Pros. Everything was great
Pros. Continental breakfast served in the room at time I choose
Cons. Great location for walking to restaurants and activities
Pros. My wife and I were very favorably impressed with the Independent Hotel. The building itself has historic charm. The setup is a bit eclectic, with a small entryway to the elevator up to the lobby. The rooms are quite spacious and well appointed. The staff couldn't be more welcoming and enthusiastic. In addition, the hotel is near some very fine restaurants and attractions. We walked everywhere. Our visit was terrific. We look forward to coming again and we will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.
Pros. Every single member of the staff was incredibly solicitous, courteous, and helpful. It overlooks one of Philly's legendary Sistine-like murals and is steps from the main Market St in one direction, and the wonderful antiques / jewelry / historic-homes-on-mews district in the other.
Cons. One can't open the windows, which is apparently common in many hotels in Philadelphia after an incident with a child falling out, but in New York we have child window guards and I recommend them. It's better for the planet and more pleasant for the customer to have fresh air. What's more, it would save this and other hotels so much money if they didn't have to run the AC all the time! Just sayin'.
Pros. Erick constantly had a smike on his face our whole experience- He was our bell hop, concierge, breakfast delivery man, and entertainment. He deserves a raise. Our room was beautifully decorated and i felt like i was in my bedroom. Lovely staff and quiet enviornment.
Cons. The temperature in our room was a bit bi polar- even with our thermostate on 65 it felt like 75. We had cathedral cielings which i am sure caused this- The vents were still blowing cold air.
