It was quiet
Being told on arrival they didn't really have space for us but they had moved things around to fit us in but we wouldn't have a Sea view, was not very welcoming. Beds were uncomfortable, carpet was wet from a leak in the bathroom and on one of the mornings we heard them scrapping burnt toast that was then served to us, sausages were burnt another day. So breakfast was not as fantastic as other reviews made it out to be. They need to repair the lift it is very difficult and dangerous to negotiate the stairs and fire doors with luggage.
Lovely location for sea views.
Lift didn't work.
Room, bedding and towels were very clean. Breakfast was very good. Location was pretty good. The reception was helpful and pleasant in the end!
We booked a twin bed room with a sea view for £120 at the Queensbridge but half an hour before my arrival in Aberyswyth I received a phone call saying there was a flood at the Queensbridge and that we would have to move to there sister hotel in the centre of town. When we got to the sister hotel, The Four Seasons, we were horified, there were people under the influence hanging about outside and it was really rough and nasty inside. However we soldiered on and asked to take a look at the room but on heading up the stairs to the room the hotel was so shabby and nasty that we didn't even look at the room and went back to the reception to ask for our money back. The receptionist called the manager who rang the Queensbridge to sort out a room there for us after all!? We then headed to the Queensbridge. On arriving at the Queensbridge the recptionist was very defensive and slightly aggressive when we complained about being moved to the other hotel and then having to come back to them. We were then give a room that was up 8 flights of stairs and the lift was broken! It only had a tiny high up window to see the sea (we had booked a sea view room). The receptionist then came up to our room and asked if we were happy with the room we told her we were not and we were then moved to a double room. This room was much better but as I was there with my adult daughter we would have prefered twin beds, it did have a normal level window with a good sea view and it was very clean, if a little dated. We came to Aberyswyth for a relaxing break but this start to our weekend was very stressfull and overall, although the room we finally got was ok it was definitely not worth the £120 charged. Also there was not sign of any flooding or leaks at the Queensbridge so I don't know what that was all about!!??
Friendly hosts. Very good view (to the sea).
The bathroom was a bit old, especially the door.
Location was fantastic and the beds were extremely comfortable.
The lift was out of order which meant climbing 3 flights every time we wanted to go to our room. This proved difficult with someone with bad legs and back. The shower was a trickle so took a while to wash hair, there was however a good selection of soaps etc. Breakfast was basic... the usual English fry up, cereal and yogurts. Would have been nice to see fresh fruit there or pastries especially considering the price we paid for the weekend stay.
