The truck traffic on route 213 was extremely loud (and our room was in the front). Ear plugs are a necessity if you'd like to sleep. For this reason I would never stay here again. The breakfast was inedible. I expect bad food at chain motels but this was the single worst motel breakfast I had ever tried to eat. You have to work hard to serve food that bad.
Pros. Very nice, comfortable bed
Cons. A/c would not get room cold enough for me to sleep in, I like it around 65.
Pros. Location ia grear, just off I-95 about an hour south of Raleigh, NC. Staff was sweet and fairly attentive, but very young. Disn't feel like there was appropriate staffing level and did not feel like management was present for problem solving.
Cons. The facilities were old and, although the lobby was remodeled, the incongruity between the lobby and the rest of the hotel was disconcerting. The side exit door was damaged, which made me feel insecure.

Cons. Internet did not work the night we checked in. When I called front desk, she just gave me a 800 number to call. The 800 number person opened the gateway to temporarily fix the problem. While on the internet doing my master's homework, I lost connection again. The internet never came back. The next morning, at 8am, I talked to the desk. She said she would talk to the manager and that someone would call me right back. Around 3pm, I received a call asking if I was using Apple products to access the internet. When I said yes, she said they were having internet trouble with Apple products. I said that I needed to move my hotel since Internet was a requirement. They said they would let me cancel my room so I could move. When I called Booking.com to try to get another hotel with Internet for Apple products, the agent called Country Inn &Suites by Carlson, Lumberton, NC to verify what really was going on. Zoe at the front desk did confirm they were aware and were working on the issue with their IT team. So, I booked a new room and when I came back to Country Inn & Suites to check out, the front desk person said they did not have problems with the internet. I could not take a chance as I needed to complete my homework on a timely basis. Also, the breakfast area had limited seating - no clean seats available for breakfast.
