Sun and moon Resort - Andeok-myeon - Building
1
9.2 Excellent (424 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Sun & Moon Resort in Seogwipo (Andeok), you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Jeju Shinhwa World and Yongmeori Coast. Featured amenities include express check-in, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Free valet parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful place a few steps from many beaches on the south side of Jeju island! The room had big window mirrors to gaze out to the field, which made for a perfect ambience when eating your free breakfast. Service was also wonderful, as they replied quickly through Whatsapp, and even offered assistance during our stay at a different hotel on the north side of the island.
Cons: The staff would often ask us questions in Korean, even though we didn't speak the language. Some cleaning staff also assumed when we would like our room to be cleaned, even though we requested a different time. It wasn't a huge deal, but I would imagine a DND sign or equivalent electronic system would have helped us clear those misunderstandings.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Firstly, the lady owner & the staff were very nice, helpful & friendly. They were always ready to meet the customers’ needs & gave useful tips & recommendations. Second, the view was picturesque and whenever you look out of the room, it really made you feel relaxed. The kids also had fun swimming on the rooftop & just playing outside the big lawn as some games & basic sport equipment were available. Not to mention the resort kept high degree of cleanliness & the room was all nicely cleaned up after you came back from sightseeing.
Cons: There was lack of privacy when using the spa in the room as the curtains had to be securely drawn. But this wasn’t a big problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Julie and Michael were incredibly helpful with recommendations for things to do, places to eat, and any other requests. They and the entire staff went above and beyond. The rooms are modern and tasteful, with lovely views of the water. The resort is in a quiet location, perhaps too quiet for those wanting to be in a larger city or bustling resort area. But we liked the relative quiet and note that it is walking distance or a short drive to many restuarants and convenience stores. It is across the street from the ocean and a beach with surfers as well as part of the Ollie walking trail. It may be quiet for some but we found it to be a perfect balance.
Cons: Breakfast was served a little late for us early risers. A pot of coffee would have been better than 1 cup of coffee each. The egg sandwiches were good, as was the fruit and other bread.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a boutique hotel and not for everyone. However, as every traveler should, if you do your due diligence and research the area and activities that interest you, and they lead you to this place, you will not be disappointed. The staff is at your very beckoning call. They are your personal consierge and can set you up with anything you desire.........just ask.
Cons: Very minor, but we did not like the motion detector light in the entrance that would always go on whenever someone went to use the restroom at night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location right across a grassy patch in front of our ground floor room, was a lovely beach with a quaint light house at one end, so incredibly peaceful and restful. The owners, Julie and Michael were so helpful and obliging and nothing was too much trouble. They helped us organize pizzas for the kids and recommended places to see as well as booking the driver for us for tours on the island. Rooms are perfectly adequate if a little odd, as there is a jacuzzi next to the front door, which took up a good portion of the room. The little kitchen was a bonus. I highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: The bathroom in our room was odd as you had to walk through the shower room to get to the toilet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view! The breakfast, kid friendliness, the coffee and a great location!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was fabulous! Very helpful in every way possible.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, beautiful rooms. Good aircon. Breakfast is served to to room, it's simple but tasty. Nice, quiet location for relaxation. Yard is nice playground for kids.
Cons: The outdoor pool, I wouldn't trust the water filtering system. Ocean is just across the street, so enjoy that. Bring your water shoes. Location is a bit remote of Jeju's larger village centres.
7.1 Good
Pros: It’s next to the sea
Cons: There is nothing else around
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely being so close to the sea. View from the room was lovely. Nice touch of the breakfast being delivered to you room - simple but delicious if you like bread.
Cons: Curtains did not block out any light, so bring an eye mask if you want a lay in.

It’s peaceful and a nice place for a family. You should also try and rent a car or get familiar with the bus station down the road. 9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place was neat and clean. Nightsleep was so comfy. There was no sound leakage or noise surrounded the area. Rooftop gave a nice view the surrounding area.

Pros: The accommodation was really lovely on a good spot on the island. Very quiet and close to the beach. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. I would like to send them a big thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. Though we didn’t have a car, which would be recommended for the island, they tried everything they could to help us around! We really had a good time and would definitely recommend staying here!

Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The lovely hosts Sten and Anne went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay. The location of the property is very good with a lovely garden overlooking Mt. Sangbansan. We stayed two nights and managed to walk most of the Olle trail 10, visit the dragons head rocks and walk to the temple on Sanbangsan as well as have two nice meals. The property is walking distance to some nice cafes and the beach.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was an amazing experience. the owners were really awesome, they make you feel home. The hotel location is good but you need a car to go there. For me it was best thing we have done in Korea is meeting this family. They were very friendly and welcoming, they even were worried about us when we come late. They make us feel home. They even let us barrow there bicycle and guild us around the island. I would defiantly come back again, not just to see Jeju, but to meet the owners of this place again.
Cons: there were some mosquitoes at the time we arrived, but we didn't care that much, if you don't like insects make sure that the time you arrive that there is not that much.

Loved how helpful and friendly the staff there were, they really helped us getting food delivered for our dinner, calling taxis for us and recommending good and cheap restaurants around the area for us to go to! Felt really homely here.
Cons: The location is really quite a far walk from the nearest bus stop (about 10 minutes) but if you're renting a car, the coastal area nearby is easily accessible still, and taxis aren't too expensive.

5.8 Okay
Pros: I was a Marriott fan for 20 years, haven’t stayed much at other chains. However, this Marriott exceeded my expectations on food - and on food only. This is probably the best hotel restaurant experience I’ve had in my life (I’m talking not only about Marriott inc, although it is biggest in the world now); the chef with his cooks deserve a medal. Healthy stuff was fresh and perfect; unhealthy stuff was amazingly delicious. Only one meal at night restaurant was bad - burned butter killed the taste. But hopefully they learned on their mistake. All the rest meals I had very too good, which is quite annoying for all the chefs and cooks I’d meet in future. The concierges and bellmen are very professional - and extremely helpful. The front desk girls are very nice. The casino could compete with Wynn palace in Macao - very beautiful facility. You can literally see how many $ millions were invested. Pity it’s so empty. Pity people are going there in shorts and flipflops, and you allow it. Smoking rooms have no odour of the previous smoke at all. This is very impressive. And this is where it ends. If I was a Marriott auditor, you’d have been very unhappy, because in terms of service you mostly failed, starting from “Thank you, sir” several times a day in live and on the phone, when I’m clearly too female by looks and voice and too young yet for looking even close to a man. Also, you don’t even have some sandwich option for early leaving customers, and I’m not ready to pay ₩45000 for 2 pieces of bread with a slice of meat in between when I don’t have time for a proper breakfast before the flight and just something to bite on the way to the airport, so I would starve to death. I was shocked. Seriously.
Cons: Well, the facility is good, but the management is poor. First of all, the music level everywhere - it is just too loud. Especially outside. The pool is empty this time of the year, why the hell you got music there? I could hear it through the shut balcony door. If your guests have jet lag or would like to get a daytime nap, it’s impossible. Sleep deprivation guaranteed. I slept with earplugs, which is very uncomfortable. I checked the outside of the other building without the pool area - there you also have that stupid elevator music so loud, it is just impossible to be in the room. Outlets is the same story. If you don’t have many people shout in the room, why the music is so loud? Who’s that genius ordered this?! It’s annoying to sit at the bar and listen such loud music. Second of all, it’s either you have big bath tub and small wardrobe or big wardrobe but tiny bathtub. I wanted to change my room, because space at that tiny wardrobe is not just enough for someone, who came for more than 1-2 nights. I didn’t change the room, because the no big bath tubs with big wardrobes at the same Were available even at the smoking bld. Note it for your future guests. Why don’t you have a floor without children? Seriously, having a quiet time, when children are running and screaming at the corridors is just impossible. Since mediocracy is ruling nowadays and people do not raise their children to respect other people’s piece and privacy, you could at least do the favour to people, who does request quiet rooms. You had a tournament, your guests were mostly sleeping daytime, and you are well aware of that. But it doesn’t seem anyone thinks about guests’ comfort anymore. As for the the design of the rooms and outlets, it’s more Renaissance chain than Marriott. I’ve stayed at smaller rooms that were designed more comfortably than this 38 sq m. No space to hide a suitcase, for example. There are stains on the walls from the previous guests. Is it that difficult to clean it?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You have everything at the location, its huge. Few days later I stayed at Lotte resort in Jungmun which was much more expensive but very dissappointing compared to Marriot Shinwha hotel. I also liked the band that was playing in the evening at the ground floor.
Cons: Some stores are not yet open, but when I see that four seasons hotel will open there as well I think it will be even better in the future
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool was a lot bigger than I expected. The breakfast buffet was great, although it could get a little crowded during peak times (8:30-9:30). Good to have everything (food court, restaurants, amusement park, entertainment) on the resort.
Cons: General location was a little out of ways in Jeju, so you had to drive out quite a bit To get to Jeju attractions and restaurants.
6.7 Good
Pros: Only bed I like for this hotel and maybe that’s the reason why I keep choosing Marriott hotels, the front desk and concierge service is all good, I like to give a helper named Jane Kwan a two thumbs up service!
Cons: The bathroom was awful because the way the door design was too awkward and shower area flooded all the time and I spent so much time to mopping the wet floor, the toilet was stuck and we requested to change the room ……
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The rooms and halls were bright. The shuttle is every 2 hours, check before booking flight.
Cons: The photo was so nice, the actual facility was nothing like it. I vomited from food poisoning when I asked for maid service they came and vacuum only. I had to ask for them to mop the floor. None of the shops are open until 11:00 am -12:00 pm
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff are very friendly The facilities were very good for family
Cons: The cleaning staff are not very clean
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Modern and clean rooms. Great food in the Marriot restaurants (Japanes, Chinese, Korea, Steakhouse). Nice breakfast buffet.
Cons: Pool area not suitable for adults. Weak gym. Waterpark pretty boring.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The only good thing in the complex was the G-DRAGON pool table..
Cons: If you're the type of person who enjoys the rich-like experience, sure,.. have a blast :/, But if you value your money, read this: Parking: Far. Check-in: The check-in was long + waiting in the waiting area although we arrived 1 hour post our check in time. The Room: The room was a basic Delux room, nothing fancy. The closet for cloths was at the end of the room and did not have much space. The coffee mugs had a funky smell. the bathtub was dirty. Breakfest: Poor. poor quality, poor vegetables options, poor coffee + at the entrance they set us without asking for our room number which was great!, it's called 'care-free'. but! then in the middle of our poor breakfest they put a bill on our table, we asked the manager "what's it about?!", he said "don't worry about it, if you already paid for breakfest, just write down your room number". so we kept eating our breakfest. then again another girl asked to put down the room number, while i'm chewing!! so i said the room number, then she insisted that I will write it myself, with the dirty pen! And this happened repeatedly across the tables around us, So I put down the freaking room number, and guess what happened at check-out: Check-out: at check-out, they charged me 2 times for the breakfest! Tax refund: None! Gym: Poor! more then 3 peep is a crowd... Pool: meh... Sauna: Ok. Overall, it was a waist of time and there are 3 stars hotels which can provide a better experience!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The facilities are new Rooms are clean and comfortable Staff are friendly and helpful
Cons: Nothing much

Pros: Location is good, next to sanbangsan mountain and yongmeori coast. The room was spacious.
Cons: The roller blind was full of mold, there were cracks in the sink and the laminate flooring was loose. The outside of the pension is in need of a paint job. Because of this the pension feels outdated and we didn’t have a great stay.

4.6 Okay
Cons: No room cleaning service. No breakfast could be offered. There are some bugs or spiders in the room, it's terrible! Pros: View was really amazing and very close for Olle 8, Olle 9 course. Interesting neighborhood to experience authentic Jeju with sprinkle of hipsterness. Cafe is also nice and Korean breakfast is interesting. It's not the fanciest "boutique" hotel but for the price I paid completely worth it.
Cons: The first room we were assigned was smelly. We complained and they changed the room (actually a bigger one) then it was perfect.
