Pros: It was just a year old...so things felt new and clean!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was nicely furnished, quiet, and had very effective darkening curtains.
Cons: Not a good location if you want to be able to walk to restaurants, bars, shopping etc. The hotel is on the far east edge of town -- not a good retail/pedestrian area. But, campus, downtown, and shopping districts are just a short drive away.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Mostly quiet.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent - nearly all of our weekend activities were walkable. Rooms have small kitchenettes which are very nice when traveling with children. They are clean and roomy and have a large work area for laptops, etc. Parking garage was easy to operate and meant we were not searching for parking in downtown Lawrence.
Cons: There are nice TV's in the room, but only a small sofa where two people can sit. For a family of four staying in the room, it would be nice to have an armchair of some sort?? WiFi worked fine, but not with the AppleTV because of hotel sign in process. Cleaning staff made the bed, restocked towels, etc. while we were out, but did not run the dishwasher or restock coffee.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: I liked the 3 hours sleep I got after finally getting the room I didn't want.
Cons: Everything else.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: hotel called in early evening to tell me my pre-paid room was cancelled. They told me there might be rooms at a place down the road. Not helpful in the least and extremely poor customer service. Will rely on the Oread in the future.

6.2 Good
Pros: The beds were soft and the rooms were spotless.
Cons: The staff was rude, hard to track down, and not incredibly helpful. The room was incredibly expensive and honestly I've slept in softer beds for much less. In the morning around 930 the cleaning crew was INCREDIBLY loud, I mean practically screaming as they were tossing rooms over, not something you want to hear on a day you plan to sleep in. I don't understand why the hotel cost so much for such a simple room but I won't stay again. All these reviews talk about luxury and how nice the other parts of the hotel are but the rooms, in my opinion the most important part were less than impressive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people were my favorite!! Everyone was more than accommodating; there was a charm & overall kindness. We were visiting to get our impression of the University of Kansas & the OREAD was a beautiful first impression of the architecture, atmosphere & people!
Cons: We didn't get to stay long enough :)
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel for parents when visiting campus. Nice bars and restaurants. Easy access KU gift shop and accommodating staff. Don’t worry about parking, just use the valet service.
Cons: Could use some pictures in the floor lobby’s. Maybe oversized black and white photos of KU through the years? Can’t decide if I like the bare floors in the rooms or want a little carpet.

Pros: This hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly! Phyllis, in the breakfast room, was so kind and helpful! Loved that lady! The fitness room was well furnished.
Cons: The indoor pool is extremely small and not very deep. My 10 year old was bored rather quickly in there.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a nice, modern hotel with good amenities - great breakfast and liked having the daily paper available.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, staff was friendly and good breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly and prompt. Breakfast service was nice than I had expected and the staff working in the breakfast room were so pleasant and attentive!
Cons: The door didn't close / latch properly unless it was really PULLED shut. The elevator is slow and seems inadequate for the needed use. Had a couple longish waits at the elevator.
7.0 Good
Pros: The size of the room and comfort of the bed. The employee on Friday evening was very nice but when the fire alarm went off (I think a child opened the exit to the pool), it took a long time to turn off the alarm. It then again went off a 2nd time.
Cons: Saturday front desk associate was rude. I requested late checkout due to interrupted sleep from alarms (my daughter & I were sick with flu so lack of sleep did matter). She snapped at me that she just couldn't do that for us. No explanation or I'm sorry.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was EXCELLENT. Immaculate, stylish, comfortable. The design of the room (recently renovated) was sleek and futuristic; we felt like we were in a much more expensive hotel. Holiday Inn has a GREAT concept with this line of hotels.
Cons: No, everything was superb. We will seek out this hotel and others in the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites line again.

Pros: everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Eldridge Hotel was beautiful! The hotel maintained it's old charm while also being modern and beautiul. The room was pleasant and quiet. The bed was absolutely wonderful! Valet service was inexpensive ($10 a day) and very efficient. I enjoyed being so close to everything downtown, and the service all over the hotl was impeccable.
Cons: I enjoyed my whole experience there. I have no complaints.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast room service ordering was awesome (ordered night before with a flyer on the door) Old hotel...but was great. Lobby was awesome. Staff was very helpful with valet service and holding luggage. Very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great historic hotel
Cons: This is a great historic hotel and is the perfect location for walking to shops and restaurants in Lawrence. I have stayed in this hotel twice now and have been impressed with the cleanliness, comfortable bed and great staff. The restaurant downstairs is excellent as well. The only negative is that the air conditioner is extremely noisy. The ones with wall units (in the back rooms) never seem to be quite comfortable and have noisier AC systems than the rooms facing the street. This hotel is apparently also famous for its ghosts, so it's possible that your air conditioner will not be the only thing that goes bump in the night. Certain parts of the hotel do feel a bit creepy, especially the elevator. I would definitely stay there again, but I would probably not do so alone.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, clean
7.0 Good
Pros: Front desk was extremely helpful. Great indoor heated pool and hot tub.
Cons: Wifi was not accessible past a certain point in the hotel, the front desk did move us to a closer room where we had no issues from there on out. Air conditioning leaves something to be desired and it was uncomfortably warm the whole stay. Still recommend.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was very good. Close to shopping and restaurants.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: The first room in the outbuilding had someone inside it. Never had that happen before. They said no one was supposed to be inside.
1.0 Poor
Pros: The night desk staff did immediately start to find solution to the problem.
Cons: Horrible experience. I checked in and received my room key. When I returned at midnight there was another person in my room. The manager had double booked the room. It took multiple calls to get refund. Night staff did find me a room ultimately.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: No soap in restroom Crap on the toilet seat and toilet bowl-mentioned to staff and nothing was done to correct.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The indoor was nice. The gentleman at the front desk was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The first room we were given had dark, coarse hair on the bed. Like maybe the sheets had not been changed. The second room had a clean bed but there was hair all over the bathroom but at least it was not on the bed. The hot breakfast was cold at 7:15.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
6.0 Good
Pros: Location was easy to find and access. Room rate was much better than surrounding hotels.
Cons: Entrance to building with the front desk needs to be upgraded (no automatic door that opens when you walk up. It feels like you're entering through the back door! The narrow stairway to get to your room on the second floor only accommodates one person.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Convenience
Cons: I specifically choose hotels that offer a hot tub because of severe back pain. The hot tub did not work and nobody seemed too concerned when I explained my issue.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was great!
Cons: Bed was hard.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location to KU.

Complimentary parking is available and also bus parking, and there is no charge for kids 17 and under when accompanied by an adult.
5.6 Okay
Pros: location.
Cons: Mattresses were too soft. Stairwells were ugly brown and green and felt dirty. I like to use the stairs when I'm only on the second floor. Out of cream by the coffee and no one around to get it. Had 2 printers and computers for the guests, but the printers didn't work. Employee was nice and let me use the desk one to print off my boarding pass.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was good for what you pay for. Probably could use a remodel or a fresh coat of paint. But for how cheap it was, it was good. Especially if your not spending a lot of time in the room.
Cons: Some walls had chips. Our room was supposed to be smoke free but it smelled like smoke when you walked in. Overall it was a decent room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This room met our needs; a good bed and hot shower.
Cons: The fan for the heater needs attention it was rather noisy.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Close to KU campus but far from I-35 and a little jaunt from I-70. The staff was friendly. The lobby was OK, and there was an RO water filter, which was nice for filling up water bottles. The shower head, though low in positioning, offered good pressure and the water was hot.
Cons: Overall, the hotel is dated and desperately in need of an update (the bathroom in the room was decent). The decor was tired, and most things just looked beat up - the tile floors in the lobby hallway, in the elevator and on the landings for each floor. Our first room was really smokey, so we ended up moving over to another one. Then we had to go back to the front desk to ask for soap, as there wasn't any in the bathroom. Not a huge deal, but overall, just another little thing in the less than ideal column.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: Room smelled awful, had to get a different room.
4.0 Okay
Cons: The place was dirty. Carpet was coming up and out the window was old lumber laying in the grass
6.8 Good
Pros: The beds were extremely comfortable.
4.0 Okay
Pros: The bathroom was clean.
Cons: As soon as we walked in the room an odor smacked us in the face. My adult daughter said it smelled like urine. I thought it smelled like some kind of cleaner that was covering a urine Snell. The room was also VERY humid and wet feeling. Even though the AC was running. Could also smell cigarette smoke from a guest that was smoking somewhere near our room. Definitely not what i expected for a Baymont Inn. Not worth the $95 I paid for it!!! I won't stay there again.

Pros: The staff were very nice, and the inn is located in a good spot.
Cons: The rooms had a musty smell and the halls had a smokey smell. The staff forgot to clean the room the last day we were there.
7.1 Good
Pros: The beds were comfy. Smoky smell in hallway but not in room. Some musty smells here and there and the decor is outdated. However for the price, it was fine. Very close to campus, easy to find. Pool didn't look too inviting. Very small. Staff was nice. Breakfast was average. But again for the cost, it was fine.
6.2 Good
Pros: Convenient and the staff was nice. The rooms were what you would expect but the beds were comfortable.

Cons: Main issue was very spotty internet.
5.7 Okay
Pros: staff were very helpful,

Pros: Attentive staff; clean rooms though obviously older motel. New, comfy beds, giant TV with satellite in each room. Small breakfast: hard-boiled eggs, toast, bagels, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, apples and bananas, orange juice, milk, coffee, hot chocolate. Great price! Well-lit parking lot.
6.0 Good
Pros: Clean room DirectTv was a nice addition Comfortable beds
Cons: Wireless internet service was inadequate. I could never connect to yahoo.com or cnn.com or do emails as I desired. Overpriced compared to similar newer options
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean comfortable bedding
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly. Excellent parking. Room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Liked the ramp instead of stairs to the second floor. Good value.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The initial thought was it was too cheap to be clean and good! We were very wrong! Upon entering the office, the auditor was friendly, nice and very conversational! The lobby was a bit different than most but it was quite efficient! The overall look of the property looked like a scene from a desert motel you see in the movies which was very deceiving! The rooms were clean, updated and had a nice modern design to them! A single AC unit kept the room cool and and updated Shower with a very nice shower head went well with the white clean fluffy towels! The bed itself was new, clean and bug free (I did a through check as we have had BB and now have BBPTSD, (Bed Bug Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome) and we're very weary now of hotels and bed bugs)! The chair in the room was also very clean and comfy and a nice work desk and office chair! The TV was a modern LG LED and a mini fridge, coffee maker and supplies as well as a small microwave. I was very very impressed with this motel and will in fact look them up again when I return to Lawrence! They made it a nice transition from the Virginia Inn to the DoubleTree hotel down the street where I was going to be for the rest of my business stay for work. I didn't feel Traumatized or even like I was staying in anything less than a 5 star hotel. A very good experience for a very cheap price!
Cons: Just a tad damp from the AC.

3.4 Mediocre
Cons: When we checked in we where approached by a person hi on drugs trying to sale a cell phone. After we checked in we went to our room and the refrigerator was missing and the TV would not turn on. They sent a service person to take a look at the TV and he tried to get it fixed. He worked on it go a hour and never got it to work. I was told that night that they would compensate us for this but the staff in the morning said they could not do anything for us. I called the next week and talked to the manager and he said he was going to comp the stay but 2 weeks later not one thing was done. VERY unhappy with the staff and management handling this
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: We booked under the false advertising of this location being a current doubletree. We found ourselves in an unnamed old holiday inn the best we could tell completely under construction all around us. The power also went out for an extended period of time and during check out it wasn't even mentioned by the front desk as a simply apology. There should have been an excessive reduced fee or reimbursement.
4.8 Okay
Cons: Old school HI. Convenient to I 70, but in the middle of a renovation looked a bit like a work zone. Worst part the nasty carpet in rooms and damp sheets from some frebreez type spray. Headed to CO, so just a place to crash. I will look for a newer hotel next time. However, friendly staff.

Cons: The room had a bit of a funny odor and definitely could have been cleaner. When I arrived, I washed my hands and face, then wiped down the vanity area to clean up the little bit of water I had dripped on the counter. When I was finished I looked at the towel, and it went from white to brown! That's how dirty the counter top was! I also noticed that one of the bath towels had a weird brown stain. I was going to take it to the front desk and exchange it for a clean one, but when I got within view of the lobby, I could see that the employees were watching a graphic sex scene on the flat screen that was hanging on wall, so I decided I didn't want to go in there. I didn't need another towel that badly. The metal staircases leading to the second floor became extremely slippery in the rain. I can't even imagine what they are like in the winter when they get icy. Definitely not worth the price, or even half the price I paid to stay there. Will not be returning.

Pros: It was easy to get to. Location was easy to find. My favorite part though, was checking OUT.
Cons: The reviews for this motel were very misleading. It was a horrible experience. The room was disgusting. Dirty, smelly, stains everywhere. Everything was dated, the towels were dirty (make up stains, etc.) We never took our shoes off in the room, and we used nothing from the facility itself. I frantically looked for another place to stay, but everything was already booked due to some sporting events. I will never stay there again.

Cons: From the holes in the wall to the broken screen and toilet seat, not a very well kept facility.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Seemed like nice people, perhaps family owned. Clearly worked hard to keep the facility up. Diligent cleaning staff. WiFi worked well.
Cons: It’s a time worn motel, the walls are thin and you can hear everyone above and adjacent to you. It was moderately comfortable. Not close to sufficiently available wall plugs.

Pros: There is absolutely nothing good I can say about this place and even less about its management
Cons: I didn't like anything, but especially the day time manager who was rude, cared less that somebody else was already in the room assigned to me. Then told me breakfast was closed, not that I would have eaten there anyway, when there was still time.
6.5 Good
Pros: the staff was freindly and helpful
Cons: for the price it wasnt well kept. the lock on my door was falling off. the bathroom tub was leaking and it looked like an old motel 6 type of room.

Pros: Staff was pleasant/helpful.
Cons: Outdated furniture, TV, and other amenities. Linens were threadbare and pillows were thin and small. Only positives were the water in the shower was hot and the towels were clean. Will not be back unless desperate,
