10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and sooo clean. Breakfast nice overlooking the beautiful pool. The one lunch I had was very tasty and well presented. These guys also do cooking classes so make sure to book one! Large room had its own terrace which was a bonus. Next time I'm in Merida, this is where I'll stay :0)
Cons: Only tiny flaw could be no lock on the inside of the room door. Not essential of course and didn't bother me. I know Merida is super safe for Mexico but you never know!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was gorgeous. Hosts fabulous
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Compared to other small, boutique hotels in Merida, the rooms are very modern and well-equipped. Bathroom is fabulous! Staff is very attentive. You defintely feel well cared for! Restaurant is also great, convenient, and food is well-priced.
Cons: It is about a 15-minute walk to the main downtown area of Merida, which in Merida's heat, is quite a ways!! But uber works well and staff are happy to call a taxi for you as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Out of all the hotels we stayed during our 18 day trip in Mexico, we felt the most relaxed and comfortable at this hotel. Not only it provides all the hotel functions to our full satisfaction with strong wifi even in the room, spacious room, comfortable bed, strong shower, and a much welcomed swimming pool after a day out in the Yucatan heat and power outlets at all the places needed (an often overlooked feature) it was the only hotel we stayed that had power outlets by each bed side without us having to fight over for phone charging. What's more is that while with all the comfort and privacy from staying at a hotel, we felt the care and warmth of the hotel owners as if we were staying with a good friend. They thought about our needs before we were even aware of such needs, such as reminding and giving us water on our way out marching in the midday sun, packed towels for our swimming in the cenote before we even thought about bringing towels! Last but not the least, we enjoyed the chats with other guests at the hotel over a free beer at the happy hour in the evening. We were very pleased that we chose this hotel.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was super friendly. Breakfast was good. I'm not sure if we were lucky, but parking was safe and easy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our home away from home. Loveley decorated and very clean little hotel in the most beautiful part of Mérida. Everyone was friendly and we had very nice conversations with the people from the hotel who never get tired about helping - thank you so much! The breakfast was fantastic as well and the restaurant and backyard nice to spent time in the evening for a drink.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute place not far from the city center. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the AC cooled the room off quick after a hot day! The best part about the hotel was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming and kind and willing to answer any and all of my questions. They took an interest in me as a guest and recommended things for me to do during my stay. Breakfast was also fantastic each morning- something new every day!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The decoration, with so much detail and care is quite unique and charming. With quiet garden/terrace spaces it is easy to chill after the noise of the city.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff, very comfortable room. Delicious large breakfast included.
Cons: Too bad there's no pool.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A copious breakfast is served at your table every day, with a different warm egg dish each time and homemade jam, dulce de leche and local honey. The rooms are very beautifully decorated and clean. Walking distance from the Plaza Grande, but Uber is all over Merida so that's an option too. Staff is extremely hospitable, nice, and knowledgeable about the area. Special shout out to Mariana for making us feel like old friends.
Cons: None.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the spanish atmosphere in the hotel, with a nice patio in the middle where we had our breakfasts, which btw were also great. Central location of the hotel
Cons: The bed was too short-180cm long, was not a problem for me, but my husband didn't find it comfortable. Bathroom on the upper floor could be a problem for elder people
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is in excellent conditions , the location is ideal and the staff welcoming!
Cons: Nothing is amazing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is like an oasis in the middle of Merida. We arrived there when there 40 degrees outside and we rested a bit in the room where the AC did its job properly. The room style is very nice and cosy. The inner court of the hotel is also stylish and welcoming.
Cons: We had an early flight and we asked if we can have a small package with some breakfast things. We got indeed few sandwiches, but everything was cold from the fridge. We really appreciated your effort, but it would have been great to have a freshly prepared sandwich
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Largo spacious room, very friendly staff, excelent location!
Cons: A bit noisy street
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The history!
Cons: N/A
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel, beautiful style, nice pool that was very cool AND we got a free upgrade to a bigger room! The staff also gave us great tips for dinner, best food we had in Mexico! The parking is nearby (a must in Merida) and the breakfast was lovely and plentiful!
Cons: The room was pretty bright due to the window in the ceiling but it did not bother us as we had to get up early in the morning
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly & helpful. The location was great, away from the noise & bustle of the town.
Cons: Our bathroom facilities were upstairs, which was a nuisance during the night. There was nowhere in the hotel, apart from our room that cool to sit in. The breakfast / lounge area-was very hot to sit in !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful courtyard hotel - traditional communal courtyard luscious and charming, elegant high rooms off the square- four poster bed and mezzanine shower and toilet. Private parking less than 50 m - cheap charge. Located just out of really busy area which suited us perfectly - only 10 minute walk to Sta Lucía. Staff fantastic - cannot praise them highly enough! Across two days different staff: made excellent restaurant recommendations, organised v reasonable laundry, organised a delicious picnic breakfast when we left early, assisted with an urgent call to England. Flexible and charming. Outdoor definitely stay here again.
Cons: The pool is very very small - useful for cooling down. No other criticisms.

Pros: Is a pleasure to stay in this georgeous place. Every one from the Owner Mr. Matt, Señor Jorge and every one give always their best to make you feel like home. Is vey well located; one block away from paseo Montejo. Breakfast is amazing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated, with attention to detail. Very friendly owner and super helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Well maintained little garden and pool.
Cons: Not much really... The hotel is near a very nice area, but is not located on the nicest street. Though it did not bother is, there is only 1 TV in a common room, so if there are many guests, you may have to share :-)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff are incredible, the owner Matt is lovely and the rooms are just the right size. The pool area is really nice as well.
Cons: Minor detail, and outside of the owners control, but location is fairly close to a rail yard and so train horns are noticeable from very early morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Matt and the staff were very helpful to our large group of mixed ages in all aspects and looked after us very well during our 2 night stay. Everyone loved the whole place including the ambience, lovely Mexican décor and the rooms, as well as the pool. Very highly recommended.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We've gotten all that we could expect from a Boutique hotel, superb service and attention.
Cons: There were a lot of harmless insects at night (not in the room), perhaps a pest control in the garden might be suitable during the season that we stayed.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: If you’re looking to experience Merida while staying in an authentic place, this is it. It looks just as one of the houses on a quiet residential street, but inside...you get everything you desire. Especially the staff is to be mentioned, since they’re genuinely concerned with every minute of your well being.
Cons: Everything was fine. The ten to fifteen minutes walk to the main square was hot in the afternoon, but the weather is outside the hotel’s influence, I’m sure.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very very friendly staff and owners. The property is stunning and very nicely renovated. We really liked the decoration and how the layout of the room was. Breakfast is served in the house next door on a communal table; it feels like home!!! Also because the property only has a few rooms it feels very personal. We will come back.
Cons: The property is 2 blocks from the beautiful Paseo Montejo. Walking to the Zocalo takes about 30 minutes in the burning sun. For us it was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would recommend everyone to come here! Our stay was fantastic! The staff is really friendly and attentive they make you feel like home, I think they all really make the difference! They also gave us lots of tips and recommendations The place itself is stunning, lovely decorations in Mexican style: I loved the patio. In the breakfast room there is a big table where you sit with other guests and get the chance to interact with them.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was homemade and delicious, staff is very friendly and generous. Owner helped with a car rent and getting to Uxmal, ask for their recommendations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location near the Paseo Montejo, but on a quiet street. Beautiful decor and a wonderful full breakfast.
Cons: While the air conditioning worked fine, a ceiling fan in the room would be a welcome addition, as it keeps the cool air moving in the room. Otherwise, this is a great choice if you want to stay near the Paseo.
Fiesta Americana - Merida - Mérida - Building
6
9.2 Excellent (5,671 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The majestic Fiesta Americana Mrida rises up at the intersection of Mrida's two most important avenues: Colon and Paseo Montejo, with Porfirian-style architecture that retains an exquisite elegance, together with modernity and technology; elements that ensure a pleasurable stay.An icon of the White City, a meeting point of Merida's society and an attractive destination for vacation and business travelers alike, without a doubt one of the best hotels in Merida, Mexico.By day or night, the hotel is breathtaking and entering, delights the eye with its elegant lobby decorated with mosaics, a central fountain and armchairs all around inviting to enjoy the elegant atmosphere. The Fiesta Americana Mrida has an adjacent shopping mall and a business center. Its convenient location allows you to reach the airport in 25 minutes and seven minutes from downtown, where you can learn the colonial heritage of the city, listen the Yucatecan trova notes and sample the typical dishes. We remind you that the check-in time is from 3:00 PM. Check-out is at 12:00 PM. We suggest you use our express check-out service.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is great although some little details need attention like water temperature in shower was not hot enough for me and water pressure needs to be increased probably by changing the shower heads to some more efficient
Cons: Check in/out process was good however there were some promotional people from the hotel picking up guests to offer memberships that I found a bit annoying
6.3 Good
Pros: I did not eat anything from the hotel.
Cons: Given the price of the room, there should have been continental breakfast as well as free coffee and tea for use in the room. The 2 little coffee capsules placed n the room were not free and if used would be charged. We were given 1 bottle water in the room when in most hotels its 2. The bed was a bit hard. On the positive side, the location is great and the ambience is good.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nothing special, but serves its purpose. Probably renovated recently.
Cons: No workout equipment in the gym as shown on the pictures. The staff informed us that they currently change the setup. Okay, but why didnt the hotel management inform potential guests about it and let them decide, if they still wanna come or change their reservations accordingly??
9.5 Excellent
Cons: The fitness center was incomplete but I later learned they are in the process of adding more equipment.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable place with great staff. Comfortable bed. Nice neighborhood. Food it pretty good, with many choices, including good salads and vegetables. Plain yogurt and other choices in the morning. I love plain yoghurt. Plenty of fish and potatoes and other things too. Helpful concierge. The elevator is very fast and amazing! Two bottles of water included each day. I brushed my teeth with the tap water and it was ok.
Cons: Fitness center is poor. They only had some treadmills and 1 cross-training machine (I think that is what it is called). And free weights, but no bench. I was expecting there to be at least 1 stationery bike, but there was none. Those bikes are easier on my knees. And I was hoping for some weight machines for upper and/or lower body, but there were none. I hope someone reads this and upgrades the fitness center. It is so basic and was very disappointing. Other than that, the hotel is great.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel it is really nice, the food was excellent. The personnel super friendly and helpful.
Cons: The main entrance to the hotel in the shopping area smelled really bad/weird, mix between food and mold. They could invest in a deodorant system there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent!
Cons: Everything.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Reception people were really good, the club where we had our BF and coffee breaks, I would like to thank Alfonso for his hospitality and other people in the club. The atmosphere of the hotel was fantastic. Also the location was so convenient for me to go to the conference.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cleanness, tremendous structure, great service provided.
Cons: Location wise it was all in all okay, in a nice area. However, it was 20/30 minutes far away from the city center on foot.

Cons: No coffee or coffee machine in the rooms and no room service before 7h00 AM.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were there for my wife's 50th birthday. The hotel staff was spectacular in helping me organize some surprises for her on her special day. They were also helpful in organizing private tours to the ruins and areas around Merida. The hotel is perfectly located a block off the main plaza and in the heart of the up and coming restaurant area and maybe a 15 minute walk to the Paseo Montejo. If you want to experience the feel of one of the old Merida homes, this would be a good option.
Hotel Palacio Maya - Mérida - Building
8
9.1 Excellent (645 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Palacio Maya in Mérida (Centro), you'll be a 5-minute walk from Paseo de Montejo and 12 minutes by foot from U.S. Consulate Merida. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Thanks to the staff at the reception counter, they were always ready to help and were smiling all the time. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. The hotel is located close to Paseo de Montejo and few minutes walk (15 min.) to the zocalo ( historic center ). The terrace was spacious and, even if shared with another room, there was no one there all week, sao I had the whole space to myself.
Cons: There was heavy rain every day and the water, somehow, by the window and by the floor, got inside the room. I had to ask twice to the staff to come and clean it. When they came to clean it the were 4 or 5 of them and they were laughing like I was making a big drama out of it. All other days I used all the towels to sponge the water myself. At the pool bar there were no staff, I had to ask for service and, I had to stay at the hotel one night because of the flood in the street so, I went to the restaurant downstairs, there again I had to ask for service. The terrace, even if spacious, is directly exposed to the sun, there is no shabe befofre 3 in the afternoon. I asked, on the first day, if it was possible to divide the terrace with all the big flower pots here and there, not knowing there wont be anyone in the other room. I had to do it myself !
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Bathrooms
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Service & pool are very good, pretty friendly staff. Location is the best pretty close from Merida downtown.
Cons: Shower needs improve, there’s a modern device with some defects (Water leak on the bottom). Parking lote should has better access to hotel, we have to walk out through main entrance
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a jacuzzi suite, best deal ever! They even have bubbles! My Kids were extra happy!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was emaculant
Cons: The over all was gd... just a few details such as minimum towels, water supply was cold 3 out of the 7 days I stayed. Minor things
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was very economic to stay at this place.
Cons: The view.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was traveling to Merida with a friend who was having surgery, and we needed a hotel close to the hospital, that would be comfortable, and clean for her and have some things for myself and her 13 year old daughter to do while she recuperated. The Palacio Maya completely wowed us. We chose a suite, and it was huge! Very comfortable beds with thick comforters and fluffy pillows, and small kitchenette (with an electric tea kettle - bring your tea bags!) and dining table. I had to work while I was there, and the internet was great. I took an hour long international conference call with no issues. :-) The rooms have large flat screen smart TV's so Netflix and other streaming services are easy to access - in English or Spanish. :-) Although not in the central historical area itself, it is walking distance to Paseo Montejo and a short bus (or taxi) ride to the centro. But the absolutely best thing about this hotel is its grounds. The perfectly groomed gardens made me feel like I was in a stately home in the tropics, with hammock, flowering vines, an absolutely massive fruiting mango tree, and peacocks roaming around. Heaven!
Cons: The only negative was that the water smelled like sulphur, so the bathroom was not so great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything - the staff were fantastic and very helpful, the pool and garden were great and the room was so comfortable. Would definitely recommend!
Cons: It was a bit of a walk to the Plaza Grande however this wasn’t an issue for us. Everything else was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very beautiful hotel
7.0 Good
Pros: Close to centre. Friendly staff.
Cons: Food was terrible. Worst ever. Had to buy take aways for my stay.

The should fire all of them including the manager! Only one girl (Joly) was friendly and apologized for all the mistakes and payed back the money.

Pros: The view. I was on floor 8th, the highest! Very appreciate that they gave me my preferred floor, The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room service is really good and meet our expectation.
Cons: just when we book for 3 adults it will be great to find the towels for 3 persons (it happens all the time in all properties in general), you might make a different doing it from the start :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fiesta Inn never disappoints. The quality is consistent and you can always expect the same great service every time around. My favorite place to stay in Merida. Oh yeah!! And the breakfast buffet is the best!
Cons: No complains.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fácility was very clean and all the staff were very professional...
Cons: Parking lot was a little far and was crowded due to the casino’s traffic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent business class hotel. Quiet. Good Internet. Excellent location for accessibility to the region.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great easy and not expensive
Overview Reviews
Once a Spanish general’s stately mansion, this Merida luxury hotel blends colonial elegance with modern convenience. Relax on our outdoor terrace and enjoy the finest tequila selection in the city. Explore historic Yucatán and the tree-lined splendor of Paseo de Montejo, once Mexico’s wealthiest district. This Merida luxury hotel is also well placed to explore the area’s fascinating heritage, including Uxmal and the ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The food service and staff in the restaurant are fabulous.
6.3 Good
Pros: Easy to find in Merida and convenient to park - decent size, clean and quiet hotel room with a comfortable king-size bed.
Cons: Highly unprofessional staff which is really uncommon and even quite shocking for the Intercontinental Brand. We did not feel welcomed in any way ; on the contrary. As the most striking example : the fridge/mini-bar in the room is locked with a key which they did not provide us with - only until after a deposit of 1,000 peso was made (!?). Because this experience in Merida was so disappointing, we decided NOT to stay in the Intercontinental Hotel in Cancun (which had been our original plan). I would advise Intercontinental to train the staff in client-friendliness
6.2 Good
Pros: Location, quietness
Cons: Bathroom, a/c, concierge service, quality
7.5 Good
Pros: Lobby
Cons: Parking
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a king size bed which was very comfy!! Free parking in the middle of the city. Very good breakfast buffet. Aircon silent. Good Internet.
Cons: Though the hotel is more on the luxury side it gets old. The shower made weird sounds. There is a hd tv but the entertainment software and quality is from the 90s (we plugged it off und used our fire tv stick ;). Pool is tiny but enough for a dip in.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The beds were very comfortable and the shower was very nice.
Cons: Having to pay for extra tea and coffee was really annoying, especially having paid what we did for the room. Why is the concierge on the second floor!, my key did not fit the door for me to gain access. Small swimming pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome hotel. Like staying in a museum.
Cons: No fridge in room unless you unlocked mini bar.
6.3 Good
Pros: location
Cons: outdated no hot water bumpy mattresses
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It is a luxury hotel with plenty of additional services and amenities at (close to) Mexican prices. The location of it is very convenient, right at the beginning of one main street with lots of cafes and eateries, leading into historic Merida.
Cons: The swimming pool area was a bit of a disappointment. It is a very small deck with like 6 loungers crammed right between the hotel wings. No sun reaches there at any time and having two people on the deck already feels crowded so don't count on using it. Also, the WiFi signal was strong everywhere but the connection was inconsistent, constantly cutting out for short periods of time. Checking mail and messaging was fine, but not good at all for VoIP calls or god forbid, streaming.
6.2 Good
Pros: Location, easy check-in, check-out, breakfast buffet
Cons: Bathroom design, surroundings outside window
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed! Super comfortable and big. Shower was great. Location was a short walk or taxi. Staff amazing and excellent at helping us with onward travel.
Cons: Having stayed in The Intercontinental around the world, it was a little dated, although the price reflected that.
6.3 Good
Pros: THE BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT. THE HOTEL IS WELL LOCATED. BUT THE BUILDING, ELEVATORS, POOL, ROOM SERVICES ARE OLD AND SLOW. THE POOL TOO SMALL AND THE LOBBY BAR TO SMALL ALSO. I WOULD RATHER STAY AT THE FIESTA AMERICANA ONE BLOCK AWAY NEXT TIME AND I AM AN IHG MEMBER.
Cons: THE ROOM TOO LOUSY, IT WAS COMMUNICATED WITH THE OTHER ROOM.THE LIGHTING IS OLD. THERE IS NO SERVIBAR SERVICE. AND THE ROOM SERVICE IS TOO SLOW. THE POOL IS TOO SMALL AND A LOT OF CHILDREN FOR SUCH AN SMALL POOL. THE GYMNASIUM IS REALLY RIDICULOUS. ONLY 4 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT AND NO BODY BULIDING AND IT WAS ALWAYS CLOSED AND HOT.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in a very nice garden with beautiful swimming pool. The kindliness of the staff. Easy access by car to the center of Merida.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds, the bathrooms, the beds, the service, the pools, the gardens, the food. The pet-friendly policy!
Cons: There was nothing outright negative about our stay. It was delightful. The rooms could feature some more art and the beds could include a heavier comforter/bedspread since the A/C is necessary and gets the room very cold. Despite that, the bedding was great and we slept really well.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful!! We were staying for 1 night only but we loved the hotel that much that we book for 2 extra nights Staff very friendly and helpful
Cons: The hotel is not in the town center, however it did work well for us as we preferred a quite place
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The place is really nice but too far away from downtown. You need to get uber or taxi or hace your own rental. The neighborhood not very nice. Maybe the hotel should offer a shuttle
Cons: The area where the hotel is located. It gets noisy st night
8.0 Excellent
Cons: It didn't appear to be kept in the best condition and seemed a bit past its prime. No-one else really staying there which was a bit weird, but can't be helped.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The most nicest staff! Rooms are not very spacious but have everything you need! Good breakfast and in the middle of the city center.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous pool and it’s so quiet and relaxing
Cons: Breakfast could do with larger choice Fridge in room would help
6.3 Good
Pros: Lovely design and pool. Delicious breakfast although it wasnt included. Good location.
Cons: The staff didn't speak english, they need an english speaking person on site in the day and we had a room that suffered from damp and looked nothing like the photos. The manager was helpful and did compensate us as we left a night early which was a nice touch.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They gave us an upgrade to a small property next door. The VIP area. A small annex with 6 rooms and a pool. The decor was wonderfull. I really liked the big rooms and big bathroom.
Cons: There were only tables for 2 persons for breakfast. We were with 4, so had to split up.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. Quiet. Intimate.
Cons: Ice would have been nice.
7.0 Good
Pros: it’s in a great location. The paid breakfast was reasonably priced and good. The pool and garden area is lovely, a great place to relax and read a book - a little oasis in a busy city.
Cons: The staff weren’t as friendly as in other hotels we stayed at in Mexico and despite it being a very friendly city. The bed could do with a new mattress and the gaps round the windows and doors in our room meant we had mosquitoes coming in.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: After4 days of horseback riding competition in Progreso (exhausted!), my daughter and I have decided to spend weekend in Merida centro. The hotel was perfect for both relaxing and exploring the city as the location was so convenient yet offering quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed tastefully decorated rooms, beautiful pool, and wonderful breakfast by the courtyard. Besides free parking 50 meters away was a big plus! There was small miscommunication with staff (probably language related, nothing major) and the owner helped us out and even offered us free upgrade to their best suite, which we didn't expect nor thought it was necessary at all, we were already happy at where we spent our first night! We appreciated it very much and also it was a pleasant surprise that management did care for their guest's best experience in this highly rated boutique hotel. I'd definitely recommend it and will stay there again in our next visit to Merida.
Cons: Nothing really.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast had great quality and was served without any one time wrappings! Outstanding.
Cons: Couldn’t extend the stay, unfortunately.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this hotel! In the beginning we were a little bit dissapointed because of the size of the room. If you book the smallest room, you get a really small room. Anyway, it didn't really matter: they have a really nice swimming pool with chairs,... And the bathroom was big enough with nice soap, shampoo,... But if you want a bigger room, pay for it, they have 2 great rooms with view on the pool and a hammock. The location was also perfect: like 5 minutes from the city center with free parking (1-2 minutes walking). Breakfast was the best of our trip (it wasn't included, but it was still worth the 80 pesos). You could choose from 3 options: continental breakfast, american or mexican. We chose continental: there was fruit, a croissant or yoghurt with granola, bread with amazing jam (really good!), thee or coffee. Last but not least: the people who work there are really professional and nice!
Cons: We thought the room was a bit too small, so if you care about this: book a bigger room ;-) But go to the hotel, because it's perfect! :-)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great locations. The rooms were nicely decorated and comforable. The pool was definitely a nice touch in the city as it was scorching. The cocktails were also real good.
Cons: The room was a little on the dark side, but meant it was cool. Would have been useful if they had a few options at lunch, as by 1pm the city was so hot and we just wanted to sit pool side.

Pros: Absolutely delightful hotel, well-located right in the Centro of Mérida. The staff were exceptional, including the housekeeping, servers in the restaurant, and at the front desk. If you’re not a Spanish speaker, fear not as many of the reception staff speak excellent English. I’m fluent in Spanish except for some technical things, and communication was totally fine. The breakfast was great every day. The pool is very welcome on hot days. The gym was great considering I didn’t want to run outside. All in all, an excellent stay for two weeks and I’ll be back for sure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, Price, breakfast

Pros: The fruit water in reception. Excellent breakfast. Great location if you want to be in historic center. Parking.
Cons: A more of comfortable chair in the room would have been nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is right in the heart of down town so you could walk and get around easily and safe!
Cons: The maid seemed to forget to replace the towels she took out of the room so when one comes out of the shower, their were no towels to dry off with.

Pros: The stay, albeit short, was very pleasant. The breakfast ...... AMAZING!! Excellent service and wonderful staff. Can’t better than that!
Cons: The parking was a bit tight.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: fantastic breakfast ! the best i had in 6 weeks mexico ! really very good.
Cons: from the garage into the hotel no direct stairs.only outside around the building.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a feast, extremely inclusive and tasty. The room was spotlessly clean, and had everything, although some tea would have been nice along with the coffee. The overall quality of the hotel made it one of the best I have ever stayed in, especially at such a bargain price.
Cons: Overall, the staff were very attentive and smiling but many were a little officious and lacking customer care skills.

Pros: Great location and lots of character
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everyone was helpful, the room was comfortable, breakfast superb and the location was convenient. We actually left Progreso 2 days early to return to the hotel for sightseeing in Merida. Gracias to Carlos & Deigo.
Cons: The pool area is lovely. We sat pool side with wine and enjoyed a fabulous breeze on 2 evenings ....my feet made it into the pool but it seemed too chilly to take the plunge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa del Balam is very well located in the heart of the historic district within an easy walk to the main plaza. We were there for a scientific meeting which was right across the street at the University of the Yucatan. Restaurants are all nearby and the one attached to the Casa was as good as any. We had breakfast every day (we were there a week) in the Casa's courtyard beside the fountain and serenaded by the white-winged doves. The room was on the second floor so we walked up and down and it became a haven for those really hot days you get in May in the Yucatan. The room was always clean and cool and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was most welcoming and ready to arrange a tour, give you more bottled water or answer any questions. All in all a great place to stay for a very reasonable price.
Cons: We liked everything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, we liked the Art Deco style
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in city center. The building has a nice atmosphere. Comfortably equipped rooms.
Cons: Apart from the airco there’s a ventilation system that is quite noisy and cannot be switched of. The minibar fridge was very noisy too, but you can unplug this when you go to sleep.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Well located, quiet
Cons: The booking in system had lost our booking. The hot water system was not working.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was lovely! It was sparking clean and beautiful! The location was central to everything we needed. The best part was the hotel staff member, Carlos! He was the most helpful, kind person. He took his time to answer all my questions, he helped me decide on our tour outing and booked a wonderful tour for us. Additionally, he helped us book a rental car for our day of independent exploring and on our final day he reserved our private driver to get us to our next destination. He was always smiling and willing to help!

9.7 Excellent
Pros: Avery nice hotel . The staff was the Best I ever received.
Cons: Again the service. I have traveled to several countries and this was the best service. They really made one feel especial.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff especially Rogetwho spoke wonderfulEnglish and was very helpful Pool area is really lovely with food and bar service as needed.
Cons: I wish the hotel promoted things to do in Mérida more with brochures and magazines to read Also a little bar fridge in the room would be wonderful and large jugs of water in the corridor.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. They were quick to deal with our refund when we wanted to cut our stay short. The hotel was in walking distance of the centre of Merida.
Cons: Our balcony door was broken and could not lock. Our room was very basic, with a terrible view of a busy road. However, the main reason we cut our stay here from 5 nights to 2 nights was the extreme noise from the road. Impossible to sleep through, even with earplugs.
7.5 Good
Pros: The pool was good. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
Cons: It was fine, although I would say standard. The hotel feels cramped but the rooms are fine. The staff a little indifferent, but not bad. Just average. There is better close by for about the same price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All staff was great ! Housekeeper was fantastic, kept Room spotless.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The morning buffet is excellent - wide variety, fresh made to order omelets. great staff. great value for your money.
Cons: open up a little earlier, especially before leaving for an early flight.
6.3 Good
Cons: Swimming was closed for cleanning
7.0 Good
Cons: No hot water for shower
6.3 Good
Pros: The beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean. The location is great as well, you can walk easily everywhere in the historical center of Merida. This hotel has a good restaurant with the excellent breakfast.
Cons: Overall didn't feel like you are in 4* hotel. The property is very old and doesn't maintain good. We had cracks in the sink, the water in the shower didn't go away fast. And the most disappointed part... it was so noisy. You can hear everything from next door rooms and from the all your floor. Starting 8 am hotel staff was walking around with full volume walkie-talkies. That was really annoying. Curtains are not blackout.
6.3 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a great location but in my opinion it’s not a 4 star hotel, the room has no windows and it’s noisy but the bed is comfortable
Cons: Noise, I paid for a premium room but I was dissatisfied
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is amazing from staff, kitchen and hotel location. The house keeper kept our room clean all the times and that was amazing. The room service was fantastic as we requesting food and drinks and it was immediately delivered.
Cons: We ask for a taxi and one of the workers wisper to the taxi driver charge them more than expected. I didn't mind but the worker shouldn't do that. Especially in front of guests. I would have paid taxi driver more than expected because he was a good driver and give us a history about Merida but I was upset about the wispering to charge us more.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The cost per night at the front desk was 50% less than what Kayak advertised. We felt ripped off. The hotel was conveniently located, and the breakfast was excellent. The parking for the hotel is 75m away on the same street. The mattresses and pillows were firm, and clean. Having not been for paying double of what the hotel cost, this would have been an excellent experience.
Cons: That the cost was 50% for the walk in rate.
