Pros: Everything! Breakfast, conversation, property.
Pros: We did not get to talk too much to Myriam & Didier as we arrived late, but they seem like great people and their yellow lab, Kira, is the sweetest dog. The grounds are gorgeous, the room very clean and the breakfast was amazing - made with love, including fruit from the yard.
Cons: Wifi was turned off at night. Did not understand why and made planning for next day difficult. Driveway is really challenging and very easy go miss if you arrive at night.
Pros: What an awesome stay at a beautiful place. The room was so nicely decorated . the view was awesome . And the continental breakfast with fresh fruit, 3 kinds of breads, fresh juice , and homemade marmalades was the best ever. Thank you so much for a very relaxing stay. Mark W.
Pros: This is a beautiful property set in the hills of a nearby small Costa Rican village. The space was extremely relaxing and the owners were very attentive to our needs the entire time. Breakfast was excellent and we felt lucky to be able to experience this retreat before heading back to the airport.
Pros: A beautiful setting with thoughtful touches, I loved the flowers in the room and at breakfast. Our host was very attentive and accommodating. I had an excellent night sleep and the breakfast was delicious.
Pros: This turned out to be a hidden gem. We were amazed at the beauty that surrounded us. We experienced excellent hospitality as well as superior service. The room was spotless and had one of the best views imaginable. Our hosts bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable. We would go back in a second. Pura vida!
Pros: The bed was quite comfortable, room amenities, and the best was Myriam's attention and her breakfast made on organic fruits from the garden, really delicious!
Pros: Charming and very attentive hosts - highly recommended place to stay. Beautiful breakfast with home made produce.
Pros: We very much enjoyed our short stay at Tiriguro Lodge. We only wished we could have stayed longer! Though we arrived on our first night after sunset and in the rain, Myriam greeted us right away when we pulled up. She led us down the steps and through the beautiful plants to our little lodge on the property. The room was perfect for our night’s stay- exceptionally clean and comfortable. Shampoo, body wash, and towels were provided in the bathroom. There is a beautiful balcony right off the room, which is perfect to watch the rain or drink morning coffee. Myriam had recommended a few places to eat dinner nearby in San Mateo when we arrived. We ended up going with the first place we saw- Bar Garrabito and we were not disappointed! The staff was very friendly towards us and the quesadillas were great. After a peaceful sleep, we headed up to the main house for breakfast in the morning. Breakfast was excellent. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Didier and Myriam gave us so much good advice about where to travel on our trip, and they were so welcoming- as was their friendly dog!! We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to come back one day. Tiriguro lodge was a perfect stop on our journey out west to Santa Teresa from the airport in San Jose, but it also would have been a lovely place to stay for a longer period of time. We would highly recommend staying at Tiriguro Lodge while you are in Costa Rica!
Pros: I realy like the place with a fantastic view
With a stay at Hotel Iguana Verde in Orotina, you'll be 14 mi (22.5 km) from Carara National Park and 20.5 mi (33 km) from San Ramon Museum. A shuttle from the hotel to the airport is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff were very kind and helpful. The included breakfast was much better than I expected, with fresh fruit, toast, eggs cooked to order and rice with beans. Also fresh juice and coffee.
Cons: Air conditioner in room was loud and blew directly onto the head of the bed. Some outlets did not work. Bed very firm.
Pros: Nice little oasis in the middle of town. Room was OK. Manager was very nice and accommodating.
Cons: Water pressure in the shower was very low. Mini sink in bathroom. Service at restaurant and bar slow. Many menu items were unavailable and couldn’t serve cocktails in the afternoon because there was no bartender. Started playing loud music by the pool at 5pm with no one there. Reviews and ads oversold this property. It appears that in the past it might have been what was presented.
Pros: Nice pool and garden area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Located in a small town rather than the beach or jungle, it gives a nice feel for Costa Rica life.
Pros: The staff was amazing. The cook stayed extra late to cook for us because we were late getting back to hotel. It is super quiet and very beautiful. It is a few blocks from downtown Orotina if you just want to walk around and super close to the main road.
Cons: I loved it.
Pros: This hotel has a Beautiful setting and very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: It was a relatively expensive hotel - and compared to other hotels at similar prices and better locations - this was too expensive. The pool area was very small
Pros: Beautiful garden; comfortable bed; good shower (but test it on arrival—our first room had only cold water and we had to move to another room); delicious food in the restaurant (but VERY expensive); cable TV with English channels; good wifi.
Cons: There was very loud music playing in the central courtyard until late at night, we had to ask the staff to turn it off so guests could sleep; the air conditioner was right above the bed so the choices were to turn it on and have cold air blowing directly on us or turn it off and be hot; no hair dryer available from reception; breakfast isn’t served until 8:00 which is quite late, especially since most sights are not close to the hotel.
Pros: Enjoyed my stay means were wonderful
Cons: Enjoyed my stay means were wonderful very difficult to locate even with navigation system
