The employees at the Hotel were very friendly and polite. I missed a Gym, but else quite ok
English speaking and very helpful personel, clean and spacious room, very nice breakfast, good internet connection. Sometimes communication between restaurant and reception is bad - I was charged for a dinner, which was ordered by another room.
Service is excellent
It was very nice as we were the only English speaking there, also few tourist so poolside was very quite.Hotel more for business people.Breakfast was ver good. The main problem was distance to train station.Has to get too many taxi and that was extra expence. The hotel has a shuttle bus but out of ten trips we only got it twice. Each taxi cost @25euro.Reception said not available and that was that.
It is really good combination of price & comfort. The hotel is close to Rome, Airport & very close to Castelo Romani outtlet. 1) The real name of the place is Best Western Selena Hotel Sport village. For check in you need to apply to Selena reception. But it is really hard to find out. 2) Our room was very dirty, especially bathroom!!! 3) There is a kitchinet in the room, but not even one plate or spoon. It is really strange.
Large rooms, Nice decoration, Friendly staff, Free internet connection Some of the appliances did not work (Hair drier, TV) maybe because the holel is new and still haven't been fixed. It was difficult to locate the hotel. No sign with the hotel name
Difficult to find. The hote name is serena, not Aurea. Another reason for not easy find the hotel. Problems with elevators.
I did like hotel staff. They were very polite, helpful and warm. The address in the website (already the hotel use the address as same) is completely wrong. We found the hotel very hard, even though I had an Italian friend with me and he always talks the hotel staff in the phone. this is my advices for traveller: If you have an Italian friend with you or your Italian is best; if you have a car; if you don't like breakfasts; if you can sleep in spite of very noisy corridor; if you like smelly bath because of not working aircondition of the bath... ok, you should choose this hotel. They have big room, and excellent staff. But that's all.
Nothing Noise - Aeroplane noise and Train noise through the night. Also noise from kitchen staff from quite early in the morning. It was just too noisy
Close to the airport Did not offer a shuttle service to airport so it costed 25 euro for a 5 min ride! Bathroom was extreamly small.
Absolutely not a 3 star - looks more like a no frills 2 star
basic accommodation, cheap noisy at night internal sound proofing poor, room ventilation poor ok for overnight before catching plane
Good Parking facilities and a good location for access to Rome's Ciampino Airport - oversall a generally good, clean, and practical Hotel. It was quite difficult to find initially as not many signposts around the area and a very basic breakfast.
Very nice and helpfull staff. There was no siwmming pool as advertised.
Air conditioning not working... childs cot filthy and broken. Swimming pool not in use. I had to carry childs cot to another room my self. Train running at the back of hotel. Planes landing during the night 500 meters from hotel. Strong smell of must in the rooms with mildew growing on the shower tiles.Shower door falling off so over all resembled a remake of faulty towers. All of the above.
Very clean, personnel kind, the hall is cold but rooms are very comfortable. The hotel is not that far from the airport of Ciampino, but, nevertheless, difficult to reach in the night and only by taxi (30 euros for less than 2 km!!!) No possibility of choice at the breakfast: they only serve 1 cappuccino, 1 croissant, 1 sandwich with jam or butter and a juice. Situated close to the airport and the railway, you can wake up at every train passing and from 6 a.m. by airplanes
This hotel is very convenient to the airport, and we had an early flight. It is a budget hotel and good for the cost. Taxi for 5 minutes to airport cost over 30euro, starting at 19euro when we got in. This wiped out the savings of a budget hotel. We could hear the people in the room next door at 1:30am like they were in our room. We could hear the sink turn on, etc. as well.
Excellent hotel: nice, modern rooms with all necessary comfort (flatscreen TV, A/C, internet connection,...).
hot room, no internet in room
The hotel is 20 km from Rome if you don't have a car it's complicate to get to Rome and from Rome
A clean and bright hotel but giving the impression of being designed for business people. Quite well located outside the centre of Rome for easy access to the airports. Plenty of car parking space. Defect in room repaired quickly. Good for a one-night stay. Not in a very pleasant area (more of an industrial estate) or very easy to find. Staff rather impersonal, drink and food very expensive. Unable to use laptop in room and got the impression that this was a common occurrence, although we could use it in a communal area.
The accomodations are really of a 4 star hotel. Nice room with big bathroom. Huge swimming pool... The service is way below a 2 star hotel. Reception staff has absolutly no interest in solving our problems. The breakfast is a joke: 2 types of bread, pie and yogurt. No eggs, bacon, sausages, cakes, etc... On the description of the hotel they say that they have free wifi all over the hotel. Big lie. The wifi is only in the lobby and the internet in the bedroom is charged (they give you 1 hour a day for free). I complained about that with booking.com and they were extremely helpful contacting the hotel. But after my complaint they left me without internet for 3 days saying there was a problem with the cable network. Terrible experience!
Room has modern style No food in frigobar in the room, you need to go to machine outside.
I particularly appreciated the very respectful and genuinely accommodating reception, beautifully furnished and spaciious room with a bathroom that upholds the reputation for Italian design. The mattress was a bit "bumpy" and the pillows equally so. The breakfast room was beautifully welcoming but I have experienced better breakfast buffets at 3 star hotels. Even though it is closer to the airport (my reason for choice for my last night in Rome), I could not recommend this hotel for its far commute to the city center. One would have to take a bus to to the metro station Laurentina which is a fair distance from Termini.
There was not aircondition for two nights and it was damaged . they informed me wrong information . I am un satisfy from this hotel , we can book much better hotel with half price . I expect to return money of half amount .
The hotel facilities were absolutely great. Very clean, spacious and quiet rooms. I appreciated the shuttle bus service from the Pomezia train station.
I could not get on to the internet all week even though I told hotel staff I was having a praoblem.
Proximity to the airport Restaurant - poor choice of food in the menu, very small portions, service in restaurant was below average.
Politeness of the staff.
Nice comfortable rooms with air conditioning, friendly staff. No swimming pool, restaurant closed on sunday, far away from nearest city.
Smart looking hotel with good quality room Location felt a bit like being on an industrial estate
good facilities (internet, sky tv) for the price. Room is clean. Room quality is not appropriate for a 4 star hotel.
Very kind staff and clean room
Hotel was comfortable and staff were nice enough. The Location of the hotel was out of town by the motorway, no way to walk safely into town, only stay if you intend to drive.
decor7 ambiance of hotel quiet
Very run-down. Marked walls, torn wallpaper. Air-con not working properly. Staff slow and unhelpful. Restaurant staff no better - dropped our drinks and left floor wet. Hotel in the middle of nowhere. Regret not picking a hotel closer to the airport for convienience - even if a little more expensive.
Desk staff helped to obtain food and driver no resturaunt near by and the one on site was closed
According to well known name, the rooms were too old fashioned. I know it's a standard for these international hotels, but sometimes could be fine to present the rooms adding a typical country style (or even better with typical area style) also for abroad hotel, I suppose. Air condition system. Too much noisy
The TV did not work
Friendly, attentive and helpful staff.
Big screen tv, satelit tv, good Bed and breakfast. Is not far from Rome. Room and personal are ok. The shower need to be change.
comfort and hospitality, easy access to town lack of hotel transportation to and from airport
The Hotel staff was very helpful, the price, and proximity to train station. Our bathtub had mold in the corners.
Very clean...America-type facilities...staff very friendly and spoke English...excellant bathroom facilities Restaurant was closed and we had to order pizza, which was okay but would have liked to sit down to eat
Price was good. Extremely noisy. Room doors are self closing, and when they do they bang very loudly so everytime anyone in the corridor closes the door you wake up immediately scared.
Nice large rroms, marble flooring Ac too cold and noisy - turned it off
Staff very helpful. Got caught in Italy during the volcano and staff was able to locate another hotel for me as they were full Location is out, need trasnportation to get around. Wireless did not reach top floor. Worked fine in lobby
I am happy I made the choice.
The interior design is beautiful and staff very friendly! That the spa had such limited hours, while I wanted after 8 pm or very early in the morning.
Cheerful and helpful staff, Travelling with3 children we were allowed into the rooms early. Nothing appeared to be too difficult.
Very helpful staff, wonderful location.
Unfortunately, on a couple of occasions due to late night functions it was quite noisy.
The staff were particularly helpful and the food was extremely good. The view from our room and the verandah was striking. Coffee machines in the breakfast room rather than proper coffee.
The staff was very friendly, room was clean and comfortable, breakfast good.
The hotel is relatively close to the town centre. The free car park was a positive thing. I did not have much of contact with the staff, but they seem to be friendly. The hotel was under renovation. Therefore, I was annoying at one time due to that. I have stayed at the same hotel a couple of years ago and it was fine (and I think it is still fine).
Beautiful area, near to town, very relaxing
The hotel was great. The staff was helpful
Nobody speaks English, poor service of personel, dirty rooms, tv doesnt work, door lock on terrace broken
Beautiful setting, Hotel decoration is excellent and charming. Very good value for money. When we arrived we were told we could book a table for dinner, later that evening we tried to book a table but we were told we could not because of weddings and had to walk to Castel Gandolfo for our meal. Noise from the weddings was a little excessive at times when we tried to sleep.
View was fantastic, restaurant was very good, town was a short walk and had several restaurants, shops and, of course, the Pope,s residence.
View of lake. Old/small room. Bed wasn't very comfortable.
Tried desparately to cancel my Rome accommodation to stay an additional day- staff excellent and couldn't do enough
the restorant very small bathroom, especially shower cabin
Very nice hotel with ample size room. Shower small, but common with Italian hotels.
Beautifull place to have a break and relax, with very friendly and helpul staff.
The staff were very helpful, polite and hospitable. The dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced. The view from the room is spectacular. The pool area was not furnished and the pool needed vacuuming. The room fan was very noisy. The breakfast was very mediocre and the coffee dreadful.
the location was off and we reached there a bit late in the evening and the station was deserted and scary. the room was very small and we had absolutely no space to move inside the room. when asked, they say all rooms in the hotel are of the same size. well, i don't have anything strong to recommend this hotel. the food we had for dinner was billed more even after clearly informing them of the dishes we had opted for. the bill should have normally been around 45 to 50 euros and the bill we got was for 76 euros. then they said they wrongly billed some items!!!!! strange indeed..
Originality of the room, access with car, private car parking Suggested improvement: glasses in minibar and in bathroom, more accessories in bathroom (kleenex, showercap)
nice and clean, pretty new wifi was very slow...
Modern furniture. No wireless internet.
modern rooms breakfast room & choice of food
Very nice hotel with modern design. Small room but everything was designed perfectlly. I like the automation (lights etc). It had coffe maker in the room (with charge), microwave oven, VCR, Private parking outside the room. Good price for the room. A/C had a problem and room was cold. The receptionist had to close entire A/C. Shower shouldn't have, transparent glass. In case you travel with a non close person (wife girlfriend) there is a problem. The doors should open automatically without having to get outside the car and rign the bell. I was told to pay in advance during check in.
Flat screen t.v. Not enough toilet paper and no access to it after hours, hard to reach location, no signs, no food to buy around the area
The shjower in the bedroom!!
parking outside the room we spent 2 hours trying to find the hotel, it had no sign out side what so ever
Good value! Clean, secure and comfortable room with large flat screen. No restaurant on the facility to serve a continental breakfast. No hotel signs anywhere to identify the hotel. Fortunately the gas station attendant next door knew it.
it was a very good experience to stay in this hotel we had a very good time everything was good
the building was beautiful..........great history.........the views and grounds amazing hard to find in the dark, need very clear directions
Great view over Rome Don't stay here if you want a 4 star hotel - its more 3 star! If that. No staff, you have to ask for someone to come to the bar, not that you would want to drink in their bar! The wind whistled in through the windon when closed and to top it off there was no hot water in the morning. The staff didn't care and I had to really complain before they would do anything about refunding part of what we had paid. I would rather have had a show than a refund but the attitude of the staff wasn't good. Oh and we chose this hotel to be not too far from Champino Airport, it still took an hour in the morning traffic.
location - spectactular - and close to where I needed to work
A very grand building. There were very few guests there. Rooms were pleasant. Pool much smaller then picture indicates Restaurant was expensive and service quirky, all the courses arrived together. Howling dogs from nearby kennels and inadequate air conditioning with no controls made for a restless night.
amazing location and building. Small rooms
Near Roma Ciampino Airport. Staff was unfriendly
Everything is perfect ! Progress after progress !
An exceptional view, great old villa in the hills outside of Rome. Exceptional value for money. Not perfect if you're visiting Rome and want to see the main tourist attractions though: it's very far out of the city.
attractive location, food good. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Reception mixed. some very helpful others more offhand Conferences took over the hotel at the expense of individual travellers. eg.the only bar was used for conference events, as was the outside terrace
The Hotel Rooms, ( not bedroom ), quiet and surroundings, Could be a great Hotel but have missed opportunities and lost direction somewhere. Staff, Food & Drink, Pricing - E.G. Charging for Carafe of water clearer filled from Tap, Bedroom, Smallest tv ever, Sewerage Smells from Bathroom and Charging Guest for use of of Pool & Sauna. Not made clear how far out of town this hotel actually is.Very few guest there and made to feel as if we were an inconvenience. In complete contrast the Hotel we went to in Roma we were made to feel we were the only guests in the hotel.
The hotel is handy for the train station in Frascati..(15mins walk downhill but 25 mins uphill) Maybe I was just unlucky but my single room was very small and not very clean
