It's non smoking room but I can smell smoke very well.
This hotel was just 'okay', if anything was good, it was the location, we were only a few blocks from Kokasai st. About a $8 cab ride. The 1 resturant only has Japanese style food, and the room was tiny!! The front desk clerks were nice but barely understood english. We tried to upgrade our room but they said the only room with a large enough bed for two people was even smaller than the standard twin room we already paid for? So, my husband and I had to sleep seperately on the tiny beds on our romantic getway night...LAME! Oh and I got a non-smoking room, but apparently that didn't matter, the room stunk of cigarette stench!
The staff understood english fairly well. I would ask the staff at the front desk for ideas on somewhere to go visit and to eat, they pick good places that either they like or a place where tourist like. They will draw it out on a map for you from the hotel. It is very hot in Oki. so i was surprised there was no pool (maybe thats just an american thing). The food cost a little more that its worth but not it is not too bad, i ate the breakfast a couple times. the gift shop has good prices, it is no more expensive then the stores on Kokusai St. and in some cases cheaper.
The hotel staff are OK. didn't really have any need to interface with them. The hotel is very close to the Naha airport and within walking distance to a monorail station. Free wifi included in the room. I requested a no-smoking room but they didn't have one. Went to the Lawson's across the street and bought some non-scented Fabreze air freshener. Worked like a charm and I'm a non-smoker and am sensitive to cigarette odor. There a 3 convenience stores very near the hotel so getting snacks, drinks and even meals was convenient and easy. I tried the hotel food once and it was fine. Just cheaper to ransack the convenience stores. Now that my parents sold their house in Okinawa, I will always stay at this hotel whenever I re-visit the island. Highly recommended if you are a single person travelling. My sister even crashed the room for a couple of nights and it was still OK. If there was anything I would have desired, would have been a slight bigger bathroom/shower/tub. But it's fine as it is.
