It was an old typical French 2 star, clean, adequate, with bags of character and great value in an excellent position.
We found the property was perfectly quirky and it felt nice. Sometimes having old rustic looking rooms felt so much better. The rooms are very spacious and views are priceless and would be deserved such a 5 star When u book a 2 star then expectations are little to none as to the price you pay.. Yet the Le Pavillion exceeds little more to the imagination and hospitality is rather more to a 4 star. Most certainly will be back
Location. View to Loire river and old town. Good for one night stop.
The heater was on and the room was freezing.
We booked one family room just for one night for 5 people with breakfast. The hotel is close to the city center with nice view to the river and to the old bridge. There is a free parking place just about 200 m from the hotel building. We just had to walk over the bridge and we were at the city center with many restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable. There were 2 double beds and 1 single bed. The bed were good as well. The bathroom was clean as well. I think it was renewed just a couple of years before.
The check-in process was a bit too slow; the receptionist received a call; somebody was booking a room on the phone. When he finished the call; he served a coffee, a beer and a wine to customers (the hotel is also a bar/restaurant). He spoke just a limited English. The breakfast was the French type; one croissant and more baguettes mostly with sweets. The room did not really have a cupboard nor a desk; it would be difficult to stay more days (OK, the luggage could be put under the beds...) The breakfast is from 08:00 but when we entered around 08:05 it was not fully prepared. When we asked, all food appeared on their places :) Even with the mentioned "weaknesses" I would stay again (short stay).
