Clean, adequate For a 4 star hotel, it did not have luggage racks; antiquated tv; poor lighting; not enough hangars for two people; very small shower stall; no toiletries - shampoo; no tissues; hair dryer was like a vacuum cleaner; noisy - we could hear noise from hallway all the time; located right next door to a church therefore hear the bells all day long. Breakfast was ok and the one dinner we had was absolutely awful. Elevator had just enough room for 1 person with 2 pieces of luggage. Location of hotel was not the best as you either had to call for a taxi, take a local bus or walk. Taxi was too expensive.b Walking along roads with no sidewalks was quite hairy!!!
In a quiet environment with friendly helpful staff. Not too many restaurants around but an excellent one in Meta (the Taverna I think) with great food and surroundings at a very reasonable price. It was a little difficult to find by car but easy to find if arriving by train.
All of the staff was excellent and very conscientious! It was amazing that they remembered us as individuals even though they took care of so many different people each day. They were also very helpful with info. about various tourist destinations and activities. The only minor problems we had were that the shower was plugged and the air conditioning could have been cooler. It would be nice if the individual guests could control the temperature in their rooms. But as I said this was just a minor concern. Also it would be nice if the pool stayed open a bit later-19:00 (7:00pm) was quite early and it would have been nice to have a cool swim in the evening after a hot day of sight seeing....
everything was OK In the picture hotel and swimming pool look bigger than they are.
family hotel brother was very helpful and pleasant and sister lovely people meastro machine was not working for payment was cuased a bit of stress
The owner was very friendly, the bathroom was very big, very central for the whole peninsula, an hour from Naples, Vesuvius, Pompei and only minutes from the Amalfi coast - which I personally feel is very overrated. The breakfast left a lot to be desired! De-luxe is an overstatement. Very loud - inside and out.
Hotel has a big terrace to get breakfast or just sit there on the fresh air. Owner was very nice and friendly but she doesn't speak English, just few words... Air conditioning in the room. we did not use it as we have little children... It's right on the intersection. Our room was very, very small, and there were only roof windows that we could not open. Maybe other rooms are bigger. This one for my wife and our little boy was really quite small...
Ermilia was really nice, the service and the room standard was brilliant. Breakfast consisted of some lovely pastries yum yum. The views were fantastic, the only thing I would say is get a car as the buses around thia area are a bit erratic, ie. they seem to go into Piano town but don't seem to come back up for hours. The apartment was 7km away from Sorrento and 7km away from Positano, another bit of advice best taking the bus up to there as the road is horendious (mountain drop on the right of you!) but between 9-10.30 ish as the buses after that get a bit erratic and also are packed full of people, coming back the bus runs hourly. Make sure you take the number booking.com give you as she is not always there, its also outside the door.
This is my second stay at the Conca d'Oro, and I will return again and again. The views are spectacular, the breakfast is ample, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Many excellent restaurants and charming shops are within easy walking distance along the winding road to the beach. The Hotel Conca d'Oro is a lovely retreat with large terraces and incredible views of Positano and the glistening bay below.
It's just a very nice hotel. It's pretty expensive.
Spectacular views. The "Terrace Rooms" are definitely worth the extra $. Beautiful restaurant. Outstanding breakfast with the option to add eggs/omlet for small charge. Very helpful staff. Parking available close by. Comfortable spacious rooms. All around great value. 120 steps from the street to the hotel desk. Not for those who have very limited mobility. (This is true for most of Positano). Porter will meet you at the parking area to bring your luggage.
The hotel was clean, and the staff courteous and helpful. The food was very good also Access up the steps was difficult for some - but good exercise!
Very helpful and personal service. Sitting out on the terrace relaxing with the wonderful view. We could always ask for something and receive satisfaction. The car parking lot was very helpful, so close and the attendants were courteous. Good value for the money spent. No
the View was absolutely fabulous room was small; many steps to get to the hotel
The view from the hotel is really amazing. The access to the hotel is difficult, there are too many ladders to get into it and also it is far from the beach/city center. To use the air conditioning, we had to pay 10EUR per day! The service at the jacuzzi area is not so good, we have asked for bruschetta and they brought it without knife and knappings. Further the bed and pillows were not confortable.
Outstanding views of the water and hillside if you have a sea view room Not really an issue but lots of stairs to get to the hotel
the cleanliness of my room was awesome. it has 106 stairs to it. Not very good for older people.
The venue and location and the freindly staff.
The views are fantastic but that's because the hotel is way up the hill from the main town. The hotel is very nice. No complaints except maybe the breakfast could have been a bit more varied. Positano is fantastic. For me the best place in the area. I see other reviewers are praising the location! For me it was not good. Apart from the 100 or so stairs you have to walk up it is probably almost a mile uphill from the main center before you reach the stairs.
This is a great property and the view is fantastic. Breakast and evening drinks on the balcony will be treasured memories of our time there.
Great hotel with wonderful views. Staff were very helpful. Also, hotel offers free boat trips, great bonus. Bathrooms are very small and showers are too tiny.
The view from our room was fantastic, the buffet breakfast was also quite impressive there was a lot to choose from. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel did not offer a shuttle service down to beach. Bringing luggage down to the ferry was also quite difficult so we had to pay a porter to do it. This should really be included in the price of the accomodation.
The hotel was extremely clean and well looked after. Not luxury but very professionally run and very neat and tidy. All staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. A very good atmosphere and a real pleasure to stay in.
The view, the terrace, the cocktails and dinner, the manager and hostess, the breakfast. The staff was helpful. Was nicely furnished. The matress and the pillow.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful and were very polite and friendly. They made us feel very welcome. There was a very pleasant atmosphere in the hotel.
This was the second time we have stayed at the hotel and being a family-run business it has the ideal mix of friendliness, helpfulness and peace that one wishes for in this ideal location.` We found our bedroom rather noisy as it was situated below the kitchens. We asked to change the room but as the hotel was fully booked it was not possible. Whilst slightly annoying to be woken at 6am it did not deter us from enjoying our holiday.
I liked the location and the hotel staff. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. It was noisy.
Location with fantastic view, excellent place for relax. Nothing!
the ambience of the hotel was magical and the staff were friendly helpful and so hospitable. the view from the bedroom was stunning. and the terrace off th ebedroom was a lovely spot to sit and relax at
Beautiful spot on the Amalfi Coast, and a good choice if you want to be able to walk to town/breach/restaurants/etc.
Breakfast was delicious! I recommend the fresh peach juice! Staff very helpful and friendly. Easy to get to from Sita bus from Sorrento. Bathrooms very clean. Balcony/terrace was absolutely beautiful. Will probably return on my next trip. Lots of steps to the beach. Not bad going down but definitely not fun going back up after a few glasses of wine!
Nice quite Hotel, excellent location and good transport links. Would definitely go back again.
The service and comfort
Staff were generally helpful and friendly. All other facilities, i.e pool were great. Just a shame the tiles on bedroom floor let them down. If they carpeted the rooms I am sure there would be less complaints all the bedroom floors had no carpets so the rooms were extremely noisy. We complained the first night as the people upstairs were very noisy when they came in at 4am. We were told by reception that the noise would only be for 2 more nights as they weere leaving after that!!! great. Only other thing was toaster not working in hotel. And the hot water urn for tea did not keep the hot water warm at breakfast. Staff in the restaurant didn't want to know.
Room was super clean, the best breakfast in Italy and gratis. Nice pool and a overall good experience. Only neg is that it is about 1 mile from Sorentto but they do have a bus that runs gratis but not too often. Nice walk if you choose to go to town.
We stayed B&B and the breakfast was as good as I've experienced anywhere. The general hotel facilities were comfortable and the staff always very professional. Excellant local restaurant at the top of the road and reasonable local bus service to the heart of Sorrento. Given the comfort of the hotel's public areas, the bedrooms were a little disappointing. The colour scheme and cheap looking flatpack furniture gave them a slightly unwelcoming ambience, though they were certainly clean. Our Superior Twin with large balcony was at ground level, overlooking the bin area.
Having stayed there twice before we chose the hotel because we new the quality of service and the location of the hotel was what we wanted
The staff was wonderful. We stayed there twice and the second room we had with a balcony was a little smaller than the first. The bathroom was smaller too. Overall, very, very nice. The restaurant only had a fixed price for dinner. Food was good but not great. A little far out of town but they have a shuttle that takes you close to town.
The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful - all of them from the cleaners to the managers - they go out of their way to make you feel welcome - nothing is too much trouble. My suggestion last year was that a later courtesy bus back to the hotel would be welcome and this has been put in place. We would not hesitate in returning to the hotel again. There was nothing to criticise
i liked everything about hotel caravel, the pool area was spotless and very relaxing, staff were very helpful, found no fault at all
Lovely food, staff and communal areas, only negative is that the bedrooms are small in size
Location on the rocky coast for access to Pompeii. Smallness of hotel and personal attention from restaurant staff who were excellent. Wood and stone surroundings perfect with environment - great breakfasts! Room terraces great! One big discomfort - the beds were too hard and we could not sleep well - woke up with aches every morning. Hairdryer was not good enough to deal with two persons blowdry as it kept turning off. Pool temp (20c) too cold, jacuzzi not sufficient for all guests to cool down in the hot sun - would suggest pool kept at 25 -26c or at sea temp. On weekend only one pool attendant despite the club members presence - service therefore very slow and unattentive - we had to seek out personnel to get a drink! Also this made for residents area being too cramped. We never saw nor heard from management in the five days we were there which was not acceptable - other than the restaurant manager, no other interest in us a guests was initiated.
Splendid location - one of the few hotels along this coast that almost actually is situated in the water :-). Terraces are great, staff excellent (when we asked how far it was to the town they spontaneously offered a free shuttle service within 2 minutes!!). Great hotel!
Staff were very attentive. The location and view was spectacular. The food was exsquisite not only flavour but presentation. Truly an affordable 5* resort! Very tranquil and suited to both younger and more mature travellers looking for a modern elegant getaway. The pool is fed by the sea, great if you enjoy swimming in the ocean but prefer calm waters (no waves).
The Driver with the glasses in the evenings (who's name eludes me) was very accomodating. Proper nice chap. Thnkyou. Oh yeah & the view
The hotel was beautiful with breathtaking views, the staff was friendly and very accommodating. We would definitely return and stay for a couple of weeks.
The wonderful location right on the sea and the hotel's design which resembled being on a ship - combined with friendly and efficient staff.
Perfect Service, very nice location The design of the rooms is not exactly *****
A wonderful small hotel with an amazing location at the water side. You wake and fall asleep to the sound of the ocean... Everything in detail styled.
This hotel - int this price cat - is the best one on the Amalfi Coast, we travelled around and spent some time to find out> did we choosed well or not? Yes, this was the best. -
It was a super experience , execellent Service, i`love come back again Internet
The owners were very friendly; the food was unpretentious and very good quality. The room had a nice balcony. It was very disappointing, inconvenient and embarrassing, to be told at the moment of departure, that they were only able to accept cash (which we did not have, and were not able (or willing) to go and get from a bank. This could and should have been discussed on arrival, and spoiled the feel of the stay.
It is perfect location and place, if you speak italian and have cash (no cards accepted:)) Very nice people. We were very shy at the begining, but wanted to try some local vegetables. After we asked we got some tomatos.Very good. Location is absolutely ok as you have perfect views and can access to most attractions by bus or car. Breakfast a bit poor, but I think it is about communication :) Ask and get.
Great place. Very friendly. Very clean. Make sure you check out the "Castello" (ca. 500m. from Luna d'Agerola). Incredible view from that place. Ask at Luna d'Agerola for directions.
This is a great location for exploring the Amalfi area, and the food in the restaurant was very good. The hardest part was finding the hotel, as there are lots of narrow winding roads in the area - you actually go to the village of San Lazarro, from there sign posts direct you to the hotel.
Nice view, quiet, friendly
the area is willdy and beautiful view. the all familly are the staff and they made efforts to give us good food and help with tips about adventure and all we aske. it,s better to take the room in the last floor because we had noice from it.
Excellent food prepared by family owners. Beds were comfortable. Floor was a little dirty. Bathroom was a seperate room which was a little strange. The road to the hotel is long, winding, and narrow but drivable. Welcome to the Amalfi Coast.
the scenery and pool area
the veiw, the staf, every thing no
Facilities were very good with the tennis court and pool. Also the hotel location was excellent. There seem to be no twin rooms which can be a probablem if you are travelling with a friend. However the hotel staff found us a larger room but my friend still had to sleep on a sofa bed.
Good restaurant and helpful staff. Great view from room. The rooms and hallways are in need of updating. Hallway carpets, room furniture and bedding need to be updated.
nice hotel in a good location
The restaurant had a limited buffet menu. There was difficulty getting food outside the restaurant rigid schedule.
The pool Location was a quite a bit of a steep walk from the beach, that was no problem for us although maybe for others
We were very dissappointed with our stay the first impression was very bad they try to put us in a standard room when we had paid for classic triple sea view. There was no sea view. The staff did not understand us lanuage barrier which was very frustrating. Rooms needed alick of paint black marks on the walls. Things we enjoyed were the pool and the room was cleaned every day. The cleaning staff were friendly the rest of the staff could take a lesson from this a smile costs nothing.
The comfort of the room, the excellent breakfast (with lots of varieties) No internet in the rooms...They don't have any kind of shuttle to get to the hotel. We arrived at the port and were told that we need to get up to the piazza and grab the local bus to get to the hotel. No big deal when you're without luggage, but when you're carrying heavy suitcases you really don't feel on a relaxing vacation. There is a Porter company that offers this service for 7 euros per suitcase. It's kinda ridiculous when you realize that you're off to a 4 star hotel and are going to pay over 150 euro per night. One would imagine that someone else would have thought about that before you... but no. Same for the way out, you have to carry all your luggage higher on the mountain to grab the bus back to Naples.
The view was amazing. The restaurant should open to others not staying at hotel. Great food, would have liked to have friends join us for dinner, but they only charge to room and would not provide separate check for those not staying at hotel.
Quiet. very spacious and and tastefully decorated room. absolutely fabulous views.good breakfast.Always a smile from the Nuns road was narrow with no footpath
Very noisy room on the street. Very hot - with no air conditioning or even a fan. We stayed for two nights - they did not clean the room during that time. From the train station it is about 1 km to walk - taxis do not want to bring you there (as it is too close for them), so to walk with luggage - not an enjoyable experience!
Friendly nuns. Lovely roof top sitting area. Would appreciate a kettle and tea-making facility in room. 1st night ( of 4) had a stiff starchy towel. Felt a little constrained by house rules (quiet/11pm 'curfew' etc). Hot water supply for showers always seemed inadequate. I think internet use here should be free. Credit card facility malfunctioned.
Wonderful views, peaceful, clean accommodation within easy reach of tourist attractions and lovely, friendly atmosphere. Maybe a little bit time restrictive - The curfew was a little early for a holiday - perhaps midnight would be more appropriate, considering the theatre performance in Sorrento meant pre-booking a taxi which cost 22.2 euros to travel about one mile! I also met a new friend at a nearby hotel but had to rush away which was disappointing.
large room with high ceilings and double bathroom looking over a monastic garden; very private the hotel's booking service was confusing and even though it advertised a special discounted rate we were overcharged for our stay. after a number of exchanges, the hotel was still unwilling to refund us. the location is not ideal for exploring Rome and the breakfast is rather spare in an unattractive basement room.
Sitting at the terrace and looking down to the sea.
Wonderful view from our room and perfect location on the gulf of Naples. One of the nuns is speaking english. Quiet atmosphere. Personnaly we found no inconvenience but be aware that the hotel is run by nuns with implications in terms of noise or opening hours.
It was a very nice hotel. The nuns were very friendly. The building and grounds are beautiful.
This lovely convent is situated on the cliff top with glorious views of the coast towards Vesuvius - breathtaking! The nuns were very welcoming and our room was large with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. Public transport good - 10-15 minutes walk to the Circumvesuviana station, and a local bus stop outside the door. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this area.
This is a quiet, beautiful hotel with a very special atmosphere thanks to the nuns who run the place. The view from the terrace is breathtaking, and the rooms that face the sea also have a spectacular view. Our family room was reasonably spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is only served between eight and nine, which was fine in our case, but means limited flexibility. The street outside the hotel is a thoroughfare with hardly any room for pedestrians.
Excellent facilities, beautiful views - wonderful staff! Nothing
Staff were very friendly and helpful and location was excellent to expore surrounding area in both directions. Breakfast
Immaculately designed and decorated hotel, stunningly beautiful location, great room and bathroom It is a shame that a potentially fantastic hotel is let down by the performance of the head waiter and his staff. Maybe they need more training (not quite Manuel from Fawlty Towers but, at times, not far off). A full-length mirror in the room would have been useful.
Suite was big enough and had a jacuzzi Breakfast buffet: Not even good enough for a three star hotel, although they say the juices are fresh, none of them are, no selection of cheese only meat, hot chocolat milk on request seemed to be made with water and was undrinkable. Room: Main TV was in the sitting area, should have been in the bedroom instead, I missed showergel in the bathroom and the toilet didn't always flush as expected. Room service: poor, quality of the food was not what you'd expect from a gourmet hotel, one pasta was over cooked, the other pasta was under cooked. Almost an empty tray with no amneties like bread, salt, olive oil, so again very poor. No selection of wine on the RSmenu! Swimming pool not heated, ok middle east, unacceptable in Europe.
Restaurant was great, staff was great Bathroom and room small, couldn't sit straight on toilet no room for legs. Really uncomfortable.
Spectacular grounds overlooking the Bay of Napoli. Service was impeccable. Great location ... Only a few train stops away from Sorrento and 25 minute train ride to Pompeii.
nice rooms swimming pool not heated
The restaurant service needs a lot of work.
The hotel is beautifully renovated, highly technological, rooms gorgeous with all great facilities no
Room view for Naples Bay was amazing, so was the swimming pool, the garden and hotel's entrace. Staff was very friendly and I've had the best lemon yoghurt of my life. Restaurant's menu very expensive. The breakfast was delicious, but with few options. For a 5 stars should include hot dishes in the morning menu.
great pool , but freezing. nice quiet area .good place to relax the room is not 5* standard. Very hard pillows & bed.
The front desk staff were fantastic at helping organise sightseeing activities. The restaurant was really very very good We ordered room service one night and it was terrible. It was only sandwiches & my kids couldnt eat them. They were stale and not toasted enough. It was our only negative for the stay but for the price they charge you expect fresh sandwiches
The view of Vesuvius and the bay of Naples from our bedroom window was spectacular! The road to the villa was treacherous and needed a confident driver with a steady nerve to cope with the bends, potholes and especially other drivers! Google maps had directed us up a road that was purely rubble and unpassable, we eventually did a 6km detour from just a few hundred metres below the hotel to get there!
We thought that the hotel was in a very good location overlookin the Bay of Naples and Mount Versuvius, the restaurant was very good and the food delicious. Would definitely recommend for a quiet relaxing break. There is nothing we didn't like about the hotel, the only downside was the difficulty in finding it.
Excellent view on Vesuv and Naples Bay.The hotel is situated on the hill opposite the volcano Vesuv above the city Naples.Every evening we saw some big fireworks (we were here 3 days in September 2010) in Naples. One waitress in restaurant is speaking English very good, the rest of staff is speaking only in Italien. The standard evening programme in restaurant were various types of huges familly celebrations as confirmation, christenning party and wedding party. We were here 3 days in September 2010.It was a little bit tiring.
room face to the sea hotel takes 15-20 minutes walk from the taxi/bus drop off place. Nice facilities, but a little unhappy auguement with the receptionist the first day arrival.
Breathtaking view. Very kind, caring and service- minded personel. Very Nice terrace and swimming pool ( not warmed though). Very good restaurant, many ingredients coming from their own garden. Access is by steep and narrow path. Loud events ( weddings, karaoke evening). Wifi internet works only nearby the reception. Bad TV reception. Too limited menu in the restaurant for one week.
Staff were great, couldn't have been more helpful. Good Pool and sun area with good sun beds. Extremely clean and well maintained. Worth paying the extra for the better rooms. Not central but easy walking to Sant' Agnello, 20 mins walk to Sorrento. €1 by train or bus. Bar service not good but we were off season. Breakfast good quality but could use more variety. Not much there for kids.
Nice area, good location outside main busy sorrento while at the same time pretty close. Big parking for free.
All the staff at the resort were very very helpful, kind and caring. they went out of the way every day to make you feel welcome, comfortable and happy. The facilities at the resort are excellent. My partner became ill whilst at Sorrento and was hospitalised in nearby Castelamaree for our entire stay. All the hotel staff were very kind caring and extremely helpful with anything I needed and went out of there way to help make a difficult and stressful time for me be as comfortable as possible. They allowed me to stay on at the resort for 3 nights more than my original booking even when they were full. This allowed me feel safe and comfortable and not at all alone whilst my partner received treatment in the hospital.
Location excellent Local bus outside door to sorrento port to catch boat for islands.Short walk to local station to catch train to pompeii and herculaneum and Naples. Excellent breakfast and a well cooked evening nmeal when we ate there. Local minimart, and excelllent cheap restaurants to eat in or take-away. Lovely swimming pool surrounded by orange and lemon trees-nice bar snacks Wonderful view of sea a short walk away We liked constant hotwater and clean towels every day and the quiet of trees and grass in front. The opportunity to use fridge/kitchen for self catering It is basic and there are limited utensils but we found this minor compared to the advantages. Nice and quiet but could be noisy in season. I would not have wanted to be more than 2 people in the hut. There was a double bunk bed as well so presumably its for 4
an oasis to scape from the hectic atmosphere of Italy. has all the ingredients for a relaxed holiday
Great swimming pool but needs umbrellas to provide some shelter. Nice to have own "terrace" in front of chalet to eat on. Garden setting very pleasant. The chalet was not four-star (the rating of the resort). In need of definite up-dating/up-grading.
We were treated very well, everything was perfect. No
We were totally disappointed by the esperidi resort. For a start the chalet that we were given, was more like a shed or 'wendy house', with mouldy wooden cladding on the interior. When the shower was used the floor would soak up the water. Also the room was not cleaned very well at all. Under the bed was dusty etc. As far as safety goes, the kitchen was a nightmare. The gas 2 ring hob did not have an ignition switch meaning that a match had to be used to light the rings. Easier said than done, when holding the gas down and trying to light an unpredictable flame, which caused burns. The cleaning staff at the hotel were friendly, however the reception staff were very abrupt and rude. Within 20 seconds of entering the reception we were asked for payment, without even having a welcome. A 50 euro cleaning fee is also taken, which wouldn’t be so bad if it was actually clean upon entering the accommodation, but this was not the case. All kitchenware had to be cleaned before use, as was the small kitchen area. I would strongly advice people that this is not as perceived. The resort is a bus or train journey from Sorrento. And at night the walk back from the station is a 15-20min walk along a dark road. I must say that none of our upset was down to booking.com, who we have used many times before. It was an unfortunate choice of hotel!!!
Convient, lemom & orange trees outside accomodation. Reception staff pleasant. Pool good. Thought the cabins needed updated inside and could have provided a kettle and toaster/grill for cooking. Dining menu very poor, dining room staff polite but not friendly.
the friendly staff - very pleasant pool area - the grounds with orange and lemon trees. Also breakfast room. The changing of lovely white towels which were changed daily. Was very disappointed with the cabin in which we stayed. very old with stained walls in need of major refurbishment. which was highlighted more so after seeing copy of there brochure where rooms were clean and modern
