Pros: Great breakfast (including Nutella), very nice staff
Pros: The warmth and integrity of our host, Azisi and his housekeeper Nam. We were given an insight into the real Arusha. The African night at the bar and the dancing, our trips organised to see beyond tourism. We highly recommend staying at Mambo, good food, good company and a safe and very memorable time at an affordable price. Go there!
Pros: Neat and comfortable hostel. Clean common showers. Has a small kitchen, where you can use yourself. Had a very short stay, but staff were very nice and helpful with arranging early airport transfer.
Cons: Be careful with shower faucet, if not careful you can get scalding hot water.
Pros: I've been to a few hostels in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand but this place was without a doubt one of the nicest hostels I have seen. Very cosy & chilled vibes, very very clean, the manager was lovely - she even cooks homemade meals all day. And she was helping a lot with taxi, when I needed to go to the doctor I could use her phone etc. I booked a single room for myself as I was coming from a safari and wanted some comfort but I had a look at the dorms and even they are absolutely comfortable and cosy. 10 out of 10 for everything!!!
Pros: Great breakfast. Lovely hammock with a view of Mt Meru. Nam is a super hostess.
Pros: The property was superb , We got to stay at their other Property , MAMBO HIDE AWAY Arusha which to be honest is the place to stay while in Arusha hands down , Superb host and a very relaxed vibe which is just great. Amazing food which the most perfect chef and ohh and you can choose your own meal to be prepared. Privacy is guaranteed. Awesome music at their garden which is a great place to unwind . It’s just the perfect place to escape to. I am definitely returning there
Cons: NOTHING !!!
Pros: This hostel was the best thing that happened to me in my whole trip! Starting with a short conversation with one of the stuff crew, I finished with painting my art on the wall of a new hostel. I've never met a better team, and we became really good friends! Azizi was extremely helpful and welcoming and even took me out to the best parties in town! I loved everything so much, that even stayed 2 nights more. Guys, thank you so much, you made me fall in love with Tanzania and Tanzanian people! Would definitely come again!

Pros: This place and its atmosphere are amazing. Nice and relaxed, cozy garden surrounded by banana trees. With a bonfire at night when it gets chilly. Please join the farm tour (daily) to learn more about how this sustainable hostel was established, a super interesting story! Veronica makes the best breakfast and dinner, and bananachips, yummie. And don’t forget Puma, the lovely housecat! If you can: stay here!
Cons: I loved it, because Arusha is a very noisy and busy town, but be aware that you are a car ride of 20 minutes away from the city. Most of the rooms are small and simple, so it’s good to know that upfront.
Pros: This place is amazing. Veronica is taking care of you like your mom with very delicious food! The tour on the farm with Godwin was so inspiring. The atmosphere is relax. Also other tours can be arranged perfectly with the owners.
Pros: Nice welcome from the host and great breakfast. nice farm with animals
Pros: Such a beautful place to stay. Would loved to stay longer!! Super friendly people and a fair taxi price (compared the others) :) We definity recommend,
Pros: We had great time staying at the Banana farmhouse. The place is clean, the staff is really pleasant and ready to help you. Everybody is very flexible so you can even stay a bit longer in the room after the check-out time. They will help you arrange the transport to the city and airport. Goodwin, the owner, is so dedicated to the farm and his guests, he is also a very smart and accomplished guy. He takes the time every day to give his guests the tour of the banana farm and among other things explains how to manage a self-sufficient farm running on biogas.
Cons: Everything was great!
Pros: We came to the hostel in a rainy day and it was raining for 2 days. It was dark and humide. We must wait unti the 3rd day when the sun came up to understand why this hostel has so many good reviews on booking. Under the sun, it was a cozy hostel with nice garden. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They made everything to keep your stay comfortable. The dog and the cat are adorable.
Cons: - The humidity in the room when it rains - When walking in the neighbourhood outside the hostel, people keeps staring at you and children ask you for tips.
Pros: Kind staffs, delicious meals, reasonable price, and the safari tour we booked via this hostel was wonderful.

Pros: Cooking was excellent
Cons: Bit far without car
Pros: The care-taker, Eddie is the best kept secret in town. He is just the nicest human being - well organized and makes the best meals ever. We stayed for a very brief period but had a lovely and memorable experience
Pros: So homely, friendly and helpful. Excellent home prepared meals. Home from home with small number of guest rooms, comfortable sitting room with extensive library, patio, tropical garden. Very knowledgeable naturalist/safari American proprietor. Secure, quiet and spacious property. Wonderful birdsong. Resident tortoises, geckos,, chameleons. Windows screened against any insects. Good local tour recommendation
Pros: The property is quiet and peaceful and there is a small but nice and secluded garden. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The whole place has a very cozy feel.
Cons: Considering that the facilities are fairly basic, the price is on the high side. The access road is quite rough and I would not like to attempt it without a 4x4.
Pros: Great and personal service very homely atmosphere felt like staying with family or friends very helpful and informative
Cons: A bit isolated
Pros: We had the most amazing two nights stay at Kaliwa lodge! The property is located just outside Moshi, tucked away in the village, with the most stunning view of Kilimanjaro in the distance from the balcony. I spent a blissful day there reading and doing yoga. The managers Inga and her partner were incredibly helpful, everything from helping me work out last minute flight changes to arranging last minute guides for a day trip. The food was excellent, and I would gladly go back again if I have the chance! Highly recommended as a post safari or hiking destination.
Cons: The only very minor suggestion is to not use bottled water (to be more eco friendly) in the rooms, and I also noticed that the house staff changed my towels even though I had hung them to dry. As well, a heads up that it is cash only would be super helpful :)
Pros: The researchers rest was the perfect place for us to start our family trip. Tucked down a side road, its worth the extra bit of drive, as once you're there the property is incredibly peaceful and quiet. The rooms are cozy and clean, with nice hot showers. The best part of this place though is definitely the staff- Eddie, who is the property manager and also driver/receptionist/cook was so incredibly kind and accommodating to us. He made dinner for us one night, and it was absolutely delicious. Would 100% stay again- incredibly reasonably priced, and you truly feel like you're at home.
Pros: Lovely oasis lovely place! Staff..all of them are wonderful and so kind! I feel very safe and well taken care of! Very quiet place to rest after a climb/safari or just to unwind before flying out... It feels like home!!! Love the pups too..
Cons: Location is ok if you do not plan to wonder off on foot to explore town... Even by car is a way n roads r bad...

Pros: Very nice garden to relax, an oasis in Arusha. The host is friendly and helpful and provides very good tips of where to go to eat and what see around.
Cons: The shower’s water pressure was a bit off (good hot water though). The WiFi was not very good (even for Arusha). There was a tent right in our window I didn’t mind as there were very nice people but I wasn’t expecting it.
Pros: Innocent was such an excellent host, he made us feel completely at home and was very good at helping us arrange a safari. The place itself was very nice with a beatiful garden and a super friendly dog. Steven cooked us some really nice meals at reasonable prices.
Cons: The place is a outside of walking distance to the center so we had to taxi there and back a few times. On the other hand that makes it nice and quiet.
Pros: Friendly, nice staff and garden looked really beautiful.
Cons: The location is far a way from city centre and the road between accommodation and centre is terrible and during the night i didn't feel comfortable.
Pros: Our host was super helpful, we have a delicious dinner there. The rooms were clean and cosy. Also we love Castro! He is the sweetest dogs ever!
Pros: The manager/owner (innocence) is very very kind and helpfull. He will fix anything for you. Our bags didnt arrive (they were in kenya), and he called almost everyone in Kenya and Tanzania untill our bags were in Arusha. Mazzola has a very chill vibe in the house. Steve is the cheff and will make excellent breakfast or dinner if you like. Mazzola is on walking distance from the city center (30min). The neigboorhood is not full of tourists and so it will give you the full Tanzania experience Would totally recommend this place.
Pros: Absolutely everything. If I could give Mazzola House a 12 out of 10 I would! My wife and I have been travelling for 18 months and this is the best place that we have stayed at during our trip. Innocent the owner is an amazing human being. He's the kindest and most helpful person that you will ever meet. We immediately felt at home in his comfortable and tidy house, and he helped us organise a great budget safari. The house is just outside of the city but it is easy to walk to and the neighbours are friendly. The hostel dinner was delicious. Do yourself a favour and stay at Mazzola!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect!
Pros: Super host, open-minded, reliable, gave us good recommendations.
Pros: Staff was fantastic! Innocent and Steven are really nice guys. Innocent helped arranging safari and taxi's. Steven is a good cook. They make you feel very welcome and do their best to welcome you. Room is simple but clean and shower has hot water. Great place to start and finish safari.
Cons: Bit out of the centre and bad road to the Guesthouse, but Just take a taxi and you are fine

Pros: nice garden
Cons: room next to reception and under wooden stairs so amazing noise anyone going up and down and reception noise late at night and early in morning, voices, setting up breakfast etc., hard bed, some traffic noise too
Pros: Super friendly staff, the room was very large and comfortable. The hotel was super clean! Also walking distance to nice restaurants, as the Blue Heron. We had a great stay!
Cons: The food was just not good! I have no idea how this place has such a high rating here! AC in the room was not working properly. When we checked out they told us the credit card reader is not working.
Pros: Location, overall cleanliness, well maintained garden premises, friendly staff
Cons: Lighting in the room can be improved
Pros: Staff is very pleasant, welcoming and professional, rooms are clean and characteristic. A good start for a Safari, recommended
Pros: Design / location really boutique hotel style People and food amazing
Pros: The room was really good with possibly the best bathroom we had while in Tanzania. The grounds of the hotel are quiet and it nice sitting out in the garden
Cons: The food in the restaurant was a bit meh
Pros: Excellent staff, spotlessly clean and wonderfully designed superior rooms, beautiful grounds, amazing breakfast.
Pros: Great place! Very clean. Good hot shower with good toiletries. Very good and helpful staff. Big comfortable bed and room.
Cons: Maintenance - mainly lights that don't work

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Food was great
Cons: Price is on the high side
Pros: Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The food was very good and the breakfast buffet outstanding. Room and bathroom were large, clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this Hitel without any reservations.
Cons: The bed was firm. My wife and I favor either a memory foam or a pillow top mattress.
Cons: Service was really ignorant and almost rude. No smile on anyone’s face except for one counter guy. Compare to all other places in Africa, this place should seriously improve at least their staff friendliness and attitude of service
Pros: Facilities were modern, and room was clean.
Cons: By far the most disappointing accommodation that we stayed in during our trip. Front staff we dealt with were extremely rude, room reservations were wrong, restaurant food was very disappointing, and we were unable to sleep - the hotel is VERY loud throughout the night. Loud music playing throughout the hotel until 10pm (couldn't even hear the tv), and then could hear all conversations from the hotel bar and reception area throughout the night. Called the lobby and went downstairs to bar area two times during the night, but noise continued until at least 3am and then began again around 6am as early checkouts started. If you plan on staying up partying then this location is fine, but if you are looking for a relaxing accommodation and a good nights sleep then avoid this hotel at all costs.
Cons: Check out timing Bad smell in toilet No varieties in breakfast
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful every where on the premise.
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Buffet style with lots of variety.

Cons: No shadow places with comfortable chairs! My back still hurt after several days at home. They did not accept creditcards as they claimed the terminal did not function. Had to be followed to ATM to withdraw Tanzanian shilling. I will never return!
Pros: Breakfast was good and the location is good when leaving JRO.
Cons: No coffee, hot water maker in the room.
Pros: The cottage 2 we stayed in was beautiful and spacious. It had its own deck overlooking a natural environment. The grounds are beautiful with monkeys playing around . The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent.
Cons: That we could not stay longer to enjoy it more.
Pros: Very helpful friendly staff in a beautiful location
Pros: The room was very nice and it was lovely to walk around the grounds. The dinner at the hotel was good. The only problem we had was the bathtub and shower drained very slowly. The staff attempted to fix the problem while we were at dinner, but it was not resolved. It ended up not being a significant issue, but I felt I needed to note it as it was the only detractor from our experience.

Pros: This hotel was perfect for our stay. We had a day to kill between activities and just used it as a chill out zone. They had a lovely pool and nice lunch and dinner facilities. The rooms were lovely too with nice paths to walk along
Cons: Nothing major but when we were checking out they asked us to pay for the room. I had already paid in full when I booked with booking.com. Luckily I had proof as i’d printed off the email from booking.com, if I hadn’t not sure what would have happened...
Pros: The bungalows were very spacious, pretty and clean. The property is beatifully located and well maintained. Staff is very friendly and make sure you are enjoying your stay. The girl from the reception even helped us arrange a 6 day safari and made sure we got a great deal!
Cons: Food and drinks were quite expensive (though the food was tasty).
Pros: Nice secluded location but not far from the city. Food, coffee, view were great. Staff very friendly, especially Frances.
Pros: Really nice place. It’s located a bit outside the town. But If you are looking for a quite spot surrounded by a lot of green with a beautiful view, it’s is perfect. The staff is also really friendly and helps you planing your trip or transfer.
Cons: It would be nice to have more fresh fruits for breakfast and local food on the dinner menu. But this is just the cherry on the top.
Pros: Very nice and spacious rooms Excellent breakfast Very good dinner Swimming pool with good views Good for relaxing
Cons: Wi-Fi only available at reception and bar

Pros: I was really enjoyed stay in the hotel. Good breakfast, very nice staff.
Cons: Little bit dark in the room
Pros: Very nice garden, very nice athmospher
Cons: At showers water is running very slow
Pros: Welcoming staff. Nice garden and pool area.
Cons: Buffet was nice with a good selection of dishes even for a vegetarian but the main menu offered limited choices.
Pros: The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good
Cons: The wifi was bad.. kept dropping
Pros: Very nice people. Fantastic views of Mount Meru if you are on the correct side of the hotel.
Cons: There is not one single quiet location in the whole hotel. It's noisy, chaotic, uncared for. I do a lot of travelling, and aside from security in my room, I need (a) good wifi (when in a city), and (b) quiet for sleeping. My first room was quiet but no wifi. The second had good wifi, but was very noisy. The fitness facilities are not just laughable; they are dangerous. A bunch of ancient and unmaintained machines have been squeezed into a small room, and most of the stuff does not work. The single treadmill is a joke. The weight machines should be condemned. I passed by the Gen'l Manager's office every day on the way to the "gym" and the same set of dirty plates was outside the office for 24 hours. He (and it is a "he" of course) just left them there: that's indicative of the standard of the hotel. The food, generally, is not good; nothing that is fresh-tasting, with the exception of the Greek salad, which I survived on. Pizza is not good. Weekends are horrendously busy with locals.
Cons: Internet in the rooms was horrendous. WiFi password process is not user friendly... Expires after 24 hours. The "gym" is a joke!!!!! Especially for a hotel of that size. The facilities need refurbishment if the hotel is to survive!
Pros: Magnificent view from my room (very refreshing), comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and perfect location . Staff were also very helpful and friendly.
Cons: The intermittent WiFi and having to always re-log-in whenever I returned to the hotel. Also the bathroom flooding after every shower.
With a stay at Sinzia Villas in Arusha, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Arusha Stadium and Arusha International Conference Centre. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Jay and his family were very welcoming, and even made us a delicious dinner when we got in from the airport at 10pm! His home is a hidden gem in Arusha, we stayed there for a night before leaving for our safari. We stayed in the room with two bunk beds, the largest and most comfortable bunk beds I’ve ever slept in!
Pros: From deep down my heart, Jay - the host, deserves a 7 star! That says enough
Pros: Clean, nice staff, safe and secure.
Cons: The place didnt have a sign. To enter you need to knock on the gate. Location.
Pros: nice breakfast, far too much to eat it all, not every day the same. rooms are clean, good beds. If you like you can also eat have dinner (extended at a reasonable price)
Pros: A converted house to B&B, we were the only guests during our stays at Sinzia Villas (we stayed before and after climbing). Finding it requires asking around--it's not obvious from the street. But, once found, it was exactly what we needed: It is well-priced, super clean, and the owner, Jay, and staff are very helpful and attentive. We ate SO well and had great dinners ($7 pp) and big breakfasts (included) every night and morning, respectively. Jay also stored some bags for us, which helped us out a lot. Please note, it is about a $5 cab ride to Arusha city center.
Cons: While absolutely functional (and particularly glorious after climbing), I would say that the bathroom in our room was a bit of a work-in-progress--it's missing a toilet seat and mirror. The shower is also a bit of trickle.
Pros: It’s a very clean and comfortable Guesthouse with extremely friendly staff. Jamal is very caring and super friendly. The breakfast was superb!
Cons: The outside area is quite small, but all clean and nice.
Pros: Staff was very welcoming.
Cons: Hidden location.
Pros: The serene and quite environment which is homely
Cons: No TV
Pros: We chose this place as it was walking distance from our car rental but this was much better than expected. It was spotlessly clean, very safe and quiet and the breakfast was amazing. The host couldn’t be more helpful and he’s super knowledgable on the park visits which is a blessing when you are travelling independently.
Cons: No sign on the door so it took a while to find. This is to keep off unwanted callers so fair enough as this is what makes the place so safe and peaceful.
Pros: Very clean, comfortable, friendly, excellent food, would stay there again.
Pros: People are very Nice and helpfull Good bed

Pros: The atmosphere, staffs' hospitality, facility and food are incredible.
Cons: Nothing special but as others also said, the location is far from Arusha and that's why this venue can bring a special time to guests. Hope this accommodation can add more signages on the way to avoid lost.
Pros: The location is breathtaking, you can lie in the hammock outside and watch a sky full of stars and the sunrise over Mount Meru. The bed is extremely comfortable. The staff is very friendly, especially the nice woman that cooks and brings your meals right to your terrace.
Pros: Excellent Food, great support guide Remtula who is working from the Nature home site
Cons: Difficult to find
Pros: The place is amazing ! Would definitely come back despite how difficult the roads are to be there.
Pros: The location close to Arusha NP. The closeness to nature and the community.
Pros: I liked the view, the food was nice and the care we had from stuff.
Pros: The perfect view. very halpful and friendle staff. It`s not tipical hotel but place is like country house. It`s a few houses near local village. In the village there is a bast place for having lunch; under huge tree, with Kilimanjaro view (tasty and cheep meal). The house is cosy. There is no any noise, very calm place! good wifi
Cons: You can have many troubes with road to hotel: for fast way you should pay Arusha park fees, Transfer which is provided by hotel costs approximatly 100 dollars one way and requires 1-1.5 hour. Taxi drivers don`t know the right way!! First time our trip took 4 hour!!! Be careful: arter airport you should go to the right (road to Moshi) or if you go at direction to Arusha, you sholg go througt it and after that tirn right! There is a third way to hotel: turn right before Arusha. Dont`t choose this way! The road is awful! It consists of potholes only!! Safari tours are a little bit expensive

Featured amenities include luggage storage, laundry facilities, and a library. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Views at the beer garden were nice. Quiet hotel location.
Cons: It was a bit complicated to communicate with staff in english. Breakfast was slow and not exceptionaly good. They could not offer any tours at hotel, had to get a taxi to go to tourist center. Pricey beer at the garder bar. Had no mosquito net, but had a can of bug spray at the room.
Pros: The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and dinner in the hotel restaurant was great! We sat outside on the patio by candle light, which was lovely. This is a family-run hotel, so expect to wait a bit for your food to be prepared, but it is well worth the wait. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was upgraded, so we had lots of space and the bed was so comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
Pros: Location is very peaceful. Hotel was nicely decorated. Food in the restaurant was excellent!
Cons: Staff was doing what they had to do. Breakfast was supposed to be at 6h30. But wasn't ready. We had to leave at 7 and we told them the night before.
Pros: Dinner was good, homemade food, tasty!
Cons: Our room was humid and the bed sheets and towels were not clean - we could see dirt stains in everything!! The shower was good, but the water accumulated on the floor in one second and took ages to drain.. Our room was really noisy. We didn’t have a good experience, unfortunately..
Cons: I think they should furnish the rooms properly with more decorative finish.

Cons: The Slum surrounding the hostel and the road to the hostel was bad
Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: There was a power shortage so we had to take a cold shower. We were there for one night so I can’t say a lot
Cons: The mosquito net! I was not able to put it correctly on the bed (and I was not the only one haha) so I did not use it. But it was also not necessary so no problem.
Pros: Very helpful staff, it was very uncomplicated and we felt welcome.
Pros: A very good standard for reasonably priced accommodation. The food that was provided was freshly prepared, simple and tasty. The common areas are welcoming and utilised well by guests.
Pros: Everything was good and the food delicious ☺
Pros: The beds and bathroom were sufficient and it was on the Riverside Shuttle bus pickup route.
Cons: The staff did not give a warm welcome on our arrival, I was not informed the payment had to be in cash, dinner was served but too small of a quantity for the number of people. I did not get any meat. Also breakfast only one egg was served. Some of the guys would have eaten 3-5. Overall the physical structure was good for a night's rest, but I will choose somewhere else in the future for more welcoming staff.

Pros: I really liked the staff who served Vila Poa...
Cons: I have nothing to say.
Pros: Great place to stay! The staff is friendly, the rooms comfortable and clean. The including breakfast is delicious, especially the pancakes made by Lucy!
Pros: Wonderful, welcoming staff who attend your every need with a smile. Good breakfast. Beds very comfy with good mosquito nets and rooms clean and airy.
Cons: A bit of a walk on a very dusty road to get to the hotel. Insufficient shared toilet/showers when the hotel is full.
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Poa! Greg is a really friendly owner who also helped us to organise a safari (which was incredible!). He showed us nice places to go for sunset and a local bar. The breakfast and the dinner they offered was also very nice! We would definitely stay again at Villa Poa :)
Pros: Food was good. Quiet. Property was beautiful. Staff was great.
Cons: No hot water. Bed was really hard.
Pros: The staff were kind and helpful. Amazing and accommodating host.
Pros: The atmosphere of villa poa made you feel like home. The staff was friendly, the breakfast very tasty and the fact that you can take drinks and note it done on a list created an atmosphere of trust. After a day of meetings or fieldvisits I could come back in the tranquility of villa poa and get some work done thanks to the good wifi.
Cons: I came often in late and left early therefore I didn't see the owners often (And I finally had to search someone to be able to pay when I wanted to leave early in the morning)
Cons: The beds were very comfortable. BEWARE- do not get your laundry done here. The women is a scammer and did a crappy job. Everything else was great.
Pros: The staff is super nice, the room was clean and really comfortable, we already miss the great breakfast! There are some local shops along the streets where you can get almost everything you need, the center of Arusha can be reached easily by Dalla. Would come back to you anytime, best wishes for all of you. Much love, kili people
Cons: Nothing to complain about <3

Pros: An oasis in Arusha! I especially loved the resident Vervet monkeys! The accommodations were beautiful and the food was outstanding.
Pros: Beautiful gardens
Cons: A little under stated for what we paid, great for an "authentic" African safari experience I guess.
Pros: We did not have enough time at this hotel as we arrived late at night and left early in the morning for our safari. What I saw that morning was lovely and I wish I could have had a little more time to explore the hotel grounds. The room was good, not excellent; but I thought it was appropriate for the price.
Pros: Good breakfast. We ate most evenings in the dining room and the food was very good, although the wine was a bit pricey. The clientele is dominated by those at the beginning or end of a safari - guests seem to change every day.
Cons: The hotel is completely overstaffed and the service can be a bit oppressive. The bedrooms have anti-mosquito nets but don't be fooled - there are everywhere so make sure to bring your sprays and ideally a plug-in unit for the bedroom.
Pros: Beautiful "cottages" in exquisite grounds. Excellent restaurant. Friendly helpful staff.
Pros: King size bed
Cons: Food.....I didn’t find a buffet just like other Serena Hotels
Pros: Amazing property, calm, removed from Arusha city centre noise and hassle; beautiful views; night ambience is incredible with all the sounds from the lake; staff super friendly and helpful. Amazing stay overall!
