Comfort of beds, nice pool Staff was friendly for the most part but I didn't get that family oriented feeling like I've had in other hotels in Jamaica. Doors in rooms were dirty, door to balcony would not shut properly and locked from the outside - staff had to come in and change the door knobs as they were put on the wrong way, mirror in bathroom was put on wall in an odd place - hard to look in mirror, poor lighting in room when you are trying to get ready, breakfast meal is not worth the money of $11 daily. There were not many food options and they give you very little food. Seemed like the food staff people in the morning serving the food were always in a bad mood. The ladies walking around in the restaurant were very nice and friendly. Had dinner there twice and was definitely NOT impressed! We were only given one room key which is a pain if you are sharing a room with more that one person. The beach is tiny and very hard to find any shade - too hard to shield from the sun. A taxi guy sitting in the hotel lobby tried to charge us more than double the fare to go down the road! Over all Traveller's is an OK place to stay but I won't be back.
Good beach location, not far from good restaurants and town of Negril. Staff was very good. Loud most times, loud music, loud people in halls, Wish rooms had sliding windows. Had to use ear plugs to sleep at night. Bed uncomfortable
Just returned from a visit 4/1-4/6/17 and were thoroughly impressed with the resort. Food was way better than other resorts, and the grounds are spread out enough that it never felt crowded. Always was able to find a beach chair in the shade, even when we got to the beach at 11 am. Always found a seat at one of the bars, hardly waited for drinks. Staff is friendly and helpful. Had the atrium suite and didn't miss the tv at all. Beach is raked every night and the grounds are meticulously kept. Already planning to go back! Food at the cabana and sea grape took a little long to get. I can't even believe I'm complaining about this.
This is one of the best resorts I've ever been in. The food was delicious, the alcohol was yummy & unlimited, the staff was great & very friendly, and the experiences unforgettable. This is a great resort for couples. My husband and I celebrated our birthdays and honeymoon. The staff made all of these occasions unforgettable. We especially liked the free tennis lessons, snorkeling, catamaran ride, piano bar, beach party and day and night events (music bands, bonfire, mixology class, couple massage class, etc). The only major issue we had was with the plumbing in our room, especially with the toilet, but it was fixed immediately.
No warning about severe jellyfish problem ( many sting one severe). Don't get injured Nurse is a cold fish,, you basically get no medical service, but you will get a bill. I was injured on one of the hotels watersport sponsored activities and I was told by two mgs. that I signed a waiver. Thanks a lot. Management argumentative with no compassion.
Food Allergen Friendly. Great chef and meals!!!!!!
We recently stayed for 1 week with 2 small children. The workers at the resort are very friendly and always say hello and make you feel welcome so if there's an area that is really good, that's it. The beach is also terrific and there are plenty of chairs at the beach. The activities and food are another story. We went because of the children's activities but the hours operated weren't given much thought. They post from 10 to 5 for the water park which is the primary fun for the kids. What do you do with kids that get up at 6???? At the very least it could be open at 9 and close at 6, well before it gets dark! To make matters worse, the last day we were there the kids wanted 1 last dip in the 'Lazy River'. We had to get a shower and dressed at 10:30, so like they always say, No problem. BUT - they did not open until almost 10:30 and the kids were broken hearted. We spoke to 5 different workers from 10 to 10:30 and all they could say was 'it's a maintainance problem'. Nonsense - they were just late like most of the other activities they schedule. It was not uncommon to have 30 minute or more delays for the start of things. Not only that, there were not enough life jackets for the water park and people were waiting for others to get out of the water to get a life jacket - totally unacceptable. One also gets the feeling of beng sold almost every minute of the day. For an 'all inclusive' I found it offensive to have nuts in the room with a sign they were $* They also push pictures and the prices were exhorbitant.
Awesome resort!!!!!!!!! My daughter was just married at Beaches Negril. It was truly the most beautiful wedding and the wedding planning staff was excellent. The wedding party consisted of over 40 people there for a week. We enjoyed all the watersports and swim up bars. Children were entertained everyday. What a wonderful place for families.
I am 11 years old and my and my family went to Jamaica's beaches in August of 2009. It was the best vacation I have ever been on. There are no words in the dictionary that can describe the staff members at beaches. The food was great! There were buffets at certain times. There are several different 5 star restaurants al throughout this resort and of all types of food. The rooms where clean and organized. The activities where the best. Water sports, slides, pools, ocean, parasailing, kids camp( which was the funnest thing ive ever joined) Everything! Bathrooms were clean and maintained that way. We would absolutely go again no doubt about that!
The Beaches in Negril was better than expected. I read all the reviews about run down facilities and rude staff but encountered neither. The resort was beautiful. The grounds were kept in great shape and were well maintained. The staff was very friendly and couldn't do more for you. Our party consisted of myself, my wife and two children ages 6 and 3 with my inlaws coming the day after us. The six of us found plenty to do or not do depending on your mood. The pools and beaches were great, always an abundance of towels despite what I read in other reviews. The water slide was my 6 yr olds favorite and there is a 48' min height requirement (which is on the website I might add). The water sports staff was extremely helpful, my wife actually learned to water ski while we were there. The x-box garage was another favorite for my two boys, was a great way to let them wind down from the day. The food was above average with many many choices at the buffets, the Sevillle Italian restaurant was really really good (service a little slow with food but wine glass stayed full). The Kimono restaurant got good reviews from my Inlaws as I did not eat there but they were impressed. I would suggest upgrading to a concierge level suite, we had wine and cheese plates delivered to our room every night. Its a service only provided with concierge level suites and its not only for wine and cheese but for anything else u might need and they are EXTREMELY helpful with all your needs. All in all a great trip.
We had an AMAZING vacation!!! We have 3 children- 4, 6, and 9 months. The children LOVED the kids club and WANTED to go to dinner with the kids club the last 2 nights than go to dinner with us. Everyone treated our baby like their own. She was the youngest at the kids club during our stay so she received so much attention. WE LOVED all the Nannys at the kids club. I really can't say enough about how caring they were towards the kids, especially the baby. It was the best of 2 worlds - a wonderful FAMILY vacation but 2 hours a day for just my husband and I, yet they were just steps away from us the whole time! We like that it was small, but not too small, because the kids club, pool, and beach were steps away. There was so much to do for adults and children of ALL ages that we possibly could not do it all. The service at the restaurants was not the best, BUT everything else made up for it. The bugs did seem to bother a few people (including my husband) but the rest of us were fine! We can't wait to go back.. FYI-the waiting room for the bus at the airport is AMAZING!!!!
Nice resort, good food and drinks, friendly staff. Alot of families and children, so if you are looking for a more quiet or private setting choose a different resort.
I just got back from a trip to this resort and have not stopped talking about it since i've been home. The people/staff members were great with everyone. The food was alright, but always available. The room was nice, we also got the upgrade for the ocean view room and it was very nice. I saw that a lot of the reviews stated the kids were all over however i'm 23 years old and had a blast without being bothered by kids. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! I am already trying to plan my next trip here. Its all what you make of the trip!!
I WENT LAST SUMMER IT WAS OK STAFF WAS WONDERFUL FOOD WAS OK ROOMS WAS OK IM A FAMILY OF 4 AND THE BED WAS TO SMALL FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND THIS YEAR WE WENT TO BEACHES IN TURKS AND CAICOUS OMG IT WAS SO GREAT OUT OF ALL THE PLACES I BEEN TURKS BEACHES IS THE THE BEST 100% IM BEGGING MY HUSBAND TO TAKE ME NEXT SUMMER IT IS AWSOME AWSOME THEY HAVE FOOD TO CHOOSE FROM 16 RESTURANTS CANT WAIT TO GO I LOVE BEACHES IN TURKS...
We went for the 5 day 4 night trip. It was an Great trip all around. We had fun everyday and there was so much stuff for us to do that we wish we would have stayed for the week. We cant wait to go back. We were in the cheepist room and the room felt like the top noch room, it was a beatiful room all around and we were not looking at the water our room faced the spa and it was just great to walk out on our belcony and listen to the birds and look at the amazing surroundings that jamaica has. i hope you take your family there its great for kids all ages and greatt for adults also. = )
Love the resort, Love the staff! Everyone working there seemed to be happy to be working there and happy to help with anything we needed! It was clean and easy to enjoy all that the resort had to offer! The food wasn't super but it was good! From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were treated fabulously and can't wait to go back!
no kids is huge beach is spectacular very helpful and cheerful staff, well trained, right down to room maids security presence maintains safety great weather every day surprisingly good on-site medical care my wife loved the food, but i'm not a foodie, and it was hard to find simple food to eat -- skipped half the meals the resort felt small by the end all inclusive watersports doesn't include the fun stuff (parasail, tubing, jet ski, etc) not much to do in the evenings -- the resort "activities" are lame and loud (kareoke, 80s night, etc)
Our room was very comfortable, the food choices were plentiful and wifi better than expected. Nighttime activities could of been more varied. It was a bit quiet after dinner.
After comparing many resorts, we chose to go with Couples Negril because of its reviews on the quality and service. It was also our first time at an adults only resort. Our experiences was even better than what we expected! Food was delicious, the resort was well decorated and romantic, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was perfect for a couple's much needed getaway.
The beach is very nice and close to all rooms. The pool is very nice as well and even closer. Drinks are free and very good. Red Stripe only except in the piano bar which served Heineken as well. Rooms are NOT beach front as advertised, but rather beach view as the buildings are perpendicular to the beach.
good location, rooms continental bfast (included on daily price) was 4 cold toasts two pieces of butter and jelly and thats all! reception staff extremely slow and not helpful with tourist info, room was not available upon check in, when asked how could i join a sailboat cruise the recepcionist simply stated "i dont know"..restaurant service was very poor and unfortunately the beer was never cold enough... thats it. not a good experience for the price ($300 a night!)
the location was great! Right on the beach in the heart of Negril's 7-mile beach. There is a place to rent bikes/scooters right across the street and there are tons of restaurants within walking distance. unfortunately, the staff was really bad. Very poor customer service, not friendly, and at times down-right rude. It really detracted from our stay and we would not return to this resort as a result. We would try one of the dozens of other hotels nearby, which are comparable in cost.
Relatively new property. Modern amenities. Large room. Big balcony. Renovated. Great beach bar Restaurant was great! Personalized welcome. Great location on 7 mile. Room could use more cleaning (floorboards and walls in our room needed a bit of love). Still not nearly as bad as other properties we've stayed in Negril. However, as a "luxury boutique" a few cleanliness matters should be addressed (at least for room 232.) "Oceanview" was just a partial view of the ocean. This could be better explained in the description. I booked "superior oceanview" not "superior *partial* oceanview."
I attended a wedding at this hotel knowing the wedding guests were required to pay a $70.00 fee if they came early and intended to have free roaming privileges 2 hours before and until the end of the wedding but assuming if not, the fee was not required. I reviewed the website the day after the wedding and saw the FAQ for weddings at this hotel included this: Is there a cost for guests not staying on property, to attend the ceremony? We wish to advise you that as our valued in-house wedding guests, your non-residential guests attending your wedding may arrive at the resort thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of your wedding ceremony. We require that they stay within the immediate area of the wedding at all times. As a policy, only resident guests are allowed on the guest floors. We do ask that that they come to the resort already dressed for your wedding however, should any of your guests wish to change for the wedding, the resort offers a hospitality area for that purpose. Should guests opt to take advantage of the all-inclusive package, they may do so by purchasing a day pass of US$70.00 per adult and US$35.00 per child (3 – 12 years old). This policy as it relates to your non- resident guests is strictly enforced. Therefore we do ask that this be clearly communicated to your guests prior to their arrival on property. We investigated how we could dress for the wedding if we came and used the pool and surroundings and were told there was no place to dress even though the web site states there is and we decided that we would just attend the wedding and reception and not pay the fee since we didn't intend to use the facilities as there was no place to dress and we were in a hotel 30 seconds down the road by car (i timed it). We arrived just in time for the wedding (most of us with little cash and no credit card) with 4 other guests who also had not paid and we were all refused entry to the wedding unless the fee was paid. What did the hotel wedding planner ...
Sunset is a great place to stay. Randy 'John Wayne' Taxi out front is the way to go. We upgraded to the two story suite and it was worth every dollar. Only downside is the beach is across the street and they do not have Red Stripe in the room. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous. Sunsets at the beach are amazing.
My husband and I stayed here 2 years ago. We were looking for a quiet get away and that is what we got. There was not a ton of entertainment at night but the bartenders made it fun! (stay away from the Bob Marley shots) Garth was the best bartender and look for 'John Wayne' outside by the road, he was the cab driver we used all week, if you go here, tell them Mark and Holli from Texas said Hi!
Great food! The most wonderful staff! Everything you look for in a romantic vacation spot!
My husband and I just got back from a week at the sunset. It was very beautiful. A small resort compared to the ones we've been to before...which we liked. If I had to say anything negative at all it would just be our room and the fact that they only have 2 restaurants. Our room was nice and was at a good location, but our shower didn't drain and our air didn't work until the end of our trip. We did tell the front desk and our air was fixed but not the shower, it needed more detail work. I'm sure we could of switched rooms but we didn't. We stayed in 412. We LOVEJamaica. Everyone is so friendly. The beach was great even tho it was across the street. Very beautiful grounds. Defiantly worth the trip.
The room that we stayed in two months ago was definitely much better. It had a beautiful set up with LED lighting, a rain shower and all upgraded amenities including a balcony. The room this time was outdated big time. Although it still served it's purpose as we didn't spend too much time in the room. We still appreciated the updated room much more. All in all. We LOVE Hedonism and hope to travel back here again. This was our second trip here within three months. The staff was outstanding.
Hedo II is located in Negril. Love the location and the beach. Nude beach is very relaxing. Great employees - excellent customer service.Very Friendly to everyone. Breakfast is the best meal of the day. Good alcohol selection. Week we were there was pretty mellow for the place. Probably 1/2 full, but still fun. No official Lifestyle groups were there, but plenty of people still having sex right in front of you, If that bothers you, then this is not the place for you. I am not in the Lifestyle and was not offended. They are friendly but not pushy. I have been there several times and will go back again. My husband and I enjoy it. Facilities are not the most modern and food is passable at best for the most part. If you are looking for a 5 star place, this is not it. People don't go to Hedo for the facilities. Jamaica is a hassle to get in and out of. Long lines at the airport coming and going. Expect to spend 2-3 hours at the airport.each way.
Been there 8 times and it is getting better with the new management. Entertainment has really stepped up. Not for everyone. Hot water didn't last during premium shower times on prude side.
The entertainment selections are always a plus. You can tell there have been upgrades to the food. The fitness activities available were also a positive. Some of the rooms still have issues and the room I stayed in was dated save for an upgraded television. Basically my room hasn't changed since my first trip in 2005.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast options were very limited. However, the food that was served waas very good.
Amazing beach, great free breakfast, staff was amazing. Our room had a fridge/stove/microwave (many don't) and that was great. Big room, comfy bed, giant shower. To get the (excellent) free breakfast and beach towels/lounge chairs, you have to wear an armband your whole stay - which makes you stand out as a tourist if you like venturing to town or off the beaten path. I felt like this made us a bigger target for locals who want to hassle you/sell you something/ask for money. So there's certainly a big trade off there.
tHIS IS OUR FOURTH STAY AND IT ONLY GETS BETTER. yOGA ON A PADDLEBOARD. jAMAICANS ARE THE BEST AND THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY jAMAICA IS STAYING AT THE tREEHOUSE. Very relaxing.
Treehouse resort has it all! I would surely stay there again. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts full of options/ jamaican dishes, a very comfortable (albeit small) well-equipped room- and to my delight- an outdoor rope chair for each room. The bed was quite cozy and the room A/C as frigid as you'd want to make it! I thought I would be disappointed with a "garden view" room opposed to ocean view- but the garden and grounds are so lovely and well kept, it was like being in the jungle right next to the beach! I especially loved waking up to groomed sand and well-kept beach loungers that are set out each morning. The staff were friendly and not overbearing, however it is diffucult sometimes to know who actually works there vs. who "says" they work there... I am not a well seasoned international traveler, with this being my first trip out of the US. Admittedly, it took me many days to acclimate to the Jamaican way of "sales". I am used to approaching someone/a business for a service when I'm interested in it, but here, as with all other places I visited in Negril, the service providers chronically approached me and I needed to interact and politely decline, each day. This went for taxi, massage services, the restaurant, the gift shop, etc.
Breakfast was included in the price which was nice. We ate one evening meal at the treehouse and thought the food was fair
I liked the breakfast, the grounds are well maintained, staff are pleasant, resort is sizable, some amenities and activities are free including yoga and paddle boarding. Location is at the far end of the beach before the all inclusives start, so a little quieter than mid-beach. I didn't like that Kayak.com did not allow any space to enter a preference about the room I wanted. Kayak.com needs to have a note space to enter requests/preferences about a reservation. I called Kayak.com afterwards to note the request on my reservation but (surprise!) the request was never received by the hotel. This was the second time but also the last time that I book with Kayak.
I liked the Tree House because of the great customer service as well as the great beach front location.
atmosphere, comfort, ease of access to the beaches and the relaxing, calming attitude of every body I found that the $ll.00 per day along with the $9.08 a day rather much, as patrons are expected to tip the staff (who more than earn the tips)
Tree House is a lovely place on the most beautiful beach in Jamaica. The staff is welcoming and kind, without being pandering. The rooms clean and adequate. I loved the fact that the place is not all-inclusive. There are taxis always available and we had fantastic meals in Negril. Also, this is the best value on the island.
Suite was very hot. Bedroom was hot the first night but the a/c cooled it down enough the rest of the time. Shower water pressure was terrible, hard to wash soap out. Didn't want to deal with changing rooms though. Overall everything was great though.
the staff at white sands is really what always makes my stay an absolute pleasure. Extremely accommodating and friendly.... tony and Paul down at the bar are great and keep the red stripe nice and cold. Beautiful beachfront lounging, clean and comfortable rooms and great overall experience
Love Ella at the front desk, majority of the staff were friendly. One part of the hotel on the beach the other side is not. Twin beds in rooms with air conditioning, micro fridge and hot water. There are no televisions in the rooms. Excellent wifi strength throughout the entire property. Bed and linen was clean and comfortable. Worth the cost of the stay. The cafe on site was not good and the staff was not certain on the currency exchange rates and could've been more manner able. Older property but kept nicely. Warm-hot water in bathroom but pressure varied. No form of entertainment on site. Security was not always present on both sides or property.
