convenient location for the town centre. The room was cleaned and tidied to a very good standard each day. Breakfast was a good choice of different things to eat. no
It is a good hotel, but as a new hotel, it is a little difficult to find it with GPS.
Good value, clean accommodation, friendly staff, good breakfast Hotel overlooking old railway goods area
Value for money combined with a good location Rooms were not cleaned or checked during the entire stay and we had to purchase toilet paper as reception was closed and toilet paper had not been replenished.
Reasonable location fro overnight stop overs to break the journey and not too for from the main road in and out of town. An English TV channel to recieve news and weather would be nice and helpful.
Good value for money. The lady at reception when we arrived was most helpful and this made our overnite very enjoyable. Please convey our compliments to the lady in question. The details as to where we come off the motorway and find the hotel was very poor.In effect vwe had to ring the hotel to get directions etc.
use it in case that you really have no enough money
The staff was very nice, I was coming late and they agreed to wait for me, they were helpful. It was cheap compared with other hotels in Belfort. The room was not very clean and it smelled bad. It wasn't very cosy. Although it was the cheapest hotel I found in Belfort, I think it was nos worth its price.
Buffet breakfast excellent
the receptions there are very nice~~~`
all perfect customers have not the ability to choose the room's temperature, it was a litle cool for us
A nice location and a nice relaxing atmosphere in the Restaurant
Frienly staff nicely furnished and decorated good beds and bathroom nice food close to main roads Breakfast was a bit expensive
Good location for food and amenities of Belfort. Easy to find. Quite small for a Novotel, imagine it is very busy when conference is running.
Hotel design and Reception staff was very helpfull. Bar staff to little present. Breakfast staff too much present. Nothing serious however
Check in took very long as receptionist decided to take a long phone call during check in. credit card and cash was stolen from my colleagues room during breakfest.
Hotel accomodation and food Breakfast started at 7AM. Too late for me.
The personnel was very nice and proffessional.Comfortable and clean. we loved the breakfast buffet.
The staff and the restaurant. "Wifi" was nice. One thing I always miss from my culture (U.S.) is full showers that hang from the wall. I realize that this is not common throughout the world. Interesting locks.
Very cosy and special - really a little castle
Truly in a park land setting which is a welcome sight to drive through to the ample parking areavat the backnofvthe hotel. Lovely old house with period furniture very comfortable nice size room with adequate facilities (although the floor in our room creaked a lot!) restaurant with high standard cuisine. Will definitely return. Creaky floor did disturb our sleep.
Lovely furnishings, beautiful chandeliers. Great restaurant with a wonderful chef, good choice of food. Swimming pool was lovely. Thann is a lovely litttle town with an excellent brand new supermarket only 10 minutes (max) away by car. Very convenient for visiting Alsace/Switzerland & Germany The morning we left we had breakfast at 7.30 as breakfast started and there was only one member of staff on duty to attend to reception and the breakfast room.
wellness closed at 8PM - way too early for business people - Hotel charges 10 pp to use wellness - swimming pool was dirty and not accessible
Great restaurant, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful rooms, a little off the beaten track and therefore what i'd call a hidden gem.
Nice building but hotel staff is not friendly When you open your window (there is no airco in the room), it is so noisy that you can't sleep (traffic, trucks + rails ways in front) reduce your enjoy to zero...
Ate in restaurant one night out of five. Fixed. Really good meal and excellent service, in contrast with the rest of the hotel. Menu, at 39 euros was expensive compared with prices in other local restaurants. Had a superior room booked which was a very small room at the rear of the building. Was told that we would have to pay an additional 30 euros per night for a better room. There was a bit of an atmosphere with the Staff - a lot of falling out. The building is really lovely but it is looking a bit tired and dusty inside.
Comfortable room, clearly recently refurbished. Good value for money. Short walk from town centre Immediate locality appeared to be rough to say the least. Two pillows per bed would be nice and a door on the bathroom would have been a bonus. The hinges were in place so I suspect that this was a temporary condition relating to the refurbishment.
I liked very much the attention of the staff of the hotel, specially the lady that worked during the night
It is a nice and clean hotel with plenty of secure parking space. Some distance to the city centre and citadel, but very close to the Univeristy.
Old structure withd a fully renovated need.
Very nice stuff, quite good food. Rooms are clean and quite comfortable. Not so much chose of food for brakfast.
Friendly family-run auberge. Wholesome evening meal. Wonderful location in the Vosges, with cow-bells clanging outside. Nice experience.
Excellent, friendly welcome. Lovely views down the valley towards St Amarin. Superior food in what is obviously a popular restaurant with the locals.
Beautiful location and food was excellent.
The setting, the simplicity, the atmosphere, the personality and charm of the proprietors, the meals, the generosity and warmth Small improvements could be very meaningful - quality of chairs on balcony, lighting in room,
The scenery and hospitality Room and bed were a bit small
Location and the cows comming up the valley for milking each morning and night, cowbells ringing.
The people were very kind. It's a very quiet location.
Unbelievable view of St Amarin..........high in the mountains. Wonderful accomadations. Family run-they really care. Had dinner, one of the best in six weeks. Wi Fi in the public areas easy to use and excellent connection speed. Everyone was wonderful and helpful.
Fantastic views, food was exceptional. Beds were hard.
We liked the welcome feeling given by the owner of the Auberge. The rooms were nice and cosy. The food was excellent.
