When you stay at Xanadu yurts in Xilin Gol (Zhenglan Qi), you'll be 30.8 mi (49.5 km) from Xanadu. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The place is amazing if you are looking for nature. The Yurts are simple but everything what we need for the short stay was in. The restroom and shower are simple - if you are used for luxury you will be not happy. Everything was clean and according to our expectations. The last 30 min the road is unpaved. Xanadu Yurts provide a simple breakfast - if you have special wishes they try to make it happend. As well for dinner we got fresh dishes. Clara from the team speaks excellent English and she took care on us perfectly. We recommend the location for nature experience in a camp. The internet is not always stable - but you should not forget - you are in the middle of Grassland. Be prepared for lower temperatures - as well in summer. We enjoyed so much and for any recreation we would come back again. We felt safe and well supported. By the way - the bed in the Yurt was huge - but hard. For us it was ok. Dont expect 5star bedding - this is not the target of the camp. We found everything like expected. Now - from June onwards you will have all the animals arround you as well (cows, sheeps, horses,......).
Cons: There was nothing need to be mentioned - don't forget --> it's not 5 star :-).
Pros: Friendly people, fantastic location far from everything
Pros: Guys here are very friendly and helpful. Carla, Tenga and his mother are very lovely people. The way to leave is still mostly in authentic Mongol style, that is the reason why I choosed this place instead of the fake fancy yurt. Very natural place, beautiful sunset and stars at night, great food and very natural ingredients to make it. Cows, sheeps, camels and horses going around. Possibility to take the milk from the cow and to see how to make the cheese. Just everything so authentic! Loved this place!
Cons: This place is not for closed mind people or too picky, or for people unable to accept one of the few traditional mongol places left in this world. For me is just perfect!
Pros: Friendliness of staff, location and good are great!
Cons: Toilets and bath facilities could be improved
Pros: The place was exactly what we expected, but the landscape was even more beautiful and the stuff was amazing. Simple, but great natural experience! A peaceful, quiet place with cosy yurts.
Pros: Staff are very friendly and helpful. Carla and family are the best hosts ever! Food is delicious and very affordable. The surroundings are amazing!!! Yurts are simple, very clean and the bed is very big. Even though there were not many animals around (we stayed there in the end of April/beginning of May), my friend and I had a lot of fun walking around, taking pictures and enjoying the sunsets. I believe staying in these yurts is a very good way of immersing in Inner Mongolian life.
Cons: Toilet and shower facilities are very simple, but it is part of the package (toilets are public). This place is definitely not suitable for fussy people.
Pros: It's a small family run yurt camp in the grasslands which gives you a real feeling of Inner Mongolia (unlike all those big camps intended for the tour groups). Quite remote, and very authentic! They provide pick up service from Shangdu; it is 70 km from Shangdu on a bumpy road. Yurts are simple but clean. Food authentic and down to the earth. Couldn't be better!
Pros: The location, in an amazing landscape The kindness of the family that live there The food, very good The activities we did The price The general experience you live
Cons: The general confort, very different of our European standards (You sleep on a wood bed, the bathroom)
Pros: Super friendly English speaking host. Beautiful yurts at the camp and and amazing landscape around. Really nice place if you would like to have a remote trip to Inner Mongolia!
Pros: Perfect location - undisturbed nature. Very nice hosts - very service minded. Great yurts and good food.
Cons: Not much. Washing and toilet facilities are primitive- but that’s part of the package and is ok. Beds are to the hard side - traditional Chinese comfort.
