Good location close to the beach and centre of Playa del Ingles. Excellent food with show kitchen. Friendly staff. Big room with air conditioning. Can recommend for value for money! Partly old building, dirty corridors, our room in the "cellar" = reception at 4th floor, our room at first floor facing parking, hilly location.
The fodd was the best i've eaten in my entire life, definetely go all-inclusive or you will be paying 5 euro a drink.
The staff were very friendly and well organised. The hotel itself is very clean and They have wireless internet in the lobby area only, and although you can use numerous independent networks for a fee to be able to use the internet in your room. I would suggest they set up there own.
The room, facilities & hotel staff were superb; We arrived at 1am, and Reception had thoughtfully provided a cold meal as we'd missed dinner. Depending on your preferences, you may find the following good or bad - The hotel wasn't too busy when we stayed there (October half-term) and there were very few young couples or children - Most guests were mature German couples. However, the atmosphere was pleasant and staff spoke good English. Daytime and evening entertainment was average, but you were close to lots of bars for a livelier evening! Smoking was permitted on the room balconies and in parts of the bar + outside public areas. Food was good, with plenty of choice and half board was excellent value. Our balcony only got the evening sun and was partly shaded by trees in the gardens. However, we didn't bother asking to be moved as we actually liked the shade & privacy when we wanted to cool off from the sun terraces. Probably two-thirds of the balconies get all-day sun, most of the rest get evening sun.
The relaxing atmosphere That guests were put together with other guests on tables joined together which made one ill at ease and that the hotel was geared more towards German or Dutch guests.
The stuff was very nice. There was a lot of noise and they cheated on us. We had to stay the first day in a different hotel because they where overbooked. We had a lot of problems in the beginning but then it was ok.
Good food and facilities The hotel was freezing cold and as a result we barely slept any night we were there.
location was the only useful advantage for me The hotel did not suit me as a solo traveller and certainly did not represent value for money. For a 4* hotel, i found the hotel sodisappointing with a very drab restaurant, no room service, no facility to get ice, laundry taking 36hrs and not on sat/sun - Iam sure it must suit many others as their chosen hotel, but it was not for me
Restaurant quality, staff courtesy.
Great hotel excellent standards of housekeeping great staff
Very nice hotel, everything worked as expected, and no problems. All facilities for a good summer holiday available.
It's location and value for money. There were no english speaking news or sports channels available on the room t.v.. The bar does not have a'no smoking zone' so those of us who do not smoke were unable to enjoy a drink there.
Everyting was perfekt. Some sound from the road came in under the door, perheps som sealing her.
I enjoyed the proximity to the Yumbo Center and to beaches. The hotel was clean and Unfortunately, if a person is handicapped or has problems negotiating stairs, the Neptuno is not a good hotel for him.
Central location and friendly staff The food in the restaurant in particular the warm dishes could be better, less choices but better quality would be preferred (too fat)
Price, bar, internet and pool Rooms need renovation, but ok for a short stay
Convienence to Beach.Quiet. Beds were of poor quality, and needs upgrading.
location and seawiev, Avis office in walking distance. Other people did seem to like to hang around in the pool bar from morning to midnight but it was never too loud. a small discomfort to park the car a bit far away because the hotel is "surrounded" by pedestrial zone
Relaxed atmosphere, so it was a good springboard for whatever!
It wasn't packed with people, had a nice bar and swimming pool area. I loved the parrots they got. Many of the swimming pool chairs were broken and not replaced with a new ones. Also I'd appreciate an information that it is a gey friendly hotel as there were hardly no straight couples/singles or even families. I don't mind geys at all as long as they're not too close as it was in Los Salmones.
The staff was verry frendly and helpfull. Nice uotdoor area. Many bars and pubs around the hotel. The beds are to hard. We had to use the carpets under the sheets.
Close to all amenities - beach etc. Beds very uncomfortable. Noise level from motorway all night long. Need double glazed windows. Had requested specific room - did not receive - got complete opposite !!!!
Good location for transport links around the island and close to shops/bars etc. Facilities are the bare minimum and would certainly not take up the all inclusive option.Design of the buildings not good for a balcony in the sun as the majority are in shadow.
Hotel is located very near to a nice beach. The breakfast was good. The wardtobe smelled terribly after some rotten stuff. The towels were changed only once a five days (!). The floor was not clean and the rubbish bin could be handled better by the hotel staff.
nothing at all!!!! it was the worst hotel i ever stayed in! the staff were nasty and heartless and not a bit helpful. the cockroaches were so bad i found one on my head while i was sleeping, the kitchen is not fully equipped, please do not stay in this hotel you will not enjoy it!! pool loungers s uncomfortable!
Excellent location to Yumbo Easy to get taxi Close to restaurants Lots of drawers and closet space Need a microwave and coffee maker The noise from the stage at the poor can be troublesome Floor layouts are a bit strange Some lifts (elevators) were out of service No free Wi-Fi
Very nice swimming pool with plants. Good located. Air-condition wasn't efficient hole hotel, very weak! Fittnes room is also without air-condition! Food is not appriopriate to 4 stars.
The hotel was excellent, it was well located and had excellent facilities including the bar, restaurant and pool
The location of the hotel was excellent and I really enjoyed the lunches served in the Pool Bar. However, I thought that the facility of the shower room on the day of leaving was marvellous. I have no complaints, I really enjoyed my stay at the IFA Dunamar Hotel and I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel to my friends.
Poor aircondition system, it was a central system only circulating hot air. No balcony for single room.
It was convenient and central Very cold welcome-none at all in fact. Buffet breakfast like an industrial canteen, coffee and tea undrinkable. No extras- not even an extra toilet roll and soap in room. Mini bar empty-do they not trust guests in a 4 star hotel. Very disappointed with this hotel. Only one computer in use for internet and very expensive-a rip off. No quality Irish papers available.
The room was gorgeous. Very clean but there was nothing in the mini bar which was annoying.
There is everything that one can ever want. Lunch at the poolside is perfect.Very close to the beach + some supermarkets behind the beach. The whole hotel "functions" very good. With nice staff and personnell. In general very clean and rather OK. The buffet food is plenty, although perhaps somewhat impersonal restaurant. I will recommend the hotel any day. Most things were good. Internet usage is overpriced, considering that it cost half just outside the hotel-door towards the beach. And Internet software was "a bit special". Looks good, but looks better than it works. Local Spanish supplier apparently.
the hotel is very good located : 100 m walking to go to the beach. I did like also the seaview from the room and also the gardens view and swimming pool. Very good breakfast. no various food !! the menu for the diner was always the same; it's boring when you stay 7 nights.
Hotel close to the beach, big room, good variety in the breakfast buffet "Hidden" costs (rental for safe, orange juice at the breakfast...)
All restaurants are good working. Needs to be redecorated many places.
I enjoyed the great variety of food available for breakfast waiting for lifts
Stayed for 1 week in Nov. Booked a double room expecting a double but received a twin bed. Were told "double" meant 2 persons! Finally got a double bed on the East side of the building on 8th floor - fantastic sea views and morning sunrise. Room spacious but no air con! Only the hotel lobby has air con. Leaving door open lets breeze through room. Sleeping with patio doors open each night helped too. Wasn't dissapointed with the food. We were hb and there was plenty of options for breakfast and dinner, but we had to eat out a couple of places to spice things up. The two pool areas were nice, but don't expect 1st come 1st served as beds get reserveed very early on. Good location with 15 min walk to beach. No air con, no iron or tea making factilites, WiFi only available in the hotel lobby and you have to pay, must rent safe deposit in room (max €3,000 cover), trouble getting sun beds when busy.
Nice and friendly staff, big and clean rooms, good evening animation, close to the shops and beach. Good value for money.
I enjoyed all the facilities and stayed there last sept 09 and that is why I chose to go back to this hotel. My only reccomendation would be to place fridges and tea/coffee makers into each room.
The hotel was well sited virtually in the centre of Playa del Ingles, yet in a quiet location. We had two boys 16 and 17 and there was plenty of activities around the poolside such as pool volley ball, water polo and beach volley ball. They seemed to be constantly active. We were on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was well presented and a good selection. Both twin bedded rooms were large and well furnished with a tv that had a good selection of stations including Sky News, Sky Sport, bbc 24 and cnn. Everything was generally fine. One exception, they should invest in a new toaster!A Clock well positioned by the poolside would be helpful.
The room was great and the food good international buufet with lots of fruit Other guests were very noisy at night and mostly the entertainment was not very good
no hot water, shower went from scalding to freezing with no in between
The kindness of the staff; the pools; cleanliness of the room; 24H check-in The food could improve a lot; the carpets of the corridors look old, giving the overall sensation of being in an untidy place; need of overhauling the decoration of the place, looks old also; lack of rooms with double-beds.
the spa some waiters are inneficient, of course there are some that are super friendly
Great spa, food a bit hit and miss, but overall enough to choose from. All in gives you free drinks, ice cream all day through and the chance to eat cake four times a day! Free computers with internet, good animation (something different every night and activities like bowling or darts through the day), also for children (every night a mini disco). I got the impression they follow up on the feedback online (and the form you could fill out in the hotel) and do their best to improve. * The personnel at the reception desk. Some were willing to help, others seemed to want to spend as little time on you as possible. Overall not very generous with smiles and friendliness. The other staff were very friendly and helpful. * The building: I had the impression it was a very old building they were trying to patch up. On a few places they were actually working on things, which was a bit noisy sometimes. * Noise: you could hear the kitchen (I think everywhere in the building). But if you closed the bathroom door and window, it was ok. * Aircon: not adjustable, so it was either too hot or too cold in our room. We always slept with the windows open, but this was not ideal as there is a motorway behind the hotel and a street in front.
We both really enjoyed the excellent Spa facility on offer here. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly. The location and facilities throughout the hotel were superb and we would definately recommend it and look forward to returning. we were half board and whilst the breakfast was excellent, I found the dinners could have more variety.
Our two week stay at the hotel was the most relaxing holiday that we have had in Grand Canaria - over a period of 23 years. The food was excellent, the atmosphere relaxing, the cleanliness excellent and the staff friendly and courteous. We hope to return early in the new year The only concern that we had was that the chairs in the reception area were uncomfortable for my wife who has back pain following surgery
inner and outer pools, wellness facilities, playing space for children, big family room, excellent waiters, delicious cabbage salad, location close to the sea promenade too much fried food in the buffet, funny washing machine
Both the spa and the gym are excellent and included free of charge (except for special treatments of course).
Spa facilities were very good Room was in need of refurbishment
We got the half/board for our 1 week stay at the hotel, and I must say that we were pleasantly surprised by the variety offered by the buffet. There was a dedicated person at the grill for every meal! The staff was very helpful and committed. The hotel has excellent spa / relaxation facilities, grand roof top solarium with view to the ocean. The hotel is about 5 minute walk from the beach promenade. There is a gaming room as well as free computer and internet access. Also, there is an underground garage, which was not big nor fancy, however considering that the parking problem in Gran Canaria is worse than any metropolis, the hotel's garage was very useful. A very big disappointment was the constant noise coming from the kitchen. At 7.30 in the morning there would be loud banging sounds of the dishes being thrown / washed in the restaurant. Also, there was a sauna, which was only for nudists, and we were asked to leave because we would not take off our swimsuits.
This hotel was clinically efficient but total lack of friendliness from staff, they seemed to be unwilling to speak English. As a solo traveller this made for a very quiet holiday. The food was ok but the wellness center was excellent Total lack of atmosphere, found the food to be average & the carpets in the room needs to be replaced.
enjoyed the closeness to the sea and nightlife, nice pool, pity sun goes down early, cant help that now, nice of ye to ask, will b back
the location is ok, near the beach and near the main shopping centers. at night a little noisy during high season depending on which room you sleep, because of tghe many bars/disco's in front of hotel. i travelled a lot in my life, i never payed my double room € 116/night, without revceiving a remote controle for the tv. you have to pay 4,5€ more by day.. for this price you also don't get access to the sauna neither, and if you don't clean the kitchen in your room, they charge you €30 more, i suppose the cleaning wives there have a reel luxury life. the breakfast is ok but only boiled eggs as hot served. anyway this is a hotal where a never would stay again, typical germain mangement, some staff doesn't understand english, even the room manuals are only in german and spanish..
Well what can I say my 2nd stay at this hotel this year! Fantastic place, went there first in April with just the other half for a week, ended up staying 2 weeks because of the volcano eruption! The staff couldn't have been more helpful, so we decided to come back in August with my daughters. Didn't think they could improve the place but they had. Extended the Spa facilities, tidied up the lift areas and ongoing work happening on the balconies and fascias. The food was still excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd stay if only for a week! Just can't rely on these volcanos can you?
the management ignore valid complaints about some staff (what a pitty)
- Overall cleanliness (rooms & other facilities) - Spa - Organized entertainment & other facilities (minigolf, game room, kids playground etc.) - Room next to kids playground was most convenient location to stay with small kids! - People reserving sun-loungers in early morning was really annoying!! - Limited access (9-12) to kids at spa (spa was the most important factor when choosing the hotel) - Broken ventile at the bottom of one pool at back corner (both our kids got open cuts), however, this was fixed during our stay at the hotel - Noise from the gym in late evenigns and early mornings (rooms next to the playground, under the gym), noise from foot thumbing and metal weights hitting the floor) - Improvement idea: Dinner menus with geographical themes (Chinese, Mexican, Spain, Greece etc...)
The food was excellent. The hotel offered free entrance to the spa for all guests. Free bus transportation to the beach. I booked a twin room, but upon arrival I asked for a room with a king-size bed and the hotel accommodated me with no extra charge. Dutch and German tourists put their towels on all the lounge chairs by the pool at 7:30 a.m.and then left to come back later. I went to the pool at 9 a.m., and although only a few people were there, all the lounge chairs were taken.
The setting was superb for relaxation and the Spa provided a welcome and restful hour after a day of sunbathing. There wasn't sufficient sun beds mainly because people put out towels in the early morning and then disappeared for most of the day.
complaints management, business model, pool cleaning, breakfast eggs, suits elderly people inconsistencies between advertised product and true experience, towel war, elevators, vending machines, hygiene, jaccuzi, no air conditioning
Steak on hot stone at lunch time. Wellbeing Centre 5* plus Hotel is fantastic Not many English
almost everything, reception desk staff exceptionally good i did think the food in the evening could have been hot,and the bowls for soup are far to shallow and could cause problems by spilling over,i would sugest smaller bowls but deeper when people have to carry them. especially elderly people ..
Bed was to small you should have a double bed for mature people and you should not allow sun beds to be taken over if they are not being used we never could get a bed to lie in the sun and we all pay the same money
