It was a great location. Easy walk in to Gardone for lovely water front, good restaurants (especially set back from lakeside) and ferry service. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast right next to the lake was a great start to the day. Surprising to have no tea / coffee in room but room service was very quick
Location Recommended a ferry that wasn't running and a restaurant that was closed for the winter, they should have known better
The views from the lobby area out to Lake Garda; the garden setting that opened from the lobby; the excellent breakfast; the attentive staff. My massage was disappointing. Cold room, no candles or heated massage table, too much bright light; no soothing music. Massage itself was too light. We must do it differently in the US.
The location, the restaurant, the pool. The barmann was very arrogant and rude with the clients. Bevause fo thaht I would not recommend that place. It is a shame because everybody else were very nice and pleasant.
hotel beautiful and staff created lovely athmosphere..food excellent and lovely setting thought the evening menu could benefit from a little more variety but quality and service excellent
I liked the staff atention and the excelent food. No.
The location was great, pool was nice and room had a great view
The location is excellent and the hotel staff were very helpful and attentive. The pool was lovely and to be able to swim in lake garda from the hotel was also great. Our room was nice with a good view of the Lake from the balcony. It was just a short walk to the nearest town which was nice in the evening.
Proximity and access to Lake Garda
Wonderful staff, great views of the lake. Easy access to boats to go up and down lake.
The hotel is situated in a beautiful art nouveau building just outside the old town of Saló. The view over lake Garda is great, so are the deck chairs and the pool. The staff is fantastic - they'll bend backwards to help you with anything! This seems to be a family run hotel, where the family are perfectionists. A not too expensive luxury if you're stayin in the smaller, more modern rooms. I love it!
This is the most wonderful hotel. The staff was amazing, the property amazing, the restaurant superb. Fabulous breakfast. I can't say enough positive things about it lest I fear there will never be room available again.
Hotel is very comfortable in a nice oldfashioned way with excellent service from the staff. An excellent hotel to relax in.
service and the stuff gentle too small room
The hotel is well placed on the edge of old Salo town and is an easy stroll to the nearby restaurants and shops.
really nice staff, beautiful architecture main road too close, no balconies, interiors bit old
Lake views, good staff to residents ratio, setting, swimming pool and breakfast terrace. No nothing
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, building beautiful, service excellent. Ideal for a relaxing romantic break No
The beautiful hotel building. On site car park. The friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful staff they could not have been better. Excellent quality of the food. The well maintained garden. The close proximety (5 mins walk) of restaurants and shops. Ten minutes walk to the ferry linking Salo to all the other towns on the lake. The noise from the road whilst relaxing/sunbathing in the garden. There is only a hedge and pavement between the road and lawn with sun beds. Evening meals are a bit pricey.
The hotel staff was exemplary. The terrace was very romantic both breakfast and dinner. Taking a drink by the pool was delightful. The room was a little outdated. It seemed everything had not been revisited since the 70's.
The location of the hotel is superb. Our spacious room had a splendid view over the lake. The staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant maintained a high standard. On the minus side: the air-conditioning in our room was barely adequate, the breakfast buffet could be more ambitious, and too many guests ignored the pool rules posted for the benefit of all in five languages. Value for money? Not really.
Rooms were big with beautiful view and were cleaned professionally on a daily basis. The general hotel staff are very warm and helpful. It is a non smoking environment which was fantastic. The breakfasts are poor, but mostly the breakfast waiters are rude and unprofessional. It may sound petty, but does have an affect on your stay!
super views over the lake. Friendly staff. The best palma ham in the world. It was draped like a cloud of thin sheets succulent flavoursome over fresh chilled melon. Exquisite balance. No
The position of the hotel and the view from our room balcony Hotel food was poor
Location of the hotel, size of the room and terasse and view. Friendly staff especially in reception. Since we have travelled with baby and stroller we were expecting to takea stroller to our room. It did not fit to elevator since they are too small. Some other families had same problem. Breakfast is really basic for 4* hotel, no hot food and variety is very small - cheese, hamd, bread, fruits, jogurt and corNflakes. Parking is also unsuficient only 11 spaces for large hotel and website advertize free parking in front of the hotel. If you came late to the hotel you had to look for parkings faraway or pay 10 euro a day in paid parking near by.
large simply furnished room with sliding doors onto spacious balcony with beautiful view good location inability to use the pool before breakfast
The swimming pool and sunbathing area is great. The location fantastic - right on the lake. Everything was very clean. Buffet breakfast was gorgeous food. Bathrooms were excellent, baths and showers. Some of the staff were surly and unhelpful, especially serving/clearing breakfast. The minute 10am arrived they were clattering around you whilst you were finishing your breakfast. It is a little old fashioned, the decor from the 70s/80s. No spa facilities are included in the price of the room. The breakfast is not a hot buffet. The in room bar only had two beers in it.
We had a wonderful time at this hotel and would definately recommend staying there. The location was wonderful beautiful views and close to the town which provided an abundance of bars and restaurants as well as a ferry service to other locations. The hotel room was spacious and staff very friendly and helpful, particularly Daniel who arranged taxi's for us and gave valuable local information. The breakfast was very nice, lovely cornettos! The swimming pool was large and clean and not over chlorinated. It was also very quiet and most times we had the whole pool to ourselves! I would also recommend hiring a speed boat from salo to tour the lake, hotel staff also helped with this making the call and translating the necessary info! I wish I was back there right now!!!
Magnificent View over lake from balcony Altho' the hotel was nowhere near full, bookings were still required for dinner. Bar closed early (if it was ever open).
Excellent position on Lake Garda gives spectacular views in restful atmosphere. Easy access to town and ferries. Friendly attentive staff. No
Nice friedly staff , good location very clean room
location of the hotel and the beautiful bedroom, staff were very friendly too the breakfast was poor and they ran out of some of the items also the service was slow
The room was bording - there was'nt any dekoration.
Nice location and friendly staff
The location of the hotel is perfect - having breakfast on the terrace with the water lapping the boardwalk a few feet away was idyllic. Being able to meander along the lake shore walk at any time of the day or night without having to worry about driving or parking was a treat in itself. The are many restaurants to choose from within 5 minutes stroll & the town of Salo itself is beautiful. Loved the room!!!
high service level, nice atmosphere,
Firstly, the staff, who were helpful, polite, informative, and responsive.Secondly, the thoughtful little touches, like scented candles, sweets, and a teddy-bear at turn-down time in the evening.Thirdly, the immaculate cleanliness of the whole place.Fourthly, free and secure parking. Finally, the superb position right on the lakeside and promenade. We would have liked a wider choice at breakfast - toast, eggs, crispy bacon, for example.
Friendly staff, cleanliness, value for money. I was on my own taking time out to write so the quietness was good and I felt safe. All my requirements were met
The location of the hotel was great. The 100km restaurant menu was great & the staff were very helpful. 24hour free internet access in the lobby was a great help.
I had a perfect stay in the hotel. Food was exquisite. Location directly at Lake Garda also with a perfect view from the balcony of my upgraded room.
The hotel was in the most beautiful setting - because there were only 18 rooms the number of guests was low. The staff were very pleasant and efficient Rather limited lunch menu
The restaurant is great, very nice food, the service of everyone in the Hotel was very good. nice view and nice decoration also. I will prefer a softer bed.
Wow Prices reasonable for food & wine apart from 2 Gin & Tonics costing 24€ admitedly they were large which we did not ask for, but felt that was still too expensive when you could get a bottle of wine for 14€
Very relaxing surroundings and made feel welcome by staff... I felt the lunch and dinner menus could have been changed, after 4 days it is quite repetative
Everything! Very clean, lovely luxurious touches...very comfortable beds, excellent food and presentation...Just lovely and romantic! I am amazed we found this little gem and we will be back!
Very friendly staff, lovely small hotel. Excellent restaurant. Will come again.
Total relaxation in a beautiful setting. Excellent menu and very friendly and professional staff. I must return!
Excellent service, great food, brilliant view, superb room None
Peaceful surroundings and very relaxing
The staff were unfailing in their attention and in particular we liked the sauna facility which was first rate. In their effort to present their food as haute cuisine the portions were often too small for the average appetite.
Fabulous location with only minutes to walk to the shops, restaurants and water. . Parking was a bit difficult. It was case of parking down the street and waking back, then going and moving the car again to the car park which was not very close by. A bit of a task when there were 6 of us!
Central location and parking facilities for motorcycles air conditioning would have been an added bonus in the heat of 40 degrees
The hotel owner (Maoro) was very helpful, location of the hotel was excellent, room were cleaned on daily basis and the breakfast was also very nice. Overall, we were very surprised by the high standard of the hotel- definitely worth every penny! Would stay again. no
Old, but nice hotel with helpful staff in the middle of town. We enjoyed our stay.
Situation, good breakfast. Old premises.
The manager was very helpful, the location was excellent, breakfast was generous, it felt very secure, clean and modern. It was expensive and lacking in character. Our room suffered from traffic noise in the morning.
Good location. It has a very good breakfast service and very friendly and helpful staff.
Position in the town; kind staff; very acceptable price; peace at night
The hotel was right in the town of Salo which was great. The room was small but clean. The breakfast was fantastic and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good. Location - in the center of Salo In our room there was no Aircondition - but at the days we stayed there was no need for Aircondition. A fan was a the room but was not used
The attitude of the staff was very good indeed and the food was excellent A pity that there was not a lounge to relax in during any bad weather or to enjoy the views
location, helpfulness in offering free parking during our stay, selection of choice for breakfast. none.
a very nice friendly hotel in a lovely location where we had a very good dinner with good service
Room interior decoration particularly soul destroying. Although it is situated in a superb position, this family business ran by very nice members of the family have not taken the initiative to bring their business up to the 21st century. Ripe for a takeover/
funky decor, very cool. friendly staff and superb location. romantic spot
Beautiful location right beside the lake. Pretty building and nicely decorated. Access for vehicles in a no car area worked well for unloading and a good car park is quite near. Staff very pleasant. No air con.
Lovely setting on Lake Garda, rooms comfortable, helpful staff, breakfast ok. Needs a note putting on website regarding access by car to hotel - it is pedestrianised outside the hotel and only a tiny sign and intercom on a post to gain access - had to be shown by a policemanafter going round narrow streets several times. !Car parking not near the hotel.
Nice, cleen and well equiped family run hotel few hundred meters above Lago di Garda with charming view of the lake. Hotel is very near town of Salo and half hour drive from venezia-milano A4 motorway. Some rooms could be noisy because of nearby roads.
Friendly staff and good restaurant
Staff were friendly and helpful.
staff was friendly, food was excellent
The cosyness of the hotel and the friendly personnel. Perhaps some people do not like the situation outside the town. It should be clearly indicated.
Relaxed surroundings Location hard to find,a little too far from the center.
We enjoyed our room and the facilities. Our daughter liked the swings and small slide as well as the pool. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. We really could not see Lago Garda. Perhaps the top floors could but not from the ground.
The view, easy to find, not in the centre of town but two minutes fron town, parking food was good but basic. Breakfast "buffet" poor. Coffee from a machine except for one morning
Location in beautiful surrondings at Lago Di Garda
Nice views of the lakeside, very friendly staff, food ok. Perfect location as a base for touring Lake Guarda
Ideal location for enjoying the town of Salo and for exploring Lake Garda. The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel food is good but I would not recommend a package including dinner because there are so many excellent and characterful restaurants close by that shoulld not be missed.
Nice location, friendly staff
Hotel of good standard in fantastic location and very close to ferry port. Staff all genuinely friendly and helpful, Loved having breakfast in open terrace restaurant overlooking the lake to start each day. Was pleasantly surprised that sunloungers always available in small upper terrace over peak summer dates. Free use of quality city bikes a bonus we enjoyed but need to be fit for exploration out of town!
The position of the Hotel - It's cleanliness particularly it's bathrooms and the charming village of Salo Unfortunately our visits were during the low season and so most service facilities were unavailable.
The situation of the hotel at the lakeside and close to the boat departures was good also the southerly facing aspect of the hotel which was clean and with good service. No I can't think of any problems, although the parking is not very close..
location and peaceful atmosphere and friendliness of the staff trying to find it by car on arrival, the secure parking being a good 5-10 minute walk from hotel, the rooms on the first floor opened on to a terrace used by other residents
Nice quad room on the water with view, excellent staff and very clean room. Very good breakfast provided. Many smaller rooms with balcony facing the water. Small wndow limited view of water (our reason for staying here); difficult to find the hotel (despite maps and MapQuest directions);
very good location, room with a great view!
The staff were very welcoming and helpful, speaking many languages according to their guests. Great location and the added bonus of covered secure parking - which is very rare on the italian lakes
2 Comments. Owner, Filippo Bassetti & wife, Roberta, couldn't have been nicer, or more accomodating in every way. This being late October, & learning we would drive the next morning to Munich,...Filippo immediately and totally voluntarily got online to check the weather forecast for The Brenner Pass. Snow forecasted. Again several times the next morning, they both voluntarily checked forecasts. When information didn't seem to be updated as often as they liked, Filippo called regional police to verify Pass was open/being plowed. Hotel's Location, truly lakeside, with pedestrian strolling lane between hotel front and lake, situated on a bay of sorts on lake's west side. Can park in front to unload/load luggage. Can't think of anything... View is well worth the stay, as is the staff.
Fantastic staff!! Beautiful view. The room was very clean but a little bit old fashioned. But the view was so amazing who really wants to look at the room.
Roberto and his wife were truly outstanding hosts and we really felt "at home", so to speak. After a few days, the walk to the hotel parking lot for our car felt quite long
A family business which provides excellent service. No need to mention your room number when requesting the key, they had it in their hand ready. They could not do enough to help.
Fantastic views, very relaxing Could supply tea/coffee making facilities in the room
Great position None
We went for our honeymoon so it felt like we were spoiling ourselves - luxurious, awesome views, wonderful food and drinks. Most of the staff were fantastic. We felt one or two of the restaurant staff were not as attentive as they should be.
great swimming-pool and scenery.
Very nice terrace overlooking the lake, excellent meals at the restaurant, very friendly and helpfull staff poor Internet connection with charges
The setting and gardens. The service and very helpful, friendly staff. The restaurant. We had a wonderful stay. We thought our room was a little small for the price and it was crowded with 2 large suitcases. There was no lift to our floor. Is this consistent with a 5-star hotel?
The hotel was a perfect place to stay on a honeymoon with attentive staff, beautiful interiors and an incredible terrace with views over the Lake. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Its a 20 minute walk to the Lake garda boats but the extra seclusion does provide a far more personal experience.
The location and view The size of the room and the bathroom
Nice hotel with polite and educated staff. Quiet place for relaxing with beautiful view. Romantic atmosphere. Beautiful operetta night and nice restaurant. Price. More comforts were needed (SPA etc). The photo was not corresponding to the room that was given to us. Every morning outside of our suite was an annoying noise from the cuisine of the restaurant.
The interior style, the staff and the location were all excellent, but without hesitation the restaurant food and service, were exemplary. Send the rest of the world's service industry's staff there for training! Perhaps a double bedroom should have a double bed and not just two singles pushed together [and inefficiently held there] - but then as I was on honeymoonmaybe I am being a little picky. Oh....
attention to detail and beauty of the biulding and surroundings gardens
Happy hour in der Hotelbar, dort auch sonst faire Preise mit Blick auf den Gardasee.
Stayed in a family room for 3 nights. Good location just outside Salò, on the lakeshore with a small but nice beach. Beautiful view of the Garda lake and Salò from the terrasse bar. Shuttlebus to the town a few times during the day. All meals incl. Very old hotel, long time since it was a 4 stars hotel! The furniture in our room was worn & damaged, the room so small (bathroom tiny!) that with the ugly bunkbeds for the children we were unable to move around. The air/con was not working properly in our room, and the food they served was barely eatable and mostly junk food. The hotel in general is in a desparate need of a total redecoration.
Lake Garda is a beautiful place. Lake itself, mountains, clean waters all was excellent. This is just a wrong hotel in a splendid place, just like many other things in Italy :) Hotel is a fleabag, rooms are so old you cant imagine it. Dont believe what the site is saying about triple room, its just pretty small doubleroom with extra bed that makes it impossible to move in the room and forget to get to balcony. It was really crap. If you decide to go dont hesitate to ask for a better room, the staff understands what kind of rooms they have and most likely will try to help you a little, but they dont have much to upgrade it to anyway.
Very relaxed hotel, good choice of food, idea for families, wonderful location, picturesque and quiet.
The views from hotel were fantastic and hotel staff were very helpful The hotel was a little remote for ourselves would have liked a bit more night life
Location to the Lake N/A
Clean and bright bedrooms and common areas. Friendly staff. Good food. Helpful staff. Location good as base for visiting other areas of Lake Garda.
Everything was first class
Fantastic position right on lake Prices of tea/coffee and drinks generally
The hotel gave us an ideal location to celebrate our wedding anniversary; centrally placed and offering good quality services.
i liked everything , especially the location directly at the lake , it gives a wonderful feeling the only negative thing is the heavy traffic on the road alongside of the hotel , although you can not hear it in the hotel
A large hotel, ideal for older guests. Excellent staff, service, location.
The "Al la Carte" resteurant is a must, superb food the staff are fantastic and the location is hard to beat. The hotel is "old world charm" rather than a modern. Would recomend the Lake Veiw rooms for the additional cost. Travel around the lake very easy with the ferry just outside.
Friendly Service Long distances to walk from room to reception
The position is superb and the staff are charming and helpful. The rooms are very high-tec and being open for only a few months have minor problems which are being dealt with. There are differences in room sizes which were not apparent when booking and we upgraded, paying extra.
Very modern and clean... good option if you don't like the typical European style hotels. Loved the location, our favourite in Lake Garda. It's a new hotel and they haven't thought of minor things such as a place to put the soap, shampoo etc in the shower....
The friendliness of the staff and the location of the property. Insufficient air conditioning and some problems parking.
I cannot fault this hotel in any way. The night we stayed here was part of a surprise trip for my husband's birthday. I only wished we had stayed longer! The location was out of this world, the accommodation second to none, the food sublime, the staff attentive and helpful. What more can I say. Oh yes, I look forward to going back again.
It was pure pleasure, the location, the hotel, but certainly the interior design (room and facilities) makes you feel relaxed at all times, sorrounded by beauty and like you don't want to leave. I can't tell his name because I don't know but one of the managers who " helped" us when we did the check in, cted somehow un-friendly and a little arrogant in my view, though this fact doesn't change my opinion at all of such a wonderful experience with Bella Riva. The rest of the staff was fantastic. I mention this because it was the only negative highlight, not intending to change people's styles
