Rating

The Royalton Negril recently opened in 2017 as an upscale, family-friendly, all-inclusive resort with tons of features and a pleasant beachfront setting along Bloody Bay. The Royalton’s affordable rates combined with comfortable accommodations and plenty of amenities make this resort one of the best vacation values.

The hotel sits along the southern section of Bloody Bay, which is a pleasant strip of sand with calm water and a quieter scene than most areas. There's little in the immediate area aside from other resorts, though the Kool Runnings Water Park is only a 14-minute walk or two-minute drive away. For a livelier scene, Seven Mile Beach is a five-minute drive south, where there are lots of restaurants, bars, and jerk shacks. Rick's Cafe, a popular spot for cliff-diving, music, and drinks, is only a 16-minute drive away.

As an all-inclusive resort, most guests spend their days on the beach lounging or engaging in the non-motorized, free water sports or at one of the pools offered on-site. Diamond Club members are offered a private section of the beach, as well as an exclusive ocean-view pool with a swim-up bar. For ultimate pampering, the full-service Royal Spa offers a variety of treatments. Diamond members also receive luxurious benefits at the spa. Fun aquafit classes, sunrise yoga, and kickboxing are popular at the on-site fitness facilities. Meeting and event space is also available for business and pleasure.

Lots of restaurants on-site include several themed eateries, a steakhouse, teppanyaki spot, and Italian eatery, plus there are several bars, but top-shelf liquor is only free for Diamond Club members. The 407 rooms at the resort are fresh and spacious, equipped with jetted tubs, outdoor spaces, free WiFi, and coffeemakers.

We paid for 2 swim out suites but weren’t able to use room pools due to mildew in pool. Room cabinets doors were broken had to call maintenance to fix doors and empty bath tub it would not drain. Room refrigerator drinks were not stocked had to call front desk. Pros (+) Absolutely amazing location and the most accommodating staff. Everyone went above and beyond to assist and make sure that we had everything we needed. Would love to go back.
Cons (-) Food quality is rather poor. And not a lot of Jamaican cousins.

Pros (+) The hideaway restaurant, Dorado, was fantastic. The Chilean sea bass was what you would expect at a top-tier restaurant. The service was classy and respectable. Overall the resorts decor and design was very classy and well-appointed. We had a couples massage that was worth every penny!
Cons (-) This resort is not for those looking for a quiet romantic getaway. The pool is always loud with a member of the hotel’s “Vibe team” creating some activity, work out, or game.
