Albergue Casa Salinas

It is a very very chill place for writing my PhD thesis. I found no difficulty in concentrating on the writing part. I met really nice people working around and I would really recommend you this place for a short cut-off from your busy life maybe. haha. The boss showed me the lead-acid battery pack and solar panel. It is a place supported by pure SUN. It is a nice chance to see people how to engage themselves in nature. Besides, I saw two wild pigs on the way driving there at night. It is really cool!

Absolute astonishing place next to the lake, the hostel is just fantastic if you are into nature and you want some relaxation. We arrived late at night and we could see the milky way and stars, hear the birds, smell the trees. Absolute magic! Plus the lake is great for swimming and you can borrow a canoe for free from the reception. Breakfast was nice, I would prefer some more fruits or eggs, since there were chickens on the hostel and you are next to nature. I small touch can do miracles! Still nice chorizo and jamon, can do a little better, since you pay for the breakfast. Least, but not last,very kind hostel manager.

We asked 3 times for some more bread on the breakfast which we paid for 6euros per person (total 24 euros) and no one gave us, so..hmm... Also, no one told us to bring sheets or sleeping bags and we got charged for it, just 3 euros/per, though. Small things, but details do leave the final impression.

Beautiful setting. Very helpful friendly staff. Very relaxing. Fantastic lake. Made to feel very welcome. Comfortable accommodation.

The breakfast was lovely and fresh, location amazing with an azure blue lake to swim in all on your own mostly, something millionaires dream of! Super friendly staff who went out of their way to help. Great walking nearby. We were evening invited to eat a most delicious meal with the staff and family members - very welcoming and generous.

It's a shame the hotel is off grid and runs from the solar panels they have, therefore when it was 40+ degrees, it was very hot without any form of aircon. I would also encourage keeping the dogs quiet at night so that residents can sleep. Perhaps manage the wild baor another way because I don't think that the dogs deterred them much - fencing off the garden and hotel rooms for example?
