Pros: I was in over 100 different hotels in Germany in budget 50-100 euro per one night. I saw Bad and really nice places. This hotel is definitely the best one which I’ve ever been!! Very clean, stuff the best level, really good breakfast!! I hope I will able to sleep Here once time!

Pros: Beautiful and large rooms. The oweners are warm and personable. A large breakfast bufett is included. The daily rate is low! This is also one of the best restarants in town!

Pros: Really quaint comfortable rooms. Excellent food on restaurant. Restaurant manager had a great selection of digestives and knew how to present the differences. We tried a few!

Cons: My room was facing the main road which can get noisy at times during the night.

Pros: Very friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. The room has what you need. The restaurant is serving tasty local dishes. There's also a REWE nearby where you can buy anything you might need.

Cons: The wifi signal is weak and only works sometimes. A fan for the hot summer days would be helpful since the rooms can get hot. Music from the restaurant can be disturbing if your window is facing the yard.

Pros: Very friendly and very relaxed atmosphere. Quiet area, in lovely surroundings. Breakfast and dinner was absolutely great and worth the money.The owner and staff made you feel very welcome.

Pros: The backyard is really lovely, we enjoyed an afternoon beverage in the sunshine. The owners are super friendly and the breakfast was great.

Cons: The wi-fi didn't work in the room and there is literally nothing to do within walking distance. That said, the hike up to the Steinkirche was just a few minutes drive and shouldn't be missed and the Unicorn Cave is also nearby.

Pros: The hotel is situated in a nice area of Bad Lauterberg near the Kur Park and a very nice Italian restaurant. The hotel is decorated in an extremely attractive modern style, and the room was spacious and comfortable.

Pros: Very cosy and lovely hotel. We had the Christmas Dinner Menu which was great. And very good breakfast buffet. Very nice and friendly people.

Pros: Very well run establishment. Comfortable beds and good breakfasts. The restaurant food was superb. There was a large parking area, the only thing that let it down was the traffic noise from our room.

Pros: Located in a quiet green environment, but within short walking distance to the city or shopping centres if needed. Great starting point for walks in the Harz mountains. Very warm hearted welcome by friendly owners. Nice, clean and quiet room and great bathroom with everything a traveller needs. Marvellous filling breakfast. Place is suitable to stay longer than just for a weekend.

Pros: A pleasant hostel with personality. The owners were friendly and helpful. A tasteful breakfast was served. There is also a cosy garden to spend time in. Clean rooms. We highly recommend this, best place on our trip throw Germany!

Cons: Beware heightened costs! I was quoted E217.60 for the four-night stay on Booking.com This increased to E232 plus taxes on the invoice. Breakfast was actually 8,50 including tax.. Then there was a total tax amount to pay. SoI was charged about 24Euros more than I expected.

Pros: Breakfast at Hotel Riemann was a leisurely affair not to be hurried, plenty of excellent quality food, good coffee, and friendly staff.

Cons: The wifi required constant signing in.

Pros: Enjoyed the meal in the evening. Ate outside and was given a blanket for when the temperature dropped. Great location.

Cons: External bathroom. To be fair it was clear on the confirmation which I obviously didn’t check but wouldn’t have booked if I’d realised. Not sure it was very clear when booking.

Pros: Great Location, big restaurant with plenty of room, Breakfast was good, friendly staff, we was able to book in early, On a recent trip to the Hartz mountains we stayed in 3 hotels over 9 days, this was by far the best hotel by a mile really nice.

Pros: The hotel was just a short walking distance from the walking district of the town and all of its restaurants, shops and other locations. The owner was very helpful. One caveat - if booking from the United States to Germany, the hotel wanted a down payment. I was able to contact the owner and assure him I would in fact carry through with my reservation and pay upon arrival, which was sufficient for him to ensure the reservation was kept without any bank transfer down payment.

Pros: The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is very nice.

Cons: The property is excessively German in the way it regulates every single detail. There is ample room for improvement in making the guests feel really welcome. The most striking examples: - Dinner is served until 7.30pm sharp, and not a minute longer. Make sure you get your food before, and you fill your glass with water, because at 7.31pm the buffet shuts down and the water dispenser is switched off. - If you would like to have a massage during your stay (which might happen in a Kneipp Spa hotel), make sure you book it at least a week before your arrival. The massage lady employed by the hotel as fixed employee works from 8am to 2pm on weekdays, and did not show a high degree of flexibility. There is another, free-lance massagist who comes in but she appears to be chronically overbooked. - The WiFi service is very old fashioned with a voucher that is given to you, providing a cumbersome username and password to connect your smartphone (one voucher per device) for you to connect to the WiFi. The system is such that you have to reconnect every time your smart phone gets into screen saving mode, ie about every five minutes. Oddly cumbersome. Why not have one password for the hotel WiFi which they could change once per week if they fear that ex-guests connect and misuse the hotel WiFi. - Finally, the transport to the city centre of Bad Lauterberg, which lies down the hill, a 20min walk away. There is a small shuttle van four times a day, but you need to register for the transfer until one hour before. The shuttle appears to be cancelled at times, which is unpleasant in particular if you are in the city centre and want to go back to the hotel. Suggestion: make an arrangement with a local taxi company, for a transfer of hotel guests at a fixed flat rate fee.

Cons: We felt that we were fortunate to be seated with a friendly and informative couple for meals. There did not appear to be any tables for only 2 people. There was a limited choice for dinner.

Cons: Place was not dirty but it was not clean and tidy. Towels were old and very rough. Sheets did not have a clean, crisp feel.

Pros: The facilities as a family hotel were all good, including the bar (eager-to-please barman) for when the kids are in bed. Staff all courteous and forthcoming, Easy to find and a practical location/base for day trips. The renovated rooms are fine to excellent, but we heard about some that were not so good.

Cons: More evening activities needed for older kids, but not crucial as the nice small pool is open till 9.30pm. The two small lifts are not really sufficient at peak times (building 2) and the corridor down in the cellar to reach the "restaurant" (more a canteen), bar, pool, etc. is not very welcoming. The buildings themselves are an eyesore and so is the car park which is big but still too small. Need a facelift. A very steep price for what you actually use as you usually visit the region to go sightseeing and hiking.

Pros: Always very friendly staff that was experienced with having kids around. We brought the twins to child care once and had a good impression on the staff and activities there. Bad Lauterberg itself is a cosy town typical for that region. You can reach other parts of the Harz very well.

Cons: The rooms first impression was good. However they lacked some simple things like power plugs for our own hair dryer or other electric devices. As ‘bonus’ we have had dirt in some obvious corners of the room and some soup spilled over the ‘welcome coffee cups’. Having buffet for meals was a great help for us when travelling with kids. A little more organic fruits and vegetables would be nice to see though.

Pros: Location was perfect if you want to be in the nature, near forest, ideal for short or long walking trip, pool was not bad, though could have do with a Little bit more facilities, like slides. Kids enjoyed the children disco very much. The Apartment we had was wonderful, very spacious and comfortable, clean, modern facilities

Cons: we expected to have more Entertainment for the Kids, recommended as children-friendly Hotel, especially the children playing room was more for small children, but no facilities for elder children apart from the air hockey and table Tennis. if you are without a car, it would be difficult to explore the location

Pros: This was our third time of stay in the same hotel. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Clean room with kitchen. Nice swimming pool and sauna. Highly recommended for families with children.
