Pros: Very friendly, helpful staff. Location right within Palo Alto.
Cons: Traffic/street noise; could hear my neighbor next door. Older facility. Price for what you get wouldn't make sense anywhere else except in Silicon Valley or Manhattan.

The Palo Alto Inn - Palo Alto - Building
8.2 Excellent (346 reviews)

When you stay at The Palo Alto Inn in Palo Alto, you'll be in the business district, within a 15-minute drive of Stanford University and San Francisco Bay. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and express check-in. Free self parking is available onsite.
4.2 Okay
Cons: You could hear every footstep from person in the room above.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I just liked everything about it nothing really negative.
Cons: If I had to be picky the fact there wasn't many movies on the tv but everything is HD so how can I really complain?
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: It was in a pretty good location since it does have a Palo Alto address and is right on El Camino Real. But, it is not right in the heart of Palo Alto near downtown or Stanford. They do offer a free bag of chips and free water (Kirkland brand) in the room. And, there is a coffee maker if you need it.
Cons: EVERYTHING! This is a total "bait and switch". The website presents a cute, quaint hotel both through the photography/logo and language that is used. It is anything but. I looked in the closet and saw an old, used "Days Inn" paper cup (why has the closet not been cleaned out!!!), and it made sense. This must be a former Days Inn. The rooms are motel-style where they open into a parking lot. They feature a weak chain for the door. I was 1,000% disappointed, especially for the price. The website said, "our continually updated, one of a kind guest rooms feature plush beds, modern bathrooms, and a full array of amenities." This place is nothing like that description. It is not at all updated. It was formerly a Days Inn, and it looks like an old, out-of-date Days Inn that would be better in a low-end neighborhood not Palo Alto. The only good thing about the room is that it had a large flat screen TV with Dish Network. And, there is free wi-fi. The beds have no headboards, the pillows are bad, the bedspreads have stains, the lamp shades were cracked and showing yellow water stains, the furniture is way out of date, the hangers were old, the room is super small (had to put the luggage rack in front of the entry door to have room). The bathroom is bad – the door didn’t even close all of the way. The towels are like loofah sponges - very thin and really rough. I noticed wear spots on the carpets and the walls were dinged and nicked. And, sadly we paid $238/night - $270+ with taxes/fees (based on the language and imagery on their website). It is really bad. I would AVOID this hotel like the plague unless they offer a super, super low rate. The lady at the desk claimed that they were renovating (I saw no evidence). I highly recommend you wait until the renovations are done and then give it a try (but, only once you have photo confirmation of the end result). If their renovations live up to the website imagery and language (and price), then this will eventually be a fine local hotel. But, right now, it is not good at all. The lobby features tired wood paneling and very tacky decorations. And, they offer a "grab and go" breakfast, but it is super basic with plastic packaged muffins and danish. I highly recommend you avoid this hotel!!

4.0 Okay
Pros: The food and bar scene - wonderful!
Cons: Torn weatherstrip on bottom of my room door which opens directly outdoors. HARD bed - platform style, no box spring, only a top mattress. Small room made me go to the fitness center ASAP after waking up, just to decompress from hard bed & small room.

Cons: NONE
6.0 Good
Pros: Nice staff, great location and clean room.
Cons: The downside to this hotel is that almost all the rooms look out into the main parking lot and the walkway to all the rooms runs alongside the window that looks out the room. Meaning, if you want to have fresh air everyone can see into your room.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: location - it is in the heart of Palo Alto & easy access to CalTrains, walking, downtown. Liked the Wine night and breakfast bar and fruit all day long. Coffee is very good and I am picky.
Cons: The room are quite small but quite clean. Would stay there again.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very well located in DT Palo Alto. Like a boutique Euro inn.
Cons: Shower water temp could not be adjusted to a cooler temp - it was a hot day and I wanted a cool shower. No on-site parking. There is a city lot next door but limited to 2 hour stays.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I found the staff to be incredibly kind and helpful. I was also highly impressed by their breakfast offerings - Odwalla juice, lots of pastries, hard boiled eggs, bagels, deli meat and cheese, hot cereal, coffee, and espresso.
Cons: Parking at 5pm on a friday afternoon was beyond frustrating. I circled for 30 min. to get a spot 3 blocks away. I actually moved my car at 11pm to a spot in the public lot next to the hotel. Our TV also did not work in our room.
1.0 Poor
Cons: More a student sleepover than a three Star hotel. The bathroom even has no doors no privacy at all. Ridicoulous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the European ambiance! The room was clean and very delightful. My niece enjoyed writing on the dry erase wall! I will definitely stay there on my next visit to Stanford University.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was perfect and high quality items. Very modern and clean style.
Cons: Size of the room...very tiny! Hardly any room to walk around bed, especially with another person sharing the room. I also prefer more pro in the bathroom; would have rather had a real door and solid, not transparent, wall, and minimal counter space.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The regular rooms are smaller - upgrade to the deluxe! It was a game changer! Complimentary breakfast was great! Lots of options...The location is also PERFECT! Right in the heart of Palo Alto.
Cons: No.
