Pros. Kulm looked a little too good to be true for the price I was paying, more affordable than most hotels in the city itself and much nicer than the ones for the same price. Kulm was amazing. I paid for a "courtyard view" room but being on top of the mountain I could still see all across the Swiss countryside. The viewing area and observation tower in front of the hotel is spectacular and it's nestled at the top of a bunch of hiking trails so it's a popular spot for tourists and hikers during the day so you don't feel totally isolated. I will absolutely stay there again.
Cons. Many would probably dislike the seven minute walk (via wide dirt road) from the train station up to the hotel, I personally loved it but could see it being really annoying with a lot of luggage. Likewise the trains running there stop after 11pm and that is pretty much the only way up there without a really inconvenient hike since it's mostly a no car zone up there, so consider that if you're out clubbing.
