Istmo Beach and Jungle Bungalows

Great service and beautiful, relaxing spaces. Great staff, great location. Yoga classes and massage were great. The bungalows itself were clean with comfortable beds and air conditioned, so we had relaxed sleep. Private bungalows with everything you need. Super clean and a quiet location. Well maintained. Amazing setting in a jungle and very close to the gorgeous beach. Cabins are very spacious and clean. Kitchen supplied with necessary items including spices and cooking oil. Very friendly host. Fresh water in the fridge and coffee powder at arrival, nice property with enough privacy, short walk to a nice beach. Good beds. Istmo is in perfect peaceful place, the Playa Grande beach is stunning, nicer than San Carlos beach or El Palmar. The owners were super friendly and helpful regarding transport options for my further travels. They have three super nice dogs onsite. I really enjoyed their company on the Jungle trail which is beautiful. Loved how peaceful it was on this resort. I also loved the dogs that greeted us. The jungle walk was awesome as well. We rented the separate kitchen and it was amazing, especially because the restaurants in town were pricey. Coffee maker, fridge, private porch with hammock and chairs. Nice bed and air-conditioning. 5 minute walk to quiet beach. Beach towels provided. What else could a person want? Super neat place. Nice and clean. You can tell the owner’s care about the property. Great vibe. Would recommend others to stay. The cabins are really cozy and pretty with a lot of vegetation around. They were clean and beds super comfortable. Beach is really close walking. The accomodation was close to the beach where we have been almost alone :-). The Owners were very friendly and helpfull and answered all our questions. Also they recommended places to visit and to buy or order the food. The place was very calm in the middle of the nature, we definitelly relaxed there and enjoyed our stay. We loved the place! Great staff, great location. If you want to have a nice and quiet weekend, this is the place. The owners were very welcome. Great location and setup ! Loved it ! The bed! we had very good sleep! The mattress and pillow and the bed linen have very top value. Very low key luxury! Comfortable beds and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beach nearby is beautiful. We surely will stay again in the future. The location it's great, the beach it's near and have good spots.

The photos i upload are from the spot on the beach. Probably due to the season but a lot of mosquitoes in the area. The location is in the middle of nowhere, so it is better to bring your own car. The beach is nice but there is a lot of garbage around. Price too high for what you get. Location was great, though I admit that from the photos I thought it would be closer to the water. I didn't realize we would have to hike 10 minutes down the road to get there! The smell (fungus), the lack of microwave/restaurant/food stalls or supermarkets nearby. The "jungle walk" was very short. It has a lot of stairs if you bring a lot of stuff have to go up and down several times. Difficulty getting food outside specific hours. Stairs from parking to room, no pool, no TV in room. At night you hear a little bit of noise from the Panamericana. There is no possibility to prepare a small meal and wash dishes. They do not offer breakfast and restaurants or shops are not around, so it was quite uncomfortable to manage food for our younger children. A car is useful but not essential 25 minute walk to services but a pleasant one. The fact that there was no AC in our rented kitchen building making it very warm, the fact that the beach is quite a walk and not very nice and lacks shady spot. There is also zero infrastructure available, meaning no chairs, cafe etc. For that you need to walk a whole lot further and even there there is hardly any shade for kids especially. Lastly the jungle walk they have is very short and not special. If the cabin is booked by 3 persons, it would be nice to also have 3 cups for the morning coffee (had only two) and to have maybe more than one spoon. way passed my expectations. The hot water wasn't really hot.
