I arrived after 10pm, and the lobby was closed. The gentleman at the window told me I could not come in after lobby hours. I had to stand outside in the rain while he fumbled through paperwork and couldn't find my reservation. I felt like a second class citizen. It was cheap, but next time I'm in the area I'll use a hotel that's not going to kick me out of the lobby.
Very close to where we needed to be. Convenient location. Staff was very courteous. The room didn't have a refrigerator, microwave or a working coffee machine. Staff was unable to accommodate us when we wanted to heat up food in the evening. The lobby operated only during specific hours. Once the lobby, not the desk, was closed you were out of luck and any amenities not the room you went without. There was hair in the bed which lead us to believe the room was not thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom was not refreshed so we ended up spreading towels on the floor. The room felt damp which made the room uncomfortable. We didn't get a good nights sleep. We were relieved to check out.
The beds were comfortable and the soundproofing with the outside was perfectly adequate (and necessary given the location at the interchange of I-440 and Route 1). The free included breakfast was pretty decent, too. Good selection of beverages and healthful and non-healthful options. The hot breakfast items varied from day to day, which is nice for multi-night stays. Free wi-fi worked without issue. Sounds traveled fairly easily from the adjoining room to ours, perhaps because there were shared doors that could allow them to be used by people traveling together. On one out of four nights, we were kept awake by the conversation of a group of men enjoying themselves until eleven or midnight, and on another out of the nights, we were awakened at 5:45 by conversation from wedding guests (a very large party was staying in multiple rooms up and down the hallway). The guests were not being obviously inconsiderate and probably had no idea how audible they were. Between them and the fairly loud AC unit, it was difficult to get enough sleep. Our other two nights were better. Possibly other rooms would not have suffered as much from this problem.
The room and the friendly staff service was great. Especially the outstanding and friendly lady chef who prepared the breakfast meal. The food, beverages, cleanness and service provided by the chef were top notch. This was our 2nd stay at this location. As much as we "did" enjoy our stay, there were a couple of items I would like to address. I was disappointed to discover we did not have a small ice box or a microwave in our room. To start we had little sleep with no food, beverage or rest prior to arriving at Best Western on July 20th. We started our day up at 1:30am to prepare for our road trip. By 6:00 am we arrived to within 20 miles East of Raleigh, we found the West bound traffic on I-40 was horrific bumper to bumper until our exit off at the I-440 exit. By the time we arrived at Best Western later that afternoon we were exhausted, due to our road trip and to my fiancee's numerous medical appointments & procedure earlier that day. After our check in we learned that a guest down the hallway from us had "2" large canine's in their room. So when anyone walked by the room the dogs would begin to bark excessively. After we obtained ice, we retired to our room and managed to obtain a meal, after which we turned in for the evening @ 5:30pm, hoping for nothing more than wonderful peace and quiet. Which we did manage to obtain for about 1 to 2 hours, after that we were woken up numerous times by loud and noisy talking guest, who opened and closed their room doors entirely to much. We would have called the front desk and complained if we were not so physically and mentally exhausted. The noise generated in the hallway seems to be amplified by small hallway. Regardless after 12:30am we were back up unable to rest any longer and began the task to prepare for our trip back home.
The rooms were ok The check in process took about 30 minutes because there was only one staff member working the front desk.
Hotel was great! The front counter staff was more than welcoming and said hello every morning on the way to the great continental breakfast that was always hot, well stocked and attended. The room had ample space and the bed was very comfortable. Had to ask the maid for replacement towel one morning and it was taken care of in no time. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very nice with good water pressure. The outdoor pool was a nice bonus and was very well cared for. A very nice place to stay with easy access back to I-440. The bathroom did not have the best ventilation, and on the more humid days it would stay damp for a while.
There was a police officer stationed there all night. Everything else.
The lobby was very pretty and inviting, room was clean and cozy. It was very nice to come in very late at night to find security walking the halls. There was nothing I didn't really like, the room definitely needed more towels (only 2), and it would have been nice to have a small fridge/microwave as a bonus.
The complementary breakfast was great and the room was really comfortable! Very close to downtown and had some great restaurants around it! There was a dirty towel left in the bathroom
I loved the cleanliness of the room and eating area. The food was really good. The hallway and rooms smelled fresh. Very close to lots of food and the mall was 8min away and the highway was 10 seconds away from the entrance. I would definitely stay again. As a solo female traveler I didn't feel 100% safe because I was in a suite which was in the back of the parking lot and there were people propping the door open and sitting in the hallways. I did like that you could only get in with a key card as long as no-one had the door propped open.
Large room, fairly nice for the price. The hospitality staff wakes you up with 3 minutes of knocking on the door at 9 am. Checkout wasn't until 11 so this was a rude wake-up after working late.
No issues - clean, comfortable, reasonably priced. Not much else to ask for.
Good central location for the Raleigh area. Staff are polite and courteous. Beds are comfortable and clean. Good price on the wallet, but you know the saying.... Breakfast was....well, you might prefer to spend the money going out for that. Main elevator was frustratingly slow. 5 to 10 minute wait even though there are only 5 floors. No door whatsoever marking stairs. The other side of the hotel did have stairs, but not marked. The maid always forgot to replenish potty paper.
Liked location, central and close to mall, felt relatively safe. Enjoyed alternate entrance nearer to room. Size of room was great, fridge and microwave a plus. Nice woodsy view outside of windows. Staff was very nice. Pool seemed nice but didn't go. Would stay again, very nice value for the price. I did not love the slow elevators, and they need a not protein at breakfast. Love hard boiled eggs but with three nights it got a bit old. A nice scrambled egg option would make all the difference in this hotel for me. They also needed to vacuum the halls a bit more for overall cleanliness impression. But these wouldn't affect my decision to stay again.
Leaving Hairs on bedding, dried rice on counter, stains on bed, frn, and carpet.
No fan in bathroom working
Breakfast and big rooms Not applicable
The staff was very nice. Location was perfect for us. Tired. Has been remodeled, but .... toilet very old, very low to the floor.
Staff was very nice and the breakfast was good. It was a little hard to find as there was only a small sign. The plantings were nice and it was well maintained. Other guests - Our room was freezing when we arrived and it was nice weather so we opened the window but had to close is as there were people outside smoking and even though we were on the 4th floor, the smoke came in the window. The people stayed in the parking lot until after midnight and were loud. Also, just as a heads up, we were in a king suite and there was a couch but it was not a sleeper - could only be used as a twin.
The staff members were so helpful and nice !! You cannot beat this place !! Had awesome time !! Free shuttle to airport and also the breakfast is luxury and restaurant food is legit !!!!
Well designed room, good location right off highway. Nice stay
Plenty of room, was clean and quiet. I have no complaints
Entry, included breakfast, room layout, ease of access Coffee taste was not good
It's a nice hotel The night shift workers looked at me like I don't supposed to be in their hotel. Then put me in a handicap room. Never reserved a handicap room but they put me in one.
Modern, green conscious, staff was very friendly and we loved the suite set up. The free breakfast was so healthy and delicious
Friendly, staff at the front desk were very happy and helpful. We were able to check in when we arrived without delay. We felt safe and secure. The Rye restaurant offered a evening meal buffet special and it was great. Although the hotel was hosting multiple events, it did not feel overcrowded or too busy. Road closure preventing returning to hotel during the race. It would have been nice to show a hotel vouchered to gain access to a way/or escort to the parking area.
Location Confusion on parking...was attending a motorcycle event in the area
In City Center, helpful front desk staff, comfortable bed. Very high cost for City size. When asked was lied to about parking and Internet access. Was told that hotel parking was valet only for $30. This was wrong. You can self park for $12 though we parked one block away for $7. Also, was told Internet access was $10 per day. Lies. There was free Hotel 24 hour Internet Access for free, albeit slower but ok for email and general internet access. When we went to breakfast at 9am, there was no staff and we had to ask front desk and suddenly 6 staff members suddenly appeared. Not acceptable for this class of hotel. Breakfast was over priced for what you get.
Great location for our purposes Easy check-in and check-out Starbucks in the lobby Excellent shower mattress a bit soft Will get a bigger bed next time
I tried to cancel two weeks before my arrival, yet was still charged for my stay. That was because I booked with Kayak. I will never use kayak again.
Room was clean, staff was prompt. Location is great. Bedding/Pillows werent the quality I would had hoped for. Just a couple flat pillows on the bed.
In room dining and heated pool with spa. Price of meals.
I loved everything about this hotel! The staff was incredible-from the front desk to the maintenance people. The pool was the nicest hotel pool I have seen. Location could not have been better. I have no complaints about this hotel.
The rooms were very clean and up to date breakfast was fresh and tasted good (we ate early, though - not sure what it's like later in the morning) The staff was very friendly It was located right off the freeway in Cary which made accessing all different parts of the Raleigh area very easy This hotel neighbors an active train track
Room was big.
Clean hotel, very friendly staff, central location in Raleigh easy to connect to NC State & other places in the City No restaurants close by except McDonald's, ridiculously high minimum purchase for room-service
check in clerk was unusually rude as if he was managing a prison and we were wayward prisoners. we are both respectful executives in our businesses and expect the same respect and courtesy we give others. overall, an excellent deal once you get past the checkin. rooms are clean, well maintained, quiet, beds comfortable, breakfast was good and the courtesy lemon water was a nice refreshing touch after a long day of travel.
Everything. The room and breakfast No complaints here
We stayed on the sixth floor, which we all liked. The design of the lobby was also wonderful. Service was amazing and the staff was awesome, great people! No indoor pool, small workout room, odd room layout, no glass shower, no room service, no microwave in room, some lights did not work in the room, etc.
Wonderful decor, room layout, breakfast, lobby, and staff. Stylish, clean, and comfortable. Both Kayak and Booking.com sent a request for a review. :( When we arrived, the hotel didn't have the paperwork from Booking.com. Luckily, I had the confirmation on my phone; otherwise, it could have been an unpleasant situation. Even so, it took quite a long time to get checked in.
Friendly, clean, very homey N/a
Staff polite -- location great -- valets are super nice and accommodating. My husband ordered the room for my daughter & me as a room w/2 beds. Got to room only w/1 bed - we were moved though. He was also not told that Club Level closed on weekends. Really no purpose to stay Club. Expressed this concern to front desk & she pointed out there were more amenities, like a robe & extra toiletries. Only 1 robe (for 2 people) and no extra toiletries. She asked if we booked through an outside source & said oh, that's why you weren't told about club level. This was very disappointing to me. No reason at all to pay the extra for club level.
Free parking, the room was ready and clean when we arrived, the staff was efficient. Front desk attendant was not knowledgeable about area.
The location phenomenal. Everything was fantastic, until morning, kind of like when you go out and drunkenly bring someone home. I prepaid for my booking, and so when the front desk asked me for a credit card, I didn't think anything of it. Just to cover incidentals, the clerk said. I woke up to a receipt slid under the door, $7 for parking. I was kinda ticked, but didn't really mind, because we parked in a parking garage, and i figured no major cost, its fine. Breakfast prices were insane. "Breakfast buffet" for 2 with one water and one juice was over $30. I say "buffet" because it was little more than a continental breakfast. On the buffet line were fruit, cereal, milk, eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast, grits, and oatmeal (maybe I missed an item or two.) The restaurant had terribly poor service, the food was mediocre at best. The night before we went and grabbed dinner at The Burough, within walking distance of the hotel, for 2 entrees, 2 sides, 2 drinks, an appetizer, and amazing service, we paid the same as we did for breakfast.
the room, internet connection, location, safety, hotel staffs.
Desk staff was friendly. Located near some night life. Toenail clippings on carpet. The window shade was broken and hanging down. Shower head was pointed out of the shower initially which could have made a mess. The hotel seemed to have been recently remodled, but somehow in a state of disrepair.
You pay for parking per vehicle. They'll give you as many as you want but won't warn you. Not a big issue, and those who travel frequently likely know this. This just took us off guard.
Location, clean and neat Staff was less than competant, initially told me that they had no record of our second room being booked. Told us we would have to call the booking agent to resolve the issue. While waiting for the manager, another clerk came and found the reservation. Our initial person, had in correctly spelled the parties name. Instead of checking, she just told us there was no room available. Restaurant was inadequately staffed. There were only two wait staff and one cook on duty for breakfast, service was very slow and were seating people serving and clearing. Not enough people for a full hotel.
Great location. Everything clean. The person I checked in with was not very friendly or welcoming but rest of the staff we encountered were great.
Not even complimentary coffee in lobby for am
the bathroom facilities were too low
Breakfast staff was unfriendly; breakfast is poor
The location was within walking distance of many dining establishments. The hotal provided a listing and directions for these eateries. The hotel dining accommodations (decor) could use an update.
Can' beat the location, can walk to everything TINY bathrooms, no pool
Buffet breakfast and coffee with juice Room coffee pot and coffee
A bit dated but overall clean and comfortable. Within walking distance to PNC Arena
The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. The bathroom was not as clean as it could have been. The shower walls in particular had a bit of mold in the grout.
Convenience to carter-finley stadium. Needs to be updated.
Location and common area amenities were nice. The room was nice and seemingly updated relatively recently. The hallways need better lighting or different carpet or something. While not dark, they seem dingy, but not dirty. The bathroom in the room had mildew on the grout and seems like it is need to a quick renovation to have a new shower head, better tower bars, soap dishes and cleaner grout .
Great value in a somewhat dated facility. This is a no frills hotel, but very convenient to RDU and the university. The daily breakfast was also as expected: plentiful, but institutional. The building could use some updating, especially the carpet.

Have to go to the hotel next door for the bar.

Location, hot breakfast, staff & clean room NO
Tv's in the bathrooms and stylish furnishings and breakfast Nope
Courteous staff and exceptional customer service. The front desk staff deserves an A+. Breakfast was great A strand of hair on the shower wall.

the place was clean and new feeling the walls felt thin like room next door was right in there with us.

Convenient location in walking distance to NC State university. Otherwise, rooms were average and not super clean. Paint on ceiling in shower was peeling and lighting was poor and dark. No refrigerator in room. Parking early in the evening near the building filled up and outer parking lot not well lit. Walls paper thin and could hear guest in next room and on balconies until early in morning hours. Overpriced for the amenities and age of the property.
The rooms were clean. Memory foam mattresses were so old and yellowed they were hard as boards. The shower was weak, shower head very old, no hot water.
It's a bit expensive but typically comfortable but a discount that frequent travelers would be nice
Walls were paper thin. We heard arguments from the room across the hall and sirens from the police station across the street.
Time for a renovation
Staff was extremely polite and accommodating.
Great linen package Location Staff Bedroom cleanliness Parking Outdated dirty bathroom Tiny tub Running toilet Slowwwwww elevators $400.00 credit card hold Water pressure weak
Location is great for what we needed. Upcharge for wi-fi, escalators didn't work. elevators were VERY SLOW and useless when we needed to get out. Had to let two go by because they were full and then then took fire steps - which only opens to outside and is wired to an alarm which thankfully (or not?) didn't go off . Was told card key would get us out of the parking garage without paying which didn't happen. Cost me $12 to get out.
No proper guest enquiry service.
Staff.Large room n bath, full kitchen w service for 2 and extras.Room extremely functional, would serve 2-3 for extended stay.Bathrm sink for baby bath! Three chairs, large desk.At midnight arrival, front desk tried to find me a phone charger!Bfast.Thx! For a senior traveler with a crumbling hip,bed was torture, but probably perfectly average for others.Smelled faintly of dirty laundry except at bfast.Clock unsettable.Microwave great alarm clock.Pros:good soundproofing, functional window.
The location and the price. The free breakfast was very good and had a lot of variety. The room smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke, and the outside door (next to our room) closed very loudly due to the closer not operating correctly. Not a problem except in the middle of the night!
Nice surprise all the way around. Clean and quiet. Nice accommodations. Highly recommend! Everything was fabulous.
Liked the carpet and desk chair. Breakfast was good. Bed really nice. Clean. The breakfast seating area is to tight and crowded. Water pressure seemed really low at shower head. No ice available anywhere on arrival. Missed maid touchup one day.
Location Bed linen was EXTREMELY soiled
Everything was a plus Nothing
The free dinner served Mon, Tues, and Wed. was a positive perk that was unexpected, along with the free breakfast. The batteries in the TV remote were bad in two remotes that were furnished to me to try and chage channels with.
The staff was courteous and professional. I appreciated that they changed my room to one that was non-adjoining when I requested it because I was a female traveling solo. Also, the location was perfect. Close to what I needed, but not in the middle of it. It's an aging hotel, so the floors are a bit squeaky. I felt bad moving around when I woke up early.
The size of the room. It was clean, you had a suite, you could cook, microwave, place items in the refrigerator and dishes were available to use. Nice breakfast selections. I also enjoyed the exercise room. I was able to get a workout. It was hidden. It was hard to see this hotel from the road. I had to drive around several times to find it. There should be a sign letting you know where it is, that you can see from the road.
The staff was AMAZING!! They were very helpful and kind. I really enjoyed my stay!
Location Mattress was worn out and front desk did not inform me that there was no maid service on saturday

Spacious rooms; the bathroom was not cluttered. No left turn out of the entrance; pillows were a little too soft.
Room had clean composite flooring. Convenient to downtown and on way to airport. Safe location. Breakfast was apples and plain oatmeal. Coffee was good.
Nice place to stay in the area. Clean room and was in a safe location. Great value for the price. I would stay there again if in the area. Be careful where you stay in this area. I made the mistake of staying at the Motel 6 in this area to save a few bucks and it was very dangerous. Free breakfast but it's oatmeal, fruit and coffee. If you are looking for a cheap, clean , safe place to stay in the Raligh area this is the best I have found in the area so far if you are trying not to overspend on a motel. The desk guy was nice too. Well done guys. I can't complain. I'm sure I'll be back next time I work in Raleigh.
The hotel staff and guests were very polite.
The room was spacious and clean. When arriving to the PNC arena in Raleigh North Carolina we were immediately disappointed. We booked online thru Kayak and on the website the pictures that were shown for the room that we wanted were not for the room that we received and payed for. So upon arrival we were told that in order to receive the room that we wanted (the one that the pictures were of online) we would have to pay an additional $80 to get. After speaking to the manager about my frustration she was nice enough to lower the additional fee to about $40. When we received our bank statement the next morning we had been charged over $70..we then had to go back and speak to the manager once again, and had to call the bank to have them release the charge and refund us the money, money in which we needed for our trip. That took another day or two to refund to the account. In all we spent about $180 for a two night stay in a room that was nice but mediocre. The shower in the room needed to be remodeled desperately the floor was caved in on either side. The vending machine showed a price for each snack but once you put your money in and paid for it you were charged more. There was also profanity engraved all over the entire elevator door. I will not be returning to this hotel in the future.
I liked the staff, they were very welcoming, and I also liked how the cleaning people did not bother me and were very kind and respectful. The one thing that turned me off was how dirty the floor was, it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned in months. This could have been an easy fix if they would have just vacuumed it or mopped it before I stayed in the room. The dirty floor made me feel like everything else in the hotel was dirty, which I don't think was true. But I ended up not even sleeping under the covers.
Convenient, good rate and clean. Nice business area and good fitness center. I bit worn and in need of repair in places in room. Front spot light had been shattered and not yet replaced, but could have been due to severe recent weather.
Basically a hotel in which people are living in. The parking lot was littered with cars, trucks, vans in various states of disrepair. I left immediately after seeing this, fearing neither I or my car would survive the night without issue. Even though I checked in early I had to forfeit the fee due to your restrictive cancellation policy. I will NEVER use your service again.
In this location, many of the available hotels are run down or relatively high priced. This one is nice, clean and was in the slightly-under-$100/night price range when I stayed there. No problems.
I did not like the fact that the rates through Kayak were considerably higher than if I had booked directly.
The CFL bulbs they use in the rooms provide a hard lighting effect. They need to install soft white LED bulbs to improve this.
It is right in the middle of north Raleigh Smelt bad everywhere in the hotel. Staff seemed like they couldn't care less about guests, but they were not rude--just indifferent.
The room was perfect for what we needed and the shower pressure was outstanding. Would have liked to have had blackout curtains to block more of the sunlight in the morning. Was also disappointed that the jacuzzi was out of order because that was one of the main reasons I booked the night there. But overall, this was a great value for my money.
It was not in a favorable location.
Location Room overall was run down and dirty. Expected more from this brand.
The bed was very comfortable, no shortage of hot water, and the individuals at the front desk seemed friendly. I got in late my first night there, set out my outfits for the week, and got on my personal computer to Skype. In the morning, I didn't have time to put everything away so I put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door since I didn't need them to tidy up anyway. When I got back that afternoon, my clothes were all moved into one pile and my personal computer had been unplugged, closed, and moved. I don't want to make it sound like I'm complaining that I had my bed made, but I feel like unless it's past a customer's checkout time, housekeeping should respect the requests of the customers to keep out of their rooms.
The checkin staff was very efficient, friendly and informative. Very comfortable bed, spacious room, very clean and an excellent hot breakfast. Our room was on the 2nd floor overlooking the lobby and front desk. We heard people talking and doors closing throughout the night.
I love the location of the hotel it was right in the middle of a lot of things going on. Great Restaurants, Great shopping, and close to downtown as well. The staff was fantastic to work with and were very professional. I am going back to Raleigh in the spring and I will definitely be staying here again. I hope in future that they will have a shuttle service from the Airport to the hotel. With a place this nice it was hard to believe that they didn't have a shuttle service. Instead it cost me a total of 80 bucks to get back and forth from the Airport.
The facilities, staff and cleanliness was superb. The rooms were beautiful. I would highly recommend it. You can hear the hall noise.
the room was just awesome nothing
I spent 4 nights over a long weekend with my girlfriend. We had an amazing time. Not only was Hyatt House Raleigh North Hills a great stay but its location is even better. The proximity to good food, drinks, and shopping was the best part. The room was very clean when we arrived. Modern and cozy. Bathroom was gigantic! Lastly the staff was great. Would defiantly stay there again and would advise others to do so. There complementary breakfast was advertised to close at 10 AM. But did close earlier than that on Sunday when we came down at 9:45-9:50.
Convenient location, clean and comfortable room with a great breakfast. Unfortunately there was a wedding party that stayed up all night opening and closing their room doors but aside from their disrespect for others, the hotel stay was good and I would stay at the Holiday Inn on Capital Boulevard again.
