You can expect a fantastic breakfast with a great variety of choices, all delicious. The staff are relaxed but obviously work hard in a relentless environment. The evening meals are the same in the bar as the dining room and you order from the bar. Personally, I would consider the meals good old fashioned substantial bar meals, none of your pretentious BS and just the job if you had come down a mountain or had a day in the fresh air.

The room was good, but the shower needed anti-slip mats and/or a grab rail and the water flow, although hot, was weak. A small thing, but being told that the kitchen was closing shortly so to be quick with our dinner order was a bit off-putting when we got to our pre-arranged dinner table (booked for 7.30). Just made us feel a bit rushed. However, the food was delicious and piping hot.

The hotel is set in an idyllic spot in Rydal in the Lake District. The staff are very pleasant, rooms very clean and spacious, and the views breathtaking. Breakfast on a morning was lovely and catered for all tastes. Sitting outside on a night was really nice. The hotel is central also for all other villages. It's a great place, and guests will be back.
