Location Definitely is not a four stars hotel.
Superb location in this amazing unesco city and with its own car parking. The hotel incorporates a castle tower which is where we chose to stay; you are warned there is no lift for the final floor but it's not a problem as the staircases are wide. Inside the hotel the lounges and restaurant areas are very spacious indeed. Good breakfast included in the price. According to reception the hotel does not get a lot of non-German visitors. Nevertheless I was surprised that on arrival the lady on duty did not speak English very well. You only get 20mins of free wlan internet. That's a big minus for a 4 star hotel. I had completely free, unlimited wlan at the 4 star we used for 4 days in Eisenach.
Very comfortable and clean. Lovely breakfast. Very helpful staff with excellent English. Shame use of Sauna not inclusive in price.
Good central location with parking. Helpful staff and good restaurant
Excellent location in the historical centre, very quiet, very good facilities, great breakfast
modern part of the hotel is very uggly.
5* service at a 4* hotel!
The charming location in the town and it was a very nice hotel. Great value for the money
Good location, great breakfast. Our room was in the attic with quite a steep roof, which strongly reduced the room size.
Tha location is very good in the center of the town..The breakfast is good and room is clean. nothing
Was ok for 2 nights. The cleaning was not stanfard. Breakfast: getting a clean table, you have to jave Luck. The staff likes to discuss. And at all next time i will go to Hotel am Brühl few meters further and with much better food. Die Reinigung ist ärmlich im bad ist schimmel und beim frühstück einen sauberen tisch zu finden ist schwierig.
It is close to the old town and comfortable. Great for us as a middle aged couple. The room was quiet and wll appointed.
We stayed in an apartment room, it was very comfortable and the facilities in the room were good, we didn't end up cooking for ourselves but there was plenty of equipment, and a full sized fridge. The breakfast was excellent, a really good selection of local specialities as well as what you would expect to see. During our 3 night stay our room was not cleaned at all, the bins were not even emptied and in fact though the bathroom was clean when we arrived there was still some rubbish in the bin in there(underpants actually). I don't know whether this was because it was an apartment room, and whether this is normal for this type of room, but i would have liked to have had the bins emptied at the least, and ideally the bathroom cleaned. Our room was also very noisy on account of the proximity of the main road, however the location was excellent for the schloss and dom.
The hotel was clean and all of the staff were friendly. It was in a great location!!
The hotel is an a good location, the rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good, there is free parking. The room price is quite high, there is no free access to internet at the hotel.
Excellent location. Good parking. Nice, bright room.
Friendly staff, good location, good breakfast, nice atmosphere.
Location...walking distance to the Xmas market. The heating system was set on too high a setting and the shower was asthmatic.
Friendly staff no
Very friendly & helpful staff, lovely hotel and environment. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent food and service in the restaurant. Easy walking to the old town, and to the countryside.
Great staff Room was very clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable Very good breakfast
Great location, very friendly staff. Altough English is not spoken one can receive a familiy-like treatment. It is 10seconds (really seconds) from the main attractions of the town. No English Spoken
This is a wonderful hotel located at the base of the hill leading up to the church/castle. We visited during a heat wave and a large fan was in the room. Also we were given large glasses of cold mineral water by the welcoming staff. The location on a small street off the main road was quiet.
situated close to city centre parking too small
The hotel is across the street from the castle. Yet, the location was nice and quite. This was very nice. Free internet - great. The staff was great, too. Example, they saw me standing outside. They brought out a chair for me to use. Also, I needed to check out early on my last day. They started breakfast early just for me. room was small. The price and everything else was right and I was staying alone, so this was not a problem.
The hotel is an old timber framed building close to the centre of Quedlinberg. Our room was large and well furnished. The staff did not speak good English but were friendly and made themselves understood. Breakfast was fine. There is room for off road parking of about 8 cars behind the hotel. The hotel offers free wifi in all rooms. We would have liked to have stayed longer.
good location, friendly staff nice choice for breakfast, Problem with work being carried out in the town machines noise 6-45am not hotels fault
the hotel is in a wonderful position the landlady is very kind and friendly and breakfast is really very good there is just a very nasty person workin there fortunately we met her just once, she didnt spoil our stayn anyway .very good
The staff was very helpful. It was clean and comfortable. The location was great!
Great hotel, superb location, friendly staff & the breakfast was superb.
Beautiful room - great location - extremely helpful and accommodating staff - excellent experience No
Location, small hotel, very quiet hotel We stayed at room nr.17. The room is lovely but its very bright. We woke up very early in the morning due to the light coming in and the very poor curtains.
The hotel is located right on the market square making it easy to explore Quedingburg on foot and return to one's hotel room as needed. The breakfast was very good as well and it was great to have hotel parking nearby,
hotel had a lot of character and was in an excellent location. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was not open on sunday evening and we were unable to find a restaurant that had english speaking staff or an english menu.
The service was outstanding--courteous, welcoming, very helpful. The room was pleasant and very comfortable; and breakfast was excellent. The location is perfect--right on the pretty market square. For us this hotel lived up to all of its excellent reviews. We liked everything about this hotel. It does not have an elevator, which might make it difficult for anyone who could not negotiate the stairs.
The staff were friendly and helpful, rooms comfortable and standards of cleaniness high. The breakfasts had a wide selection of foods and the service was excellent. We ate in the restaurant attached to the hotel which although a little expensive, provided a most enjoyable dinner. A minor point: it was suggested in the brochure there would be a safe in the room but we were unable to find it!
location, short walk to aldstadt, free parking, lovely setting, patio, lounge, beautiful breakfast room no ac,wedding reception noisey.had to close window,so room was hot, overpriced lunch and menu 8,5 euro for essentially broth with a few vegetables.salad 11 euros.not a good valu.wifi,8 euro an hour.contrary to other reviews,we did not receive water in our room and no hot items at breakfast
Very comfortable and attractive room. Also very nice loung with a fireplace.
Good quality hotel, easy walking distance to the centre of Quedlinburg. Well positioned and quiet. No
I enjoyed the free minibar service that I had not expected.
Due to road construction work during my stay, the access to hotel by car was extremely difficult in such a old town like Quedlinburg. However hotel staff was very kind in showing how to drive to the hotel.
Beautiful hotel, ideal location and lovely staff!
Breakfast is ok. Far from town centre. Limited parking lots in front of lobby. There is only one staff at the front desk and she is so busy and provide very little information. Some furniture are old (may be intentional).
I thought the hotel was charming and the staff very helpful. I found it to be excellent value for the money. Breakfast was impressive, and the food in the Weinstube was outstanding.
The hotel is comfortable and in a beautiful area. I would have liked a bit more information about restaurants and so on in the town, but to be fair I didn't actually ask. Staff seemed a little distant.
Cosy hotel, great location, good value for money. Great breakfast. Mainly German tourists which made a pleasant change. Finding the car-park was a bit on a nightmare - the town is beautiful but has a horrific one way system necessary to keep traffic out of the town
The hotelstaff was very friendly and helpful. The room was large and cosy. The surrounding nature is good for hiking. The beds were not very good. We both had problems with our back after sleeping in them.
Design of the hotel is outstanding, personnel is skilled and very pleasant, breakfast was really good
liked it very much no
good traditional hotel on the main square. Quiet rooms at the back. Free parking.
The town it was in
Excellent dinner (room service is available) and breakfest; Good location; Kindly stuff (although they cannot speak English fluently, but they did their best to help us for everything); lovely and clean room.
good location in center of the town. Nice rooms, which were clean. no
Very helpful and welcoming staff. Good location close to town centre. Very spacious, clean and comfortable bedroom. It looks a bit run down from the outside. You enter through a side door and are immediately faced with a set of narrow painted stairs which lead to the upper floor bedrooms. Reception is downstairs and round a corner so first impressions were surprise rather than a warm welcome (but staff when we found them were very welcoming).
The service was excellent, but we were the only people staying there and that felt a bit strange.
The room was comfortable and the view was beautiful. The location of the hotel is close to the centre. Although advertised, there was no internet access. They don't accept all credit cards.
size of room, location no lift
The view was lovely out of the top floor windows, especially early in the morning when all the fire chimneys were going, it was very Oliver Twist. The town really takes you back several hundred years, very eerie......But definately worth a trip to see the towns achitecture and castle. Quite a historically significant little part of germany in the end. Would suggest Stephen King should visit! As we were the only people staying there, the central heating was not turned on and no fire place lit, so it was quite chilly whilst having dinner in the restaurant area. Mind you a bottle of red soon sorted that out! And yes climbing to the top of the stairs was not great, so we didnt remove our luggage from the boot. Just took upstairs the clothes we needed for the next day and basic bathroom things.
Lovely old building, with no less than three city wall towers in the grounds. Excellent terrace for dining, and above average breakfast. Rear access leads pretty well straight into the main square of Quedlinburg Our room was on the fourth floor and there was no lift! Dinner on the second night was good, but service painfully slow. One other couple abandoned ship after a 45 minute wait between courses. No curtains in the bedroom windows, which were small with stained glass edges. Not good for light sleepers
We were travelling across Germany and unfortunately our baby became ill on the morning we were due to arrive. All the staff were very kind and understanding; we could not have asked to stay with nicer people. As for the hotel itself, it was clean, comfortable and very relaxing manor house, standing in lovely grounds just a very short walk from the main square. The terrace has a view over the peaceful rooftops of the town. We certainly hope to return again. There was no lift, but that's to be expected in a building of it's age. Walking up a few stairs wasn't a problem.
it has been an amazing experience. we lived in the most beautiful castle of the whole village of quedlinburg. I would definetely recommend this hotel. and althought the decoration was maybe not the best one, but a little too modern, it was perfectly clean and cossy!thanks for an amazing weekend!
Excellent accommodation, copious breakfast, spacious car park. Beautiful old building in the town centre, close to everywhere. Highly recommended.
It is a charming hotel on a lovely city square with a beautiful fountain. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very well kept. The city is fascinating. We had a great time. I think it is important to realize that this is an older hotel with no air conditioning, no elevator and lots of uneven flooring and steps. We had older parents with us, and it was difficult for them to manuever up the steps to the first floor (which in Europe is actually the second floor).
The window of the room faced the plaza, it is really nice. The breakfast is good. The restaurant of this hotel is recommended by a book concerning the Harz food. You can order the meal in a smaller size and of course cheaper. The meal is a bit salty for me, but my taste is light.
Friendly helpful staff, courteous at all times even when we arrived after the restaurant had closed they still prepared us a meal. The weather was very hot during our stay and the room would have benefited from some type of air conditioning or a fan otherwise it was perfect.
The room was lovely and comfortable, the food was excellent and the service fantastic, there was a nice beer garden (courtyard really) which was very pleasant and had an automatic cover to shelter you if it rained, it's in a very nice location ideally placed halfway between the centre of Quedlinburg and the train station/road access. Quedlinburg is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited. It's also wonderful for access to the Harz Mountains. The only thing which was unfortunate was that we arrived on the climactic night of a rock festival taking place right outside the hotel, so we needed the hotel's fine selection of wines to be able to sleep, but on all the subsequent nights it made us appreciate the peace and quiet even more.
The room was clean, bed comfortable, and wireless internet was available. Breakfast was outstanding. Free parking in back, too. Nonsmoking rooms are available, but smoking is allowed on the premises. While the hotel may be 300+ years old, the rooms inside are completely modern, and hence not old-world charming like we had anticipated in this lovely, half-timbered town. You have to pay for wireless internet, and if you like to read in the evening, the lighting was poor.
Despite our lack of German language, staff always made us welcome. The menu in English was appreciated. Food excellent.
An interesting town. A good trip out to Thale (easy by train) is recommended. Not much english is spoken but everyone was very helpful. It and the town fully fulfil the article in the Sunday Telegraph of Feb. 14th 2010. Article by Simon Winder "MY Kind of Town".
restuarant was particularly good. view from window into square also excellent
Good location and lovely beer-garden
Antiques in halls. Location to "old town" very good. Breakfast was good and served in a lovely room. Parking location good. Stairs are steep. If you need an elevator this can be a touch set of stairs to climb. Room on street side very loud. Request a back room if noise bothers you. No AC so windows being opened are a must!
location and the staff
Plenty of character in keeping with the design and style of the town. Safe car parking, and space to leave bicycyles. Breakfast selection a little limited.
The location was great for exploring Quedlinburg. It was not difficult to find when we came in fairly late at night. Breakfast was fine, and the room was pleasant and reasonably modern.
We liked the uniqueness of this very old hotel, the delicious breakfasts, the location (in the town center), the easy and close parking. No dilikes, but guests should be aware that there is no lift! We stayed on the fourth floor (third floor in European terms) -- quite a climb.
Friendly staff, very good breakfast and nice and clean rooms. We liked it very much!!
Warm welcome, clean rooms, convenient location
antiques and very close to town square to many stair and no one spoke any english
Charming older hotel, excellent location near the main square. Modernized comfortable room. No elevator, so some exercise involved. Somehat dificult to get to by car, but a good choice nonetheless.
Friendliness of the staff. Traffic noise from the street.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay in the hotel. It is a lovely hotel in the old town and is excellent value for money compared with surrounding hotels. The breakfast is good and the parking facility at €3 per day is excellent value.
The receptionist was very helpful with providing help with luggage and other special requests and the hotel lived up to epectations in evry way
Very friendly and accommodating.
Freindly staff None
Although the building is really old, probably around 500 years, but the bathroom has been recently refurbished and very clean. Good value for the price.
Clean and comfortable hotel. Nothing was too much trouble
cosy, friendly atmostphere no complaints
This is one of the nicest apartments we have stayed in. Tucked away right in the heart of the old town in Quedlingburg, this is a beautiful private apartment with its own small kitchen. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the small restaurant downstairs was delicious. A perfect apartment in a fantastic town. A bit hard to find first time (but thats also part of the fun)
Close the city center and sitted in a unique building. Cozy, felt like home. Feels more like a hotel-appartment than a hotel room itself. Good value for money. It was so hot the first night. We just open the windows and... things got much better next days. It would be nice if they could offer nice recommendations about where to buy food, things to visit,
Everythingh was perfect! The apartments are in the heart of the town, located in a old building, just one minute walking from the marktplatz. The apartment was clean, comfortable and with everything you aspect for your own house!
We enjoyed our stay in a charming attic room in a wonderful old building. e
Highly recommend. Old nice looking building. (No lift). Friendly staff.
Very close to the centre of Quedlingburg and easy to get to tourist interests, restaurants, cafe, shops theh hotel is not convenient if you have a car. the location is not easy to find and the phone number provided to us was incorrect so we were unable to phone the accommodation. it was necessary to actually fidn the accommodation and note down the phone number that was listed on the outside door.
good location staff and cleaness - value of money
This is the 2nd time I have stayed here, very many thanks for a great trip once again.
Unforgettably cosy and individually decorated rooms, fantastic city location and definitely value for money
The big, clean and fully equiped appartment. The central location in the town of Quedliburg. The hotel has a parking space but it is far and very hard to find. There is no cleaning service or changing of towels and sheets. This is ok for a weekend, but if you stay for 10 days, as we did, it can be a problem.
The staff was so friendly. The decor was attractive but not too distracting. The breakfast offered a nice selection, even for a 7 year old. The rooms were very clean!! The location was perfect... right on the market place. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Hotel am Hoken is a small hotel with a friendly atmosphere and a tasteful interior in harmonie with the old building. The hotel is perfectly situated beside the market sqare in Quedlinburg, but quiet in the night though. Comfortable madrasses. Its a small hotel with no other facilities than the breakfast room and the reception which is closing 8 pm. I would absolutely recommend this hotel!
Good location, good breakfast, and staff was kind.I felt like staying at private home.I will choose this hotel on the next visit of Quedlinburg. Nothing.
Location was excellent, close to the castle and close to the market square. Rooms were nice, with old wooden beams in the ceiling. Next-door restaurant/brewery is really nice, old barn-style building with good food and excellent local beer. A little bit of traffic noise from the street, nothing major.
Very good location quiet nice surroundings near the gardens and right next to the Brewery which has excellent food
Quality period pension in excellent town location with parking. Room 3 charming with cooking facilities.
I stayed at Pension St. Nikolai for 2 nights. The Pension is located within the old city, very convenient for sightseeing, and only about 10 minutes walk from the station, easy access both for car and train travelers. The room was clean with necessary amenities and had a full kitchen stocked with utensils. A good choice of stay to see the small, quiet but interesting World Heritage city of Quedlinburg. Can't think of any, but It might be even better for non-German-speaking guests if the staffs speak a little more English.
A superb room with mini kitchenette as a welcome addition.Cosy bed.Family run with friendly staff.Highly recommended.
Location OK. Breakfasts fine, and room cleanliness very good. Age of building and style excellent. Reception a disaster, no one there. German guests had to help us out with trouble to them and us, had to walk 400 meters for a room key and it was the wrong one ! Asked to pay cash to settle the bill (no prior warning). I expect when I ask my bank to send the money it will cost me extra.
Central location (15 minute walk from the train station, 3 minute walk from the unesco World Heritage center/market square, 10 minute walk to the 'schloss'), clean rooms, small but fine breakfast, good service, good quality for not so much money A bit a cold atmosphere (though it claims to be a family run hostel, which should be a plus) in the dinner/breakfast room (the music (radio station) was terrible).
a little horrible but a little good
right in the city centre there were flies flying around during breakfast
Nice, clean room. Helpful staff, Good value for money (and what a nice city)
Good location from visiting the town. Very nice roomy room. Restaurant had good food and good prices. Parking available in behind locked gate. No elevator.
Very close to the martkplatz and walking distance from train station and majors attractions.
The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. Having to walk about 50 metres from the hotel car park (to be fair, it was raining very heavily at the time)
The cheap hotel with good location, The room needs airconditioning and the entire hotel needs an elevator.
Staff very friendly and would vary the menu to your requirements. Accommodation excellent and very comfortable. Good base for steam trips on the Harz Narrow-Gauge Railway from Quedlinburg and Wernigerode.
Location was very near market square, just a two minute walk. Food at restaurant was very good. The towels...I couldn't tell the difference between the hand towel and the floor mat in the bathroom.
The hotel was clean and efficiently run. The location is convenient for trains and getting into the old town and the staff did their best with a poor german speaker.
Good location, next to the railway station. Breakfast was good. To be helped at the reception desk took too long.
A good breakfast selection
Very pleasant hotel, convenient to station Being close to station, a bit of a walk to the town centre
it´s a good location, close to the station and the center It was impossible paying by credit card: after 4 attempts ("The system isn´t good", they sais) I had to pay cash
Our room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and served in an elegant airy dining room. Above all the hotel is dog friendly.
This hotel was stared 3 but it should be at least 4 and even 4plus the only thing that stops it from attaining this mark is the lack of a swimming pool/ Fitness area but if you are looking for a top quality mid range hotel you will not get better, On top of this the food is outstanding and the Chef has to be complemented, as is the receptionist come waiter if you needed info/or help he was the man to see. What bad points
Nice hotel handy for the railway station and short walk from town centre
Clean and comfortable No evening meal offered
