lovely view, very close to the walled city, friendly staff. easy to find location. nice breakfast with a very attentive stafff member serving coffee and warm croissants to our table. I'm a late riser and the black out shutters on the windows were superb. Made a bright day seem like the middle of night! The shower was a bit small and the doors a bit loose. (minor detail)
staff extremely helpful and frirndly. rooms modern and very clean. great location to explore Ostuni by foot.
Stylish and attractive building, well positioned near the city but away from any noise . The air conditioning was not switched on , which made sleep very uncomfortable at night , they agreed tp put it back on after 3 days. The breakfast was not particulary fresh , nor was there much choice to eat.
Excellent staff. Good if you're not just doing Ostuni (eg car hire etc). Air Conditioner very noisy and didn't really work. Wi-fi not available in every room - have to sit in foyer and log into their router every hour (not good). Rooms a bit shabby - needs an overhaul. Would recommend if 50 Euros cheaper.
The location of the hotel was exactly as advertised, with a beautiful view of the city and a very easy (albeit uphill) walk into the historic center that we counted a highlight of our stay. The staff were amenable and helpful when there was a problem with plumbing in our room, helping us move to another when it became apparent repair in situ was not realistic. Breakfast was excellent. Really, our only disappointment was that this small hotel had booked in a conference for the first day or so we were there. That closed the dining room for lunch/dinner on the first day when we were really counting on an easy late lunch in their lovely dining room after a hard drive. We never did eat there--but the number of restaurants we tried in town ran the gamut of simple to fabulous.
Its position in Ostuni Staff did not appear to have been particularly well trained. We drove round and round before someone pointed us in the correct direction. When my partner walked into the hotel the receptionist was quite abrasive and implied we should have known how to find it. No one had contacted us to tell us how to find it. The staff appeared disinterested and poorly trained.
Loved the hotel, there wasn't a thing out of place, everything about the hotel is well done. We are used to staying in hotels but we didn't feel like we were in a hotel here... very relaxing place It is a difficult place to find and what you should do is call the hotel and get collected otherwise you'll never find it! There is a car park at the bottom of the town, meet them there as we were instructed to meet in a central piazza but that wasn't so easy to find! there's only one car park so you'll know it when you see it!
The hotel was lovely and small and room was bright, modern and clean. Staff were really helpful when I had forgotten my travel adaptor. Unable to provide me with the correct one, they really did make the effort to try and find one. Breakfast was very basic. Our booking said we would have a full english breakfast. On arriving in the dining room, it was only a basic continental breakfast. I expected a menu with cooked food available to order. With the price we paid for the room I expected to have cotton wool pads and cotton buds available in the room. Unfortunatly there was none and had to cleanse my face with toilet paper.
Everything! I want to live in this hotel!!!!! Also the breakfast was excellent and provided more food then we can eat.
Every part was a pleasure! Service, dining, spa all great
peace and tranquility and the boutique nature of the hotel with the history attached to it no swimming pool and the difficulty of access had to park the car at the bottom of t he hill which was also an added cost per night to be paid in cash at checkout
Visting the locality within the town
The ambience, cleanliness, comfort and style were excellent. Staff were pleasant and professional. Small items that needed fixing were promised but not carried out, tv reception was poor, breakfast went "missing" on last morning, the hotel can be difficult to find with no parking.
La Sommita is a beautiful hotel. The decor is impeccable and there are plenty of areas for lounging whilst looking out at the fantastic views. The food in the restaurant is superb too. The one thing I would say is that it is very hard to find. We spent a good 45 minutes driving through the tiny cobbled streets (which in fact turned out to be great fun!) desperately searching for it.
We loved our stay at La Sommita. The place is beautiful, delightfull rooms, very good service, very friendly staff. We highly recommend this hotel!!! No.
Staff were very helpful. The interior style is a little dated for the price bracket.
Clean and well appointed rooms, decorated recently in an attractive seaside blue. Willing and helpful reception staff. I ate in the restaurant twice. Neither time was great, but I am sure they will improve, as Italian guests noticed this glitch as well.
clean, good breakfast, parking and the hotel staff was nice. It was a short distance walking from the centre. pretensious and bad decorated
Excellent 4* hotel- good value for the price. Great staff helped us deal with visit to hospital (to fix bone broken on hotel roof terrace). Restaurant was excellent. Fantastic location in Ostuni, easy to walk around and enjoy. Beware of the roof terrace uneven levels -
The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the location was really good for seeing the surrounding areas. pillows a little lumpy, restaurant a little formal and atmosphere could have been so much better if the lighting had not been so bright.
Excellent restaurant with menu in english!
Clean, efficient staff, execllent location None
everthing was perfect very very nice hotel, very good breakfast , friendly staff and told us about the white city
The thing that stood out about this hotel was the staff at the reception. They were so friendly and eager to help. They went out of their way to help me organise a tour to a local cheese farm which is not something they normally organised, but they spent the whole afternoon ringing out different places for me. Such good service!
Bright, clean, modern room. Close to old town centre. Unable to connect to internet in room. Breakfast was minimal and certainly not up to a 4* hotel standard.
Excellent location, as long as you like "historic centre" locations, with offsite parking. Staff very helpful, with fair facility in English. Room was very nice, with access to a shared terrace with beautiful view, which we had all to ourselves. Internet reception not as good as advertised - would not work consistently in our room. We could not drive right to the hotel to unload, but staff was very helpful in carrying luggage 100 metres or so.
This hotel is with great location in the historical center of Ostuni and from the balcony there is great view of the city! I like the decoration of the hotel, even the room is simple but comfortable. the breakfast is very good and the staff is very helpful!
A little oasis in a busy section of town. The coffee in the morning. Instant coffee!
Quiet and comfortable. Very helpful staff, particularly those who took care of our parking for us. A more than ample breakfast. An excellent location. Cigarette smoke. On more tha one occasion we encountered people smoking in the downstairs bar. Employees clustered at the doors meaning smoke came into the lobby/halls when the doors were opened. Let them smoke down the street. The glass stairs were a bit perturbing. Stepping onto nothing is a bit disconcerting.
great location, comfortable Would have been nice if hotel offered more info about what they could do/ arrange rather than a statement about an available concierge. Was a 4 star hotel and expensive for the area and I would have expected a higher level of service. It was fine, but nothing special.
Central location, in the heart of Ostuni, the staff were so lovely and helpful.
the staff were extremely accommodating and very welcoming. The restaurant was of an excellent quality: the food was fantastically fresh and prepared in an elegant yet simple way. Highly recommended.
Fantastic location in old town. Excellent refurbishment. Very interesting building. Good breakfast. Very helpful staff. Carried luggage from car and gave us lift back to car bed bit uncomfortable. Room a little cramped.
Very helpful staff, excellent and great value restaurant, very central location.
very cosy family atmosphere, authentic building and room style. wonderful kitchen. Friendly stuff. Lovely place to have a rest of city rush.
We were given a bedroom and kitchen with working fireplace .The onlysound all night was from crickets. The flowered avenue between the buildings ,lit by candles in the evening ,was magically, beautifully romantic. Giuseppe, their well informed employee, gave a tour of the close grounds and the old olive presses .Food excellent. Accommodation price was a bit high but the dinner price was a bargain.
The whole package - the welcome. the breakfasts, comfortable room/bed, cleanliness, setting
Excellent food, top quality of the restaurant and breakfast. Food was cared in all details and comparable to a 5 star. The room was not comparable to price required: old bathroom, not recent renovated. Comparable to a 3 star.
All staff were very helpful. English spoken by most staff and Italian encouraged by staff from us ! Room quite small for a winter visit as the only other place to relax is in the foyer. This would not be a problem in summer when there are many places to hang out.
Friendliness of the staff. Good food The rooms were very small
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere relaxed. The rooms are simple and the gardens beautiful. Nice swimming pool, with another shallower one for small children. The food was very good, and the hotel was well-located for beaches and places of interest in the area. In the evenings the music was played loud and late.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful which meant that any problems could be resolved quickly. The pool side area and grounds are very pleasant. When there was a party the music was always finished by 1230am so as not to disturb residents. Some of the rooms restricted space. Poor showers - no bath. Limited facilities for small children
Staff were friendly and helpful. Beautiful and large rooms and very nice grounds Heaig did not work in the room but was immediately changed by staff
The staff was wondeful and so helpful and accommodating. The grounds and pool were beautiful. Small beds.
All staff were friendly, polite and obliging. Made me feel very welcome.
Staff were very helpful Chalets lacked light & a wall mirror would be helpful
Beutiful grounds and ambience. Helpful and courteous staff. Very good restaurant and service. Rooms very small and not comfortably furnished.
Situation of hotel was exactly as described Room was very gloomy (no proper window) and very cold/damp. It aws the beginning of the season and it showed!
The Swimming pools especially the lagoon pool. The hotel bedrooms were functional and definitely not 4star. The bed in the superior room was so hard it like was like sleeping on the floor. Breakfasts were self service with long queues for coffee taken in an overcrowded room. Meals in hotel vastly overpriced for those on B&B
the grounds were nice and the room had plenty of room We picked this hotel because of the pool and it was unusable, no restraunt other than breakfast which was not included in the price, no daily cleaning service for the rooms, would not rate as a four star
Quite, staff, nature. It is a really cosy place Nothing
Situated between olive trees, far away from busy Ostuni or the beaches, Masseria Tutosa offers a peaceful stay in a beautiful accomodation. The Masseria is hard to find, even with assistance of navigation equipment. The restaurant is only open in the summer season.
Air condition didn't function in the room, that was very very inconvenient during 35 C hot night
all in all a lovely hotel, location ideal for touring the area or relaxing by the sea. beautiful grounds and pool area, ideal place to relax after a day out. friendly staff....no complaints really!!
Very peaceful relaxed atmosphere, good location for beach and towns of interest in Trulli country. lovely grounds and pool.
quite good - a bit difficult to find initially entering into Ostuni - is some distance from the town centre. good rooms - overall good value slightly small shower - otherwise reasonalbly sized rooms with kitchnette and private facilities
I think the hotel has good facilities, very clean and the staff were very helpful once they understood what we were saying. There was no English spoken, limited breakfast unless you like cake this was fine for me as I have stayed there before but if you are not aware this can be difficult especially as I had a 9 year old with me
Fantastic food, close to Ostuni, wonderful host, reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Staff and family were very friendly but their lack of English encouraged us to use our limited Italian!
The owner escorted us to our room and was extremely nice and spoke English excellently. All the staff were helpful and very friendly. The place is quiet and lovely, very peaceful and relaxing. I would heartily recommend this place.
The owners, Memo and Danielli who were wonderful hosts, and the food and wine which were both excellent and good value. The room was very comfortable but the "piccolo bagno" made showering a challenge. This did not detract from the whole very positive experience.
It environment around the converted farm buildings seemed well cared for, and the flowerbeds and trees made the whole place seem very attractive. There is a lovely terrace, on which we enjoyed sitting comfortably to read in the sun or watch the sun set. The restaurant is especially good. It has a fixed menu for dinner which is good value and serves beautifully cooked local food. We liked the fact that we had a kitchenette so that we could also make our own meals sometimes. We enjoyed the swimming pool which is a good size. You are in the countryside but only about 2 km from Ostuni which is a beautiful town.
Friendly staff though very limited English spoken - but I guess you have to remember you are staying with a family on their working farm. Room was large, well equipped and comfortable enough given the price. Good pool and lots of outdoor communal spaces. Good to be served fresh food from the farm. Close to town. Breakfast was more limited than is usual in continental places - lots of cakes, not much in the way of cereals, breads, hams or cheeses. Not the usual coffee options either, just thick black coffee from a large pot. The rooms in the old farmhouse where I stayed are more basically furnished, though the same price, as the newer rooms in the outbuildings. My shower was broken. There are a lot of rooms, it can get surprisingly busy. The hotel has a good local reputation for catering but dinner was disappointing on the one night we ate there.
Yes, you can park outside your room and it is lovely and quiet. Our room also had a kitchenette with large fridge and cooking facilities. It is difficult to find.
The location was good. The rooms are basic and the breakfest was ok. As in was mid October the rooms were cold and the grounds could not be used to full advantage.
