Had a very pleasant stay. Rooms were newer, pool and hot tub were nice. Excellent location- we walked to dinner/drinks. Short drive to wineries in Healdsburg and Santa Rosa
Parking but there was a Christmas party
The one younger girl working was very nice! None of this was her fault. The Management should have stepped in !! We reserved a king room that was one of the most expensive rooms available in Santa Rosa. We arrived and checked into the room on a friday evening. When entering the room it had a extremely strong cigarette smell. So I went and told the front counter that we needed to get a different room. They said everything was booked except a room with 2 queen beds. I said we booked a king room for me and my girlfriend so this was not acceptable. I called every other hotel and everything was full by this time in the afternoon. Now the room wasnt bad but if your going to charge top dollar you should give people what they want. Also we ordered room service breakfast and a wakeup call and never received . This place is not living up to the Hyatt name. They should have offered a discount or something if there gonna downgrade me and basically say this is what you get. I felt like I was forced to pay 300+ dollars or be homeless for the night. I will be staying across the street at the Marriot next time.
There was a total lack of attention to detail and lack of response to travelers staying there. It took two nights and my taking a picture of my bed and threatening to send the picture to corporate for the Hyatt to use a mattress cover and sheets that were big enough to fit the king bed so that they would stay on through the night. Then when we needed to order an early breakfast room service and needed the card to put on the doorknob, it took three calls and we still had no response and no breakfast card. We needed to go to sleep so went to bed without being able to order our room service breakfast. This was harmful to us in the morning with our early meeting/tournament. Even simple details like having regular coffee packs and decaffeinated coffee packs in the room they were unable to accomplish. Offering us one free breakfast was not sufficient to make up for the mess the hotel is in. They give lip service to telling supervisors and handling problems but they do not.
Overall experience doesn't match with price by a long shot. Holton above the hill much better luxury and value. Best asset you have is extraordinary concierge.
Very comfortable and well appointed rooms. The decor was decades out of date.
Clean & Elegant
REally liked the location and the staff was really nice and fun. I felt like the hotel was overpriced.
Heated Pool, Great bedding and comfortable bed, Keurig Coffee Maker, plenty of complimentary newspapers in the morning. However, cheap toilet paper and scant coffee condiments in the room just didn't seem to match the rest of the decor and hospitality. These two little things would be so easy to improve on....But in the meantime, bring your own coffee creamer!
The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Their ad did not indicate their pool and hot tub was closed for the winter. We were very disappointed to find this out when we checked in. They offered us passes to the FountainGrove club, which was nice, but if we'd known in advance they had no hot tub on the property, we would have gone elsewhere. We've been to this hotel many times before, and were disappointed with how it's changed.
• Interiors are set in modern decor rarely found in hotels on this price range • Room I stayed was clean, spacious and had no odors • Staff were helpful • Plenty free parking space in front • Location is great for visiting wineries in Northern Sonoma • WiFi signal wasn’t good in my room so I had to be in lobby area to get better connection. This part needs improvement. The staff acknowledged this issue and are working on to improve it. • Breakfast (not complimentary) is served in a restaurant on the first floor Overall, Fountaingrove Inn is a nice place for the rate I paid. There were negative reviews in the past but I think the hotel has improved since. Regardless what other booking web sites rate this hotel 3 stars or 4 stars, the rate you pay reflects the quality. You just don’t pay a hundred forty dollar room and expect the place to be like the Hilton - then you just move up to the next budget level of $200+. Bad Wifi connection in my room.
I loved the scent of the toiletries, the comfortable bed, and the delicious coffee for the Kuerig. There was even creamer in the rooms refrigerator. The restaurant across the way is very good but also very pricey. The staff was helpful and friendly. We had everything we wanted or needed. Really likes the communicating with the front desk by text. Look forward to our next stay! The fan in the bathroom was pretty weak, but seem to get all of the steam from my shower.
Nice location/value with friendly staff and very comfy beds. A no brainer if in the area.
Charming old hotel, right downtown, walking distance to many restaurants and shops. 4 blocks from Russian River Brewing Old tube type tv, room small by today's standards. Neither was a problem, I didn't come here to watch TV, and with the age of the hotel the room size is expected.
The outside of the hotel look cute and historical. The inside is other story.
We found La Rose Hotel to be very welcoming and immaculate. We liked all the light in our room and the large marble bathroom. The parking was conveniently located nearby. The hotel was near excellent restaurants and interesting shops. We enjoyed all the fresh fruit offered as a part of the complimentary breakfast buffet. The water for tea was not hot, but when asked, they promptly remedied the problem. It would add a nice ambiance if music was played during the breakfast hours.
Staff were friendly. Room was clean. Close to the conference venue. Good continental breakfast. Near homeless shelter and location of parking lot.
Charming boutique hotel...good restaurants in walking distance and the charm of great wine country
Location Little mold in shower, could not get extra towels delivered. Had to goto lobby for ice and towels. Only provided towels for 2 of 3 guests
very near to good restaurants, clean, quiet I made 3 reservations under one name hoping we would all have rooms in the same building. Front desk person said the hotel thought it was only one person and they did not put all of us in the same room - did not make any sense.
Loved the convenient location, ease of parking, and closeness to amenities. Liked that I felt safe walking around the neighborhood. Looking forward to staying once the Smart Train starts running all the way to Larkspur. You could park the car & never move it for an extended stay. The free breakfast was a bonus & quite delicious. Lots of street noise; took one night to get used to. Slept much better the second night.
The hotel had a vintage turn of the century look & feel to it. An being this was a honeymoon stay my beautiful bride really appreciated the classic feel it brought to our honeymoon. This was very centrally located from everywhere we wanted to go. Most of the restaurants we went to were either a short walk away or a very short drive away. Access to & from the freeway was very simple which made it that much better for day trips which we took several. There was a few things that I did see that was troublesome. An that was the cleanliness of the bathroom. Along the ceiling was what appears to be either small buildup of water stains or mildew. Other than that the hotel was very good. The other issue I had was by no means within the control of the hotel but it is still an issue. Every morning & everyday we were there all we heard an saw was the yelling from the local transients in the park across the street from the hotel. That was a big issue I had every time I dropped of my wife at the door to go park the car. I can't he but think that one would try to harass or rob her as she's walking inside while I'm parking our car across the street.
The grounds of this Property were immaculately groomed and fountains, potted plants, and bushes were so attractive. The walkways meandered through property and included a lit Bocce Ball court and a walking trail. Our King Bedroom included a patio facing the vineyard accessed by an attractive doorway. Our room was nicely decorated and included two stuffed arm chairs for our comfort. We also had a credenza and a work desk with chair. There was plenty of room and the bathroom was very nicely appointed. We ate in their dining room which was beautifully lit with tiny lights and elegant décor. Food was fabulous and plenty of choices and excellent presentation. Every bit was delicious. We also ordered one breakfast through room service and our eggs benedict were perfect! Coffee hot and O.J. cold and flavorful. Complimentary bottle of wine & 2 waters. We would definitely stay again! This is not really a dislike, for me the large bath was a little tall but my husband loved it. It was a nice oval soaking tub in the shower enclosure. They had grab bars for safety so that was easy.
The hotel is 20 minutes from everything. At first I was nervous that it was right off the highway but that was nothing to be concerned about. It is very quiet. Views are of the adjacent vineyard. The grounds are lovely and full of surprises (like the bocce court). The food was fantastic (the main restaurant and John Ash). The rooms are so spacious and comfortable. Best value in wine country. There is nothing not to like.
It was an ok hotel. Nothing was wrong with it per se. Nothing was great either. The bathroom, the bed, the room: all adequete. Don't expect magic and luxury and it's the right place to stay. In fairness it was clean. The staff wasn't informative. Ask them for recommended wineries, they google the exact same list you could, and read it to you. Ask for a restaurant, they'll tell you the ones you passed on your drive in.
A first class hotel, suitable for visiting the Napa & Sonoma Valleys. The hotel is on the outskirt of Santa Rosa and not in walking distance of its restaurants.
Very good standards
Location and service level. I felt they could have opened the kitchens earlier and made a runners breakfast. We were there for the healdsburg half marathon. I would have definitely have paid for a nice bowl of oatmeal at 5am....the run started at 7.15am. Just a thought.
The front desk was very polite handling my complaint and agreed to refund half of my room charge if Kayak initiated the reduction Mold poisoning
Cobwebs in corners of bathroom
Clean rooms, friendly staff, and met our needs (we just needed a simple place to stay before an Ironman race). There was a $10 parking fee, which seemed odd as this isn't a city with limited parking. There were huge parking lots, so this just seemed like a bit of greediness on the hotel's part.
The rooms were nice really clean but the corridors and walk ways looked old and needed a updating. No big deal it was overall a very nice hotel. updating of carpet and stairways.
Actually the room was ok and the hotel in general was nice and well mantained The location is far from any "life form". Actually you have to drive for miles to reach places. The absence of free internet in the room.
Gym facility. Low rise hotel. Luxury
Privacy Old falling apart furniture
The central location in the wine valley, and the evening wine taste were the best things
The rooms were very nice and modern....... That's about all I can say good. The wall were thin and you could hear everything. We stayed for 2 days and didn't get much sleep. It's not in the best part of town and there were a lot of kids using the place to party. 1 person working at a time so they are usually very busy and its impossible to get anything u need. The last night there the cops showed up because an employees went into a room and stole money and it was on camera so the employee was arrested. Although we put the "please clean" hanger on the door they never services our room while we were gone during the day.
Shower was nice Floor, Walls, and Counters were filthy
Good location. Some nice touches, Noisy on the second floor, lots of traffic noise.
Beds were nice, room size was good. The showers are horrible! Comes straight down from ceiling very high up with no water pressure and no door to close so water goes all over the bathroom!
The two ladies I spoke with when I arrived were very nice and helpful. the room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Everything looked nice and completely serviceable for me needs of just being there one night. There were just details (some small and some not so small) that weren't right. No toilet paper in a bathroom is inexcusable. A sink that doesn't drain, AT ALL, is annoying. The bedside clock not being updated from a recent daylight savings change. All of those aren't deal breakers, but they need to be taken care of.
Upgrade to a suite. Excellent room. Quiet. No TV in bedroom.
Close to family. When I arrived the night manager was RUDE!!! When we entered our room, there was a used bar of soap in the bathroom - very unsanitary!!! There was a pill on the tray where the wine glasses and bottle of wine was - very dangerous!! What if a child had gotten hold of that?!?! A group of us wanted to go to the bar and have a drink but were told we had to pay a $12 cover charge because it was salsa night. We had no intention of salsa dancing, just wanted to chat over a drink. To top it off, they decided that putting up scaffolding right outside our room at 6:47 am on Monday morning was ok.
Nice pools and spa.
Rooms Lobby Environment Fitness facilities TV only in sitting area of room with separate bedroom
very nice for family food not to expensive, clean nice pool and pool area were not enough outlets in room for recharging phone etc no computor for public use they did say they were getting one and that it was stolen first time I ever heard that at hotel?
It's a nice hotel with all the amenities for either a business or family stay including a nice pool, spa (I've never used) and restaurant. Staff always friendly and it is only 20 min from the Santa Rosa airport
Clean, comfortable bed, easy parking right out the door. It was a Sunday night, which probably helped it be very quiet and the price was excellent..
I enjoy the pool to keep kids busy The check-out time is too early at 11am. If there's an extra hour, it would be great!
We love the feel at the Flamingo! People come there knowing theres good times and relaxation to be had! We all love the romantic history and ambiance. Has a great feel. Rooms are sexy and nice. People are friendly and helpful. Food at terrace grill is delicious. Spa services very luxurious! We are local residents and go frequently just to get away and have fun. Also love the events they put on. Having to leave!
been staying here for 30 years, and have never been disappointed . Very clean, neat, peaceful motel. Its all GREAT!
Centrally located to evertything on our itinerary Microwave and fridge in the room Stale air in the room Neither good norr terrible Average bed Bland decor Needs an upgrade
Nice clean rooms, dated bathrooms. No amenities, it's 2016 get with the times.
It was a great location while traveling along wine country. The bathroom blower made the bathroom extremely hot.
It was a spur of the moment decision to spend a night over 4th of July weekend near to St Helena. Kayak found an available room -- and a great deal -- in Santa Rosa ~45min away. Best Western Garden Inn was very easy to get to being right off Hwy101. The staff was great and worked with me (on 4th of July) on a very late check in. And the room, while no frills, was very clean and the bed very comfortable -- all in all, a good value and great night's sleep. n/a
the staff is lovely. The room was very clean and had plenty of towels, bed was comfortable. It has two swimming pools. Guests tended to 'party' outside their non-smoking rooms so even though my room was non-smoking the neighbors stood outside my door until 2am drinking and chain smoking. They should change the policy to not allow any smoking in the property - the piles of cigarettes and empty beer bottles that were strewn in front of my bedroom door in the morning were disgusting. I've stayed there twice, happened both times.
Updates and heated pool were nice. Chairs in room were very uncomfortable.
Quiet & peaceful environment, even though next to main road. Room was very clean, bed very comfortable Narrow driveway
comfortable beds clean hot rooms during day a/c not effecient no receipt overpriced
I didnt get to stay because of some "HIDDEDN" cost. When I ask to splut the payment I was told I couldnt and when I asked for a manager, they dont have one on the weekends? So I cancelled the reservation.
comfortable rooms good wifi good breakfast I'd stay again for the price I paid
Very clean, nice air conditioning, our room had a patio near the pool, very pleased with this hotel!
Location Rude uncommunicative staff. My AC did not work for 2 days and the desk clerks did Not do anything for 2 days and she was rude to me and nasty Because I complained.
Room was nice and clean, and had everything we needed plus a lovely patio to boot! The staff was very nice and friendly. They even allowed us to stay an extra hour. Loved the mini kitchen as well; nice and stocked.
Bed, roominess, free breakfast, convenient location Nothing
Well located for our needs. Clean and comfortable. Had to walk around the building every day to get our room key recoded to be able to get into our room. One of the clerks didn't even ask for ID or ask questions. Just did it. Did not make feel very secure. The manager told me, " yeah, it happens. Have a nice day."
We'll go back, very nice accommodations. Enjoyed the pool area. Room was tight. Too many furnishings.
two problems we had was that a glass table was broken at the pool during the night and no one was going to be able for a couple of days to clean it up, so the pools was closed to the disappointment of my grand kids. Also as we were checking out there was a two dollar per room charge, we had two rooms, added to our bill which had already been paid to Kayak in full before the tri[p.
Only the breakfast was decent. There was a condom wrapper in our room, they booked us in a smoking room and couldn't switch us, the a/c was crazy loud, and there are homeless people and abandoned shopping carts all around.
Price was decent, location close to freeway Air conditioning was not working, lamps were not working room was not very clean
The second room we tried didn't reek of cigarette smoke. No hot water in the morning sucked. It was also really loud.
I didn't like anything. Room smelled like smoke, they came to spray the room but it didn't help at all. They offered to switch me to a room without a TV, which I wish I would have done because the TV wouldn't turn on. The light in the sink area wouldn't turn on either. The bed was so uncomfortable that I have really bad shoulder pain still after 2 days. Way over priced for what you get, I would not recommend staying here.
Location was ok The AC doesn't work on auto so it's on and freeze or off. It also doesn't take moisture out of the air so the bed seemed damp. The people that stay there were shady, the staff wants more info and IDs than a 4 star hotel, the showers are awful, they don't provide shampoo like other hotels, the small towels feel like sand paper, there is no iron and board in the room and if you want to rent one you need to leave your lisence along with $10 and still no board. Sink for the bathroom is in the bedroom, They need guards at night.
If you're just looking for a place to stay and want to save money, but won't settle for a dump, this is your place. It has everything you need and it looks good. They don't have any fancy touches, but they don't look neglected either. This place is well cared for. Not a honeymoon spot, but definitely a nice place to stay for anyone on the road. See what I liked. It includes what it's not. I have nothing bad to say about this place.
The room (except the bathroom) looked essentially brand new, modern, and particularly nice. Black stone counter by sink, bright colors, wood floors... Bathroom was a bit of a surprise, given how mice the rest of the room was. Toilet might have been newer, but tub was in very bad shape. Looked like it was refinished many years ago and the paint/fiberglass/coating of some sort was peeling off everywhere, and they put two rubber antislip mats in the bottom to cover as much of this peeling stuff as possible, but it still looked pretty bad. But given how mice the rest of the room is, I can only guess that the place is half renovated and the tub will be going soon!
Car alarms were set off periodically throughout my stay and the police were called out once. For what, I have no idea. Not a nice part of Santa Rosa
Clean, comfortable rooms, great food and beverage options, and super welcoming staff made this hotel one I will visit again next time I am in town.
Salad and other produce was fresh. My friend ordered regular black iced tea and they brewed it fresh for her and gave her the extra in a cup to go. Salad was a little tasteless and the salad dressing was extremely thick. The dressing did not easily poor from the small pitcher it was served in. Turkey sausage for breakfast lacked much flavor. Fruit substitution at breakfast was extremely small portion. The cut up fruit was served on the plate in a separate cup and the cup was about half empty.
Facility is nice, clean and staff especially the housekeeping was very friendly and available. Parking, the lot is dark and spaces are far from entrance if the building.
Clean and much cheaper than other hotels in the area. No frills and maybe not the best neighborhood but overall well worth the low price. Staff was efficient and the rooms were decent.
Rooms were very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was generous for the overall price of the room. Pool area was very spacious --
Clean, nice staff.. Uncomfortable beds, bare minimum room it felt a. Bit like a prison cell, breakfast wasn't very good just granola bars coffee and sunny D stuff. It didn't add anything to the trip
Room was clean with convenient amenities; fridge, microwave, etc. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows! I always appreciate a place that doesn't skimp on pillows. Location is decent, close to interstate and walkable (during daylight) from downtown. Although a channel guide is provided by the hotel, the tv could use an update and the wifi did not work. First world problems...
Very clean and felt safe. The owner/manager seems to live on site, which is reassuring. Good amenities (microwave, fridge, hair dryer, ironing board). Free wifi, though it was spotty at times. Free breakfast snacks in the room (various granola bars and juices). Location is convenient to freeway. Downsides, the bedding and curtains were thin and minimal. It was hard to close the curtains all the way, and I wished I had brought a blanket of my own. The walls were also thin. It was easy to hear street noise and neighbors above, even though I kept the fan going all night. Overall a solid choice for the price point. If you want to sleep better, bing earplugs or pay more to go somewhere else.
Clean, good-sized room and bathroom. Full amenities (mini-fridge, microwave, cable, wifi, coffee, iron and board, hair dryer) plus complimentary in-room snacks and juice. Cordial, helpful office staff and attentive housekeeping staff. Near major mall for provisions and eats. On major street (but not noisy) with easy access to nearby downtown. Upgrade from regular door keys to secure card system would be nice.
The staff was great and everything was very clean. The beds are a little weird. I couldn't tell if the dial did anything and they were never explained.
Clean, great staff.
Staff at this hotel treated us like royalty throughout our stay. Our every need was met, and service from check in, to room service, to placing our bags in a new room when we moved to a bigger room on our second night, to the outstanding server at breakfast each day, and to the shuttle driver to the airport was first rate. The rooms were clean, updated and spacious. Parking is ample and the hotel is in a nice area, next to a vineyard. Will absolutely stay next time we are in the area. Only negative was the noisy parents and kids slamming their door on the deadbolt next door to us our first night. The hotel dealt with this effectively as soon as we complained. I have NO complaints about the hotel facilities or staff, which is rare. This place does everything right.
Exhausted arrived at 2AM. Room was nasty. Reeking of Marijuana Smoke. Beds were lumpy. Refused to stay Filed for refund.
The room was clean and the location was great. Screaming adults after midnight. I smelled weed and saw a broken crack pipe on the ground by my car.
Price was right and I just needed a place to sleep. This kind of hotel works for that quite well. If you're road tripping and just need a place to crash, you already know what to do. Internet was not free, and it was very slow. No shampoo. Extremely thin walls (multiple people bad much better time than I did). When checking in, attendant gave me a code for free wifi in exchange for positive review online — not cool.
It is noisy. You can hear the doors close in adjacent rooms. You can hear people talking while walking down the hall.
Rooms large, clean, comfortable. Bed was great. New mattress and soft pillows. Limited choices for breakfast. Exercise room very limited also.
Extremely friendly staff. Breakfast served.
Staff was very nice and hotel was quiet. When we entered our first room, out of habit my husband removes the comforter from the bed because hotels are notorious for not washing them after each guest. Wow! II'm glad he did because there was dried blood all over the bed. We immediately called and got moved. The front desk seemed as shocked as we were and had already alerted management by the time we returned to get our new room key. We were reluctant to stay but it was very late and they upgraded us to a suite. Very nice staff but it was a pretty gross to find the bloody bed. However, that was the only thing wrong with this hotel.
The hotel was very clean inside and out. There were also not many guests at the time of stay, so it was quiet which is always a plus. They served coffee and small breakfast in the morning. The owners of the hotel were very paranoid and a little extreme. When I checked in the owner mentioned to not smoke in the room, which is obvious unless you paid for a smoking room. He then noticed that my boyfriend was smoking outside and reminded me to tell my boyfriend not to smoke in the room. I'm like dude, I'm 30 years old I understand. He then went on to say he wanted to hold a $100 deposit. That's when I got upset because no where on the site did it say that. He then said ok I will not, and only charged me $1. The next day I had things to attend to, so my boyfriend stayed in the hotel until checkout time at 11 am. Room service came at around 9:30am while he was still sleeping and just barged in. For one this is way before check out time and second, KNOCK! 11 am rolled around and I was a bit late to picking him up and the manager called and asked why he wasn't gone, he went to say she is running a bit late it will be another 10 mins. They called 5 mins later asking, then another 5 mins. I thought the hotel wasn't bad if you were paying $65-$70 a night and we paid $90. The owners were a bit ridiculous especially since they didn't have a lot of business in the first place. Overall not a bad stay though.
Simple but covered everything I needed Breakfast was late one day.
Clean and simple room for a good price.
The room was okay but very small. Clean. Shower water pressure was better than most. The Direct TV channel selection was better than most basic cable systems. Place was quiet. Starbucks was next door and the freeway southbound ramp was very close by. First at the rate I expected better. Santa Rosa due to its proximity to the California wine country is fairly pricey. The room was very small and fairly basic. A Motel 6 would have been I presume as adequate but cheaper. The continental breakfast, I believe was advertised to start at 6:30, I went down on Sunday at 7 and found the office dark. (it was open at 7:45 when leaving). Do not expect much other than vacuum carafe coffee, toast and fruit. At least that is what I viewed from the window as I passed by. In short I expected a little better (not much) than basic lodging and what I got was basic 2 star lodging
locating on a parking slot of a commercial center nothing to do with wine country atmosphere basic motel, much too expensive for what it is dont trust images
The stains on the sheets and on the chair.
Very clean, lots of pillow!
Brand new mattresses arrived the same day as we did. Motel was freshly painted inside and out. Best shower of our entire trip.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at reception.
Booked reservation on amona.com on May 5th for a stay on May 20th and they did not have a room for us. Which was pre-paid on May 5th.
