Pros: This was my second stay at Alvear Art. I returned because I enjoyed my first time. I like the location: the area ranging from the Plaza de Mayo all the way up to Recoleta contains a lot that interests me. I enjoy sitting on a bench in Plaza San Martin and listening to the birds and the city while reading something thoughtful and contemplating life. It's nice too to have within walking range a number of nice restaurants. The hotel staff was glad to advise me and make suggestions. The servers in the hotel restaurant treated me like a friend. I believe I have found my place to stay in Buenos Aires.
Pros: It's well located to my local office and a quaintly unique boutique setting. It's small enough that the staff remembers you when you come and go and you are not lost in the crowd, which can tend to be the case at larger hotels.
Cons: There wasn't anything I didn't like. I would have liked to swim with the roof open since it was warm out and the roof was not retracted. It was summer time so I figured they would have opened it up. Not a big issue and it more than made up for it in every other way.
Also, this hotel offers express check-in and check-out,as well as babysitting/childcare services.
Very small hotel with nice touches. Very helpful staff.
Pros: Enjoyed the roof top terrace--nice quiet space.
Cons: No fitness center.

Cons: This applies only to 'standard rooms', but still strange for a 4 star hotel
Pros: Stunningly beautiful hotel, a piece of history. Both Evita Peron and Albert Einstein stayed here. Our room was great. It had very high ceilings and modern furnishings and a little balcony. The bathroom tiles were marble and the countertops were granite. It was very upscale.
I was a little hesitant to book because I had read reviews about the lack of Internet in the room, but that proved to be wrong. For 60 pesos (about 5-6 dollars), we had great Internet service in the room.
We didn't have a transformer, and they provided one for us. When we checked out, the bellboy negotiated a great fare for our taxi ride back to the airport.
A very upscale hotel, truly beautiful, a great buy for the money. The staff was wonderful and very courteous and helpful.
I was very pleased with my stay here and will stay here again when I visit Buenos Aires in the future. The location was great: very central with easy access to the subways, many bus lines and steps to the Parliament Building.

Pros: Short distance to airport with free shuttle to EZE.
Cons: Not many amenities
Pros: Large suite. Water pressure great.
Cons: Mediocre bed. No international adapters available just an inconvenient outlet. Used soap in shower. Toilet was filled with toilet paper. I choose this hotel because of the standard Holiday Inn gives, expecially when it is way higher priced than its competition.

Pros: The location was great, walking distance to the pedestrian walking street Calle Florida. Service was also excellent.

Pros: The rate was very good. The location is iconic and easy to find. Taxis easily available and cheap. You'll find restaurants and markets in close proximity. It is on a major avenue, and next to many subway and bus connection lines, so expect a big flow of people most of the day, but if you like walking or using public transport, it's easy to do. Rooms were clean, continental breakfast good. The hotel is old and spaces tighter than in newer ones, but it's updated. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
