The location is amazing even though it’s quite high in the mountains. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The supermarket is just across the street.
Reception open hours are very inconvenient. When you check-in you’ll get only one roll of toilet paper, one garbage bag. If you will ask for more, you won’t get it... and it’s 4* hotel. some rooms are located in a separate building, what makes it inconvenient to go to the swimming pool with the kids (especially winter time).
The location was excellent for our needs, i.e. ski in and ski out with the piste literally outside the door. Very comfortable room - all wood clad and amazing views of the mountains from our balcony. Essentially: superb location, very comfortable, very well heated accommodation and a nice lounge/kitchen dining area in the apartment. My wife enjoyed the free 1 session in the spa that was included in the overall price for the accommodation.
For the money we paid (£1,000+ for the week) I was expecting a larger, nicer pool with a sauna and steam room for all guests to use free of charge, but the pool was rather small and the hot tub was also rather small. To use the sauna and steam room was an extra charge (12 Euro per hour). In other accommodation we have stayed in before (Les Clarines in 2015) the sauna and steam room were free and part of a larger pool complex. We were also not told about the programme of events for MMV members when we checked in, but other guests seemed more aware or were told more explicitly and so we felt we missed out on this side of things. Also, the boot room did not have heated storage and so our ski boots were slightly damp each morning. Not a major thing, but other accommodation we've stayed at in the area had this facility.
Apartment was nice, spacious & pretty comfortable. Location of apartment was pretty good but did need to take a bus to ski school each day. We did find out we could ski back to the main building rather than get the bus back. View of mountains from apartment was nice.
Firstly, the check-in process was downright appalling. We waited for 40 minutes just trying to collect our apartment key. Secondly, We prebooked lift passes for the week for the family and when we tried to use them we were turned away from the lift queue - told they were only valid for the next day! This not only inconvenienced us as we lost 1.5 hours of skiing, but also our 2 children and their ski group who were unable to go up the mountain with their ski schools. MMV only offered a cheap bottle of Champagne by way of compensation. Third, we expected a DVD player in our apartment and despite requesting it three times, we never received it. Compounding these issues, staff weren’t particularly knowledgeable and didn’t especially make you feel that welcome. The swimming pool was dangerously overcrowded so we didn’t use it more than once. Beds were also very hard and uncomfortable.
Bread delivery Ski to door
Pool bottom is coming up and too shallow to swim
The people was always there and took the time to explain the details
The apartment was small compare to expectation. 6 adults cannot stay for a full week. This a new construction but only after 1 year, there is a lot of damages due to some poor thinking and that are not repaired directly, this give a lower image especially as this is not the cheapest place to stay.
