Pros: The only reason Strawberry Cottage did not exceed my expectations was that I had read so many excellent reviews of it. I was expecting an excellent standard and that is exactly what I found. It was meticulously clean and the gentleman who owns it was very polite and helpful. I would give it a 10 out of 10 for everything.
Cons: A low supply of toilet roll in the bathroom. Enough but there could have been a spare roll just in case it was needed!

Pros: We do liked the room and the furnitures, grounds and especially the staff, they were professional, friendly, kind and helpful. Breakfast and dinner from the restaurant were excellent.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: A really nice place to stay if you want to treat yourself. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff unfailingly attentive and helpful. Definitely recommended.
6.0 Good
Pros: The grounds were fantastic, property is beautiful.
Cons: Movie was playing outside of the dining room and our room on the patio until 11:00 pm and was far to loud. The floors are so creaky if you have a room above you it is unbearably noisy. Although the dinner was excellent we sat for 15 minutes after finishing our meal with no server in sight, finally just got up and went to our room.
6.3 Good
Pros: Actually the whole place is very underwhelming and very over priced
Cons: The room (YEW) was in the gods and had awful wooden window blinds that meant you couldn't keep windows open for air when sleeping as everything continually creaked. When we arrived we were shown our room - long walk from reception, up two steep flights of stairs. No offer at all to help us with our luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast choice was excellent. Salmon/Scrambled eggs lacked imagination in presentataion. Room quality was excellent if slightly small. Staff very helpful.
Cons: Restaurant dinner prices are high
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, very relaxing and peaceful. The service in the restaurant and throughout the hotel was excellent and the food was first class. Our room was spacious and clean. We wished we could have stayed longer - our stay was perfect.
Cons: Not applicable, there wasn't anything we disliked.
7.5 Good
Pros: The setting - very private & calming
Cons: The rooms were boiling hot with no air conditioning. The bedroom was smaller than we would have expected. The rooms would have benefitted from a fridge
8.3 Excellent
Pros: our dinner was outstanding. They are definitely heading for a Michelin star. Next time we stay we would like to experience the chefs table. We found it very relaxing looking out at the beautiful grounds.
Cons: On several occasions when asking for a menu or ordering a drink we had a long wait. We felt we constantly had to remind one of the staff or get up and find someone. We had a lovely suite which unfortunately was towards the top of the hotel on one of the hottest days of the year -it was absolutely baking as they didn't have air conditioning. We had the overhead fan on and a separate fan on us all night, which didn't really help :-(

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice spacious room. It was lovely to have a kitchenette which was very well equipped. Additionally the bar was great in the evening, very relaxing and the staff were super friendly.
Cons: Nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The relaxed vibe and the well-equipped rooms. We took our dog and it is right opposite a park so very convenient! Quite road very close to the town centre.
Cons: They ran out of all hot food and didn't realise so they needed to be asked to replace food as lots of guests still hadn't eaten. So my husband ate 15 mins later than I did. I would suggest getting one of those toasters that is like a conveyor belt. Much better than 1 four slice toaster for all guests. I had to wait for my toast and whilst my food was going cold! Also, the water in our room 102 was only luke warm.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Decor was well thought out and the layout maximised space available, comfortable for all
Cons: Staff could’ve been a bit friendlier
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Parking looked dubious but all was fine :)
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are excellent
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room was spacious and beds were unbelievably comfy
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved the rooms and furnishings, they are bright with lots of space and everything you need. It is well-equipped for a small kitchenette and has some nice personal touches. The bed was exceptionally comfortable which made it very difficult to get up in the mornings considering we were there for work! However the coffee and cocktail bar in the lobby helped with this, especially with the live music in the evenings after work and the staff were always fantastic.
Cons: The sound insulation within the hotel is perfect as we did not hear any other guests during our stay but there was a lot of noise through the large windows in our room, even when closed. This was particularly bad early in the morning with large trucks reversing as I think our room was directly above the service entrance for deliveries and laundry pick up. I think rooms on this side of the building need some extra glazing or sound-proofing as we were woken up every morning.

Cons: Parking was a little tight but keeps you off the main road.
9.0 Excellent
Cons: The rain lol
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness was excellent. The location was a slight walk to the station. The couple that own the place were lovely and approachable. I felt welcome and the atmosphere was friendly.
Cons: The bed was very soft which unfortunately I wasn't used to so was a bit uncomfortable. TV reception was a bit hit n miss on some channels as I believe it was a freeview aerial model. Internet was intermittent in reception also and cut out quite a few times. I'd of liked an option of a larger breakfast too. All of which was manageable for myself and I'm sure easily could be put right.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, free parking, friendly staff, obliging etc all that you could want from a small hotel, with that extra personal touch

Cons: A welcome bottle of beer for me but none (wine) for my partner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic
6.7 Good
Pros: Have stayed here several times and has always been lovely but very disappointed this time.
Cons: Staff incredible miserable, both waitresses at lunch and breakfast were rude and we felt like they just couldn’t be bothered. E.g could we have some vinegar please for our chips (had already asked the first waitress and she had forgotten) then given a response ‘yeah, give me a sec’ in a rude tone. Again breakfast was the same thing, you ask for hollandaise on the side and you get a slight huff as she is writing our order down. Breakfast was mediocre- poached eggs massively overdone! This happened last time so not sure how a professional chef can muck this up?! Also shower spraying everywhere (room 10) not great! Very disappointed with our stay, which is a shame.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent. This was the first time we ever stayed in Southampton in order to get to a cruise ship & the whole process was very straightforward. The staff very kindly booked a taxi for us on the morning of our cruise which was appreciated. The use of the garden was relaxing. Overall we had a great overnight stay and will definitely be with you for our next Southampton cruise & will recommend you to all our friends. Hope to see you soon.
Cons: Nothing!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff lovely breakfast
6.0 Good
Pros: Lovely friendly staff, who were helpful. Rooms were nice at first glance especially if you like IKEA! The location was good, close to local shops and amenities.
Cons: At second glance the rooms could use a little attention to the layout. The ensuite bathroom was cramped the toilet too close to the bath and wall and a very hot heated towel rail! Bed too close to wall of ensuite bathroom and difficult to walk around without banging into, which I found out very painfully, as the bed is wooden framed it caused a very big bruise! The rooms could do with some coat hooks and I would rather have a comfy armchair than the oversized chest of drawers! Also the fitted sheet on the bed kept coming off one corner and it was annoying and hard work having to keep getting up to put it back on and ended up having 2 uncomfortable nights sleep because of this!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was lovely and staff really helpful.
Cons: Pillows were a bit hard.
7.1 Good

Pros: The shower wasn’t great
Cons: The shower
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a suite ,which even though the room was smaller than what we had booked (as booked the studio) but as it was a nice eve and morning we appreciated the lovely long balcony otherwise would have asked to stick with our original booking ,the spa area was lovely and relaxing and the food was a brand new Menu in the jetty which the venison wellington was superb as was the rest .
Cons: I have to say upstairs in the Har bar 6 we was less impressed , as I asked the barman which Gins was on offer and which to recommend to which he put the drinks menu in front of me and carried on with what he was doing ....o shocked to say the least as I’ve stayed in many hotels and never have I had a menu shoved towards me as way of service ,so not impressed at all
7.5 Good
Pros: Great view of the marina from the bedroom. Lovely big comfy bed. Very modern, sleek interiors. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Spa was very relaxing and had a great massage there. Rooftop bar is really good - great sights across the marina and the food was amazing.
Cons: The room wasn’t very sound proof- we could hear lots of slamming of doors in the morning and chattering down the corridor and even next door’s shower! There was no welcome booklet in the room so we found ourselves either guessing, ringing reception or checking online about lots of things e.g. was the water free, what was shown at the cinema, what time the spa opens, the difference between the restaurants, what’s in the spa, is there an iron in the room etc. The spa was lovely but it’s very small so be prepared for that- the swimming pool can’t really fit more than 2 people swimming at once and the pool loungers were constantly full so you had to quickly nab one if you wanted to sit down. The jacuzzi was great on the first day but was cold on the second day, we told a member of staff about it but they kind of shrugged it off and it wasn’t sorted out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Beautiful and very tidy rooms and surroundings. The staffs were great. Min was fantastic. was very helpful during our stay. Eleni also received us well and was always happy to assist. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Pros: Location, next to the Cathedral and Winchester College is ideal. Lovely walk along the river nearby. The story of the pub is old and fascinating.
Cons: Some pillows a bit hard but the overall room comfort quality is excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We have stayed here before and loved it, and again The Wykeham Arms did not disappoint. Excellent location, great facilities, great food and friendly, helpful staff. Would recommend if you're ever in Winchester.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quickly handled at arrival and departure, great pub/restaurant. Recently decorated bedroom is well appointed and comfortable. Great location for a Winchester visit.
Cons: There are car parking spaces, but can be a problem.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I stayed in a single room in the building across the road from the pub. The room was compact to be sure, but thoughtfully laid-out, well-equipped and spotlessly clean. The fruit curd with toasted marshmallow in the pub was delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very clean place to be.
Cons: Loved it all.

Pros: Everyone was very friendly....the interior of the pub was fabulous and we were impressed with the bedrooms. The rooms were well furnished with comfortable beds. Location was perfect for being able to walk into the town....about 10 minutes.
Cons: To have been able to have a cooked breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole ambiance of the building was very good with pictures and furnishings that looked as though thought had gone into providing a home from home experience.
Cons: There was not a hairdryer as stated, in room 5. It was the first time I had not put my hairdryer in my case and low and behold their wasn't one..
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked their creative colour and artistic interior design. The beds were comfy and the bedding luxurious.
Cons: The breakfast was provided in the room. Not enough milk to drink tea and coffee and cereal. Pity that breakfast was not served at a table in the pub, even as self service.

Pros: Really good stay, clean, really good breakfast, very quiet
8.3 Excellent
Pros: High level of service and comforts in a converted house. Good parking outside, very pleasant view from the bedroom window and quiet outside at night.
Cons: Room was rather small due to it being a conversion, and banging doors (all on heavy closers) were a problem at night and early in the morning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The full English breakfast was lovely!
Cons: Shame about the busy road, but if you closed the window it was fine (though would've been hot if in high summer)
9.6 Excellent

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious room and bathroom and loved the quirkiness of the sloping floor! We were made very welcome by all the staff.
Cons: Despite being assured that the bar below is vacated at 11.30pm it was very noisy until after 12.30 which made it difficult to sleep. Bar was a bit pricey for our favourite wine so we only had a glass each!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good clean comfortable room. Good food, good beer
Cons: A little pricey
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything except breakfast
Cons: Very small portion of scrambled eggs on one piece of toast Waitress seemed to be in a rush for us to order as she needed to be quick so she could prepare tables for 80 odd lunches...which we didn’t really want to know that...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really great communication from the team. Felt very welcome, and the room was just lovely. I wish I could have stayed for two nights like I had originally planned. Breakfast very nice. All in all, I would love to come back and stay again.
Cons: A few extra biscuits maybe. There was a bottle of beer but I never found a bottle opener.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Period deco but very modern and comfy
Cons: Needed extra light in bedroom for make up etc
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good . location excellent
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are very cosy and nicely designed
7.0 Good
Pros: We are fairly regular visitors, as love the sense of history & the village/town as a whole. Went into Winchester by bus for lunch for a change. Special mention for Korina, as she is so friendly, helpful and efficient.
Cons: Little things changing e.g. no longer given a thermos of fresh milk for the room, just those horrid longlife catering things. Went elsewhere for the first time for our evening meal as the menu wasn't particularly enticing.
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean tidy comfortable bedding.
Cons: Room was small .a few little snags .toilet flush needs repair.
7.9 Good
Pros: Bedrooms were very nice. Well furnished, clean and due to the warm weather, fans were available.
Cons: When you book for two nights you do not expect to receive a phone call, during the day after the first nights stay, to be informed that you are being moved!!!!! The staff were all polite and apologetic about the situation, pity the Management weren’t. No apology, no small token of compensation. I won’t be back

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed and quiet location - ideal for a good night’s sleep.
Cons: I didn’t spend long enough to try the restaurant food!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The restaurant was far too hot and I felt quite sick throughout our meal, had to keep going outside for air. My sister in law was in room 1 right next to the kitchen, was woken at 6.45 on sunday morning from the noise of the staff starting work, on reflection this room should be at a cheaper rate due to its location. I have asked the staff to escalate this to head office.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was fantastic very clean and the staff was warm and welcoming. I only stayed one night but it was lovely and the beds were very comfortable.
Cons: The one thing I would say it that the shower head was broken and was held together with shoe laces so that was the only thing minus but it’s a small thing.
