close to the beach
Staff was great and very helpful.
The staff was excellent, very helpful and very friendly. The beach across the road was beautiful and very calm.
we loved the location, the entertainment on sat night was great, traditional greek dancers and music, a couple of clubs near port for the older kids. bus, taxis, ferries, and water taxis all on hand. this is a very nice relaxing island, galata across the port has shops also.
Rooms, view, location Bar service, v poor breakfast
the balcony views no entertainment
Beach very near, excellent service, a smile every morning from hotel staff.Very quiet.
Service was just amazing! Very Beurifull location- Highly recommended
This hotel was right across from the funky beach. The view was fantastic and we were given a voucher which entitled us to half price beach chairs. Five minutes by bus into town where we found plenty of cafes and eateries. Staff were helpful and gave provided advice when necessary. Even gave us a bottle of wine on check out. There was a very unpleasant smell which came from the bathroom drains - we had to always keep the door closed.
Ferries went on strike and we couldn't get to the island. I called they told me they would refund me since we couldn't get to the island and send me a confirmation, they never did anything they said and did not refund me. Clearly don't trust these folks
Easy to get to and the beach being across the street was ideal. Lunch or dinner the food was excellent, breakfast was okay. The mattresses where too stiff.
The staff were remarkably friendly and helpful. When we asked for a glass of ice, and hot water, they provided a whole pack of ice cubes and a hot water kettle immediately. The hotel's location just a minute's walk from the ferry dock was also superb. Nothing to complain about!
The staff was extremely nice, the location is great and the price is right for a hotel of this class. We would definitely stay there again. They have no elevator.
The hotel is located in the centre of the old town, and is surrounded by nice restaurants. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are large and clean. I will come back and stay here for sure.
The room and bathroom was spotless clean. It looked and felt clean too. The hotel is very close to the port, 1 minute walk and has excellent view from the balcony. I stayed for 3 nights and was very pleased with the hotel.
The hotel is very near the ferry to the island, in a quiet neighbourhood despite its central locaton. Our room had a nice view of the sea and it was not unusual to see the masts of the passing sailboats from the tiny balcony. Its central location makes walking all around the town of Poros very pleasant and interesting. There are no meal facilities at all, not even breakfast, downgrading it from a hotel to a bedsit, since it cannot even be qualified as a B and B guesthouse. The tiny refrigerator did not facilitate the situation, since milk and water bottles had to be bought in small sizes to fit. It also cannot make ice, so every time we wanted a longdrink or a simple whisky on the rocks we had to ask the really polite young lady at reception to get us some from a neighbouting cafeteria. Also, since the whole hotel is in reality a converted family home, there is no lift and we had to carry the luggage up to the second floor ourselves.
The hotel is clean, comfortable, with excellent service and friendly staff. It is located right in the middle of Poros. From our balcony we could see the lively animation of the harbor, with its ferries, yachts and restaurants. However, a good pair of wooden shutters meant we could make the room quiet whenever desired. Flying dolphins (fast ferries) from Athens and water taxis from the mainland (Galatas) arrive right in front of the hotel, which means there is no need for taxis when getting there. Over-all, a very charming little hotel in a charming island, only one hour from Athens by fast ferry. Poros is also very well located to visit sites in the Peloponnese, such as Epidavros, Myceanae, Argos, Nafplio, Olympia, etc...
The hotel staff were very helpful and polite.
Newly refurbished, tastefully done. Good location, just off main street. View of sea.
I loved the location of the hotel in Poros and the warmth of the staff. The friendliness of the locals, great food, views and relaxation all there.
excellent staff, make you very welcome, most of their clients are returning customers
Quiet and quaint. Friendly staff. Walkng distance to everything. Good breakfast. Great view. Stay was in shoulder/off season so not many other guests. Hotel could stand a little TLC/up-dating - but generally very functional.
The family were always very pleasant, and welcoming. Our room had a wonderful view over water to the mainland, and of the hotel pool.
Very nice and friendly staff. You feel welcome and taken care of the moment you walk in. This family owned hotel organizes wonderful BBQ:s on the roof the a view over the city of Poros and harbor. When we were checking out the owner even drove us to the harbor as a favor! The hotel is just a few minutes by scooter away from Love Bay which is Poros cleanest and most beautiful beach. I highly recommend a stay at Saga Hotel.
We were given a warm welcome and encouraged to make the most of the facilities. The room was large enough and gave a pleasant view across the bay. My only comment relates to the cost. We arrived after 2200 and left before 1000 the following morning, so 75 Euros was more than I would have wanted to pay for such a brief stay. However I appreciate that the price is consistent with equivalent hotels.
Great hospitality. We really enjoyed being a guest at Saga Hotel.
The hotel has good location, 10 minutes to walk to the beach or downtown. Friendly staff and owners. Fantastic fascinating island, even for us who do not have sailingboat :-)
great hotel and big rooms. The staff are lovely and the pool is fantastic
Beautiful location. Sun deck. The service in almost all areas was very slow and bordering on rude. Initially staff was very unfriendly and we sometimes felt ignored. On the last 2 days of our stay the staff did warm up to us but they really should have been friendly from day one.
They offer an excellent view. All rooms have sea view and are a few meters from it. Restaurant is very good. Be aware the hotel is split in two buildings. The new and the old building. The old building, the one we stayed is totally unacceptable for the price. The beds are old and not comfortable and water runs from the shower to the room. The new building should be better, but we did not see any rooms there. Also double beds were not available and single beds cannot be merged.
This recently renovated resort is ideal for families with young children. It has a private beach with a natural shade under the trees, beach bar and taverna where one can have a delicious meal right after swimming. At night, there is a roof garden chic restaurant with light live music (with greek and international songs). Accommodation prices are on the high end, though the cost for lunches and drinks is very reasonable. Cleaning service should be checked / monitored. Our bed linen was not changed, which is not acceptable for a 4 star hotel.
Clean and beautiful hotel, friendly staff, nice food, excellent all round.Highly recommended ! Parking during the weekend.
The hotel is on a beautiful location, and the interior is very luxurious. (we stayed in a deluxe room) The staff is helpful and very friendly. The Taverne serves great food during lunch, and is good value for money, and the rooftop lounge area offers stunning views. I am already planning my next visit there, and will recommend the hotel to everyone I know. Although the bathroom was beautifully designed, it was somewhat difficult to take a shower without getting the entire bathroom wet. This was only a minor inconvenience, and the room was cleaned twice a day.
Excellent seaside view. And nice pool. Wasn't crowded when we there
Great spot, incredible view! Even though the bathroom was a ltlle behind the incredible lobby and terrasse all in all it is a great place to stay. And the staff was amazing - so friendly and helpful.
outstanding service always with a smile the older part of the resort needs updating i n the bath dept
I booked a twin room and i stayed in a studio with four beds that hadn't even the ability to move in order to make them kind of twin bed... Not exactly the romantic weekend we had in mind. I would not stay in that hotel again.
The apartment was very poor. The stove was extremely old there were no cooking supplies to use for the stove e.g. pan .There were no phones and the tv was given after request and was broken. In the room with no aircondition there wasn't even a fan and it was very hot. The apartment needs renovation.
It was close to everything we wanted to do, clean and everyone was nice. The location was excellent. It would be nice if there were an elevator available to rooms.
The staff was nice, views from the room excellent ect.
near to the boat to Athen one hour with boat from Athen I would like a terrace I didn´t like the smell and noice of the boats.
The location of the hotel was brilliant. It's hard to decide what was the best thing about it. It's difficult to choose between sitting on our private balcony looking out across the harbour watching the sun set, then the lights twinkling along the opposite harbour or just to sit with a glass of wine watching the world go by. The bedroom whilst small was perfectldy adequate but the layout of the furniture meant that only one of the wardrobe doors could be opened so we had to use our suitcase as a chest of drawers. Not ideal.
The day I was leaving. Location (loud with ships arriving/leaving right in front), size of the room, price in relation to offer (even if off-season), service not up to speed.
Excellent location/. wonderfull views/ good restaurants close at hand no
We had an ocean front room with balcony that was great. Beautiful view. Hotel Staff was great and spoke very good english. Location was 50 yards from ferry drop off and was well centered in the small town of Poros. I told them it was our honeymoon and they left us a bottle of wine with a very nice hand written note. I wish we could have spent more time there, it was great.
It was very close to the ferry stop. It is very central in Poros. We booked a triple room and a double room, but we only got two double rooms.
Right in the port, interesting views from balcony. Room very comfortable and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.
1. The excellent view from the room 2. The overlooking-the-port position of the building 3. Very easy access to anyplace in town and to ferries, taxis and busses 1. No elevator 2. Breakfast in a noisy cafe down the road [very nice breakfast though] 3. Very narrow room balcony [what a pitty!] 4. Large furniture in rather small areas 5. A pair of plates, glasses and cutlery should be available in the room
great location, beautiful views, great beach and pool, exceptionally clean hotel, and wonderful and helpful manager. did not have restaurant and bar open for dinner due to limited occupancy.
great manager who recognised our return; extended our depart time so we could swim all morning into afternoon; supurb for the quiet holiday on beautiful island of Poros. lrg room on corner rec. no
Location close to the beach and ferry excellent views
location and view, clean. beds were hard.
Excellent. Small private beach, beautiful view on the bay. Very nice stay overall. 2nd floor aircondition couldn't make it during the heat (36 degrees).
Bad aircondition, the breakfest was really bad.
Very friendly people The confirmation did not contain an address that can be found by gsm, and the map included in the confirmation is wrong. Very difficult to find!
The room was very nice, with a balcony over-looking the little port. The staff was very friendly and helpful; the manager even brought us coffee and home-made cakes one morning. There was a fridge and a kitchen space too. I whole-heartedly recommend this hotel and island! The shower got the bathroom quite wet, but we encountered this at all the hotels we stayed at in Greece, and it was not worse than the other ones. Other than that, I have nothing negative to say!
Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and even met us from the ferry and drove us up to the hotel. The hotel is well situated, though there is a short but steep climb to it. The room was a good size, with a small kithchen and en-suite shower room, and there was a good view from the balcony. The air conditioning worked effectively. The toilet was un-flushed on our arrival, and there was a pubic hair in the sink. There was also a bad smell from the shower drain. The bed sheets were clean but some were stained none the less. There is clearly an issue with the electricity supply, as the cooker often tripped the fuse switch. Room was double booked on last day. I'd recommend only if you're on a tight budget.
the room is comfortable with a sea view. with kitchen, balcony and roof platform it is a wonderful experience. it will be better if a local route map could be provided
views from our balcony, size of the room, comfortable beds on arrival there was no staff present, however they were very helpful when they were around.
It was very comfortable with adequate facilities and nice view from the balcony. The location was quite near to the beach, so we did not have to use the car.
The owner was very nice, when we had confusion about getting the key he drove to meet us at the Studios rather than making us walk all the way back to the port area by the office I think it should have been more clear that you needed to check in/pick up the key at a different place than where the actual Studios were.
the garden well either I misunderstood or... I had the impression that they wouldn't charge my credit card and that I would pay cash on arrival but they had already charged my card when I got there
Quiet location and almost private pool. No breakfast available or wi fi, as advertised
Some of the best studios i have found in 25 years of visiting Greece. Location peaceful with nice pool and lawn.Local shops very close and good selection of eating places nearby. Not far to beach. Excellent bus and taxi services. Very helpful owner who arranged transfers.
Very nice! Beautiful. Grocery and bike rental stores are within a block of the rooms, away from the waterfront. Restaurants on the strand. It was not mentioned in the booking that you must get your key to check at the Askeli Travel Office in the town of Poros, near the docking area for the ferries, and not at the location of the rooms. Continental breakfast and wireless service that was mentioned in the booking information was not in fact available. The folks that run the place are very nice! ~and a small note: no toilet paper allowed down the toilet, and no phone at the room. I asked very nice locals to help me call the main number to learn how to get the key to the room, and to call a cab into town upon departure. I would book here again. No.
very convenient for beach, good pool, staff helpful, air conditioning good, cleaned daily, parking for car nearby. just some comments but not a complaint.could hear noise if other residents up late. small electric dual hot plate, no kettle so watr heated in pan ,basic kitchen utensils. no internet access. keys should be collected from askeli travel agency in town
Our 1 bed apartment at Kaikas Studios was perfect, it was basic but very clean with a kitchen area with hob and large balcony overlooking the lovely garden and pool. There were beautiful gravevines overhanging the balcony. It was also very close to Askeli beach and only a 10minute bike ride to Poros town.
Pool area very nice. Not too far to walk into Askeli to beach , tavernas etc. Shops , bike hire close by. Furniture and fittings disgustingly old and in dire need of refurbishment. Silverfish in abundance here. The sink in the kitchen and cupboards underneath, you wanted to wash your hands after touching them. It did its job re price but was glad to leave. Also, daft as this sounds, probably in part to the old furniture, I'm convinced the place was haunted.....very odd feelings in there, strange coldness, shadows etc etc. I contacted Askeli travel office by email prior to leaving after reading reports re checking in / key. You must get it in town from there office before heading out to the apartments. Will catch people out that one will.
