Pros: Best beach type resort I ever experienced. Miles away better than the so called resorts on the Cancun strip. Service is outstanding. Staff is clearly well trained to be helpful but not intrusive. Restaurant is award-winning- highly recpmmended. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Pros: Everything was amazing pools were beautiful the room was beautiful service was outstanding restaurants were excellent
Pros: The facility and people were generally really good. Very compatible to other resorts my wife and I have bee to in the Riviera Maya. This is our 9th trip to Riviera Maya and I believe when most people say this place is top of line they have not been to to many others. You can go to several other hotels and get 100% of what you want, not 90%.
Cons: If you like the beach and ocean, then do not go to this resort. Simply horrible! It's a shame because it really is a nice resort but the ocean water is not much better the the New Jersey shore. Very disappointing. You will not even want to go in the water with all the algae and sea weed. If you are strictly a pool person, you will be fine. We will not go back simply due to this issue. We have been to several other resorts in the Riviera Maya that has everything for the same basic price.
Pros: Everything was amazing
Pros: The room was amazing, as well as the rest of the facility. Everything as clean and easily accessible. The staff was helpful and polite. The stars visibility made you never want to leave.
Cons: The food was just ok at most of the restaurants.
Pros: I loved the room, the restaurants, the pools, the beach, and the ambiance. I had a great time with my friends. Everything was easily accessible.
Cons: The only things I didn't like was the inconsistency of the service. When we ordered drinks it was always a surprise what we would get based on the waiter or waitress taking the order. Some servers were friendlier than others. Also, the Wifi and cell service was VERY bad. If you need to communicate with the outside world, you shouldn't stay there.
Pros: I was actually semi dreading this trip based on past Mexico experiences, but I ended up having an amazing time. The food, room, staff, everything was perfect. Will definitely go back some day.
Cons: This resort had no control over this...but the ocean was brown from algea! Was not able to spend any time on the beach! They did have a tractor trying to pick it up but there was too much.
Pros: Loved everything about the resort except for beach.
Cons: Lots of seaweed in the ocean that crews tried to clean up throughout the mornings. Water was not clear.

Bring open mind and good attitide because couple are very nice and respectful. People were friendly and so was the staff. You do not have people oogling at you and really most of the couple are mature in age so there is no need to be concerned about 20/30 somethings running around like models. That is not the case at all, unless there is a special group take over. We did visit the sister property and there was a little more PDA action going on over there. This is my 3 times visiting this group of properties and I will go back. Tips: Bring deet, aspirin, alaka seltzer, sunscreen(waterproof), and ladies pack lightly
Pros: The grounds are beautiful and beach is nice.
Cons: The food was okay. However after speaking with Pablo the chef he then seasonedthings up a bit more. I had spoken with others would enjoyed the food in its bland form also. I am from Dallas Texas so I like thing a little more flavorful.

Pros: Food is good and they are pretty good with allergies. They will give gluten free ice cream with a cone etc. so watch out
Cons: Far too relaxed with security and leave keys unattended in public with room number clearly labeled. Hrd to get the room cleaned before 5pm don't change dirty sheets. No turndown before 9pm with 2 toddlers. Premium is not. Hrd to get a drink around pool

Chef Market Gran Cafe, one of 6 restaurants, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 2 bars/lounges and a nightclub are other highlights at this luxurious resort, and rooms offer upscale touches like private pools and jetted tubs.
Pros: The rooms were stunning, jacuzzi bath, plunge pool on balcony overlooking the ocean. Great bath products. Huge room! The place is definitely beautiful. Ceasar was absolutely brilliant always willing to help, give good advise about local things to do. Infinity pool overlooking the ocean was gorgeous! Overall the hotel is amazing.
Cons: Because the place is new in sure they are still working on things but...The staff in the bar (except the lovely lady she was fab) need to be a little more knowledgeable about cocktails. The drinks were very expensive and they didn't have much of a selection. Need to make the bar restaurant a little more romantic / warm but still it was lovely. Food was great. maybe on arrival to the hotel a little info on things would have been nice..
A great choice for a stay in Playa del Carmen, Senses Riviera Maya By Artisan - Adults Only features a rooftop terrace and offers an airport shuttle (available 24 hours) for USD 130 per vehicle. The outdoor pool is a great spot to take a dip, and guests can grab a bite to eat at Cavamar, which serves Mexican cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's a poolside bar and a bar/lounge, and rooms at this upscale hotel get the details right with private pools and premium bedding.
Pros: This is a beautiful, quiet resort that felt very luxurious and peaceful. It was only a short (20 minute) ride from the airport. The service staff were incredible, always helpful, smiling and seemed to be having a good time themselves. Tips weren't expected at all, but bring some, they deserve it! The complimentary "sunset" cruise was fun and a good way to get away for a while and see the area. The food choices were varied for just having a few restaurants, and each had a unique vibe, great food and a view. There was never a wait for any restaurants, but we ate earlier than most. The room was enormous and unique. Honestly, everything looks like the photos, which is pretty rare. :)
Cons: After an amazing shuttle ride, we were dropped off in the check-in office, we sat there without a greeting or any acknowledgement for a long time. (Some guests ahead of us were having trouble checking in)
Problems happen, that's totally understandable, but a simple "Sorry for the wait, go hang outside with a drink and we'll get you when we figure this out" would have saved some frustration.
A couple days in, we got a phone call saying we had a "Welcome Package" to pick up... cool! No, no... it was a sales pitch telling us how we basically stayed at the wrong resort for our age group, how we could have received a discount on massages (had she not been off work the day before), and that we should really go tour other resorts (and listen to more sales information). It just felt very slimy for such a high end resort, so... If you get that call, decline, but beware they may find you on the beach or around the resort.

Adjacent to the sunken tub is a two-person shower stall with a bench and a garden-view glass wall. A pillow menu and nightly turndown service with petits fours are provided.
Cons: Really wish the restaurants were air conditioned, we were uncomfortably at dinner. But we were there during a very hot week.
Pros: The pool and grounds are beautiful with attention to small details that make the difference. The staff was always attentive and responsive. The preferred club provided a nice air conditioned location for our family to congregate. Buffet was ok and the sit-down restaurants were good to very good.
Cons: The buffet and Mexican restaurants can be sweltering hot. We had some mosquito problems in our room. This year there is a terrible seaweed problem all up and down the coast making the beaches undesirable.
Pros: Gorgeous location and friendly staff. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an all inclusive Riviera Maya Family Resort in this price range.
Location. Resort Riviera Cancun is tucked amid a white-sand beach and a mangrove jungle in Puerto Morelos, 20 miles (32 kilometers) from Cancun, Mexico. Cozumel is located 13 miles (21 kilometers) from this property.

Each suite offers a separate sitting area with sofa or easy chairs. A 32-inch LCD TV with cable programming, free WiFi access, and climate control offer comfort and convenience. Marble bathrooms include tub/shower combinations, bidets, free toiletries, and scales.
Pros: Let's start with the food-- It was uniformly phenomenal at every restaurant we tried (Kibbeh, Picante, Silk City, The Strip, Bites, Spoon). Top shelf liquors and well made cocktails kept everyone in high spirits (seriously... try to get a well-made Manhattan at any other Mexican AI property. Good luck.) Just one restriction that we ran into: No shots in the Xcelerate pool, but that's probably a good idea.
Our suite in the Xhale (VIP) area was quite modern and very well appointed. Everything (with one exception) was in excellent shape and housekeeping services were prompt and thorough.
We were at Breathless for my buddy's bachelor party and the party package we ordered ($125 a head) was totally worth it. Bottles of tequila, a photo shoot, a private cigar rolling, a late night party in the room, table service at the club, a specially decorated daybed by the pool... it all added up to a very special experience.
Overall, the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. The place is pretty new, so you'd expect things to be clean and they are. The raised walkways throughout the property and the tasteful use of accent lighting really makes you feel like you're in the middle of an ultra modern estate. All of the restaurants and lounges are beautifully decorated, too. A lot of thought went into the design of this stunning property.
The thing that really makes Breathless Riviera Cancun stand out, though, is the people. The entire staff from top to bottom are friendly and accommodating. The worst I personally experienced was a bartender or two who was somewhat indifferent. No one was unusually sour or gave off a begrudging attitude like you find at a lot of AIs (especially in the Caribbean islands). Just keep a steady flow of small tips ($1 here... $3 there... $20 for super special favors) coming and you'll be treated very very well.
Extra huge thanks to...
JC at Wink-- The best bar server I have ever met in my whole life! Thanks for hooking it up time after time and for helping us recreate our 18-year-old bro trip photo. :D
Ericka at Picante-- For playing mom to a bunch of overgrown misfits as you served us the best Mexican meal we ever ate.
Ivette Hernandez-- For personally seeing to it that all of our requests were handled quickly and thoroughly. It was a true pleasure meeting you!
Bottom line: I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Breathless Riviera Cancun to anyone I know... and I already have many times. Keep up the great work!
Cons: Just a few things to mention-- all of them minor:
- Our in-room tablet (how you check the activities, make reservations, order room service, etc.) in one of the suites didn't work upon arrival. Something was wrong with the charging base. A little tinkering and it was fine.
- While the property is totally appropriate for anyone traveling without kids, it does cater primarily to couples. As such, the beautiful rain showers in the suites are in a glass box right in the middle of the room-- ostensibly so you can see how smoking hot your new husband/wife is as they bathe-- and the "privacy curtain" basically just separates the shower from the bed area. Anyone accessing the sinks, toilet, closet, minibar, coffeemaker or walking in the front door (GASP!) has a front row seat. The management might consider having those curtains go around the entire shower enclosure.
- Room service was uniformly slow. Every time. Tasty, though!
- I scheduled our private photo shoot for 7pm on our last day. The photo desk called to ask if we could move it up to 6. I obliged. When we showed up, the photographer power-walked us to the beach, snapped exactly two photos and skedaddled. When I asked if we could take just a few more, she said simply "No. This is enough." Oooooo kaaaaay.
At Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa - All Inclusive, you can spend time at the beach enjoying beach umbrellas, yoga, and sun loungers, plus you'll have access to onsite snorkeling and kayaking. There's plenty of fun with the 3 outdoor pools and indoor pool, and guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in deep-tissue massages, aromatherapy, and hydrotherapy. Serving international cuisine, Spoon is one of 9 restaurants and 3 poolside bars. There are 5 bars/lounges and a winery, and rooms at this upscale resort get the details right with bathrobes and slippers.
Desire Riviera Maya Resort offers a private beach where you can enjoy the shade from a beach umbrella, plus you'll have access to onsite scuba diving, windsurfing, and sailing. The outdoor pool is perfect for guests looking for a bit of fun, while those in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in massages, facials, and aromatherapy. The restaurant is a great spot for a bite to eat and cold drinks are served at the pool bar. 4 bars/lounges and a nightclub are other highlights at this upscale resort, and rooms offer 24-hour room service and minibars.
Pros: We had our wedding there... it was amazing! Everyone was extremely accomodating. The resort itself is very modern for a place in Cancun with nice bathrooms and more air conditioned areas than most. The food was actually quite good for an all inclusive, something that is rare (usually the all inclusives are quite bland).
Pros: We were there to attend a wedding and the location was great! The beach is very nice if you go away from the area with seaweeds. The rooms are very nice, modern and spacious with jacuzzis and double sinks in the bathrooms. Overall the facilities are nice, the staff is friendly and we had well-coordinated wedding events. Coco Cafe is great, delicious desserts and much better coffee there than in the room or room service! The bar staff works very hard to keep up with the demand for the free cocktails! The spa was nice too and have many coupons and special deals that make it worth it. Non-motorized sports are included which is nice.
Cons: While rooms are spacious, the lighting in the closet area needs updating especially since the in-room coffee maker is in a barely lit closet. We also lost power for a couple of hours on one day. Room service was consistently late by 15 minutes or so. One day, breakfast room service was delayed due to an issue in the kitchen. Dining experiences in the Mediterranean and Mexican restaurants were really sub-par. Both served cold food. In Cin Cin, grilled salmon came half cold, half warm and the vegetarian dishes ordered by some members of our party were completely cold. In the Mexican restaurant, the fajitas had no sizzle at all, veggie enchiladas were served cold, and when we pointed that out, they were substituted with hot chicken enchiladas, which did not sit well at all with the vegetarians in the party. All in all, the restaurants need a lot of work. In addition to that, we were disappointed that the water sports desk had no fixed time for opening. One morning, we wanted to go kayaking, and the opening time for the desk kept shifting from 9:30AM->10AM->10:30AM. We finally gave up waiting for the desk to be staffed as we had to check out and leave for the airport.
Pros: The beach and the pools. The room was great! Comfortable beds and nice bedding. Friendly staff. Vary accommodating to our large group.
Cons: The bartenders were a little rude to our girls. Although I don't think they were tipping.
Pros: Property was undergoing MAJOR construction and renovation when we arrived. I was not expecting to be ambushed with sales pitches the entire time either. They hounded us multiple times to come to their informational presentation so that we could learn about their other properties and the VIP area of the resort. To be honest, that area was not much better than the rest of the property, and the guest staying there still had to eat at the same restaurants and got the same food as the rest of us. It made no sense to pay more for the same mediocre quality services.
Cons: Food was not impressive. The restaurants showed potential for some good cuisine, but most of the portions were too small or were just not good. The room service menu was disappointing, and the delivery took about 1 hour for each order. The room was also not the cleanest and being in the "tropical" room meant you had a view of power lines and a forest/swamp area in the back of the resort, which also smelled like sewage. I was not nearly as relaxed as I should have been.
Pros: The pool bar service staff (Polo or Marco) was excellent. The other staff was just OK ... but he made it work for us. Rooms Good. Food Good (Hamburgers GREAT), Pool Good. Wedding coordination seemed to go well for everyone. I like the Hotel Zone but this was a good alternative for us.
Cons: Beach was just OK but it works. Cleaning the Room seemed to be upon a call to Housekeeping. Location is OK - but improves if you visit Puerto Morales (FUN PLACE).
Now Jade Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa All Inclusive offers a private beach where you can sip a drink at the beach bar or relax in a sun lounger, plus you'll have access to onsite surfing/boogie boarding, sailing, and kayaking. 3 outdoor pools provide fun for everyone, while guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in massages, aromatherapy, and mani/pedis. Carnival Buffet, one of 7 restaurants, offers a beachfront location and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are 2 swim-up bars and 3 bars/lounges, and rooms at this upscale hotel get the details right with free minibar items and jetted tubs.
Cons: In desperate need of a major renovation. The check in process is soley designed to get you to buy their upgrades and services so instead of having a quick check in; it is dragged on to over 30 minutes and then they pass you onto another person that tries to have you sign on to view their nearby upscale property; without disclosing that they will try to sell you HARD to join their vacation club.
Pros: Outstanding service and great food made this a relaxing vacation! Excellent beach and plenty of pools to choose from!
Pros: Great staff always smiling and very attentive. Room was beautiful, food was good as well. Drinks are pretty weak but we figured out a trick. If you order a pina colada, etc just ask for a shot on the side then pour it in the drink.
Cons: Paying for an all-inclusive resort you expect everything to be all inclusive. Having the staff ask you to upgrade your room, or upgrade for a bottle of wine is unnecessary. Just be prepared to say no multiple times.
Pros: We just returned from a 10 day stay at Secrets Silversands and it was everything we hoped it would be and more. We had a total of 46 people there for the first half of the trip and we stayed the second half alone for our honeymoon. Everyone in our group had a fantastic time and said that the resort was unbelievable.
With all of the pools they have it is easy to find what you are looking for, a quiet day away from noise and people or the main pool with a bar and entertainment events/games taking place.
All of the restaurants are very good and a few of them are excellent, we particularly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant and their menu. The lunch buffets by the pools are very good and never gave us a reason to try the lunch buffet at the indoors restaurant. The breakfast buffet has everything that you could want and will not disappoint.
The thing that made it such a wonderful experience for our entire group was the staff, the waitresses/waiters, entertainment staff, and the wedding planner were nothing short of amazing. They remember your names, they are fun and kind, and they make you feel very welcome.
Cons: The complaints I have are hardly complaints. The floors in the rooms and hallways are pretty slippery when wet, which is quite often if you are coming from the pool/beach. The hotel had mentioned to us that they are renovating a handful of rooms at a time and trying out new tiles to help with this. As long as you are aware they can be slippery and don't try to sprint around, you'll be just fine.
The only thing that bothered us, and it was an isolated issue that I don't hold over the entire resort, was an experience we had with a gentleman at one of the restaurants. On several occasions he was difficult to deal with and not wanting to accommodate groups. We were told before going that there may be an additional charge for dinner groups over 6, which we understood as they are setup to deal with smaller groups and couples. Every restaurant was more than helpful in seating the occasional group of 6-10 and never charged us for it...except for one. One host of a restaurant was determined to charge us for bottles of wine for the table or else our wait but be extended. If we bought wine our tables would be ready almost immediately, if we didn't buy wine it would be an hour. Again, this was an isolated incident and did nothing to dampen our moods...we would simply go to another restaurant and be seated immediately.
Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun All Inclusive offers a private beach where you can get a beach massage, plus you'll have access to onsite snorkeling, surfing/boogie boarding, and sailing. 10 outdoor pools provide fun for everyone, while guests in the mood for pampering can visit the spa to indulge in massages, body wraps, and aromatherapy. World Cafe, one of 8 restaurants, serves international cuisine and is open for breakfast and lunch. There's a nightclub and a rooftop terrace, and rooms at this luxurious resort get the details right with jetted tubs and premium bedding.
Pros: +Food is great, specially in the Steak Restaurant
+Buffet is also great with too many options and all of them of great quality
+Staff service is outstanding, specially waitresses in the beach
+Room is big, very clean and modern
+Pools are also great, specially kids pool.
Cons: -Beach was not the best since there is a lot of seaweed, however it seems to be a general problem y all riviera maya and royalton staff is constantly cleaning it.
Pros: Loved the spa, the room, the food. It was my husband's birthday, and they did so many things to make him feel extra special. He said it was one of his most memorable birthdays. They really went above and beyond. We lov d our spa services from Erika and Joselyn.
Cons: I didn't like the Timeshare presentation. It ran too long. Truthfully, it ruined my morning. ..we were hoping for bluer ocean.
Cons: Waiters waiting for tips and getting mad if they did not get one. High pressure selling of the diamond club.
Pros: We decided to stay at the adults only section of the hotel which was amazing! Our room was ocean front with a balcony and a hot tub on it! The view was amazing! Our room was huge and clean. We had the same staff in and out of our room while we were there for 6 days/5 nights so we were able to get to know them. Alonzo and Margarita were great at keeping the rooms clean and having the beds turned back for us. We had upgraded to the diamond club before we got there and I would definitely do that again! Our butlers Dominquez and Reuben were Amazing!! To help celebrate our 20th anniversary they decorated our room with rose petals and confetti and had the hot tub ready to go for us. When we came back to our room that night there was a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us. They went above and beyond! They always were checking to see if there was anything else we needed.
The food was pretty good and even though we had reservations I don't think we would have waited too long at any of the restaurants.
The beach was beautiful! It did have a lot of seaweed but they did try hard to keep it clean but there's only so much they can do.
The resort had shows every night and we watched most of them and really enjoyed the variety. The Diva's International were good and the Set the night on fire show was amazing!
I would recommend this resort and do plan on going back!
Pros: Beautiful Resort
Nice rooms, amenities
Great food and drinks
On the beach
Away from the commotion of Cancun
Great Tennis coach. Strangely, the hotel did not publicize the availability of personal tennis lessons.
Nice Gym. Unfortunately, the gym/hotel did not sell any protein drinks or powders.
Cons: At the end of the trip I learned my mosquito bites were bed bug bites, which means I will have to toss my luggage.
Butler service was pointless. I could never reach them and they were of no help on check out.
The central pool area was being renovated morning till evening for 3 days of the trip. Thankfully I stayed in the Diamond Club and had access to other smaller pools.
The tipping situation feels awkward. I'm not sure how to better handle it though.
In early the December the beach is so-so since there still was a fair amount of sea grass. The beaches down south were a lot "cleaner" and the water was clearer.
Pros: Amazing food
Close to the beach
Gorgeous and large rooms
Friendly workers who worked very hard
Cons: Construction at main pool was loud and annoying
Cracks on foundation, I think the resort is sinking??
Mosquitos as it was built in the mangroves

Pros: busy place so not everyone feels the way we do
Cons: Way to big all the buildings looked the same hard to keep bearings
cafeteria food was just ok but messy from people helping themselves
waiting in line for food and drinks
Fenced in with security at gate. Some call it being secure. I call it like being in a prison
Paid more for ocean view to look at trees
elevators did not work
Lots of background noise from so many people while eating
