The Borough Arms Hotel and Restaurant is one of the oldest established hotels in the Newcastle-Under-Lyme and Stoke-On-Trent areas, with history dating back to 1783. The hotel is very much of the style associated with a traditional English town centre coaching inn, yet has been sensitively and subtly refined to offer the comfort and modern standards demanded by today s visitors. Close to the centre of the historic borough of Newcastle, The Borough Arms Hotel is convenient for both business and leisure visits to many local attractions, including Alton Towers, the English Peak District, the Staffordshire Potteries, Stoke on Trent, the Staffordshire Moorlands, Cheshire and Derbyshire.Independently owned and managed, the hotel retains many period features and takes great pride in offering a very personal service. As a valued guest, you may be confident that we will do our utmost to ensure your comfort.
£4 per hour for internet and only available in bar/took 1 hour to connect. No shampoo or hairdryer in room. Lights not working. Parking not available until 21.30 as priority given to function not guests.
room very small and in poor state, bed so uncomfortable, bathroom and shower cubicule grubby, curtains did not match and were hanging off.
Location not far from Keele University, enough free parking space, friendly staff (especially at breakfast!). Bed was good.
Bathroom dated and not very clean, small shower, no shampoo. Bedroom a bit stuffy, blankets old and inadequate.Had to go up and down quite a few flights of stairs. Not the best value for money.
hated the back ground music played at breakfast times in the dining room
We found the car parking most convenient.Although given a double room, not a twin as ordered, this was soon sorted.
Breakfast was g8
The heating was pooor and the bed were really small and we also had problem with the hot water
Larger room than they had guaranteed. Quiet, clean, good facilities.
That the rooms are appart from the maenbuilding
The hotel is sadly enough located in a poor neighbourhood
Very basic room,
I only slept in the room so cannot comment
The room and bedlinen smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, which as a non smoker was quite unpleasant
