The Marmara hotel offers good facilities for a price that is lower than most other hotels in St. Petersburg. The hotel has a swimming pool, sauna and a fitness room that is free between 7 and 10 in the morning. At other times, you can use these facilities for 300 rub (about 8 Euro) per hour. Although, the hotel is situated outside the center of St. Petersburg, the center can be easily reached by trolley bus and Metro. Trolley Bus Line 6 brings you to the nearest Metro station in about 5 mins. and stops almost in front of the hotel. The time between the buses is between 10 and 15 mins. The Metro takes you in about 5 stops (20 mins) to the center of the city.
I visited the hotel in a period that it was extremely warm in St. Petersburg (> 30 c). Normally temperatures are much lower. At warm days it is advisable to ask for a room that is not on the sunny side of the hotel. Because of the glass construction that extends out of the hotel, the rooms get very warm after some time.
Internet connection was very very poor... too many breaks....
